RAM vs hearts - music production

Hello

If I wanted to make great mixes with lots of plugins by channel and less bouncing titles, I would benefit with more ram or carrots?

Logical X crashes constantly now and I quite high with tracks to bounce back. Time for an upgrade

Hi Tomcatt87

You don't give any info on your system (model? RAM? etc...) and versions of OSX/LPX, which could help diagnose your problems. It would not even your computer, a plug-in or latency issue for example.

RAM temporarily stores the data/files/etc... and the "cores (CPU) is the real treatment.» Different functions. Activity (in your Utilities folder) monitor is a useful tool to point to possible corrections. You can see how many treatment goes through process % CPU (up to 100% / Core) and tab memory, page swaps will indicate if you need more RAM. It's a starting point.

If you have real accidents, you can use ~ library > newspapers > reports of diagnosis or the Console to understand what application that is causing the problem. In general, a low power, computer resource private will not crash, simply rotate the beach ball or produce crackle and pop while recording.

Hope this helps, Greg

If your license is OEM then it cannot be transferred to a different motherboard. (there is due to the default exception)

To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the diagnostic report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )

  • Toshiba laptop for music production

    Hello

I'm looking for a good laptop to run Cubase sx and many told me about Toshiba, but it seems they have a lot of audio problems / fan so I would like to know if these types of problems are present on all models or only in satellite. I'll buy a Toshiba Tecra A7 - 239 it what you think about this?

Thank you very much! Good bye

    Hello

I don t think that all series of satellites have problems with the audio output.
Of course, I saw a thread on audio glitch, but it doesn't mean anything

I found this thread, for example:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=21280

The guy makes music and is very happy on the Satellite
So I recommend to test some laptops and ask your dealer to laptop for review

  • Upgrading RAM Acer Travelmate P256.-m.

Hi newbie here so please be gentle!
I have an Acer Travelmate P256 M purchased recently for music production and want to increase the RAM of 4 GB to 8 GB. I bought the relevant stick of RAM, but when I came to install it, I realized there was no obvious hatch on the base of the laptop to access the RAM slots. Sure that I wouldn't have to disassemble the laptop to do this upgrade, but can't find a 'how to' anywhere - any help appreciated please

  • X 220 i7 4 GB RAM and SSD freezes

    Hello

I got my X 220 i7 4 GB RAM & SSD for over a year. He used to run like a charm, but recently it started running VERY slowly with the system stuttering and gel, especially when you look at video such as Youtube.

Also, I noticed that expelled the fan heat is VERY hot when this happens. Not sure if this is normal.

How can I find what is happening? Not sure if it's hardware or software.

    Thank you very much.

    Kind regards

    Matthias

This probably explains why the CPU temperature is so high. My X 220 with i7 (2620 m) processor runs at 87 degrees C when it is off-dock, when I run Prime95 on it, which pushes the CPU to 100% CPU usage.

I think if you are going to use your X 220 as a music production machine, I would recommend to use it outside of the docking station and put it on a base chiller.

  • The upgrade of RAM will improve the speed side Windows and Mac?

I use VMware fusion for music production and this program requires plenty of work. I have a MacBook Pro 4 GB of ram and when I turn on VMware it goes to 2 GB of ram in Mac and 2 GB ram under windows. My Mac's speed is normal when VMware fusion is off but when I turn on my Mac is very slow. The upgrade of ram will improve the speed on mac and also windows (windows is also very slow)

BTW, my English is not very good

Well, take a peek in the Windows Task Manager to see how much memory is required/used. If an operating system requires more memory available, it will start to swap out the disk, which will introduce a huge performance impact. If the answer to your question is probably yes.

    André

PS: After adding memory to the host, you must also change the client memory for the virtual machine.

  • Satellite P200-1BA - questions about the HARD drive RAM upgrade

There is a 2nd internal HARD drive Bay, but not a female connector. Can I install it? How?
There are 2 slots for RAM, all together 2 GB. Is it possible to exit an and instead place a token 2 GB to 3 GB total or should I always double channel pair RAM?

It is not possible to install the second HARD drive. The laptop box is universal for all models P200, but some of them are delivered with 2 drives hard HDD upgrade is not possible.

With the RAM modules, you can do what you want. To be more precise, YES! You can remove a 1 GB module and put 2 GB RAM. Please just use high quality Rams and not some products without name at low cost.

  • Spectrum of 13-4109na x 360 HP: question for HP spectrum 13-4109na x 360 Ram upgrade

    Hello

I am looking to buy new spectrum 13-4109na x 360 HP and I would like to know if it would be possible to increase the 16 GB ram?

The product technique (https://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=P5P13EA & opt = ABU & salt = NTB #merch - tech - specs) says 8 GB on board so I think that the answer is, but is - it possible that you guys can improve vessel?

    Thank you

    Jousset

It won't have anyone on this Forum. Page HP Store says on the spectrum:

Up to 8 GB of RAM

Multitasking without effort and get more work with up to 8 GB of RAM

So I think that they do not offer a 16 gig option. I sincerely doubt that you really need 16 gigs, but if you have it you will not be able to get on this computer.

  • Essential concepts for an 8 year old budding music producer :)

    Hi all

I'll take my 8 year old daughter away for a stay of 6 weeks. She sings. I mean she sings throughout the day. Literally never tired of singing... She's still playing the piano but Im thinking this will be a good time to start.

I want to introduce to Logic pro. The goal is to let her loose with my macbook, logic pro and let her find a way of composing her own songs. IM thinking essentials that I need to pack in my suitcase is as follows:

    1 Macbook with logic installed

    2. Midi keyboard - think a unit Audio M - don't know whether to go 25, 32 or 49 keys

3 microphone/voice recorder - or not (do not know how well the mac built in microphone works for her)

    4. decent pair of headphones

Any suggestions for the 2 points. 3. & 4. would be welcome.

Also, and perhaps more importantly, suggestions on how to introduce the world of music production. Are there notable tutorials out there that would be appropriate for children?

    Your comments are greatly appreciated.

    See you soon

My only suggestion is, if you really want to teach him how to play the piano, (which is a great idea) get a keyboard 49 keys minimum. In addition, as a music teacher... don't forget that a "keyboard" is far from playing a real piano. However, we can learn the basics of the music on it and use it with computers. Eight-year-old is the ideal time to start, if you think it's promising, get his first lessons of piano and learned to read, play/composing by ear is wonderful, but learn to read music opens worlds of music.  I served as a teacher of jazz guitar at the University here and teach music theory API.

(My opinion) The most important thing for a young musician (if she is going to be just a hobby or more) is to learn the rudiments of music because of this point, you can go anywhere. (Lady Gaga is a classically trained pianist)

If you have installed GarageBand, I would start there, (it is built on a subset of logic and all the basics are here) that's a lot for a child of eight years to work with, it allows to display in musical notation (played with the keyboard) MIDI tracks, but also the standard format "piano roll".

  • Problems to install 4 GB of RAM on Satellite L300/L02

I bought a new Satellite L300/LO2 a few weeks back with 1 GB of RAM installed. Sheet product specification of Toshiba for laptop says "Total expandable memory up to 2 GB... If 4 GB is installed, recognized memory may be reduced (for configuration and system memory allocation function)'.
I tried to install strips of of 2 x 2 GB Kingston RAM, but the laptop will not start.

I just got a blue error screen. The two RAM sticks worked fine individually - the laptop wouldn't be fair works with both sticks installed.

I returned the laptop to the retailer and received a replacement machine, but it has the same problem.
I am now under the replacement machine with 3 GB of RAM (1 x 1 GB stick, stick of 1 x 2 GB).

Anyone know if there is a solution so that I can install the second 2 GB key?

The laptop came with 32 bit Vista Home Premium pre-installed.
I wonder if the machine might work better (and function with the extra RAM) if I install Windows WP instead?

    Hey Buddy

Toshiba series is equipped with different devices and different hardware configurations.

I downloaded the manual Toshiba L300 series and the manual says:
+ PC25300 512 MB, 1 GB, or 2 GB modules of memory can be installed in two memory locations. * Speed and memory size maximum system depends on the model you have purchased! *+

I guess that your laptop was equipped with the * Intel GL960 chipset * (Please check this too)
These chipset, supports DDR2 memory at 533 Mhz ONLY and * max 2 GB! *

Check this technical paper Intel Chipset: * Chapter 1.3.2. *

  • HP Envy 15 t-q300: HP Envy15t - q300 RAM compatibility

    Hello

I just ordered a laptop, HP Envy 15 t-q300, and I have a question about RAM compatibility.

    Product number: L6E55AV_1

Link to the laptop I bought.

    http://store.HP.com/us/en/PDP/laptops/HP-envy---15T-slim-Quad-laptop-l6e55av-1#! & TabName = specifications

It comes with 1 DIMM 8 GB RAM DDR3L. Now, I just ordered another 8GB DDR3 (who says 1.35 V well and at a retailer like Newegg the same RAM is also referred to as DDR3L) to put in the empty space to make a total of 16 GB.

RAM I ordered for location empty.

    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/ct102464bf160b

Is it OK to have two different modules in two different sockets?

Will be the performance degrades or may not close to having similar modules?

Is it OK to put the module above as well as one who came at HP?

Comments or suggestions will be appreciated.

Also comments on the laptop that I ordered?

    Thank you

I bought the same and he has since then worked without problem.

  • Windows XP: I have 448 MB of RAM available. What happened to the 64 MB of RAM lack and how can I solve this problem. Thank you

I am trying to install application constant guard Internet Security of Comcast.  After trying to download and install the product, I get and RAM error message indicating I need 512 MB of RAM to install this product, and I only have 448 MB of RAM available.  What happened to the 64 MB of RAM lack and how can I solve this problem.  Thank you

The only way to see more of RAM is to install a graphics card and disable the onboard graphics of your motherboard. If you do this, you should be able to see all the 512 MB of it.

That being said, I will repeat what I said before...
You can always buy more RAM and install it on your motherboard. Go to crucial.com for more information.
In addition, you should review install 'Internet Security' application or suite. They are not necessary (you can easily configure Windows so that it is very safe) and they often ruin the performance of a PC.
