Random crashes after that last round of updates (23/02/2010)

I was recently meet the system hard locking after the last round of updates.

I'm running on a Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit platform.  Currently do not have access to the crash dump information because I'm not nearly this PC at the moment.  Someone else encountered similar problems?

Hi Jamesarm,

Note the updates recently installed on the computer.

1. Click Start and select Control Panel.

2. click on Windows Update, and then click view update history.

Click on the link: see the Windows updates are installed: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/See-which-Windows-updates-are-installed

Take note of the KB articles.

To troubleshoot further, we need to get the error message; You can get the following error message:

1. open Event Viewer by clicking Start, clicking Control Panel, clicking system and security, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. click on a journal of the events in the left pane.
3. double-click on an event to view the details of the event.

Now, make a note of the full error code or an error message.

Read the article: What are the information contained in the logs of the event (Event Viewer)?: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/What-information-appears-in-event-logs-Event-Viewer

Note the error message or an exact error code and provide the same.

Thank you, and in what concerns:

  • Problems with the screen resolution, Cloud based software and Photoshop after the last round of updates Windows 8.1.

    Original title: screen resolution problems.

Since the last series of Windows 8.1 update the resolution of my monitors has been changed for the worse. I use an AOC 2367 M (resolution 1920 x 1080) as my first monitor and a 42 inch Sony Bravia (resolution 1920 x 1080) as my 2nd monitor. The changes are more noticeable on the Sony Bravia and any adjustment I make to the resolution only make worse it.

I also have problems with some software clouds as I load using citrix and when I try and navigate once opened software, I can't because the pointer selects a point about 50 mm on the side of the where he is hovering. In fact it is very difficult to open and close as anything and I resorted to the laptop to get concrete results.

Photoshop now also comes up with a message when I open it up to inform me that the monitor profile seems to be defective.

Any suggestions would be helpful as I thought initially an another upgrade must follow to correct the ills of windows 8, but appears not to have happened.

Windows 7 64 x computer with up-to-date Norton 360 crashes after the last critical update. I had to go back to a recovery point before the last installed update. I had Norton 360 for nine with no previous Windows Update problems

It seems to work after a reboot and a new attempt to update norton.   First, it froze.   I connect this because I heard that several win 7 64B machines at work had to be restored on 1/12 after a bad update.  I don't know if they also had norton.

  • After that 'stop and install updates' on restart it happens to "configuration" 3/3 then restarts then does "configuration 3/3" again and restarts in a loop ""»

    This is windows vista business.

After that 'stop and install updates' on restart it happens to "configuration" 3/3 then restarts then does "configuration 3/3" again and restarts in a loop. ""» I tried to find out latest fashion good and safe, but still the same. Help, please.
Is it possible from a different drive to boot and then by applying some changes that would stop it. At the time when the computer is unusable, it just starts to "configuration updated 3/3" then restarts.

    Hello

    Try these methods.

    Method 1:

You have to do a cold start, press and hold power for a few seconds (10).

Wait a minute or two and turn it back on.

Make sure that "all the" non-essential devices are disconnected. (USB keys (for example, flash drives) or any other external media like this takes place.).

If you can, start safe mode.

Start your computer in safe mode with network.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

NOTE: see 3 from the link above, Advanced options boot (including safe mode).

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode

Select Mode safe mode with networking.

    Method 2:

    Use the system restore feature:

    (a) click Start, type system restore in the Search box or search programs and filesand then click on the system restore under the programs section.

    (b) on the System Restore page, click Next.

    (c) select a restore point during which you know the operating system works, and then click Next.

The restore point should be a date that precedes the first time you encountered the problem.

NOTE: If you use system restore when the computer is in safe mode, you can't undo the restore operation.

See also: error: configuration of the Windows updates failed. Restoration of the changes. Do not turn off your computer when you try to install updates for Windows

    Data loss caveat:

Be sure to back up data that you want to keep before you begin. This is to ensure that there is no loss of data.

    Method 3:

    Step 1:

To avoid this problem on Windows Vista, obtain and install update 937287 from the Microsoft Download Center separately from all other updates on Windows Update site. Install the update that applies to your version of Windows Vista so that you are able to install future updates.

A software update is available for the Windows Vista installation software feature

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/937287/en-us

The following files are available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:

    Windows Vista x 86 systems

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?amp;displaylang=en&ID=15287

    Windows Vista x 64 systems

    http://www.Microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?amp;displaylang=en&ID=23732

    Step 2:

Save the update to a location on your hard drive, you can find and then install the update from there.

Download, *Save* and install the update with no security (antivirus/security suite) software installed, disconnect from the Internet, disable the firewall & close all non-essential processes in the Task Manager.

    Disable antivirus programs and firewalls.

    Disable the anti-virus software

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

    Windows Firewall

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/firewall-frequently-asked-questions

Note: Make sure that you enable the antivirus software, other security and firewall after the test programs.

    Caution:
Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

I also recommend taking off of USB keys (for example, flash drives) or any other external media, as this takes place.

When the file is downloaded, see these steps.

    (a) right -click on the file and

    (b) select run as administrator from the menu.

    Check if it helps.

  • Pavilion dv6-4024tx: display random crashing after upgrade to Windows 10 (back to Windows 7)

    Hey all,.

I used to own a computer laptop dv6-4024tx Pavilion which I gave to my father to use after you have bought a new laptop for my part. It was in pretty good condition when I gave it to him, with the only problem being that she would get very hot unless a cooling pad was used (which I it comes with). At the time, it was running Windows 7 Home Premium with no problems and everything was fine. However, it might be interesting to note that while I had it I had problems with random blue screens while I was with the latest graphics drivers, so I drove back to the drivers supplied on the support page for this laptop. After I "upgraded" to Windows 10 (do not perform a clean install) for my dad, the laptop would randomly crash and display something like the photo that I have attached, before going empty and show again several times. Believing that it would be a problem with the GPU, I went and Display Driver Uninstaller to remove completely all AMD drivers and software, downloaded the latest driver on the AMD website and installed. It seemed to temporarily solve the problem, but as it's always within 30 days of installation, I offered to go back to Windows 7, but my father wanted to leave it and see how it happened. Oddly enough, for the next month, it never reported the laptop crashing again and the time period for return finally expired. The problem of course back then I tried the same solution from before but the noise continued. I tried to disable the GPU completely from the Device Manager, so that the laptop was running with Microsoft Basic display adapter. He seems to have stopped the fracas, but less than a week my father told me that he had crashed again.  I tried to restore the laptop to a system image I had done years ago, but I learned that you cannot restore an image to a different version of Windows System. Finally, as a last resort I backed everything up and made a real clean install of Windows 10, and the problem has not yet disappear.

My goal now is to return the Windows 7 laptop somehow. I can mount a virtual image of the system hard drive and access all the recovery files provided by HP, specifically the Recovery Manager. From there, I can do a recovery USB or DVD (s) we hope to restore the laptop to all conditions of factory (so theoretically return to Windows 7). I will try this, but I need a flash player more than 20 GB or several blank DVDs I don't currently. In addition, Recovery Manager says that this medium can never be created once, so it save me time and money (not to mention my last lifeline) if someone could please share their views on the question of whether this method would be successful or not. I know in case it doesn't work, there is always the question of registration of the OS by Microsoft, but I can cross that bridge when I get to it.

Sorry for the essay I just wrote, but this has been a problem for too long, and I am at a loss to know what to do now (apart from the purchase of another computer). If there are any questions I'll be happy to answer, and I hope we can get this issue is resolved. See you soon.

If you follow this step 3.

    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/675-system-image-recovery.html

You will need to select "format and repartition disks" as windows 10 will have changed partitions.

  • I often use Tor to surf the internet, but after that I've recently updated to 11.0 Firefox (Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu 1.0) I don't know how to disable Tor or open a browser non - Tor; Tor button has disappeared from the lower right. Thank you!

I use Firefox (Mozilla Firefox for Ubuntu 1.0) 11.0 in Ubuntu 10.04. Since the Firefox 11.0 update, I was unable to disable Tor, or to navigate without using Tor. There used to be a button at the bottom right which enabled me to move from a Tor enabled, but it's gone. I could find no mention of this in the Tor documentation, so I ask here in the hope that someone had a similar problem and has been able to solve.

  • Strange problem with rocket, it loads more after that I did a update

I decided that I had had this for awhile mp3 player, so I decided to do an update. Everything went perfectly. I was watching a movie that night. I was getting sleepy while I have for as long as I got this mp3 player, I suspended it and off the. Then the next night, when I turned it on, it went to a screen that looked like the music screen abd has even had the title of the music. with a thumbnail of the video where goes the album art and title and my progress through the film. I thought that it is new, must be a novelty. So I clicked play. the icon has changed to a pause button. nothing else has happened. I hit the menu. nothing happened. so I turned off the unit. The screen when white for a second and plays then the splash screen and then frozen with the sansa icon. I waited for the battery to die and plugged. He showed the screen connected for 1 second and then disconnected says. I tried the pluging it in several times. Whenever my computer marks the device as long as it is unrecognizable. When connceted disappears. It displays the battery icon in the corner with the fees thing, it flashes twice then disappears and continues to do this endlessley. It is not actually in charge, I let stand for 2 hours and the charge did not go to the top. still, my computer just flashes the device is unrecognizable. Please help me.

Have you tried setting the USB of the player to MSC mode? The computer will recognize the player in MSC mode? After the last update of the firmware, my pc does not recognize my rocket in MTP mode. However, there is no problem in MSC mode. Some have said that the reinstallation of Windows Media Player would solve the problem. Apparently, it is also related to Windows XP SP3. Since I don't need to use MTP mode and wanted to pass the Canada Meteorological Service anyway, I just changed from MSC rather than reinstall Windows Media Player.

    Hello

It happens after installing the OS from the Toshiba Recovery CD?
You have installed any additional program?

I noticed a similar freeze on my laptop. For the most part, it happened because the background process has not closed, and so the laptop could not force the closure downwards. In my case it was an adobe acrobat reader software that could not close.

I think you should you HDD defragment and use the freeware CCleaner application.
This program cleans the program errors and corrects registry entries.

Try it! Maybe it s not a serious problem!
