Random shutdown problem. 64-bit Windows 8

It seems to happen randomly... But my computer to randomly stop every hour or two. I checked the power saving settings and everything, is there a known problem or Fix that I could use to get my computer not to stop? I have Windows 8 Pro - 64 Bit.

I had the same problems over the past 14 months. Origanally I blamed the PSU, replaced that, no effect.

I've experimented with other versions of drivers and windows, replaced the memory with LV/LP (little improvement) but the same problems; BSOD and powerdrops/sudden reboots. Since he is not consistent, it sometimes seems to help, which made it difficult to analyze.

During the last month things got worse and worse. I sent in the dumps memory to Sapphire for my graphics card, they did a great job and even offered to replace the card, but since it was not not a direct relationship with my humble opinion I don't have.

I had one cut analyze with my equipment on the whole of the system supplier, they have not found a problem but replaced the motherboard (AsRock Z77 Pro3) in all cases. The new Board of Directors has been tested, but at home, it crashed on me sudcdenly in the BIOS. We measured the power from the motherboard. It seemed that even on regular use in mode dekstop, without overclocking, power is not quite consistent.

This Council, as most low/mid range mothers, don't use real Digital PWM and uses of capacitors and coils. We replaced the Board with a Gigabyte ultra-portable (in this case the GA-Z77X-UD3H). All the problems have been resolved.

My system is now running smooth, even low power (cool) and slightly overclocked.

I just downloaded Windows 10 64-bit on my Asus laptop and now my Jet V40 of office all-in-one printer will not work correctly.  I tried to download the new drivers for 64-bit Windows 10 several times from the driver of HP downloads site but nothing happened.  I ran the HP print and scan doctor several times and he said I had a problem of correspondence of port, but was not able to resolve the issue after I restarted my laptop.  Help, please.

    Hello @Gator44,

Welcome to th eHP support forums.

I appreciate that you try to connect your Officejet v40 to your computer Windows 10.

When I studied the list of HP printers compatible for Windows 10, the v40 is there.

HP printers - printers compatible Windows 10

He recommends the driver from Windows Update. This means that it is is not, or should not be any driver download.

    HP G6 8 64-BIT Windows clubhouse

    PRODUCT: C4M16EA #ABU

When starting my laptop I get the message ' Loading/Starting Windows' or 'prepare auto repair.

It will always stay as such indefinatly.

My keyboard is also sense is unresponsive, I can't access all the screens that can help, even if for some reason any 'ctrl + alt + del' seems to work before the HP Logo loads, but causes just the laptop to reboot.

I tried to turn my cell phone off, remove the power cable and the battery, now the power button for 15 seconds, plug the power cable while leaving the battery and pressing the power button to turn it on, but nothing.

Now, this problem seems occor after the fall of the battery, I suppose that he would be wrong with the clips.

but before even the pack fell, the laptop started to freeze, for the first time since I bought it, unfortunaty battery fell as he was frozen, adding probably more to the struggle of laptops every start.

as I'm just young and still in education I am not proven flexible meaning I don't have an income either.

So if I need to replace my laptop or any computer component of such, please suggest the cheapest possible you...

    Thank you.

Unfortunately, my warranty has expired, I thought I was doing he extended but a year and a half, according to moore's law, I should be able to buy a brand knew portable with double technology for the same price as this one. So I decided just let expire and take care of it.

But overall, the problem has been solved, I left my laptop on one night while I was sleeping and it fixed itself, I guess it was just a matter of waiting.

In the future, I'll wait and see what happenes before posting for help here.

Thanks a lot for your suggestion however.

    Hello giant,

It is not possible to use 16-bit on a 64-bit computer applications/games.

However, you can download and install Wondows XP Mode for windows 7. Later, you can install your 16-bit application in XP mode.

You can download the application from the link given:

The pilot must main installation problems or it will just say that the material cannot be found. It becomes very frustrating because I had a lot of problems with the h p drivers recently. If anyone thinks they have a solution, I would be grateful for feedback. I even tried to run the software on the device when you install the "compatibility mode" to be compatible with Windows Vista. None of the steps worked. I know that the Scanjet is connected and read on my computer because when I run the software to doctor: p and do a scan test, the Scanjet responds perfectly well. • Problem windows break 8 32-bit to 64-bit windows 8

I just upgraded my pc to windows 7 32-bit to 32-bit windows 8 successfully.  Now, I would like to make the jump from 32 bits to 64 bits.  the only problem, in fact.  I downloaded the iso 64-bit windows 8 on Member MSDN site and loaded on a USB key with the download tool usb/dvd windows 7.  The only problem is that when I try to start it, the computer bugs and crashes on a State of "Checking nvram"  At this point I don't know if my computer is the problem or the flash player.  Any help would be appreciated!

You can try to format the thumb drive and try to create another bootable copy by using the. ISO file.

If it does not, re-download the 8 64-bit windows. ISO files again and create another bootable copy.

    If the problem persists:

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

If the computer still stops responding during Setup, contact your manufacturer computer or your retailer.

  • The Version 32 bits of PSE V14 will install and work without problems on my 64-bit Windows 7.1?

Is it is possible to download a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version of PSE V14. Dowbload choice is offered for example on:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/de/Photoshop-elements/KB/Photoshop-elements-downloads.html

Question: If I choose to download the Version 32 bits of PSE V14, the 32-bit version of PSE V14 work smoothly on my Windows 64-bit 7.1?

Explanations: I asked the above question, because I often use with PSE V10 (to restore/correction/balance the colors of the digitized versions / scanning of my old faded slides) Plugin/filter Kodak 'Digital ROC Professional V2.1.0,' which is not work in 64-Bit mode... and I'd like to continue to use this filter, Kodak/Plugin with PSE V14 once I converted my catalog V10 of PES to PES V14. Therefore, I would like to use the Plugin/filter Kodak of a Publisher version V14 PSE (on my 64-bit Windows 7.1 mode) running in 32-bit mode.

Subsidiary question: can I also ask, if that's possible on my 7.1 Windows

    • to install
    • and use (a PSE V14 editor both instance)

both 32-Bit and 64-Bit version of the V14 PES Editor (and can the 32-bit and bit Version use 64.eu event catalog)?

Thank you very much in advance for your answer

I think the problem is with the Setup program. I read somewhere that it automatically detects the type of OS, 32 or 64 bits and installs the corresponding version. In this case, Adobe will provide a different Installer to maintain a 32-bit version in a 64-bit system. Not very likely.

Hi, I have a problem in the installation, how to install acrobat 8.1 pro in 64-bit Windows 7 Enterprise is existing in Windows XP.  I just want to transfer the license Adobe pro 8 Windows 7 64 bit. What is the procedure?

You need to install 8 AA on the new OS with your current S/N (the license allows 2 installs). After the installation, do all the updates if you expect any chance of 8 AA to run on the system. If the updates will be installed not in the menu help, then go to ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobat/win/ and install updates in the order. People seem to have been successful with 32 - bit systems and some have reported success with a 64 bit system. After installation, print something to the Adobe PDF printer to make sure it works. If this works, you should be in good shape as printing treat the bottleneck. There is a solution, but you shouldn't have it.

If all works well, then go back to the old machine and disable this installing and uninstalling. Don't forget that your configuration is not supported by Adobe. It seems with every new version of Windows, MS seeks to make the user to upgrade the other hardware and software for compatibility. There may be legitimate reasons for this action, but the game just seems to be Ms.

It is a symptom of textbooks classic does not have read and followed the original instructions to prepare the downloaded files.  You should have two files zip files.  They both must be decompressed in the same directory.  If you unzip using Windows graphic interface - in right click on the name of the file and selecting "extract all...". "the default behavior will be to create a directory, the same name as the zip file and extract in it.  Thus, file_1_of_2 pulls in directory_1_of_2 and file_2_of_2 extracted in directory_2_of_2.  You must override this stupid behavior by default and specify the directory yourself.  And specify the SAME directory for both files.

Or just go to a command prompt, change directories to the directory where the two zip files are located and deliver "unzip " and "unzip ", and they will both be properly unpack to a directory named "database".

  • Windows Vista home Premium 32 bit SP2: iTunes 10.1: there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run.

I worked on it for about 3 days now. It's driving me crazy. I tried everything I could find to try to solve this problem.

When installing iTunes it stops and a box will then appear to me said "there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support provider or package. "No error message or anything, that's all I get. When I hit the only button I can hit the OK button, it continues to install QuickTime. Sometimes, it will install the iTunes file and the shortcut, but the shortcut does never work and the iTunes file is always empty. I have download the installer directly from Apple.com and save to the desktop, a new copy after each test (just in case).

Here is a list of what I've tried:

Yes, I am the administrator of the computer with admin abilities, yes I checked run this program as an administrator. I also made sure to stop all this as possible could interfere with the instillation, including my anti virus and what not even before I tried a clean boot.

Is there anything else I can try?

I installed the 64-bit Windows 7, but I need to run some old software, for which I have a CD. (Actually I think it is 16-bit. Well, I know it's a dinosaur, but this is my situation.) Naturally, setup.exe is also 16-bit (perhaps 32 bits, but I doubt it). There is a shortcut to setup.exe on my desk, by double-clicking on it, I get this message:

The version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see if you need a x 86 (32 bit) or x 64 (64-bit) version of the program and then contact the software publisher.

He ran very well under Windows XP 32-bit, and I don't remember doing something special for 16 bit then; I know that much. (I'm sure I'd remember something special like that, if I had). Microsoft program compatibility issues resolution isn't going anywhere.

How do I enter a 32-bit emulator environment and double-click the shortcut (or setup.exe itself) from there?

    64 bit W7 run 16-bit programs.

32-bit W7 can run older 16-bit programs (a little) more

If you have an eligible version of W7, you may be able to get the program running in XPMode or install Virtual Box and if you run an old copy of XP or W7 32-bit (assuming it's free with a free license, etc.) in that.

Or maybe make a system dual-boot W732 (or XP) and W764.

If it is a DOS program rather than an old Windows program, it can run into something like DOSBOX
