Random stop into sleep/hibernation mode

I recently installed Windows 7 Professional on my HP laptop and I have the following problem: when I enter the computer to 'Hibernate' mode or 'sleep', after a certain period of time (usually a few hours), the computer will wake up automatically and the screen will turn blue for a fraction of a second before the computer shuts down completely.  When I turn on the computer again, he says he was arrested in an improper way and wonder whether or not I'd like to boot normally or in safe mode.

When I was with Windows XP, I haven't had no problem leaving the computer in mode 'sleep' for days at a time.  Anyone know why I have this problem with Windows 7?

Any help would be greatly appreciated :).

Hi alexpm,

Welcome to the Microsoft Answers community.

I suggest you to update the drivers for all the hardware components of your computer and check.

Method 1: Steps to update the drivers for all hardware components:

1. open the Manager of devices by clicking the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and security, and then, under system, clicking Device Manager. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
2. in the list of hardware categories, find the device you want to update, and then double-click the device name.
3. click on the tab driver, click Update driver, and then follow the instructions. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

For more information visit http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work properly

Method 2:

1. click the Start button, type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
2. right click on the wireless adapter and select Properties.
3. you will see 5 tabs, click on the last one that says "power management."
4. now, simply UNCHECK the first box that says "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
5. click on the OK button.

Method 3: Create a new user profile and check if the problem persists there. This problem may also be due to damaged user account.

To create a new profile, you must first create a new user account. When the account is created, a profile will also be created.

1. open user accounts by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click user accounts and family safety (or by clicking on user accounts, if you are connected to a network domain), and then clicking user accounts.
2. click on manage another account.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
3. click on create a new account.
4. type the name you want to assign to the user account, click an account type, and then click on create an account.

Let me know if it worked.

  • System goes into sleep/hibernation mode suddenly; sometimes THINKPAD Sun splash screen

I have a type-7EU, put T61P 6460 updated since the original factory with Win 7 and a Corsair SSD.  This problem occurred months after these upgrades.

Problem as a whole seems to be displayed in many ways, so I don't know what the root cause and whether or not the system can be repaired.

A few weeks ago, I found that I could not resume after sleep or Hibernate mode.  The system would start to recover, but the screen turns off and the "half moon" icon lit up.  However, instead of going completely to sleep, it seems to begin to restore once again, because the caps lock num lock light flashes and the DVD player would be 'would click,' as they do when first starting the system.

In other situations, when I first tries to start, the ThinkPAD splash screen is very low.  This happens until I see Win 7 menu to select Win7 or an older operating system to start.  Once I selected Win 7, the screen flashes between normal and total brightness black during the boot process. Usually, the system never ends completely to where I can connect to Windows.

Or, I can work after 5 minutes or an hour away, and then the system suddenly goes to sleep

Sometimes, I noticed that the vent near the upper left corner of the system is very hot.  But then I got this problem starting even when the system is off all day and probably cold.

Alternatively, I can work all day without any problems.

Can anyone advise on what could be the problem?  I'm looking at a motherboard replacement?  If so, is it possible to buy from an eBay seller?  Any recommendations?

OK guys, I don't know whether to apologize or grin because I came across a solution.

I'll try to answer all the answers to this one message.

I already downloaded the manual equipment, because about two months ago the screen on my T61p cracked badly, during a business trip.  Not good.  And in the coming days, the crack has continued to worsen.  When I got home, I find this manual and did an eBay search to find a replacement screen.  I also find a video on YouTube that shows how to disassemble the 'lid' (once removed from the main system) to change the screen. That everything worked well, except that it took several hours longer than I expected.  Going to pull apart the main system, I removed the wind and the heat sink and blew all the dust.

The way I solved this problem in all its manifestations, was to RESTORE control Plan for the Plan of power to all of the default values.  I had been playing with some advanced settings and noticed that some advanced settings settings did not share the same parameter values for the Basic setting, things like sleep and will point.

I can't that speculate that there are a few subtleties modes ensure Intel CPU, which can be programmed for Windows and are persistent through a reset or even a full stop. And I can also speculate that between Windows and the BIOS T61p, there are a few bugs in the way that these settings are configured.

In any case, once I did the reset to use, I can put my system to sleep or hiberate or close windows and the system still restarts when necessary.  I can also put my system to sleep by closing the lid of the screen and restart opening the cover.

Everything is good again, and I didn't have to spend the $$$.

Also, there are several months I upgraded to 8 GB of memory, of using a Crucial element.  Works very well, and I noticed that my MS Office apps now run faster, like Windows (64-bit).

This is therefore an envelope, I think that, as they say in Hollywood.

  • external unknown device after device, hard drive or the printer goes into sleep/hibernation

I guess that the problem occurs when each device goes into sleep/hibernation because this is happining to only my external hard drive and printer.  All other devices connected by USB have never no problem and will not go to standby or Hibernate. Difficulty I should close down then cold restart without connected device. then after the system is installed and running reconnect the device then it is recognized and works. I tried to just the printer powerdown (cables power and usb for printer peripheral but comp still running while still not recognized after that repower printer and then usb connection get 'unknown device'.)  The only way to obtain a recognized device, DHM or printer is as above full stop and then reconnect.  Any help would be greatly appreciated because it really is a pain and has cost me a printer that I threw out the window, luckly the window was open.  Thanks again for your time and your help very frustrated JK

  • Satellite L50-B-1HU randomly goes into sleep mode

Randomly, my laptop (Satellite L50-B-1HU) goes into sleep mode.
It happened at least 10 times in the last two weeks.

Once by chance, he goes to sleep he requires the power button to turn, but the power button should be 1 to 3 times, as it can to sleep just after pressing the power button.

Its happen even if the pad is in use. In windows power options, I turned also to disable the mode 'sleep'.

The laptop itself has been used for two weeks (which has passed since the first use)

    Any advice?
    Thank you

Like Notepad running in the power of the battery or also using the power adapter plugged?
From my point of view of a few notebook could enter the mode "sleep" due to low battery.

Also some 3rd party application preinstalled on the laptop could set the camera in mode "Eve".
Guess what: try to start the laptop is safe mode and let it run for a longer period of time. It would be interesting to know if the laptop would be access to the sleep mode using safe mode.

You can also use the command "powercfg. Windows 8 PowerCfg has a useful switch called - energy.
This technique is valuable to solve sleep problems.
Start the console with the command: cmd.
    In the console type: powercfg-ENERGY

Now it takes 60 seconds and will create an HTML file that you can open in your web browser to get the full report of energy. Now quite sure if the information could be useful, but it might be interesting what details this report would provide.

I have a wm Pavillion G7-1329 old 2 years with Windows 7. I use Windows antivirus and firewall for spyware with Malwarebytes. I've noticed recently, when I download or update anything, instead of restart as before, he hangs up and after about 5 minutes, he goes into hibernation and will not come out of it.

I have to make a strong power off.

I made a couple of restore points, but this does not solve the problem.

I use a fan to avoid overheating, although he still hot enough.

Is there anything else I can do to fix this?

  • My work computer Dell, Windows 7 locks when coming out of sleep/hibernation mode.

In order to get on the "locked mode", I have to remove ALL power to include battery, and then restart the computer.  Any thoughts?

I guess that Windows Update works fine on your PC.

Hardware devices are part of that Windows requires to function, these devices are examined by Windows as soon as it starts so they could explain your hibernation problems.

See the errors related to the Description Code 10, which generates the Device Manager in Windows computers

I expect that the Dell LAN driver download, then install them would solve the problem.  Dell driver downloads are exe files that you run to install them.  This facility is expected to replace whetever causes them to malfunction unless, of course, the material itself is faulty in which case you should check in your BIOS disable them so that Windows doesn't bother checking them.  To enter your BIOS, press F2, as soon as the Dell logo is displayed during startup.

Hello people who might be able to help me,

I come back from summer vacation and turned on my computer with windows 7 at first all seemed fine until I wanted to open an application. Opening was always very well, but when I did something on this subject, it crashed. Also my PC then stops in the hibernation mode. I can access internet, but nothing else. Then I tried to recover my PC. It turns out I have no recovery points and can only restore factory mode that sucks. Now that was new, since always, before I could restore my PC to a previous session without making any restore points. What can I do to restore my PC and ban these errors?

1 did you receive no error message or code when the application or the system crashed?
    2. What is the brand and model of your computer?

Thank you for details on the question and your efforts to resolve.

This problem can occur because settings to corrupt, or because of the presence of unused files in Windows. This can also occur due to the presence of any virus or malware.

I appreciate the fact that you want to restore your computer. However, until you do, I suggest you to try the following methods and check if it helps.

  • Satellite U300-144 does not come from the standby/hibernation mode

    Hi, can anyone help?

I have a new Satellite U300-144 accompanying the Vista home 32-bit preinstallation. I have a problem, he wants to come to the sleep/hibernation mode, and my clear blue power is always on standby/hibernation mode. I hold the power button to restart the computer and then I get a message of illegal closure because I don t shutdown right.

I tried to upgrade the BIOS later for my model and the n t the problem, then I tried to upgrade to Vista Ultimate t doesn't help either. I installed all the drivers and everything works real well.

A colleague using me U300 Office. I asked him to check the extended sleep/standby option and he reported that everything works correctly. He always uses the factory settings and only one update is added value package. He kidnapped the former and installed latest version of the Toshiba download page.

Have you installed latest PPVS too?

  • Computer into Hibernation Mode to randomly

I have recently (by recent, I mean during the last 2 months) has started having a problem with my laptop. I'll either watch a video, listen to music, compilation of the source code, or edit my Web site, when my computer screens goes black, and just the computer stops responding. He will be sitting like that for about 5-10 minutes and then go into hibernation mode...

When I press the power button to restart the computer from the Hibernate mode, my session is displayed again, but is not my last session. (ie. the session is one of 30 minutes before the computer had his number)

I have a HP Pavilion dv200 (Intel Core 2 Duo CPU [T5250 1.50 GHz by heart], 2.00 GB RAM, 32-Bit, Windows 7 Home Premium SP1).

The computer is coming over 8 years old next February. Initially, it came with the Windows Vista operating system.

Here are some other things to note:

There are has no magnets w / in a radius of 20 ft of the computer. I ran multiple analyses complete antivirus, with MSSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) and some other 3rd party antivirus they all return any malicious files. I have rebuilt the computer 3 times, and the problem persists. My power plan is configured with the balanced option, and all levels of power are the default. I tried to disable the completely hibernation mode, and the problem still occurred. Java is updated and works well, like my .NET framework.

The software that I run most commonly is listed below:

    Visual Studio 2012 Professional Edition

Visual Studio Express from 2013 for Windows desktop

    Microsoft WebMatrix

    Command prompt

    Internet Explorer

    Notepad ++

    Windows Explorer

    Eclipse

    Paint.NET

The question is a bit annoying, because I can't understand what it is.

    Help, please.

    Hello

I'm sorry for my late reply.

Thank you for your update on the issue.

Do you have any program of third-party anti-virus installed on your system?

Third-party antivirus firewalls block the network connection and could be a major cause of the issue. So, if you can install your favorite antivirus installed on the system again, I suggest you to completely uninstall the anti-virus program with its removal tool, temporarily to see if the problem persists. Find your relevant removal tool, please see this link by Stephen Boots responded March 21, 2012:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/protect/Forum/MSE-protect_start/list-of-anti-malware-product-removal-tools/407bf6da-C05D-4546-8788-0aa4c25a1f91

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

After return your results for assistance.

Thank you!

    Hi @JNBLanocha

My stomach says mt that perhaps you have the printer USB cable connected to a USB 3.0 port on your computer instead of a 2.0 port. The image below is some examples of 3.0 ports.

3.0 ports are supposed to be backwards compatible, but I've seen questions arise.

    I wonder if the cable you are using is the computer and causing problems pulling power. All I can do at this stage is to assume and to gather information. Please post back with the answers to the following questions;

    1. You have a USB connection
    2. If the USB is connected, you use a 2.0 port or 3.0?
    3. Again, if you use a USB connection type, have you tried another USB cable? It could be a cable problem.
    4. You put XP or you remove XP and install Windows 7?
    5. You have your printer connected directly to a power outlet, or you are using a power strip/bar, or a surge protector?
    6. Now this may sound silly, but you have a timer on your computer, such as the hibernate after so many minutes and maybe the computer and the printer are set at the same, it is possible the moment closures / sleep coincide.

I look forward to hear from you and to work towards a solution.

I can bypass the prob of scan but not the prob of sleep.

    Hi DanToz

I understand that the port is set to WSD, is that correct?

I have provided a document to print the configuration page to find out the IP address of the printer.

You have full administrative rights on this computer?

The HP 5510d is the series so that's fine.

If you cannot create a new port on the ports tab, then you probably don't have administrator rights on this computer.

You would have to contact you with the it Department to be able to do then.

    You need TCP/IP port port.

You turn off the printer to see if the computer goes into sleep mode?
