Rate question frame IEEE 1394

Dear all,
Currently, I have a problem with NI MAX and my software that uses niimaqdx for camera firewire 1394.
I use HAMAMATSU C10600 (ORCA R2).
When I use the software HCImage that origin of the HAMAMATSU Corporation, I can get good pace which they spoke.
But in MAX, it does not work properly. For example, rate of rebar binning 2 x 2 is 15.6 Hz. But in MAX, it's only of 10 Hz. I tested binning settings. In Max, it can no more than 10 Hz.
And I tested all firewire cameras. It has the same problem.
But camera PCI card does not have this problem.
Please let me know the solution for this.

Sincerely,
Taiyoon Lee

Hi Taiyoon,

First of all I suggest you check the camera settings in MAX to ensure that there is no maximum set of frame rates. In addition, you should check to ensure that the duration of exposure and shutter speeds are set so that the highest frame rate is possible. I recommend you take a look at this article in the knowledge base , which covers some troubleshooting operations when the camera acquisition rate is lower than expected.

Article:

"High refresh rate may not be achieved because the camera sends all executives. To achieve the maximum frame specified for these cameras, the shutter speed must be increased so that each image can be completed on time. It is an attribute that can be adjusted in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX). In addition, make sure that the camera is in the correct video mode. Several times for a camera reach its specified maximum frequency, it must be in Format 7 mode. »

I hope this helps!

I have a hp pavilion a705w, missing a chip called "via vt6307" I see online is for ieee 1394, if I use not any device with a firewire port to this computer if they have problems or be less safe, or that make a difference, the chip has disappeared from the motherboard.

    Hi vilig,

It is a design of single chip with full "plug and play" capabilities for integration in PC systems and electronic public, equipped with an interface HCI open and logical functions initialization and bus arbitration.

    Flexibility
Has 2 ports supporting transmission rates up to 400 Mbps, allowing the use of multiple devices broadband simultaneously.

If the chip is placed on the motherboard, it would be preferable that you contact the manufacturer for help on this issue.

  • Question about satellite for MAC via IEEE 1394 connection

    Hello

I have a laptop Equium I have connected to a box of OS x via Firewire to transfer files and use the functionality of the Macintosh to share Internet via IEEE 1394. Someone can tell me why, when I plug the Firewire cable, WinXP detects a new device that doesn't have a driver for the laptop?

The Firewire device is already installed and seems to be working properly before plugging in the cable.
    Thank you!

    Hello

Sorry, but I have never tried to connect a Mac with a Windows unit.
As I know the Mac operation use another file as units of Windows mode.

Usually, the best way is to use a LAN cable and not a firewire cable to connect the two computers. Firwwire does not support the IP or / and TCP protocols.
In this case I don't know how the conection it works without all the protocols.
However try to connect the devices via a LAN cable.

  • Transfer rate maximum by using IEEE 1394

    Hello

I use an IEEE 1394 camera and I want to know how to be able to access the maximum transfer speed. Currently in the measurement and automation program I get access only to 100 Mbps, even though I know that the camera can do 800 Mbps. The initial pilot that I installed with the software was not compatible with Labview and so I had to downgrade the software a bit to be able to control the camera using Labview.

Is there a difficulty in Labview or if they solved this problem in future versions of the software IMAQdx? I am running IMAQdx version 3.7.

    Thanking you,

    Adnan Sharief

Are you by chance using XP (SP2 or SP3) or Vista?  If so, Microsoft has messed up their 1394b driver who fell from S800 to S100 speed, if the options are:

    upgrading to Win7

downgrading the driver to the SP1 version

use a driver of substitution that replaces the Microsoft driver (if your camera brand has access to a)

    Kind regards

  • Performance IEEE 1394 Windows XP SP3 Adobe Premiere 6.0 problem

I'm trying to capture video using Adobe Premiere 6.0.  When I got Win2K installed it worked fine.  I have upgraded to Windows XP SP3 and first stopped working properly.  A clean installed Matrox RT2500 - it's the video capture card, I bought with the kit Adobe Premiere - according to the instructions, as well as first - including the 6.01 update.  Now when I connect my Sony DCRTRV520 camcorder via firewire IEEE1394 and try to capture the Hi8 video I recorded, it won't record a few frames, then stops.  Matrox video tools say that the IEEE 1394 device has stopped working.  First capture options indicate that the camcorder is not recognized.

I found a forum which indicated that the problem was with XP sp3 drivers for Texas Instruments OHCI 1394 device - indicating that the sp2 and sp3 downgraded the 1394 to S100 speed device performance.  I found an article in the database saying MS was aware of the problem and finally got that to work (KB885222) download

    http://download.Microsoft.com/download/9/0/6/906f2f67-39c4-48bc-8558-86833d4cbc16/WindowsXP-KB885222-v2-x86-enu.exe

It will not actually install on the PC I am running SP3 not SP2.  It's really frustrating because the system worked very well under windows 2000. Even worse since I have a lot of old video - not stored on DVD or transformed into films which I was hoping to work for presents for the family, this Christmas.

Anyone know of another - hotfix - download or similar which will fix this problem?

  • Cable IEEE 1394 to 800 FireWire MBP mid 2012

    Hello

Currently, I discovered an old camcorder (Samsung VP-D371) that uses a DV IEEE 1394 cable entry. I have an old cable, but does not support the USB or firewire 800 appropriate.

My question is: the Macbook Pro for mid-2012 capture the videos saved in the camcorder? --> If YES: should which cable I buy?

    -A DV to USB cable

    -A DV FireWire 800 cable

-A DV cable for love at first sight...?

Plus, do you know of any box or cable adapter for Mini DVI VHS transfer to the computer?

    Thank you

    Sincerelly,

FireWire converts freely back and forth between its various forms, simply by using the correct conversion cable (which differs from the others only by the provided number of pins and the link shape.

Most digital camcorders use the variety 4 pin, fireWire-400 without the supplied power cords.

Older Macs use the Firewire-400 variety with power, which converts directly to your camera with a cable from 6 to 4

New Macs using FireWire 800 varieties which has additional pins for drivers to push - pull on the data lines, so it has the connector 9 pins and can instantly transform 400 with a 9-6 adapter cable, or your camera with a cable adapter 9 to 4.

Some separate adapters are also available, but these should only be used in an installation permeant, because (based on anecdotal evidence) "they grow legs and disappear.

  • Problem of lack of resources for IEEE 1394

We currently have a CVS-1454 with two cameras inspections.  Due to circumstances with the inspection and machine, we try to move the inspections to the computer that communicates with the RESUME.  We get the error "the IEEE 1394 camera could not be initialized because of the lack of resources on the IEEE-1394 bus".  This error occurs only in Vision Builder.  This is not the case in MAX.

The specific features of the system are: the PC is under XP SP3 with a card PCI-8252.  There are two cameras from Basler scA1390-17fm of the inspection.  The cameras are using the 7 Format, Mode 0, 1392 x 1040.  The PCI card is new out of the box, the cameras are a couple of years.  VBAI version 3.5, LabView 8.6, MAX is version 4.6.2.

I found the articles on NI.com addressing this issue, but the recommendations have had no effect.

    1. Package size & framerate: in MAX speed can be set on a 100Mbs.  Reduce the size of the package has no effect.  It has been set to the default value to 1024, but we lowered it to 200 without effect.
    2. We installed the driver of Bus AVT Package, but when we went to the driver of the TRA, the bus went to the MAX and then Windows through the new hardware wizard found and we couldn't get the cameras is displayed correctly in the Windows Device Manager, nor did they ever appear in MAX.  All of the documentation I've seen looks that we should not need to install additional drivers for the Basler cameras.
    3. The machine does not have hotfix 885222 installed, but I contemplated trying to run this update anyway: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955408
    4. Alternate video modes: we have tried to put the cameras to any other video mode.  We can put a camera in an incredibly small resolution, but then the camera still does not work regardless of the video mode.

I hope that I put all the details there.  Any thoughts?  Should we need to install anything else after the passage in the AVT bus driver?  I was full of hope that would solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Paul

I agree with Brad, your question is probably the famous issue of Microsoft that XP SP2 and SP3 downgraded a potential to S100 speed, requiring to be restore the driver 1394 SP1 of Microsoft, or switch to Win7 where they finally solved the problem.

Or by using a substitute 1394 Microsoft compatible spare driver, such as the one offered by AVT.

But I differ respectfully with Brad that re. If the driver AVT 'worked right' or not... as it was only designed to work with AVT cameras - and will not work with Basler cameras.  This is a deliberate design feature.  Or constraint,'s point of view.  ;-)

  • Problem connecting my camcorder canon HV40 using the IEEE 1394 port.

Windows Movie Maker (and other similar programs) will not recognize my camcorder. Mini-dv Canon HV40.

I watched many forms and comments to try to solve this problem.

Looks like I've tried everything.  When I uninstall the driver and restart my computer with the camera on playback mode, the device is found, takes me through the installation wizard and peripheral band AV/C, list host controller and about things but not the Canon camera.  The ToolTip that appears down right when the new hardware is found listed the specific Canon camera along the spirit the other stuff.

On a random note, I uninstalled the IEEE 1394 and used the "Add Hardware" command to find the camera.  It worked once!  Grew up in windows movie maker and tried to download.  Along the way got a weird error 'photogalley' insert disk I have? Code of 1706.

Never could make him again.  For only "device not detected.

I get this error thing photogalley even when you do a scan.  If I hit Cancel enough that he leaves and the analysis was recorded.

I'm just smart enough to be dangerous, but eager to get this resolved.  Any help most appreciated!

I think that the way it should work if I turn my camcorder to play, the movie maker should take it from there.  Ouch who would be nice ~.

  • Want to know different speed USB and IEEE 1394

Recently, I downloaded my photos on an external hard drive, Toshiba. The first backup took 6 hours. I have always heard that a fire wire is faster. Is it useful to make a fire wire to perform this operation? I use a HP Pavilion m9040n with windows 7. I have an IEEE 1394 port in the front and the back of the computer. What rates are associated with a USB port and a cable fire? Thank you

Since you have a HP Pavilion m9040n - I guess that's when even USB2 you have there.

You can find a detailed comparison between USB2 and Firewire 1394 here: http://www.qimaging.com/support/pdfs/firewire_usb_technote.pdf

There is not only a large part of the differences imho. I tested both and in my case usb2 was a little faster.

Much has changed since the introduction of the USB3, but unfortunately it is not available on your PC.

    I hope this helps.

  • Satellite Pro M30 in IEEE 1394 error

    Hello...
I think I have a problem whit the IEEE 1394 driver

I can't find the drive to any party, and the cd of drivers do not have this driver, I don't know how to solve, and the re-installation of the S.O. do not solve me the problem...

    Anu thing?

    Tank is a lot

    Hello

you have runing OS OEM Toshiba (Toshiba Recovery CD) or you install a clean OS (XP full version)?

It would also be good to know if the IEEE 1394 port has worked in the past or if necessary directly after purchasing the laptop?

Have you checked the IEEE 1394 entry in the Device Manager? Try to reinstall the driver (I think this is a standard windows driver)!

Seems to work ok on XP.

    Any ideas?

    Hello

have you downloaded the installation instructions order? To http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com - Driver download you find also for W2k.

Also install all Quickfixes Toshiba site because the IEEE 1394 is a standard W2k driver that should work on every platform without problems!

  • Qosmio G30: Cam Sony MV does not work with port IEEE 1394

Qosmio G30-117 does not support my Sony DCR-IP5E (a micro video camera) port ieee 1394. I tried to use pinnaccle studio 9 and video ulead studio 10, but I could not see my cam because of these programs.

There is no problem if I install a new win xp media center edition (retail pack) and CDTOOLS drivers. But I want to use my setup of the Qosmio factory, I don't want to buy a new win xp media center edition.

How can I solve this problem?

    Thank you all.

    Hello Amon

I tested it with Qosmio G20 and my Sony camcorder using the same port.
I tested it with Windows movie maker, WinDVD Creator, Adobe Premiere and Ulead Media studio Pro 8.

You may believe, but each application was able to see my cam and I copied movies on the HARD drive, edited and created DVDs. I don't really know what is happening in your case, but when you connect your switch cam on game mode, and the cam must be recognized as new hardware and listed in Device Manager.

When it works well to start the applications and check again.

  • How to connect a camera Digital Video through IEEE 1394 on my A50 port?

    Hello
I tried to connect a video camera to my laptop SA50-109 through port IEEE 1394... but the laptop doesn't recognize any camera...
Although the shows 'DV-in' camera when I plug the cable witch is DV (4-pin to 4-pin) cable...
is there something I need to do before to make it work?
    any ideas... Please?

    Hi Isabelle,.

I think that the normal login procedure is: -.

    1. connect the firewire cable to the camcorder.

    2. connect the other end to the laptop.

    3. turn on the camcorder (in play rather than camera mode).

    4. Windows will detect the camcorder and will make available as input source for your capture software.

  • P30: External hard drive is not detected when you use IEEE 1394 cable

My P30 not / can not detect my newly acquired Western informed extreme Digitak Drive 320 when I connect via the firewire port. I use a 4-pin cable (which costs a fortune, by the way) who is supposed to be a way to connect this drive to a 6-pin pc.

My ieee 1394 driver seems to be called 'VIA OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 host controller".

Can someone tell me what to do? I really need to connect the FireWire drive because I need the USBs for other devices.

    Thank you!

    Hi, Lars

It is really strange. I use the external DVD drive (DL) using the same cable. I tested it with several units (old Satellite 1900, Tecra M1 and also new Qosmio G20) and everything works perfectly.

Check the power supply to the external HARD drive.

  • SP A10: XP SP2 and Maxtor IEEE 1394: need MS patch?

I have a Satellite Pro A10, hooked up to an external Maxtor 80 GB of disc over a Firewire/IEEE 1394 link.

IEEE 1394 is attached to a card PCMCIA (from Belkin) that uses the NEC 1394 chipset.

A hotfix is available from Microsoft (see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;885464) but the MS Support saying this can only come with the support of Toshiba.

Can you help me get the fix?

Without it, I can rarely access the drive.

It works fine on my Tecra M2 that accesses the same disk through its integrated 1394 interface. The problem only occurs with the NEC 1394 chipsets.

    Hello

Well, have you contacted Belkin support?
In my opinion, you should ask manufacturers of PCMCIA cards for the upgrade or this hotfix. In addition, you can check the drivers Toshiba download page for this fix. Microsoft patches are known as QFE. Maybe you will find one that suits. But unfortunately, if you are not able to find it, you will have to wait for the next service pack for Windows XP which will include this fix. :(
