Re: A few questions about the Satellite P200 - 1FC

Hi people,

died on my trusty laptop and I need a new. The P200 - 1FC seems to do the trick, and I have a few questions that I hope this is the right place for.
Is there a hardware switch (or key combination) to disable the touchpad? Y at - it an indicator of the State of the touchpad?
Is there a hardware switch to inactivate the wireless network components?
Is it possible to add physical memory to the dedicated graphics card?

I know you can Filch system memory to increase the available for graphics operations, but is it more logical to add system memory or add graphics memory.

What is the equipment for the memory locations system config factory base with 2 GB of RAM? There are 4 slots or 2? Are they all filled?

How is it difficult to "downgrade" to XP machine? Will there be XP drivers available for all components?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hello

I m P200 not owner, but I'll try to answer your questions.

> Is there a hardware switch (or key combination) to disable the touchpad?
Yes, the FN + F9 key combination should enable and disable the touchpad!

> Is it an indicator of the State of the touchpad?
Well, in the taskbar you should get a notification icon if the touchpad has been disabled

> Is there a hardware switch to inactivate the wireless network components?
Yes, the WLan switch is available on laptop computers (probably on the front).

> Is it possible to add physical memory to the dedicated graphics card?
No, the graphics card supports an its own local cache. Graphics cards support also hyper memory. This memory hyper depends on the amount of main memory. Total video memory is the sum of the local cache and Hyper memory.
But once again; physical memory cannot be added.

> What is the load out for the locations of system memory in config factory base with 2 GB of RAM? There are 4 slots or 2? Are they all filled?
There are 2 slots of memory and the laptop has been delivered with 2x1024Mo modules.
The laptop supports 4 GB max memory, but as much as I know Windows 32 bit does recognize only 3.02 GB due to the limitation of the 32 bit OS!

> How is it hard to "downgrade" to XP machine? Will there be XP drivers available for all components?
It of not difficult to downgrade the laptop to the XP operating system.
On the Toshiba site
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
You should find all the drivers for the P200 PSPB6 XP

    Hello

Here, a few questions about the number:

    (1) usually, you should get the Vista Toshiba Recovery DVD. If you didn t receive this DVD then you can order it here https://backupmedia.toshiba.eu/landing.aspx or you could install the disc of Microsoft Vista.

    (2) of course, you can do this. I think that Win XP drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

    (3) Yes, you can upgrade the RAM. For more information, see your manual or search on this forum for similar topics

    (4) maybe it s associated with the graphics driver. Check if you can update. I would recommend additional check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS

  • A few questions about the Satellite A200 - 204 (PSAE6E)

    I recently bought a Toshiba model Satellite A200 - 204 (PSAE6E) bought the 05/12/2008, the garage.
    NATIONAL ALVAREZ (Al Khoudh, Oman),

Sealed opening box, I realized that product had two questions, I immediately reported it to the dealer.
    (1) red spot on the LCD (Pixel damage)
    (2) LCD junk shows up after every 10-15 minutes of use.

    For the Point 1.*
The Service Center authorized returned the noteback quote myself
"The question of a white spot on the LCD is not the responsibility of the Department."

    For the point 2.
The dealer has made installation of o/s for 2-3 hours of surveillance.
Now ask to take me to authorized service center and keep for 2-3 days of surveillance.
only then can the material be confirmed (as appropriate).

However, I would like an honest of any opinion if this can be termed as "DEAD ON ARRIVAL" & can I request a replacement in these circumstances!

    Hey Buddy

As far as I know dead on arrival questions are always issues between business partners.
So if something is wrong with your laptop, you could request a laptop replacement. You should ask your dealer to laptop.

    Now, I want to say something about your question;

I found helpful article from Toshiba on the dead pixel problems:
[What is the maximum number allowed and the type of fault of pixel your monitor LCD Toshiba can expose by 1 million pixels? | http://support.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB5400ZD0002R01.htm]

Usually it is not big thing to do because there is a kind of tolerance of dead pixels.
Only if the number of dead pixel is larger, then the number described in the document above the ASP will replace the screen.
The best advice is to go back to the dealer and replace the notebook.

On this second volume of Toshiba, you can find more information about the tolerance of dead pixel:
[I have one or more bad pixels on my screen, I can fix? | http://support.Toshiba-tro.de/KB0/FAQ350079001NR01.htm]

    Good luck

  • Re: A few questions about the Satellite L300 - 145 (PSLB0E)

    Hello

I have a few questions that make me go nuts.

1 - this laptop what chipset is actually uses? GL960 and GM965? Since it has 2 GB max ram I would say GL960, but that one is capped at 533 mhz and 667 mhz are the Rams came with the laptop. Also the name of drivers chipset gm965, said, I don't know if it's the name for the entire group of chipsets or if it's really a GM965. And also GL960 has no integrated graphics, but this laptop only, and GM965 has an integrated graphics card.
to prove that I do things to the top you go here:
    [https://ark.intel.com/products/29830 | https://ark.intel.com/products/29830] GL960
    [https://ark.intel.com/products/29821/Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller | https://ark.intel.com/products/29821/Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller] GM965

2 - if it's a GM965 why the computer only suports laptop 2 GB ram max, while officially the suports 4 GB chipset?

3 - Why is there not a page on the website of toshiba (al less in the Web site code) which tells me the full specifications for this laptop, as if there is a page for others more recommended laptops?

    Post edited by: Kailido

Your phone has Mobile Intel GL960 Express Chipset inside and can handle with 2 GB of RAM only and you can use the monitoring modules:
    1 GB-DDR2-667-PA3512U-1M1G
    2 GB DDR2-667-PA3513U-1M2G

Unfortunately I can't answer your last question. This question is for Toshiba directly.

When I use airphone and close and open the screen I can hear a sound and the volume is up and down.

A few days ago, I opened the laptop and check all components inside, and then when I close and restart the network LAN adapter and the USB port is displayed, and now that they disappear.

Please if someone could help me

    > Yesterday I open the laptop and check all components inside
    You disassemble the laptop?
O man this affects and the guarantee of s notebook :(

However, I would also recommend to load the image of Toshiba and to perform the recovery.
I hope that this would solve the annoying problems.

I can't imagine that this could be a hardware problem, but as you probably know: everything is possible.

However, I keep fingers crossed that your questions would not appear after you set the notebook to factory condition.

    There everyone,

    1. is it possible to use these hard disks of 2 x 250 GB in RAID MODE 0 and 1?
2 - is the laptop DDR2 800 MHz, fragmented into several modules and is also able to run this speed? Standard is 667 MHz FAS so I know and maybe maximum.

    Hi mate,

I have almost the same machine, so I guess I can enlight you with my experience with this type of machine:

    1. No, unfortunately not, the second disc acts as a second HDD and nothing more. You can do software RAID which approximates longer than the share of your intention, but it s not the same as hardware RAID.
    2. no and Yes. No way to won´t CPU works with a higher frontsidebus but yes the modules work in the machine. I guess that the modules will be be underclockes at 667 Mhz to work with the designated CPU frontsidebus.
    3. If you have a SLI machine, you´re able to disable the second card.
4 No, only the Celeron and the Core2Duo.
    5. Yes, the plug has 479 pin butwhat do you mean with ball coupling?

    Welcome them

In addition, this machine is not a desktop computer... ;)

  • Recently bought a laptop computer; A few questions about the offer Upgrade to Windows 8

I have a few questions about the Upgrade of Windows 8 offer for new computers.  I recently bought a Toshiba Satellite S855-S5268 of amazon.com, which came with Windows 7 Home Premium.  Toshiba already has a beta version of drivers and utilities for Windows 8 for the S855 on their Web site.

    (1) I bought my laptop in July of this year, and I've not yet registered for 8 Windows Upgrade offer with Microsoft.  Am I still eligible to receive the upgrade, if I sign up soon?
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?
    (3) if I will be able to burn the installation media, I'll be able to erase my hard drive and do a clean install of Windows 8 (which I'd rather do, I have a lot of backups of my data).  I am aware that I would probably need to provide my product key Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM during the new installation, because it is an upgrade and not a full version; This isn't a big deal, because my Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit OEM product key is stuck at the bottom of my laptop.
    (4) my current copy of Windows 7 is activated by seeing my BIOS (I have a traditional BIOS, not a UEFI).  If I had to switch to Windows 8 and decide then I'd rather back in Windows 7, for example, a few months later, I'll be able to do that (I burned recovery of Windows 7 with the Toshiba utility disks, which I did), and Windows 7 will continue to activate by seeing my BIOS, even after the installation (and later remove) Windows 8?
    Thank you very much!

Yes, the registration period is between June 2, 2012 to January 31, 2013.
    (2) if I buy the upgrade through this offer, I'll be able to download an ISO file so I can burn the installation media, or do I need to upgrade to Windows 7?

Yes, the Upgrade Wizard of Windows 8 will allow you to create a bootable DVD or you can grab the ESD file and save it.

Yes and there are better ways to reinstall Windows 8 without using the installation disc, you can use the reset and refresh.

These steps will take you through refreshing your PC:

    · Press the Windows key + C on your keyboard to show the charms (if you use a touch screen: touch the right edge of your screen and drag your finger to the left)

    · Click settings

    · Click change PC settings

    · Click general in the left column

    · Under refresh your PC without affecting your files, click Start

Then follow the instructions that will be provided on-screen to cool your PC.

As long as you have a recovery disk which you should create or use the construction in the recovery partition, Yes, it will self activate.

  • A few questions about the use of data and Cliq

I have the cliq, however I chose to not get 3G (so I bought full fare). So I have a few questions about the phone and the use of 3G / 2 G/Edge:

1 - is possible to disable completely the 2G / 3 G/Edge? I know you can switch between them, but are anyway just tell the phone to stop using them altogether since I'm not subbed to the service?

    2. when the update takes place, I guess we'll have to reconnect motoblur and etc, but if I don't have 3 G will I have motoblur connection problems after the update? Or he keeps the latest wifi settings so that it would connect to wifi to connect. When I first got my phone it was not a problem b/c I had 3G for the first month.

I hope that makes sense, thanks!

To stop all the data, I would like to download an application called APNDroid. He cut them all down. When you log on to blur you have 3G or WIFI doe this without getting a timeout error. During the process of setting up your Blur account, you can press the menu button and set up your wifi to work, this will connect you to Blur and your phone will be connected to the blur. If I were you I would be rethinking to do a data plan since you are really losing out on most of your main features of phones. It's your choice, however.

  • a few questions about the migration of content/web content

    Hi all

I have a few questions about the migration of the website and content (from development to test) which are not specified after reading the oracle documentation.

-> When we make the site replication will be migrated content (data files).

-> when we move will contained all the ED and RD etc (any object type web site migrated).

--> are the two the necessary step for migration when we migrate web site.

    Thank you

    -Yves

--> When we make the site replication of the content will be migrated (data files).

It depends on how you do it. The tool 'Site Studio Replicator' won't move any content, only the structure of the site. The 'Manage replication Site' page can be used to migrate content with the structure of the site but I do not recommend for large sites, I use separate tasks to archive to move the content. "Backup and restore" page stores the entire site in a ZIP file, not advisable for large sites.

--> When migrate us content will be all ED and RD etc (any object type web site migrated).

Yes. It uses the metadata xWebsites field to identify the elements that belong to the site.

--> are the two the necessary step for migration when we migrate web site.

Depends on how you do it, but yes, all bits are needed.

  • A few Questions about the advanced Actions window

    Hello

I have a few questions about the progress of the Actions (using the version of track CP7)

    1. What is the function of the action to "continue?"   Out of the peak action and advance the playback cursor?

    2. What does mean this comment "Nested calls to action advanced is a nice improvement."? Is the advanced decision at the top of a page of action tabs?

    3. What is the function of the option "custom" in the IF statement - "preform action if - custom", it doesn't seem to do anything for me?

    4. where can I get information about the timeline / playhead interaction with advanced actions, i.e. where the playhead is going again at the beginning of the slide. slide custom question - display button, e.g. verification of responses, comments - when all the objects are at the beginning of the timeline. I'm looking more for the read head of infromation functionality rather than how to implement this type of question.

    Thank you

    Donal.

Continue: If an advanced standard action is triggered by a button, this will not trigger the playback head. If you want out, you can use continues. Continue can also be a choice in a conditional action, when one orders branching has nothing to special, but in advance. Continuous is also the "dummy" statement/command (this is the official name of a line in the dialog box advanced actions) If a statement has become unusable due to some reasons, it will be replaced by continue

There is no nested call stocks advanced possible right now, one of my many feature requests. It would be sort of a subroutine that you can use over and over again, instead of having to create each time when necessary.

A decision is one of the conditions to be an advanced conditional action. They allow to create more complex actions, as a loop or arrays are not possible. All decisions are executed in sequence and always.

Custom: is a combination of or but it is rather limited, because you cannot use parentheses.

I guess you'd better visit my blog if you want to learn more about the advanced actions.

    http://blog.lilybiri.com/

I also did several Webinars on stocks advanced, last this afternoon (on the sharing of the actions) for Adobe. They are all available on request.

  • A few Questions about the creative cloud

I read that the Creator Cloud connection will be released in the coming weeks, which is great. I have a few questions about the download file and the creative connection program of cloud.

I have a file which I will download. The contents of this file will be updated periodically locally. I want to do the files in this folder to stay updated between my desktop and laptop. The Creative Cloud connection program will be able to do?

If a file is changed, which is already in the cloud program will recognize the change and stay the cloud?

I guess just a little more information on exactly what will be the program Creative Connection cloud would be nice.

On the topic of storage I will be able to upgrade the standard 20 GB of storage that is available when / if needed? And how much will that be?

    Another question:

When Lightroom 4 will be available via CC and why is it not available when it was released?

Creative Cloud connection will keep files between your desktop and the Web site synchronized. You will be able to add, edit and delete files from each end and that the changes are reflected in both.

To see the connection creative cloud in action, you can watch this video of evangelist Paul Trani Adobe http://tv.adobe.com/watch/adobe-creative-suite-6-creative-cloud-launch-week/adobe-creative - cloud - tour-/.

There will be a way to get more than 20 GB of storage. Adobe Creative Cloud http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html FAQ has a question and an answer about it down:

    Buy extra creative Cloud storage?

Additional storage will be available for purchase later in 2012. If you have reached your storage limit, contact Adobe Customer Service.

Lightroom 4 will be available in a few weeks. Jeff Veen also tweeted this https://twitter.com/#! / veen/status/200810541550288896. Other Articles of Jeff on what comes to the Adobe Creative cloud here in his blog of Adobe http://blogs.adobe.com/creativecloud/coming-soon-to-creative-cloud/.

    Hello

I am about to order a Satellite P300 - 18 M and have just a few questions about this:

(Although these may apply for other similar Satellite/Equium P300.)

Is the touchpad made by / to use the Alps or Synaptics driver?

It has the Wireless N network card, is the map made by Intel or Realtec?

And also, someone has experience with face recognition software to connect?

If so, does it take a lot of time to initalise?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jack

    Hello

The P300 - 18M belongs to the PSPCCE series.
It uses the two touchpad drivers. Synaptics & Alps Electric
There is an Intel 802.11agn minicards WLan installed

The face recognition is a nice tool but local to be illuminated and you must take your face the right of the post sometimes it of not very easy

But if you face is recognized correctly that the connection should work properly

  • A few questions about the difference between the Satellite P70, L70, S70

    Hello, I have a lot of questions about the P70, L70, S70 series that come with a 1920 x 1080 panel.

    (1) what are the differences between the L70 and S70 series? With the exception of the RAM and HARD drive capacity, books seem pretty identical.

    (2) P70, L70, S70 doesn't support a 2nd HARD drive or it's just the P70 series that support?

    (3) all the three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT panels?

    (4) of the above series, which supports mSata?

    (5) all the model of each series are delivered with support from mSata? For example, it could be that L70 - a - 13 m supports mSata is not the case of the L70-a-146?

    (6) all the foregoing, are delivered with a S - ATA II or III S - ATA interface?

    (7) who is the best of these series listed? I'm trying to understand what makes the big difference of S70 to P70 except for the envelope for example.

    Thank you in advance.

    > (1) what are the differences between the series L70 and S70? With the exception of the RAM and HARD drive capacity, books seem pretty identical.

What models Sat L70 and S70 do you mean exactly? There are different L70-xxx-xxx and S70 models on the market that supports different hardware specifications.

    (> S70 2) P70, L70, support a 2nd drive HARD or is - it just the series P70 that support?
As you can see in this [Sam P70 HDD replacement document, | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3903II0000R01.htm] the P70 series supports the 2nd drive Bay HARD, BUT even if there is a 2nd HARD drive Bay, this does not mean that you can use the 2nd HARD drive. In the case where the 2nd HARD drive Bay are equipped with HARD drive connector, you can use the 2nd HARD drive

I also found the [Sam L70/S70 HDD replacement | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/CRU3703HG0000R01.htm] the document on the Toshiba page and there I see this 2nd HARD drive Bay is not available

(> 3) all three (P70, L70, S70 series) come with the same TFT panels?
See point 1). Different P70, L70, S70 models were equipped with different material parts.

(> 4) of the series above, which takes in charge mSata?
As far as I know that some P70 models are equipped with an mSATA SSD of 256 GB.

(> 5) do all the model of each series are delivered with support mSata? For example, it could be that L70 - a - 13 m supports mSata is not the case of the L70-a-146?
See point 4) not all models supports the same hardware specifications

(> 6) all of the above, come with a S - ATA II or III S - ATA interface?
I don t think that SATA III is supported. I guess it would be SATA II

(> 7) which is the best of these series listed? I'm trying to understand what makes the big difference of S70 to P70 except for the envelope for example.
Not easy to answer because there are too many models released in Europea.
And not all models are available in each country. So I guess you will have to look for the models that have been released in your country.

  • A few questions about the upgrade on Satellite A300-144

Sorry for the typos, English is not my mother tongue.
I want to ask some questions about the upgrade of a300-144.

    * Some info first.*

    CPU: T2370 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/34445/Intel-Pentium-Processor-T2370-1M-Cache-1_73-GHz-533-MHz-FSB]).
    Chipset: GM965 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/29821/Intel-82GM965-Graphics-and-Memory-Controller]).

    * Questions.*

    1. my frequency of laptop memory at 533 MHz, supports 667 MHz memory controller, memory modules can work at 667 MHz. Is - this because CPU FSB 533 MHz frequency and new processor at 667/800 MHz FSB will fix it or it is hardcoded in the BIOS?

2 Intel said that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?

3 I know, taken of my CPU is μFCPGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 ([http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB]) is a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

The speed of the memory is related on the material. This means that the FSB is responsible for the limitation.
If the FSB would allow support 667 MHz then the memory would also at this speed.

    > 2. Intel says that the size of max memory for my chipset is 4 GB (2 x 2 GB), but Toshiba says that only 2 GB (2 x 1 GB), who is right?
The memory depends on the chipset. So if the chipset supports 4 GB of RAM, you should be capable of this move to 4 GB of RAM

    > 3. I know, my CPU is? FC-PGA-478 aka socket P, max FSB 800 MHz, max 35 W TDP, so T9500 (http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB) will be a compatible processor or there are some limitations in the BIOS?

It might be possible that the new processor would be fully supported by the BIOS, but in most cases it should not be a problem if the chipset would support the new processor.
But as far as I know the upgrade of the CPU is not supported by Toshiba or any other manufacturers of portable and its your own risk to run laptop with the new processor.
