Re: Can Satellite L30-106 - I switch the RAM to 2 GB?

Hello
I want to upgrade the Ram in my Toshiba L30-106 running Vista. The vehicle currently has 2 * 512 MB modules. In the specifications it says it can handle maximum 2 GB of Ram. Is this correct?

Can I upgrade using 1 * 2 GB or 2 * 1 GB modules? Dual channel RAM will make a significant difference?

I can say I should use modules DDR2-533 PC4200. I'll use Kingston, but they have Toshiba modules (start with KTT) and regular ones (KVV). It is important that I use?

Claus

Yes, you can upgrade the Satellite L30 to 2 GB.
In addition, you should buy modules with 1 GB because so you can use dual channel mode. This makes the theoretical specifications a little faster.

For the upgrade, you can buy RAM DDR2-533.
The part number for a 1 GB module is PA3411U-1M1G

    Hello!

I put t know how much it costs to upgrade to 4 GB of RAM. This according to the modules that you can buy and where buy you it.
Upgrade the RAM, you need modules with DDR2 (667 MHZ) specification.

And change the RAM is quite easy. Consult your user manual, you can find instructions and pictures how to do this. ;)

  • Can satellite 2430-301 - I switch the RAM to 2 GB

    Hello

I am owner of a Toshiba Satellite 2430 301 with 512 MB of RAM. I thought I read that my laptop can support 1 GB only, but I would like to install 2GB.
What is the cause of the restriction, if there are?

In addition, DDR RAM-technology, wouldn't be good of DDR2 modules as well?
(But then, given that the FSB has only 533 MHz, it would be useful anyway...) ?

Thanks for your help in advance,

    M.

Do you really think you can upgrade the RAM to 2 GB on this oldie?
    Forget it!

I think you can use max 1 GB RAM (2 x 512 MB). More is not possible and there is a restriction.

If you n t believe that check your type of chipset and compare the properties of chipset with the Intel page information.

By the way; you use PC2100 modules

  • Satellite L30-106: Power Saver 0x7E error

    Hi all
I own a Toshiba Satellite L30-106. I got it from Windows Vista to Windows XP pro, I installed all the Xp drivers provided by the Toshiba site.

Everything is going well except for the Toshiba Power Saver utility, I can't install it, it still gives this error: error Power Saver 0x7E. Same thing happens when I want to uninstall it. How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance

    Hello

I hope that you have installed the power saver right!
The laptop is one of the series PSL33E. Therefore, you should choose the drivers and tools for this series!

In addition it is very important to install the driver Toshiba and utilities in the right order!
Then open the installation instructions and follow the lines of this guide!

Please make sure that you have already installed "TOSHIBA common Modules or / and TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility" ahead!

    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Which has a list of drivers, including those of Windows xp to the L30. Before I try to make the change, I wanted to just make sure that it is possible and any issues i should know about.

  • Satellite L30 - how to open the Wireless card slot to upgrade the Wlan card

Y at - it a special way to open the card slot on a Satellite L30 wireless or should I just use a USB adapter wireless... because the crack is there but I can't open it and USB we're boring.

    Thanks for the help...

    GMC

There is no special way. Just 2 screws...
So, if you have a wireless mini-pci network card, then you can open the lid, insert it and use it. But be sure to unscrew the screw more than necessary. :)

And if you´re not able to open it, then you will need to use your boring usb adapter. ;)

  • Satellite L30-106 and LBA48 support

    Hello everyone,

I wonder if the L30-106 is compatible LBA48, I bought this one equipped with a 60 GB hard drive and I intend to change it to a 500 GB hard drive.

I use Ubuntu and can just find a way to know if LBA48 is supported in this model. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

At your L30 SATA HDD? I m not 100% sure of this, but if the HARD drive is SATA, interface you can enhance it with 200 or 300 GB without any problem.

You can upgrade the HARD drive, but I put t know if it should be 500 GB.

  • Satellite L30-113: conflict in the device after downgrade XP Manager

    Hello

I have two questions to ask. I bought my Toshiba Satellite L30-113 a few months ago - it was loaded with Vista, but I was upset by the performance and downgraded to Windows XP.
Since then, I noticed that I had little conflict in my "Device Manager" and one more that I couldn't resolve is this: "Modem device on High Definition Audio Bus". Can someone please tell me how to solve this conflict, or should I just 'disable' this?

My other question is about the time in 'Hibernation' mode - when it comes out of hibernation and it says "Recovery Windows" at the end of the indication line (it shows the loading bar) it just stops and nothing happens. The strange thing is that sometimes it loads Windows and sometimes it doesn't.

    Thank you for your answers...

    Hello!

You can download the Microsoft's KB835221 hotfix, it should solve your problem. If this does not work, try to download the latest audio driver here:
    http://www.Realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?langid=1&PNid=24&PFID=24&level= 4 & Conn = 3 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false #High % 20Definit % 20Audio % 20Codecs ion
I can't answer your second question, because I've never had a problem with hibernation. Have you installed the drivers properly?

  • Can satellite A300-15J - I exchange the faulty card?

I think I can have exposed my soundcard of the A300 to too high voltage to the 3.5 mm jack. There is no device for playback/record listed (only connexant HD) and a hardware scan detects any device (Vista). I have a system dual boot, and the same thing happens if I boot into Win 7.

When I tried to start this morning there is a static sound from the speakers and white screen. A new round of power started the laptop with no sound coming from the speakers.

Anyone know if there is a replaceable module of its edge, or if the sound is integrated on the motherboard? Is it profitable to repair a Board if the sound is integrated? Is it possible that there is just a fuse or a discreet component damaged? I think that there is no provision in the BIOS or any device management utility.

    > I think I have exposed my soundcard of the A300 to too high voltage to the 3.5 mm jack.
Out of curiosity, but what did you do exactly? I mean, how it is possible to damage the sound card via this port?

In any case, I m not 100% sure, but I think that sound card is onboard, and you will not be able to exchange it. I m afraid entire motherboard must be replaced. That's the big problem now, and I don't really know what should be the best solution for you. If possible try to contact an expert for electronics and explain the situation.

And there is another problem: where to get the sound module? It is not so easy for machines to find such components.

  • Can satellite L300-11 - I replace the CPU for the Core 2 Duo T7100?

I have laptop Toshiba L300-11F. It integrates CPU INTEL CELERON CPU 550 @ 2 GHz, socket 479P. Can I replace this processor on the socketP478 of core2duo T7100 and know if it will work on 800 MGz?

    Hello

I doubt that you could use this new processor.
One main thing is important; the chipset of the motherboard must support the new processor. If the chipset will not support the new processor then you can not use it.
In addition, you can use a CPU with a different outlet

As indicated in your ad, the new processor supports different socket and therefore it will not match with the motherboard.

    Hello

Can connect you to your home Wlan?

Vista OS supports a new network security features and I guess the wrong settings are responsible for this problem.
You need to inspect a little.

I put t know if you have enough experience Vista to do this, but I found this page useful. Check:

  • Re: Can Satellite P200-036024 - I put the CPU and the GPU?

    Hi all

I had a quick search through the forum and have not found answered this already, so: I have a P200-036024, with the stock Intel Core 2 Duo T7500. I recently updated the RAM and HARD drive, and now I'm interested in upgrading the processor. Exactly what series of processors is compatible with the motherboard, or what is the most powerful CPU I could put in this laptop?

In addition, two other questions before I forget:
    1. the HDMI port on the left of this laptop - is this Type A or Type B (or C)?
    2. If the video card (ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400) can be improved as well?

    Cheers all,.
    DMcG

Upgrade the CPU is a delicate process, the problem is that the BIOS can not recognize the CPU correctly, or the system may overheat.

Your best option would be to look at the other P200 in the same range (the other models PSPB6A-xxxxxx) and use this CPU. This way you can be sure that the CPU is working.

As for the VGA card, its not expandable because the BIOS is designed to work with a particular VGA card, more they use non-standard designs so you can just buy a faster card and install it.
