Re: Equium A200 - Code 39 on DVD player

My DVD drive came recently with code 39 and shows that of gone through device driver... I looked a few post on the Publisher of the registry... but how do I know which one is right for my model?

Hello

The solution given by Microsoft is not specific model and if you use Vista operating system please check this document http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/FAQ8101LA0000R01.htm

Just follow the instruction given by Microsoft.

Hello any help would be appreciated... I'm not very technical so please keep things simple!

    Laptop: Equium A200-1VO
    Model: PSAF5E
OS: Windows Vista Home Edition 32-bit

My laptop won't play is no longer DVD or CD
Work ok bootable CD but when I insert any other they seem not be recognized the drive. I tried to play original movie DVD and CD on a Toshiba DVD player, multimedia Realplayer and VLC Player. I don't get an error message and I see "DVD RW Drive (d :))' in my 'work'

I searched other threads and followed the advice given. But nothing has worked, so far, I have:
    -removed upper and lower filters
    -updated audio driver
    -update the BIOS
-reinstalled realtek High Def Audio Driver

    All advice welcome! Help, please!

    Confused chick

    Hello!

I agree with Akuma. Normally, it looks like the upper and lower filters. You must then maybe try again and read all the instructions in the Microsoft document.

I'm pretty sure that it is a software issue because you can boot from the CD and so I doubt that it is a hardware problem.
Maybe you should try to update Windows and check for yellow exclamation marks Device Manager.

    (b) what would be the new replacement drive region code?

    Hello

You must talk to people bad at HP since it is not Windows that
decides what optical drives of regions are defined.  HP provides probably hundreds

    It is by design.

  • Code 19: Unrecognized DVD player

My DVD player suddenly stopped working on my laptop, literally from one day to the next. I tried running the kb314060 of Mr. Fixit, but when he tried to reinstall the driver, it failed.

I don't know exactly what to do now...

    Hello

19 code: Windows cannot start this hardware device because its information of configuration (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. To resolve this problem, you can first try running a Troubleshooting Wizard. If this does not work, you must uninstall and reinstall the hardware device.

Step 1: Download and run Microsoft fix it.
    1. visit the website, download and run Microsoft fix it following: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems
    2. once the tool is running, restart the computer and check the functionality of the device.

    2. expand CD/DVD-ROM drives.
    3. double-click on the sub element.
    4. click on the driver tab.
    5. click on Roll back driver.
    6. click on ok.
7 restart the computer and check the functionality of the CD/DVD ROM.

Step 3: Restore the computer to an earlier time when it was working fine.
    1. open the system restore by clicking the Start button, all programs, accessories, clicking System Tools, and then click System Restore.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  • Equium A210-17I - broken CD/DVD player

Well, a few months back, I tried to install the game SPORE. As I put the game in my portable CD player, it makes a terrible noise, which freaked me out and made me remove the game never to install it again.

Quick transfer to a month or more later, I read about a program called Securom break peoples CD players.
I had not thought much of it, until I noticed that more and more of my records would not load, stupidly, I just it shrugged off tension and don't think much about it (I use this laptop in my classes so I have time to send it took off for repairs) had a bad experience with my old laptop when he disappeared for 4 months).

Today however was the last straw, I need to restore my system, he was a bit lazy and I just felt like if it was time to clean up and start again only to find when I insert my restore disk my CD player will just not load, I have it cleaned, done everything nothing starts from it.

I tried to restart, and then start the CD by pressing C, just a white screen. Nothing loaded, I actually had the disc just to make my laptop to load windows.

I'm quite annoyed because my year warranty went out last month. I know that CD players are difficult to replace so I'm worried, I can do.

Do toshiba repairs out of warranty?

    Hello

Yes, the Toshiba authorized service partner in your country could replace the CD/DVD drive, even if the warranty has expired.
Of course, you pay for the replacement if the guarantee is not valid

    See you soon

  • Error code 39 on DVD player?

My dvd drive is not being recognized. Device Manager gives a code 39. When I try to update the driver, I said that I have the latest driver available. Equipped with Vista.

    Hello

Code 39 means that the driver is corrupted or missing.

Please make all below even if you have done some before as it is often the set of operations which solves
    the question.

    Try this - Panel - Device Manager - CD/DVD - double-click on the device - driver tab - click
Update the drivers (this will probably do nothing) - then RIGHT click the drive - UNINSTALL - REBOOT
This will refresh the default driver stack. Even if the reader does not appear to continue below.

Then, work your way through these - don't forget the drive might be bad, could be a loose cable or
slight corrosion on the contacts (usually for a laptop) and other issues.

Another possibility is that the cables are loose. Remove ALL power, then make sure that the cables in both
ends. Remove and replace, do not just tight. For laptops, you can often clean power and
contacts data with a pencil eraser.

    --------------------------------------------------------------

Also check with your system manufacturer to see if there are any updated drivers for your DVD. Or even if it
are you can reinstall the 'old'. Many use Windows default drivers however some special aura
ones. Also check the website of the manufacturer of the car.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

    Hello

I was wondering if someone could help me find a replacement of CD/DVD for a Toshiba Satellite A200-1VO. do I need to export the model exact same DVD player or is there another appropriate drive that works?

I know how to mount the drive for the installation is not necessary

    Thank you very much

    Nick

    Hello!

I also replaced my DVD drive on an older Toshiba laptop and I can tell that you need to install a DVD player that is listed in the user manual.
If you can ensure that the new drive works because the reader has the same pinout.

If you don t have the user manual, you can download it on the Toshiba site. ;)

  • Equium A200 - problems with the CD/DVD-RW and Realtek HD driver

I'm having some trouble with my Equium A200-1VO.

First of all, I can't get the CD/DVD-RW to write any dics. The Player opens also from time to time.

Secondl, I just downloaded and installed the latest driver Realtek HD audio, under the guidance of Toshiba, to see that when I plug my headphones the sound always comes out of my laptop speakers.

    Any help or thoughts?

    Thank you

Now, he can be really problematic. If you use your own installation of the OS, no one can say with certainty what can be the problem. Each laptop manufacturer, including Toshiba, offer recovery image installation and in using the factory settings, everything should work well. These recovery images are tested and they offer all the hardware and software features.

Maybe you should install Vista using recovery media supplied and check if all these problems are happening again. If yes then we can talk about the unusual and serious issues.

My laptop seems to have decided to stop reading data disks.
However, there is no problem with the audio CD, but when I insert a data disc such as the software considers the disk is empty and try to format the drive.
I searched internet day for solutions and tried without success to the following:

Removed the UpperFilters and LowerFilters in the registry.
    Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers.
    Bought DriverWhiz (waste of money!)
Tried to access disc command prompt that generated the message "incorrect function".
Tried to use the enforcement function and access an exe file that I know is on the disk, but it comes up saying I need to format the drive
    Uninstall service packs
