Re: Get a wifi card internal to a Satellite P20-203?

Hi there - newbie here so please be gentle as I should know better *.

I would get an internal wifi card for P20 - 203 my father - I read here: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?messageID=61202 - the slot takes a mini PCI - does that mean this Yellowtail should work or do we need the "Toshiba" one?

(* I should know better because I'm an electronic engineer, but I have not fiddled with a lot of PC, so I don't know the caveats on PCI, mini PCI etc. etc.)

Hello

Satellite P20 S203 is certainly Wi - Fi level and according to the specification of Toshiba (at this time), you can use two compatible WIFI adapters:
Wireless LAN card PA3212U-4MPC (Agere 802. 11b) and PA3273U-2MPC (Atheros 802.11ab).

The card you want to use is new product, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work. Just try everything and if there is a problem of compatibility you can return.

    First question;
Why you n t follow the first thread?
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=25158

I discovered that the WiFi network is optional on the A30-203. If you can update the laptop with a minPCI wireless network card.
After further investigation, I discovered that the Wireless LAN Card Kit PA3212U-1MPC may be compatible with your laptop.

This can be ordered from the service provider authorized in your country!

PS; I didn t find any info if your 3362U-1MPC is supported or not.

    Hey there,
    I had two questions today.

I wanted to get a new card for my Toshiba Satellite P20 3D
I don't want a new laptop since it is my baby.
My current 3d card is a nVidia Go 5200 32 MB.
I'm hoping to get 128 MB, although I'll just 64.

I am also looking for a new keyboard.

    Any links would be appreciated.

    Hi kei.

You can sometimes increase the amount of allocated RAM tom your graphics card by changing the UMA setting in your BIOS (at least you can with a Phoenix BIOS). If you access your configuration of the BIOS check to see if you can see (usually on the first page of the installation options). My BIOS A30 gives options of 16 MB, 32 MB, 64 Mb (default) and 128 MB.

    Hello

Is it possible to change the wifi card internal of my computer toshiba laptop u200-163, I can change the hard disk?

    Thank you.

If you use the compatible WiFi card I see no problem, but in my opinion, there is no reason for this. I guess your laptop comes with WLAN card 802.11a/b/g and using the g standard data transfer is fast enough and you avoid any problems if you use your laptop for work.

  • Satellite A30 - I want an internal WiFi card

    Hello

I am looking for a mini wifi internal card for my laptop A30, I know its old, but I just want to do, can anyone recommend a good market to get?
    EBay is an option?

Can I use any internal mini wifi card or?

    Thank you

    Hello!

Have you checked if you have a WiFi switch on your laptop? If you have such a change, you can buy and use an internal WiFi card.

You must use a WiFi card that supports the 802. 11b standard, for example Intel.

Of course you can search on eBay and a map of second hand too because some Satellite A30 was shipped with the wireless card.

  • Satellite 1905-S301: internal WiFi card does not

I have a Satellite 1905-S301 laptop. I just bought a new Intel Pro/Wireless Mini PCI WiFi card because I discovered that my laptop is WiFi active (I have had it for two years and did not know this).
I installed the card, attached to the antenna to it and installed the software. The computer recognises the card, but he won't find not all networks that are out there and it gives me the error that I need to turn on the hardware for the WiFi switch, even when it is turned on.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hello

On the right side of the laptop, you should find a WLan hardware switch.
It must be on the use of the Wlan card.
Also, try to use the FN + F8 key combination to activate the Wlan antenna.

  • After a clean install of Windows Vista, Intel Wifi card is installed and activated, but does not detect the network.

Wireless card not working after a clean install of Windows Vista

I did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion of 32 bits. I've completely updated Windows via Service Pack 2. Given that the clean install, my wireless card, Intel (r) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, was not able to detect all the networks. The Wifi card is listed under NICs as being installed and activated. the hardware on my laptop Wifi switch is set on "on" and the light is blue, indicating that the card is working.

I can connect to the internet if I connect physically my computer to the modem with an ethernet cable wireless, so the modem isn't the problem. Other computers can connect to the wireless modem, so my Wifi modem functionality is not the problem. The problem with my computer.

I tried to uninstall the Intel driver and reboot my computer with the generic driver. Install the driver generic, but my wireless card has not always worked. I then ran an update of windows, nothing helps.

I tried to install the "Intel® PRO /? Wireless and WiFi Link"drivers for Windows Vista (32-bit 13.1.1.1 the latest version and the previous version 12.4.4.5 32-bit) for the Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN directly from the Intel Web site at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Wireless+Networking&ProductLine=Intel%C2%AE+WiFi+Products&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Wireless+WiFi+Link+4965AGN. The map didn't always work with a driver.

In addition to the pilots, I also downloaded a tool of diagnosis of Intel (Intel® PROSet /?) Utility of WiFi wireless connection for Windows Vista 32 -? Bit). Said diagnostic tool the WiFi card is not installed or enabled, however, Device Manager maintains that he is also installed and active.

Is there a problem that causes Device Manager to say that all is well with the card, but does not map to realize that they diminish the radio signals? Everything's fine, diagnostic, it just does not detect networks around him. Help, please.

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.
