Re: Has Satellite R630-131 MXM slot?

Hello.
Wanted to know more about mxm presence slot in model Satellite R630-131.

Generally Exchange or upgrade on Toshiba laptops graphic card is not possible. So I don t think that your model of laptop has an MXM slot.

What you can do is to contact the nearest service Toshiba and ask technicians. They have Maintenance manuals and graphic diagram of the motherboard so they can help you with this.
As much as I know this info is not available on the official pages of Toshiba.

  • Screen on my Satellite R630 has a strange resolution.

The screen of my laptop went much paler and more contrast. For example, photos on FaceBook are pale yet contrasted so that people look at oranges.
This website the text more pale is also very low and difficult to read. East of the sidebar to drag and down its barely visible, what can I do on three lines in it!

It is certainly not something iv pressed or because I was not on the parameters of the screen for centuries, just checked and they are all as usual.
IM so worried, everythings much harder to read and I've only had this laptop since Christmas.

Its a Satellite R630 passing PLEASE HELP!

Have you noticed that using the browser only, or is it a kind of general display problem?
Did you notice this when you enter the BIOS when you see the Toshiba welcome screen or when Windows loads?

  • Satellite R630 - integrated webcam does not

    Hello

I hope someone can help me.

My built-in webcam on my Toshiba Satellite R630 spontaneously stopped working in the last two weeks.

    I tried:

-Check if it is enabled in the BIOS and there is no option to select a webcam here.
-Restore my laptop computer to a previous state when the camera worked. This no longer works.
-Updated the driver for the webcam - it installs the driver but then it disappears and nothing happens.

A few things that it might help to know:

-In Device Manager, "imaging devices" are missing, so I can't find the driver for the webcam here.
-J' used to get a pop-up whenever I turned on my laptop which was loading a webcam bluetooth but saying that he could not. This stopped happening; I think I turned it off in msconfig.
-It is not a hardware problem
-Yesterday, I had a weird time breakthrough - I downloaded an app on my phone to try to use it as a webcam through bluetooth. I had activated bluetooth on my phone and laptop. I plugged my phone into my laptop and the pop-up the camera bluetooth (see previous point) came, but this time worked without the error message. However, instead of my phone works like a webcam, the blue light came next to my integrated webcam and who has started working. I thought it was fixed then all closed and ejected my phone and webcam stopped working again. I tried to repeat this sequence, but with no joy.

I'm really frustrated and ideas. Can anyone help?

    Hello

If imagine device isn't listed in Device Manager, it means that the module is not found. Even if the driver is not installed, the module must be included in the BIOS as imagine device, unknown device, etc.
    But this isn't the case

So I think there are two possibilities: the module's fault or the connection between the module and the motherboard (Controller) isn t put in place.

As far as I know the internal webcam module is connected to the USB controller.
If the connection drops (cable) the module will not be recognized in Device Manager

From my point of few, it must be a nuisance material

  • Where to buy parts for Satellite R630-155?

Back to Christmas, I stupidly pulled my lap top on the floor to break the case and the hard drive.

I got the case and the hard drive replaced with a local pc due to recommendations repair company.
Unfortunately my confidence was misplaced and 5 months I still do not have a decent wifi pick up and I also discovered that the camera more light built into the front of the screen of the cover is missing.
I've been to the repairman but seems empty and not joy.

I know that to take a glance that it is has taken a multi white plastic for at least the camera
So nobody knows where can I buy spare parts if all goes well for the missing camera and light and the Wifi component.

At the moment I am hated to part with the R630 because it proved invaluable when traveling because it is light and before Christmas 2012 ideal to pick up wifi signals in hotels and cruise ships.

Secondly, I am in September who travel outside China, hong kong, Japan, Singapore &

Can anyone recommend a modern equivalent not so expensive for the Satellite R630 I can search and buy?

I look around before repairs and might find something equivalent on £1,800.

    Hope someone can help
    Thank you very much
    Rossnagh

It is very difficult to find these parts for laptops, especially for new models of portable computers.
Best place to get these things is Toshiba authorized provider. They can order these parts but I don't know if they'll sell it for you or they only order it if they can repair your laptop.

You can try to contact ASP and ask for help. Addresses and phone numbers, you can find on http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/ASP_SUPPORT/

It is not easy to give you some good advice on other phones but I think for the trip and extremely mobile use series Z Satellite can be very good alternative for you.

Check the Toshiba website for your country a little and pick up some info on equipment and the price of course.

  • No 3D video on external projector not connected to the Satellite R630 - 14H

    I bought a projector that supports 3D 1080 p videos.
I plugged in my laptop Toshiba Satellita R630 - 14H with a HDMI cable which should also support 3D.
I used reading software that should also support 3D and downloaded a few demos to the SBS format.

But when I play these videos, they are really displayed side by side and not as 3D.
When I say the beamer from 2D to 3D, it always says that the entrance is not in 3D.
The program of Intel graphics driver that has been pre-installed lists a 3D option.

What version of HDMI the R630 - 14 H uses?
    Support 3D-video?
    Am I missing something else?

    > I plugged into my laptop Toshiba Satellite R630 - 14H with a HDMI cable which should also support 3D.

Where did you get or find information about the 3D on this laptop support?
Technical data Toshiba Satellite R630 - 14 H says that this support unit unit internal Intel HD graphics.

Sorry mate but this isn't 3D capable graphics card and I don t think 3D release would be possible.

To be able to use an external 3D monitor or projector, you would need a laptop with compatible 3D graphics card. For example a GPU nVidia Driver compatible 3D display, (NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit) 3D glasses and 3D compatible monitor or projector (120 Hz).

  • Satellite R630-105 - touchpad freezes in time

    Hi all

    Toshiba Satellite R630-105 model.
When writing for some time (using the keyboard) without any regulated touchpad icon character appears on the screen, and sometimes the temporary blockage appears.

At the same time, I use a USB mouse, and I disabled the touch pad using the Fn + F9 Tin order to eliminate the problem.
Disable the USB mouse using the internal keyboard to score in the option panel-> mouse menu.

Currently installed Synaptics 15.0.12.0 driver version dated the 11.03.2010.
I also tried the drivers install later, but don t get a good result.

I tried the solutions but it doesn't this link:

If I understand your question, the touchpad icon appear while typing and this can be solved temporarily disable the touchpad by pressing the FN + F9.
    Is this correct?

To my knowledge, you can disable the touchpad while typing by selecting the option in the control panel > mouse-> tab device pointing (in some cases its Advanced tab)-> setting button

There are area called operations during key entry
And here, you can choose the option is called tapping to disable and turn off scroll function

  • Satellite R630-141 - view becoming over-saturated/bright

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite R630-141 running Windows 7. During the last two weeks, I noticed that I had the machine will be during the suddenly very too saturated color and very high contrast. This makes it impossible to see some fine lines (e.g. the gray contours stars in gmail disappear completely) and become completely distorted faces and bands of color. Restarting the computer solves the problem. I have the latest drivers for the graphics (8.15.10.2189)

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and if I should send it the laptop in return?

    Thank you

    Hi cueball,.

This strange s version the pre-installed Windows 7 in Toshiba or is it your own installation that you are using right now?

This probably has nothing to do with the display driver that it would be interesting to know what is happening with an external monitor. So if you connect an external monitor, you may notice the same problem or everything is ok?

    Hello

Laptop supports processor Mobile Intel HM55 Express Chipset and the Intel Core i5 - 450 M processor.

    Virtualization depends on the CPU.
If the CPU compatible Intel VT virtualization should be possible.

According to Intel, the Intel Virtualization Technology (VT - x) page is possible

  • Impossible to install W7 UEFI on Satellite L875-131

    Hello
I downloaded the latest Bios (6.70) for your support and flashed my bios.
There is no way that I can install W7 UEFI on the laptop.
I disabled Secure Boot, my USB key bootable with W7 or W7 boot my dvd properly.
    Windows shows files upward.
Then on the 'Starting Windows' screen, the screen is stuck, nothing happens.

My brackets are great, I have used several and when you pass the UEFI in CMS mode, I could make a correct installation, as at the end of loading, I see my scores and choose where to install W7.

But as my only HD GPT formatted, there is no way that I can install without losing W8, and I don't want to delete all my partitions.

I'd appreciate a solution for this problem...

EDIT: I can also add that the installation process works very well under W8, when choosing a free for install partition.
Windows copy all files, and then when the system restarts once again, I'm still stuck on the "Starting Windows" screen

I would be grateful to know if the problem occurs on all satellites L875-131, or if my phone is defective.

If anyone has a work around for this problem, I would really appreciate ;)

    Thank you very much

If Windows 8 is preinstalled on your laptop and you want to downgrade the OS from Windows7, certain changes must be made in the UEFI FW until you are, be able to install Windows 7.

[Changes in the UEFI (BIOS) firmware for a successful downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7 | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB2C03F80002R01.htm]

_Steps to follow for the downgrade to Windows 7: _
Create a recovery media for your Windwos 8 system before any further step, otherwise you will not be able to reinstall Windows 8 OS on your device!
Make the changes in the FW UEFI (BIOS) before installation
Install the Windows 7 operating system on your laptop

I also found another doc on installing Win 7 on Win 8 units

  • Re: Satellite R630 - HDMI - the image on the TV was not whole screen

    Hi all

I just tried to connect my Satellite R630 with my LCD TV with a HDMI cable. However, the image on the TV was not all screen, with the HDMI 1 port (my TV has 3 HDMI ports), there was still the black space of 1.5 inches.

I was wondering if there is anything I missed? The connection with the TV was very good with a good old VGA cable. Thanks for any advice.

    Tim

Have you tried to play with all available display settings?
I put t know who don't Satellite R630 you exactly and what graphics card is inside, but check it please all advanced options to show the settings first.

  • Replacement of keys on satellite R630

A key has popped out of the keyboard and I can't put it back on. I don't know if I've lost something of directly under the tile to help him fix the frame surrounding the moss green button. I tried to search online for a Visual to help me, but I can't find any keyboard that looks the same as that on my satellite R630 13D

Anyone know of a link to a Visual / video etc.? Or tell me whether I should have a different "bits" - and if so where I could buy them?

    Thank you
Trainer - in the United Kingdom.

Under the key cap is low (white mechanism) and if the plug is OK you need to place correctly and press gently downwards. You will hear a click and it should be up again.

    Doesn't work for you?

If something is damaged I n t think you can replace a single key but the entire keyboard.
