  My Satellite P200D has Vista Premium o/s, was about 5 years old now

  Has worked well enough until the last of three months or more and developed a problem of restart.

  Hit restart button and it stops, then after several attempts get it at startup and on the screen that shows the internal PC Repair or Normal startup mode option. The only way that I can get to the login screen is to click on Normal mode as the automatic repair option does not work.

  Has decided to switch to Win7 to see if that would solve the problem.

  Now there is another problem, and it's the login admin password screen. The cursor flashes and any attempt to type password does not visibly show the words you type.

  Also tried and external usb keyboard does no difference

• Satellite P200D - 11L sound problem - sound gets distorted

  Hello!
  I bought a Satellite P200D - 11L a couple of weeks and when I got it sound was perfect.
  There was good amount of bass and distortion-free when I turned the volume to 100%. Harman/kardon speakers are cool :) But now the sound is distorted. It started week ago.

  When I try to listen to music (in windows media player and winamp, there is no difference) it is very distorted through the laptop speakers, but on my helmet, it is good. Also, same song/songs are normal on my desktop PC.
  I don't know what the problem is so please help. I tried to restore windows with Toshiba product recovery disc but same problem is still there. If the speakers are in some way damaged, because on my sound headset is OK? And Yes, I told you on my sound headset is OK, but it is a little bit different than it was when I got the laptop...

• Satellite P200D turns off suddenly!

  I own a Satellite P200D since November and a few days now, I am facing a strange problem. My laptop died suddenly in different times.

  In January, I decided to go back to XP, because Vista are always terrible, and I found all the necessary drivers but the graphics. For my Mobility Radeon HD2400 * I used the official driver from ATI (Radeon HD2400 series) * after having it modified with Mobility Modder of Driverheaven to make "Mobility Radeon" and not only "Radeon".

  A few days now, when I play poker or other, my laptop produces high heat and suddenly off (probably when overheating reached its maximum limit). Are the drivers the problem?

  If Yes, where can I find the good? Or is it because my cooling system does not work? (The 2 radiators work very well)

  However, even if my laptop is overheating, should not reduce my card capacity to lower the temperature? I can't know.

  I have the same model of laptop 8 months now and I use it everyday for my business. Writing is my main work with laptop and my hands are placed permanently on the cover of the silver (left and right of the touchpad). I looked now what it looks like on my laptop and I see both sides are a bit dirty. I used the wipes to glasses and now the laptop is as good as new.

  Coverage of this silver is completely clean and really like new. Try to do the same thing.

  The Toshiba European page doesn't provide the drivers XP especially for this series.
  But there are a few other P200 series and XP drivers were already released.

  Then why you n t check the hotkey Utility released for other laptop P200 series.
  Maybe it will work, if not, then there is nothing to do but wait until the drivers have been released.

  This series uses the same graphics driver ATI as the Satellite P200D-12f.

  It is a Toshiba original graphic driver and you should only use the Toshiba GPU drivers

  Hello everyone I am a new owner of a satellite P200D very happy at the moment.

  My problem is when I try to put a video on youtube for the full mode screen I only hear, I visited the support page.

  -Right click on the drive flash streaming video
  -then click on settings and display settings under (first tab) you must clear the use hardware acceleration

  You can install Vista when you want to. Why you want to format the HARD drive? You don t want to use the factory settings?

• Matte screen on Satellite P200D-139

  My father has a laptop Toshiba Satellite P200D-139 and today a shot then screen is just gone dark.

  When the power is off and you start the laptop, the screen is very bright as it should, but after about 30 seconds, the screen becomes dull, as if the brightness has been lowered.

  Now when I close the lid and put it to sleep then open it again and then get out of standby, the monitor remains dull. The only way he'll light is by cutting off the power completely and turn it on again but it goes back dull after about 30 seconds.

  If I understand you right so that you see Toshiba welcome screen everything is OK, but when Windows loading problem, right?
  Have you noticed the same thing if you start the laptop in safe mode?
  Have you tried to reinstall the display driver?

• Satellite P200D-139 - blank screen suddenly and now empty start

  Try to start Notepad with AC adapter only, or only to the batteries.
  Unplug the two and leave it for a while and check if the same thing will happen again.
  You can try to remove the HARD drive and see if the laptop will start correctly (BIOS and Toshiba welcome screen).

  Your problem is that you don't have the drivers for the SATA controller available when you move windows XP vanilla Plains. Without the SATA drivers, windows xp will not be able to see the partition that you created on the SATA drive.
