Re-install LR6 for Windows 10

Hi, in the next few days I will be installing Windows 10. As part of my preparation I make sure that I have all that I have to reinstall all my software (I guess the installation of Windows 10 going to wipe my drive c :); brings me to Lightroom.

I bought the standalone version of LR6 which installed vs.6.2 Although later I installed 6.1.1. Version 6.2 has been downloaded by accessing my order on the Adobe Web site and hit the download button, i. e. it wasn't an install Adobe CC. I checked my order again and re-Setup will download the file Lightroom_6_LS11.exe (744 MB). I have two General questions about resettlement.

1. can I go ahead and install Windows 10, after you have backed up my data, or do I need to uninstall first LR6? I don't want to get caught by a cheque for Adobe that says that I have already installed the software!

2. what I have to go back to my order and download LR6 (6.2) is to say the Lightroom_6_LS11.exe file, or may use the procedure to download 6.1.1 direct?
This was published by the Lightroom Queen and three steps

    1. Uninstalling Lightroom.  Under Windows, you can do this from the Add/Remove Programs screen. On Mac, go to Applications > Adobe Lightroom > uninstall Adobe Lightroom.
    2. Download and install the 2015.0 / 6.0 release of https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/lightroom-downloads.html
    3. Download and install the version one last point, also linked to this page

Given step one. I guess the answer is Yes, but I wanted to check.

DRM for your help

After having taken the precaution to back up all your files by using a backup system image tool (fortunately Windows 7 and 8 come with such a tool: the system image backup are in the control panel), you can go directly to the upgrade process.

Prepare your Windows key, as you may be asked for if the system breaks down. Keys for other software (software that never need a key like Lightroom) will also be needed in the event of an accident. I have, however, never needed it, and I did a dozen updates to level on different machines and configurations up to now.

Unless you do a clean install (it is now possible with your existing key), you don't need to reinstall all software. If you perform a new installation, uninstall Lightroom before installing. Important here are the catalog data. It will not get whipped with the uninstall, but you will need to recover your data. Backup you photos simply is not enough, as Lightroom keeps in the catalog file of all the important data on your photo montages that are applied to your exported both photos that you perform an export. To reinstall, you only need your serial number. You may be interested in this thread on how to install Lightroom on a new computer: computer from Lightroom 6 change the old uninstalling and re - use the same license on the new? Technically, whisk your drive and reinstall your software are the same as the installation of the software on a new computer.

As said in the beginning, I installed W10 on a few computers and never ran into problems, so I would not go through the hassle for a new start, unless you currently have problems with your machine.

What must be examined: take your time. The upgrade of Windows 10 isn't a quick.

  • Cannot install Games for Windows Live

I need to install Games for Windows Live to play several games on this laptop.

When I run gfwlivesetup, all downloads very well and gets to the point where it installs GFWL and I get the following error every time:

"An error occurred during the installation of assembly ' Microsoft.VC90.CRT, version ="9.0.21022.8", publicKeyToken ="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b"processorArchitecture ="x 86", type ="win32 "'. See Help and Support for more information. »

Looking through several log files, I discovered the error to be (0x8007078f) code that relates to, "connection failed: the machine you log on is protected by an authentication firewall." The specified account is not allowed to authenticate on the machine. »

So two things come to mind. The account is authenticated and firewall. Well, my account is an administrator account and right click on gfwlivesetup and choose "run as Administrator" does not change a thing. Well, screw the router, I just take the right out of my router modem jack and plug rather the ethernet of my laptop, without going through all the ports that can be blocked. The only firewall that is up and running (the only one installed) is the MS OS firewall, so let's just turn this baby off and still the same error.

So if we ignore all the error code (0x8007078f) completely, then we can treat the error originally presented... I see basically: processorArchitecture = "x 86", type = "win32".

Well, I'm running a Windows 7 64 - Bit, and my processor is a Core i7-740... I am out of the resources here. I have seen many people having the same problem or similar (Google reveals a lot). So if someone is willing to stick with me throughout this, I intend to see resolved (at least for me). I only pray that as I did not reinstall Win 7 or make repairs. They do not understand all of these DVDs with the laptop.

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

    You mean SP1?

Click Start > right click on computer > left click on properties > see if you have Vista 32 bit or Vista 64-bit installed.

It will also tell you here what Service Packs, if any, are already installed.

Then, choose the download of 'bit' OK to use to install Service Packs, first of all the installation of SP1.

  • Cannot install updates for Windows 7 SP1

    Hello

I tried for awhile now to switch to Windows 10 without luck ( http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-win_upgrade/windows-7-key-not-recognized/9a66ab9a-819a-4285-9461-64e7528db222?tm=1450545430339&auth=1 ). In the end, I decided to reinstall Windows 7 RTM, install all updates and then upgrade to Windows 10.

Unfortunately, I seem to be impossible to install updates for Windows 7 now. Everything was going fine until Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 installed. After a few mistakes, WU start looking for updates for hours. I've tried everything as suggested here without a bit of luck. In the end, I decided to leave it to search through the night and finally it does find and download updates about 300.

Installation of these updates takes about 4 hours and Windows restarted and tried to configure the new updates, restarted saying once again he could not configure the updates of Windows and it will undo the changes. And it's been like that for over an hour.

So as soon as now I can not even update Windows 7, not to mention the upgrade of Windows 10.  Any ideas? I'm sick of the Windows updates, causing problems.

Installation sometimes loads of updates at a time can cause problems. When you access the list of the 300 updates Windows updates to odd day again, deselect all of them and then choose the oldest (for example) 50 and see if they install on their own.

Sometimes do fall off a long list of updates and try to install more small pieces may help them to install.

Is not sure, but its worth a try as a first shot.

(I know what you mean though issues of update.) It makes you wonder what's going on sometimes :-()

Check whether the problem is resolved.

Step 2: Unregister and register the Windows Setup program again

    1. click on Start Orb, in the search box of start, type MSIEXEC /Unregister. and then click OK.

    1 error security file C:\... \kdrl\GetLastError:5

    2. failed to start services.

    3. Repeat steps 1.

I also tried to install the component by component after the opening of itunes6464setup.exe to winrar.

Basically, it gives me the - error getting file security.  After trying to install apple application support. 32 and 64.

Go to Mobile Device Support I selected and tried both repair and installation.  Nevertheless he gves me a cannot start service error.  I tried to start it manually, it does not start.  But it says the software good lol (mobiledevicesupport) installed.  Oh is morning then it installs OK, whoopee.  I go to itunes itself 6464.exe.  Will loop to the application supports the error.

I also tried the solution of adding permissions to a file that I don't remember now.  Also used windows install cleanup utility.

I am at a loss.  What bothers me, it's too much I'm subscribed to itunes in icloud and itunes game.  good luck getting a refund lol

I suspect that you should remove the file mentioned in the 1. above.

I have improved my Portege M400 Winows 7 (32 bit), which went well. However, impossible to find out how to get and install the utilities that I included with XP Tablet version.

Can anyone suggest how to get (I understand that they were available for Vista)?

    TIA.

    Kris

    Hello

The Toshiba utilities do you mean are designed only for Windows XP. On Windows Vista and Windows 7, you need only the Toshiba value added Package. This package contains everything you need.

Portege M400 doesn't support Windows 7, but you can try installing the Vista drivers. Most of them are also work on Windows 7.
AFAIK, you must also Support Button Toshiba on this model.
