But I have no installation media because I bought this Dell PC, also I would like to know as well as to get a form of media to install the OS and if my product key is still usable in a re-installation.

It is a new work computer, not my personal machine. Our main piece of software, ACT! 2000, will not work on W7. We bought the new law! 2010, but he does not play well with the rest of the desktop computers, server included. I know that the best thing to do would be to upgrade to Windows 7 Pro, and then load Windows Virtual PC to run XP. But because of $$$ and $$$ already spent on this new computer, upgrade to W7 Pro is not on the table right now.
And am not extremely computer, but I get. :) I did a lot of reading on the erasure of Windows 7 & install XP, and I've seen a lot read on hardware/driver problems: ATA, AHCI and SATA configurations... now I'm just lost.
Is there someone who can tell me, in terms of Joe 6-pack , how to proceed?
Once, my new Dell Inspiron 560 came loaded with Windows 7 Home Edition, and I need to remove it completely and install Windows XP, I have the disc.
Thanks a bunch!
Unfortunately, Dell provides Windows XP drivers for this system, so any installation of Windows XP is not supprted by Dell andcan not work and even install
To install winxp you need a retail version of Windows XP, you must then boot from winxp cd and perform a clean installation

Is this possible and how? : install a Windows 7 Home Premium OEM from a laptop to a netbook with a Windows XP OEM computer
No, this is not possible.
The OEM of Windows 7 versions are identical to the versions commercial full license with the following exception:
-OEM versions don't offer any free direct support from Microsoft technical support Microsoft
-OEM Licenses are tied to the computer first you install and activate it on
-OEM versions allow all hardware upgrades except for an upgrade to a different model motherboard

installed my windows 7 Home Premium on a new hard drive, but it says my key is invalid. I bought this copy of the microsoft store and have retained the email with the key.
To analyze and solve problems for Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag (download and save to the desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 ) tool
Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the button continue, which will produce the report.
To copy the report in your response, click the button copy in the tool (ignore the error at this stage), and then paste (using r-click and paste or Ctrl + V) in your response.

KB981129 fails to install on OEM Windows 7 Home Premium
The description of the fix for kb981129 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981129) is on-site that describes the problem I have with "Tuner Conflict" and "No tuner available to meet the current demand" error messages when switching TV channels less Windows Media Center in Windows 7 Home Premium.
When I try to install the fix fails it installer with error message 'the update is not applicable to your computer' even if I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium.
My Windows 7 is definitely authentic and is pre-installed on my Asus Eee Box 1501 P.
Can someone from Microsoft, please confirm this problem install and fix the installer so that I can install this fix?
Thank you and best regards,

The ID of the product corresponds to the key for product activation. That's why it failed. The original operating system was an OEM version.
I suggest either to buy HP recovery media or a HP partner for the route more inexpensive to solve this.

How can I get Windows Vista Home Premium 64-Bit installed on Windows 7 Home Premium 32 - Bit?
I decided to install Windows 7 on my computer for the 30 day free trial, but am now regretting it. I don't have the money to buy the product officially, so I want to reinstall my windows vista. I have the drive, but when I try to install the computer says that this version of windows is not compatible with it. How can I get my Windows Vista to install?
Also, I currently have windows 7 Home premium. It is a 32-bit operating system and is running on Service Pack 1. The version of windows that I am wanting to return is Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
I can't make the method for using the windows.old as my uncle decided to remove after installation of windows. I have 13, but even, I knew it was a bad idea. In any case, I would really help with this question.
Ranging from 32-bit to 64-bit is a single proposal for a NEW facility.
You can boot from the DVD and erase your old installation (wipe, from scratch, all not saved disappeared and everything must be installed manually - including drivers for hardware devices and software you have installed now) and install Windows Vista x 64.

I have windows 7 Home premium 64-bit, which has totally collapsed. By mistake, I installed my operating system 32-bit vista on it. I bought a new windows 7 Home premium operating system and installed. I did a clean install after formatting the hard drive [the did twice]. Now dvd will play not [scrambled] and computer is crashes sometimes and I have to force the reboot. I saw the reference to System 32 on restart options. Help?

Have you installed Windows 7 device drivers for your make and model. If this is not the case, then go to the support web site factory and download Windows 7 drivers to a folder on your PC and then first install the drivers for the card mother/chipset, followed by USB, SATA, LAN, Audio and all other pilots.
Find the website of your computer manufacturer support.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/contact-support/computer-manufacturersHow do you know if you have a 32 bit or bit 6 vrsion of Windows installed:

BIOS updates: you should check to see if there was one, or sometimes several updates BIOS for the motherboard. Read (if provided) which solves the update. Sometimes a newer BIOS update will fix the problem. Read the instructions on how to your BIOS update/flash very carefully and be more you understand the process. There is a risk of a bad flash/update occurs which can make your system unbootable.
Also check the download site of the manufacture of the graphics card for the latest Windows 7 drivers for your card.

The clean install of Windows 7 Home Premium x 64 without installation disc.
Hello
I recently bought a Toshiba laptop with a Home Premium Windows 7 x 64 preload version. It has not come with a Windows installation disc. I want to reformat the hard drive and put on a clean version of the same operating system. Right now my only solution is to find someone with a disk or an iso. Which turns out to be harder than I thought. Is it possible to make an image of Win 7 Win 7 without having to make a picture?
I also own a copy of Windows 7 pro x 64. Can I use this disc to install, with the key of Win 7 Home Premium?
Thank you
FatherFinch
If you perform a "clean" of Windows 7 Home Premium installation, you will need to buy Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Someone else using Windows 7 disk is not allowed under the terms of the license Microsoft Softrware.
Q: I also have a copy of Windows 7 pro x 64. Can I use this disc to install with Win 7 Home Premium key?
A. No

Install Windows 7 Pro the Dell laptop w / OEM Windows 7 Home Premium
I have a bit of a MESS! Bought a Dell Latitude Laptop online, which was supposed to have Windows 7 Pro. When receipt he did 7 Home Premium. Found I had problems with some XP programs running and finished by the seller to send me a genuine disc "Réinstallation DVD Windows 7 Pro SP1 64-bit," Dell and a key COST and product. My concern - since they are BOTH the OEM versions of the operating system and a new drive a "Reinstall" rather than an "upgrade" - is that going to reformat my hard drive and destroy all my drivers and the factory pre-installed programs? Dell installs a number of vital programs to run the webcam, diagnostics, audio, secure data backup, etc., and all necessary hardware drivers, but they do not send copies of disc. How to backup all this? And then, everything I need to copy from the system to be able to reinstall the programs? Seems an almost impossible process... A drive to "Reinstall" OEM gives you an option to simply replace the operating system and everything still leave it alone? I certainly don't want to start without knowing what I am getting into.
Would appreciate certainly no help...
Nancy
Thanks for your quick response. I'm a little nervous because of all the issues that I had with this laptop - then just one last question for confirmation - if I buy a key to upgrade to 7 Pro AND use the Express Upgrade Wizard, it WILL NOT reformat my hard drive?
That's right, see how it works:
http://www.notebooks.com/2009/10/26/Windows-7-anytime-upgrade-%E2%80%93-unlocking-more-benefits/
When I am in fact, drivers for all my hardware and programs installed and my data will always be there and accessible under the new OS? Thank you. Nancy
That is right.

OEM Windows 7 Home Premium required
I called Microsoft before this announcement.
I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 BIT on a Dell Netbook, refurbished, with OEM Windows 7
Home Premium 32-bit installed on it. Instead of an upgrade, it's past as a clean install. I failed
Save the old OS to a flash drive. Should I have any other choice, in addition to the netbook
100 miles in the computer store where I bought it?
Have you tried to perform a clean installation using Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit (DVD/USB) media?
Boot from the Windows 7 DVD
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)
Click on drive Options
Select the disc/s click on Delete
Click new
Click on apply
Click OK
Click Format, and then click next to proceed with the installation
If you have important data on the drive, try to perform a custom installation:

Clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium
I use an OEM version of Windows Vista Edition home premium on an HP Pavilion a1710n. The OS is corrupt and slow as molasses, so I need to do a clean installation. Where should I go?
Unfortunately, 20 characters on 25 isn't going to work.
You will need to buy a set of recovery discs, which normally do not need the product key in order to work.
To order, click on the link below and then click on the link order recovery media.

When I bought my laptop, it had an original window but my hard office was damaged and I had to change, change the computer store but they put non-original window as they said my recovery CD THAT is also damaged, I need to download my original window I have the serial number
Hello
There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.
You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
