• How to use the Windows character map with the Arc keyboard?

  When I "Select" and "Copy to Clipboard" character as a checkbox and then enter any rich text field, it is for some unknown reason, out with the bad temper, that I did not choose. I don't think it's related to the Arc keyboard fault, since I do it only with my mouse ArcTouch.

  My "copy to clipboard" feature has always worked well in the past until I installed this Arc keyboard and the copy function continues to operate properly with anything but Windows XP Pro SP3 32 Character Map.

  So I want to try to enter a character by typing the standard code for the character... but the Arc keyboard doesn't have a "Numlock", because it does not have a dedicated digital keyboard and by the statement, you cannot use the number keys "at the top".

  "Product Guide" for the Arc keyboard is not very useful except on how to plug it in 28 languages.

  I can't get a solid star of five points of the "character map". I tried all the fonts that have a star, and when I paste, I get a different, but no star character. I tried the system, to get the characters using the 'ALT KEY' and the numeric keypad on the right side of the keyboard, but, here again, when I type the code for a solid Star (9733 in the list that I got on the internet) a different character appears. I have Vista and use Firefox. I tried to use 'IE' but still have the same problem. Any suggestion will be highly appreciated. Thank you

  I keep my windows XP updated regularly and would always Outlook Express and the table of available characters. Then I uninstalled a few components such as games and discoveries windows Outlook Express was gone too. When I add Outlook Express even once, I lose the Character Map and when I re install the character map, I lose Outlook Express. Cannot have both at the same time! Any ideas?

  Thank you, Bruce.  I finally got the two programs running again. I discovered that when a user archive boxes to add or remove programs, the action is fast, but the boxes are not automatically disabled later. I tried two programs that run several times over a period of 24 hours, and because the check box of the character table is a sup layer I guess I must have missed at a time when the audit or boxes to uncheck it to the rest of the changes I made. • Help! Symbols of editor press (a font in the character map) is missing! ... and I really need it back!

  After a reinstallment need of Windows XP on my laptop hpPavillion and the reinstallment of Microsoft Word 8 I found that one of my most favorite fonts, "Symbols of press writer" is missing.  I had a lot of different symbols used in almost all word documents I had created for the past 5 years and I am very worried that the backup files containing these symbols will be ruined.  "Symbols of writer press" is a font I found in the CHARACTER table, System tool under the Accessories heading. My questions are:

  1 - does anyone know if CHARACTER MAP is on the operation or on the Application and system recovery disk recovery disk driver?  or is it in the recovery of Microsoft Works 8 disc?  If it's in one of those, I'll try reinstallation/recovery and, hopefully, get it back.

  2 will be ruined my backup files?  I haven't tried to recover my backup files again, fearing that I am that they are not available.

  3. download the specific font?  From where?

  I'd appreciate any help you can give me... It has been very frustrating... Thank you very much for your help!

  Dear Wunders, finallly managed to find PressWriter symbols fonts!  Thanks to your suggestion, I have ckd with Broderbund, but the police couldn't get them... instead, one of their representatives of clients suggested a search yahoo... I foundwww.ufont.com there the police, it was easy to download and install (but I had to be careful because I followed the instructions)!  Now he is back at the table of characters, it is available for all my past (and future) documents, and I learned to have more fonts for my computer... quite a trip, but worth it!  Thanks again!

  Sent my V5 in service after the failure of the screen.  At upg'ed WIN8 to WIN10 before breaking the screen.  Sent in for repair.  They replaced the screen very well, but erased from my hard drive and installed WIN10. (why would they wipe my HD if they are just going to leave the same OS on it?)

  Now I'm having a problem with the keyboard mapping for the top row (INS, DEL, HOME, PG UP, PG DN) are all wrong.  The feature seems to have moved 1 key to the left where he should be.

  There is a diff in the 'platform =' tags. The orig said [platform = "win"], my config said [platform = ""] (Nothing in between the "of"). So, I reset the tag platform to be [platform = "win"] in my settings and then revived dreamweaver. It corrects the problem.

• Problem of Windows character map

  How can I reinstall Windows XP (SP3) charmap.exe? My system is missing 'C:\windows\system32\getuname.dll '.

  Normally, charmap is installed using the Add/Remove Windows components tool:

  Panel-> Add / Remove Programs-> "Add/Remove Windows components" (left column)-> click on "Accessories and utilities"-> details-> click on "Accessories"-> details
  Place a check next to the 'Table of the characters' and 'OK' or 'Next' your way out.

  C:\windows\system32\getuname.dll, which is used by charmap.exe, is one of the files protected by Windows File Protection.  It should be quite difficult to remove from your system.

  In case you cannot reinstall charmap in the normal way and somehow there no copy of C:\windows\system32\getuname.dll anywhere on your hard drive (it must be in BOTH c:\Windows\system32 AND c:\windows\system32\dllcache (the latter is a hidden directory)), here are two possibilities for you:

  If you have a c:\i386 directory, you should find getuname.dl_ there.  Use the Expand command in a command prompt window to extract and unzip the files:

  Expand c:\i386\getuname.dl_ c:\windows\system32\getuname.dll

  then copy the file to the c:\windows\system32\dllcache

  If you do not have a directory c:\i386, download c:\windows\system32\getuname.dll from my skydrive--> http://sdrv.ms/12gg5Eu
  Put in c:\windows\system32 AND c:\windows\system32\dllcache

• Keyboard character 'i' does not properly

• Character display problem

  I have a HP Pavilion DM3 1155EA running Windows 7 Edition family.

  Since the reinstallation of the operating system, I have a display problem. Sometimes, when you type, characters not displayed on the screen.
