Re: Map Satellite M60-104 PCI Slot or Express Card Slot?

Hello
I'm confused about what type of adapter should I buy for my expansion slot, on the button, it says that my laptop have card PCI II type: type: express card slot.

So far what I've read, it's the type of card PCI II differ from Express card. I just need to know what my machine supports, a card 54mm or 34 mm card, 16-bit or 32-bit, I don't know, I need to buy an adapter for esata interface to connect my NAS via esata to my laptop for more speed.

Can someone enlighten me on this point, please?
concerning
Praveen

Did you look in the user manual?
There are details on the M60 Series.

But AFAIK the M60-104 unit supports the Cardbus 32-bit/PC-Card 16-Bit interface.
For example, you can use 1 x PCMCIA Type II only and 1 x ExpressCard.

    Thank you very much

PCI flash memory can be the Robson (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_Turbo_Memory) module but as your machine doesn't have any installed turbomemory module flashcard reader.

In this case, check www.google.com for 'Texas Instruments Flash card reader driver' and download the latest Vista driver for the 6-in-1 Flash card reader.

  • Satellite M60-104 - vertical lines on the LCD

    Hello guys,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite M60-104 and in recent months, I noticed vertical lines on the LCD screen. How can I solve the problem?

    Any response will be useful,

    thanx

    Hello

First of all, you should check if you have the same problem on an external monitor. So you can check if the problem is the graphics card or screen.

However, I think that the motherboard or display needs to be replaced. To do this, you can go to an authorized service provider.

  • Satellite M60-104 Bluetooth?

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help, I bought the laptop above (ser:75389208 K) and cannot determine if he admitted it BT., there is nothing in the spec to say there, and there is no sticker on the base. But it has no software BT installed and there is a BT device listed in the hardware Manager. Odly, it has no option of Toshiba to buy a BT device? Try to use BT, I get the message device not active, I tried switch hard and soft.
    Thank you.

    Hello

Each unit with BT also has label of BT in the lower corner of the laptop. I found the info Satellite M60-104 has no BT and it's not about BT. S image designed for the M60 Series. If a unit has BT, the software is ready for use.

If you want to use BT the best advice is to use the key USB BR.

  • Graphics required for Satellite M60-104 driver

    Hello

My request relates to the Satellite M60-104.
I need to install the latest driver for the video graphics card but am unable to locate it. Can someone point me in the right direction please?
I looked at the section Download Files, provided all the information in the drop-down menu, but every time I type driver VGA in the search box, all I get is a message saying that there is no results matching my criteria.

Vista driver, you can find it here , and for all versions of Windows, you can find it here

But, if the driver does not work or not found, use Lavalys EVEREST Ultimate Edition

The Trial Version should be OK.

  • Windows Vista on Satellite M60-104

I need to install Windows Vista RC1 to test the operation of the applications under Vista, and my Satellite M60 is the only PC with a pretty good spec to run it. Are there problems installing Vista on this model?

Don't know if it will have the same problem as the M40, where there seems to be a conflict with the PCMCIA drivers that keeps him from start. (The unit on the M40 motorway is Texas Instruments PCI-xx21/xx11 CardBus Controller with UltraMedia.) There is a way around this, however.

With a name like "techpro" maybe it's a bit basic, but:
You have a complete, tested backup?
You plan to use it on dual boot?

On the M40, the installation runs smoothly until the second reboot "Finish Installation" and after that just hangs.

You must boot from the dvd, choose the line of command/Install/repair/advanced option and rename (or delete) the following files:
    Pcmcia.sys Windows\system32\drivers
windows\system32\driverstore\filerepository pcmcia.inf_* (numbers here are different on the build 5600/5728).

Or it may be a different configuration and install and start very happy...

  • Satellite M60-170: Question on partition Express Media Player

    Hello

I want to install Linux on a Satellite M60-170 (thus transforming part of NTFS partitions in other systems of files) without erasing/reformatting the Partition of Express built-in Media Player.

I don't see 2 Partitions using Partition Magic 8, predefined Microsoft (NTFS) 37 GB each on the hard drive of 80 GB.
I read on the forum that the Express Media Player is a T88 204 MB partition system.
How to see where this partition is located or do you know where it should be?

(Partition Magic reported an error right after the end of the 1st partition, sector 7815624; the 2nd NTFS(1st extended) begins at the 78156288 sector: I expect that the Express media Player is a 2nd primary partition located between 2 NTFS partitions, but I would be sure.)

    Thank you in advance,
    Bruno

    Hello

I m not 100% sure, but I think that the Media Express hidden partition is placed at the end of the hard drive.
I found information that the disk HARD should at least 150-200 MB of free space must be available.
This free space must be on the end of the HARD drive and there must be unallocated.
To get these free places on party products 3rd HARD drive must be used.

You should also consult this useful document on the Express Media Player installation.

  • Satellite L350 - how to use the express card slot?

Can someone tell me about the L350 what means the express card slot?

Only, I'm used to having the SD and memory stick cards.
Is there an express card to use with this or can get you an adapter for other cards?

    Thank you smokeyb

    Hello

You should look in the user manual. You will find lots of information about the batch of express cards.

The express card slot allows you to install ExpressCard/34 or ExpressCard/54 to extend functionality.
For example, the external WiFi cards, USB cards, etc. use this slot machine.

  • Is satellite L505 - 10 p - really an Express card slot?

    Hello

In the features of the Toshiba L505 - 10 p, an Express card slot is mentioned. I feel a little stupid for asking this, but where is this slot machine? I see something that looks like this above the entrance to Esata, but it is closed. How to open the slot?

    Thank you very much

    Anaon

    Hello

This laptop doesn't support Slot for Express card.
There is only the bridge Media Slot available that allows you to use these cards: SD Card, SDHC Card, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MultiMediaCard

  • Satellite M60-104 Bluetooth - NEW

I have the above machine and I understand that BT is not installed. I am really annoyed on this subject as it has been sold as an active BT machine.

In any case I am trying to connect the computer to a mobile phone and its does not work with a stick USB BT bought in a store phone (with software). I have an icon in the Bluetooth Manager in the task bar, but no matter what I do, he always says "Bluetooth is not ready."

The phone has BT turned on and it works fine there, it can send and receive things other phones without problem.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Hi Josie

You are right. Your device has certainly no BT solution with USB BT is good, but as far as I know, if you have this kind of message this means that BT is not enabled.

Unfortunately, on this way, it is not easy to give advice because the BT software is unknown to me but please check s USB BT manuals and check how you can enable/disable BT

My friends had the same situation with its Satellite M40 (I put t remember which is the producer of his stick USB BT) and it works very well with his and cellphone mine.

As I said, check the option enable/disable.

  • Satellite M60-104 Graphics Memory

    Hello

Recently, I bought the computer and look a the specifications on the site Web contains an ATI X600SE graphics card, she has.
He also said that in addition to the 128 MB on the card, it can use 128 MB of RAM expanded.
The computer however always said it has only 128 MB

What I do to activate this or something? The manual has nothing on this subject.

If someone can tell me how to 'Add' this memory?

    See you soon!

    Hello

AFAIK that ATI X600SE has its own 128 MB memory. It is really a memory size. If you play games or use of high performance software which needs more, 128 MB of memory, the operating system can share the system with the graphics card memory. But you can see t this value. Moreover, as far as I know you can change the settings in the BIOS. It is possible to set the size of the AGP at 16, 32, 64 or 128 MB.

When I bought the laptop they gave me a product Recovery DVD-ROM and a CD of media recovery and also Works Suite. Where is the creator of DVD? I'm confused.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thanx

Did you install OS using facilities supplied recovery CD?
Win DVD Creator must be part of the recovery image, and I assume that you'll get if your laptop is preinstalled with delivery facilities of Toshiba Recovery CD.
