Re: Printer print test every page I turn it on.

I have a HP Photosmart Premium C309a, using Mac OS x. The alignment page prints every time I launch a print job - just started happening about a week and a half - nothing happened to it - has not changed cartridges recently, nor was there the paper jams as I remember. The page seems fine to me, but the printer reads "Alignment failed". The printer is (now) plugged into a wall outlet (Yes, I've been reading through the forum and am trying everything) and the problem persists. I don't know how "scan" of the alignment page that when I press "scan", I gives me the choice as the "computer, USB or memory card'... what to choose and how to proceed? Took and reinstalled the cartridges, cleaned... other thoughts?

Hi @kfun,

Welcome to the HP forums!

I'm sorry to hear of the continuous alignment page to print on your Photosmart C309a, but I think I have an idea as to what is at the origin of the problem and would be happy to help you

First of all, I rechecked with your printer, and I can tell you do not need to scan the alignment page as part of the process of alignment on your printer. Get you the message that failed the alignment, I think one of the colors is missing on printing to the cause of alignment to fail.

I would like to test this theory, allows you to print the print quality Diagnostic report indicated in this document printing of Test reports . One of the inks seems not miss? If so, which?

If one of the inks is absent from that print, please try to proceed as in this document printer does not print black ink or color of ink or prints blank Pages to help get the ink flowing again.

Hope to hear from you soon with an update

    Thank you

    Hello vancat,

If your problem is that your PSC 1350 prints a test page when it is turned on or after every printjob, it is very likely because the cartridge alignment process is not finished. After you have installed a new cartridge in the printer, it will print an alignment page. You must take this page and place it on the scanner glass (make sure that the top of the page is in a good way), then you press the "Scan" button on the printer itself. It will scan the page (that is, read the page) and full alignment process (so it is not scanning in the sense that it sends an image to the computer).

I hope that clarifies the process of alignment slightly.

    Hello

What happens if you unplug the printer from the computer and then restart the device?

Also, try a hard reset after you disconnect the printer.

    Hard Reset:

    Take out the toner cartridges.

Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall

    Wait for 30 seconds

Plug the power cord into the printer and the wall (be sure that the printer is plugged into the wall and not a surge protector)

Replace the toners/cartridges in the printer

    Let me know the results

Help! I looked in the settings, properties etc... don't see anything that could help.

    Thank you!

Hi Kim and thank you for the reply!

In my view, that the question seems to have disappeared for the moment.  If it does not return, I recommend you follow the instructions: "for a better quality of impression, place this page on the glass and then press a button to copy."

This will ensure that the printer is aligned and your ink is used effectively, thus to prevent this return message.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Can anyone help?

    I'm on Windows 7 x 64. The system is a Dell 710H2C, 4 GB of RAM.

    Complete software package is installed.

Follow these steps and let me know the results.

    1. Unplug the printer from the pc
    2. Click Start, then all programs and open the folder called HP.
    3. Find your printer and you should have the option uninstall Select this option and the uninstall of the printer.
    4. If you have downloaded the software and saved go ahead and launch the software, if you did not save it, then you will need to download the software from HP.com
    5. You just need to run the software it needs to open up and ask you if you want to install, just get out and close the software.
    6. Click the Windows Start icon and you should see a box of files and research programs, in this box type folder it should find the temp folder, go ahead and open it.
    7. What you're looking for, this is a file that begins with 7z, once you find this folder open and you should see a folder with your printer.  Open this repetoire and you should see a util folder, open it and open the ccc folder and you want to look up a batch of Windows called uninstall_l3 file, double-click on this and it will launch a program to uninstall your printer software, let the software complete uninstallation that should lend your PC restart once this done install the patch you have installed earlier (I don't know if uninstalling of) L3 it removes or not) and then install the Windows 7 software for the printer.

  • HP All In One Officejet 4500: HP print jobs all in a single Officejet 4500 disappear. Print test pages. NO ERROR MESSAGE.

Lenovo Thinkpad T61 refurb bought last fall. Today when you attempt to print a page of a web site (Firefox, latest update installed today) the print job has disappeared. I tried e-mail (Thunderbird and web) and files, and in all cases, the print job goes away completely. I did all the steps of printing test pages, and they all work very well. I have uninstalled/reinstalled the printer, without result.  I tried new drivers or updated without result.

The light of attention seems to be on, but it is very weak and disappears when the printer goes into powersave mode. There is NO error anywhere, nothing appears on the search via the control panel.

At this point, I have a broken printer? A situation of system restore?

A wasted two hours and I'm about to be really annoyed. Ideas appreciated. TQ

How very special. Not your answer, thank you very much for your time. But there were two solutions posted much sooner, within a very short time after I posted the question. Confined together part both of the solution and the rest of the solution were, essentially, download the software version of seven 2014, which supersedes what I had. So, I've marked the post as solved, says thanks a lot and thought no more about it. (Although I am still puzzled as to why it happened in the first place.) Now, my post is reopened, the responses of two originals have disappeared, and yours have been replaced, all this without any explanation. It's just a bit too scary. Fortunately, the problem seems to have been fixed by the software update. So, I'm marking as closed/resolved. Thank you.
