Re: Qosmio F60 - after sleep / locked computer, my wifi no longer works

Hey guys,.

on my Qosmio F60, wifi makes crazy things. After the PC goes to sleep, I close the Panel or make hibernation, it is more willing to connect to any network. I do one of 2 things:

Stop the service of the adapter, go to the settings of the map and then restart it or
Restart the PC

I have a realtek RTL 8191SE Wireless LAN 802.11 n PCI - E NIC, I've already updated the driver for windows 7 on the toshiba site and remains still this problem...

The clues of what to do?

Thank you

Miroslav

Hi Miro

Standard procedures to solve this are updates BIOS and driver WLAN card.
Have you tried one of them?
Try with the WLAN driver update first.

    Hi JohnEvrard,

It depends on the update and the program that was hit.

To find out what update is causing the problem note the installed updates. You can perform the system restore and restore the system to the date that the program worked very well.

Once the restore is complete, install the standalone product of each update and check if the problem occurs in the program.

  • Qosmio G40: Toshiba Assist, StartLiveTV, Dolby (other?) no longer works

After installing Win7 Ultimate, including the latest drivers downloaded on the Toshiba site, the following applications no longer work:

Basically, the presented solution it works for me too. However, the command "netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = ban" does not get persistent, thereby affecting

"stop wlan netsh hostednetwork" gets persisted, however.

'do not command netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode = allow' does not get persistent...

In other words, current enforcement in exactly ONE time orders-Admin-helps prompt - as soon as I wake my machine to sleep after running it, the WIFI connection gets restored quickly (less than 5 seconds); but when I check the status with "netsh wlan show hostednetwork", then the result is that the mode is set to "Authorized" again - and that means, the next time that I wake up the machine, it takes ages to new (~ 30-50 seconds) before connections WLAN gets implemented...

Does anyone know how I can get the mode = do not allow to persist?

Another fact interesting, that I found before I was running on the solution by using the NETSH commands:

If I change the ' password on the reactivation of the "option of energy saving"require a password (recommended)"to"Don't require a password", it's okay, about the period of time it takes to establish the WIFI connection after wakeup (in other words, even without the NETSH commands described in this thread).

So, from my point of view, it seems to be that something related to security (probably in association with this kind of things hosted network).

The problem: disabling of "Protection of password on wakeup" is not a solution to everything, for me personally, as I am quite often on the road with my laptop, and I want to be sure that the data on my laptop is not accessible without unlocking the screen, in the case where the unit would get stolen or I loose it somehow... to protect all customer and other data sensitive data to this topic...

Any professional entry of someone at Microsoft to finally have a solution for this would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello

Your question of Windows 7 is more complex than what is generally answered in the Microsoft Answers forums. It is better suited for the TechNet Forums. Please post your question in the TechNet forum.

    Hello.

I tried the assignment of the keys to the keyboard shortcut list in the software. But he continued to play with the volume of Windows.

No idea how to fix this to make it work with my Player volume only?

My OS is Windows 7 64 bit

    Thanks in advance.

    > No idea how to fix this to make it work with my Player volume only?
AFAIK you cannot fix it. These buttons are for the Windows level volume only.
But I don't see why it is so important. Set the volume level in WMP to the maximum level and simply change the level of Windows. In General, the result is the same. Or not?

Problem solved, I found this on another forum

    + Hi all, +.

+ I found the solution on another forum (forget which) and published this solution in multiple threads. The problem is, as indicated, a Human Interface Device in combination with update KB938371. After installing it, my usb mouse stopped working. Just go to the--> HID Device Manager - devices--> unknown device and looking for drivers. Vista won't find any drivers online, so you must get the drivers on your computer. The location of the driver (in most cases) will be C:/Windows/Winsxs. You will get a window saying: "this is an unsigned driver blah blah blah". Just install the driver. The mouse worked for me (even without reboot). +

    Hello
I have to post my message again, my old account was deleted because it bore the name of Toshiba inside.

    Here's my problem:

I have a Tempro message asking me to do an update to the BIOS: 'bios-20120601184846. I did but it was not reinstalled the wireless driver, and since my computer can't find any wi - fi network. I still have an ethernet connection.

I tried several ways to fix it and nobody has succeeded:
    -J' installed the driver "slate-driver-s1081-win7-wlan-1005.31.1222.2011".
-J' installed from the toshiba Web site, the driver "realtek_wlan_win7_2000016L_20110523".
-I turned down my anti-virus and firewall
-J' tried a system restore on the eve of the update of the bios, but it did not because of a virus while it was off.

The wi - fi card is always displayed in the Panel of the unit, and it is said in the work.
The wi - fi network works on another computer or smartphone, so the problem comes from this computer.

  • After you install SP2, my wifi does not work.

    Hello

Since the installation of SP2 on my Dell XPS 1530 I can no longer connect to or even 'see' wireless networks, according to the Manager of wireless devices driver is the latest version, however the Device Manager does not seem to recognize when I manually disable the adapter wireless via the hardware switch.  When I try to connect to a wireless network, the list of available networks is empty, before installing SP2, I could see about 6 different networks within my apartment complex.

When I click on "diagnose why windows cannot find any additional network" tells me "the NIC"Intel (r) Wireless WiFi link 4965AGN"knows driver or hardware related issues.

According to the "State of the wireless network connection" my computer receives packets wirelessley, when I turn off the adapter via the hardware switch that stops and then restarts when I turn it back on.  IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity show: not connected.

When I switch to the command line and type ipconfig the wireless adapter is not listed, only bluetooth and ethernet properties are displayed.

Can someone suggest possible solutions to this problem?  I tried to uninstall SP2 that made no difference.  Unfortuantly there isn't a restore point saved before installing SP2 first, then it is not an option.

    Thank you

    Chris

    Thanks for the info.

Ultimately I cheated and used the opportunity for a bit of spring cleaning, I so re formatted my hard drive and did a fresh install of Vista.  All problems solved so far.

    Thank you

  • RV130W - Firewall locks? Port forwarding no longer works!

    Hey all,.

I have a Cisco RV130W router, which seems to have problems with the Port Forwarding type stuff.  Port forwarding is without a doubt done properly (as I did on all other RV130W) and the ports actually work for a few hours or maybe more, but then it's like she goes down on the lock and blocks all traffic that passes through.

My solution is to reboot the router for port forwarding works again.

I can't access management "distance" more when this happens.  I can access the Web Interface via LAN and Internet and network continues to operate correctly - DHCP and all.

    I'm under the new firmware.

    Any ideas?  Thank you!

    Hello Jeff,.

Sorry the camera does not work as expected.  I have seen this problem before and I think that you would see if you were doing a capture of packets across the Wan is the router receives a SYN, but never respond with a SYN ACK.  We have found a workaround is to, I suspect that you have single port forwarding enabled, try to configure the same ports in the range of port forwarding page.  Configure the ports of departure and end in the same port number, and remove the single port forwarding configuration.  I hope this helps.

  • WiFi no longer works when the computer was unplugged

We just got wifi via the border about two weeks ago. Initial configuration must be done with an Ethernet cable, but our jack is not in the computer room, it's in the living room, so we had to move our entire computer in the living room to set up. Well, once it has set me up we unplugged the power cord and the computer still worked on the wireless connection. We did not want to leave in the room forever so we unplugged and he returned to the computer room. Now, he does not connect to internet at all and says that we need an Ethernet cable. I want to know why it worked before wireless, but when we moved he stopped and how to fix it. Any help please?

    RCC

You must contact the wonderful support of border.  They know only the correct settings.

However, it may be a driver.  One way to check is to go into the Device Manager
(départ > recherche > le gestionnaire de périphériques), then check the network device to see if there is an Ethernet device and a wifi device listed)

  • Portege M800 - after Windows 7 upgraded FN keys no longer works

    Hello
    I upgraded my * portege M800 * bought * Canada * for * 64-bit Windows 7 *.
Everything is good except the keyboard. It's a Canadian bilingual keyboard with 86 keys with 13 function keys and a buttons on console with 6 keys (cut, cd/dvd, play, stop, previous, next).
I don't update all the drivers because it works very well with Windows 7 drivers.

    The problem is:
-function keys (Fn +..) no longer works
-the buttons of the console with 6 keys (play, pause, etc.) no longer work

    What I did:
-check the keyboard driver in Device Manager: it is a microsoft driver
-a attempted to update a driver toshiba but * he didn't find in the list of drivers for windows 7 or vista on toshiba website *: [http://support.toshiba-tie.co.jp/windows7/download/PORTEGE_M800_64_cae.htm]

So, I don't know if it's a driver problem or something else?

    Concerning

    Hey,.

These special functions of the FN keys and multimedia keys have nothing to do with the keyboard driver. There is no update driver in addition to the keyboard. There is only the Windows standard driver that can be used.

The point is that you have Toshiba Value added Package and Flash Cards Support utility. If you purchased the M800 in the Canada, I guess that it of a model Canadian and as a result, you can download all drivers here:
    http://www.Toshiba.ca

    Check it!
