Re: Satellie A100-151 work/does not start

Hello!

My A100-151 does not work as it should...
I expelled the power supply lead for an hour. All of a sudden I'd start, inserted the power supply, but the State led the of are turned off and nothing has worked. The laptop doesn't fall down or anything else... It fit on my table...
No. led is on, even when the battery is in or not.

Can it be a motherboard problem?
PS: sry my English is not the best :)

Greetings Sebbohp

Hello

It is possible that your adapter is defective and that the battery is empty. Then the laptop will not light. But of course the problem of the motherboard is possible also

You have validated the idea to use a voltmeter to check if the AC adapter is working. Well, there is a possibility to check if the adapter is ok.

> Can I use a universal power or else cable
I would recommend using the Toshiba power adapter that is specially designed for this series of laptop.
But if you wan to use the universal AC adapter then this adapter must supports the same watt, volt ampere, features etc as the Toshiba power adapter!

Best regards

East - the CPU, motherboard or RAM?
    Any help much appreciated.

    Hello

To find out what s wrong some diagnostic tests are needed.
If you checked the HARD drive and if it s ok so I guess there must be something wrong with the motherboard. But it is worth checking to be sure 100%.
The fact is that the motherboard is an expensive piece and you should check it out before you replace something.
Sorry I put t see any other solution.

  • Satellite A100 - 01 Q does not start

    Hello together,

I have a strange problem with my Toshiba Satellite A100 laptop startup - 01 Q. It starts to boot, the line (on the Toshiba slashscreen) moves along so far, but not in the end - and that's all. It stucks about 75% of startup (mouse initialized is the last message). Then, won't boot Windows, will not meet the suggested two Boot options (F2 or f12).

The fan works, power led then and cd player drove a... that's all. I can't access the bios. Keyboard does not respond. The only way I could stop that the laptop was in making 3 dry on powerbutton tric. If someone knows if it is a hardware failure or something else please let me know.

I have red some forum discussions. Could be the solution a cmos reset? If it is so, please let me know how to do this.

Warranty has expired and I don't want to buy a new laptop.

    Please help me!

    Hello

You are able to access the BIOS?

If the laptop freezes at the beginning while the Toshiba start screen appears generally then it would mean that the power on self-test cannot be passed, which means that it has detected a hardware problem on the motherboard.
For example, a RAM problem may be the reason why not to pass the POST (power on self-test)

Well, it's hard to tell what the best option for you before you sell it for peanuts. you could ask a technician for laptop for an audit may be only some cheap is defective and the fix would be cheap

  • Tecra 8000: monitor and the HARD disk does not work - does not start

I have a laptop Toshiba Tecra 8000 given to me the year last by my uncle. I live in England, but it is and bought the PC in Italy. I do not know if this causes complications, but I thought it may be useful.

Since I got it it occasionally did not display any image of all system startup, so if I have given some time and restarted it would start working again. Happening of bagan more frequently and now I can't make it work. I have conections and found that everything was in place. Then he doesn't seem to be turning on, however when I replaced the front LED cable seems to be turning on and although I couldn't hear much the CPU was luminous heat. I opened the drive and it gave once more, succeeded him and he still wouldn't start. I had purchased and replaced the screws on the heatsink around this area but I did not handle it with many other things.

So now, I have a monitor that does not work and a gard drive that won't start... Any ideas?

    Thank you!

    Hello

Could be either the card mother, CPU or ram. The processor when it goes bad or is not locked in place (have had this before, install the CPU but forgot to turn the lock, so he cannot move) the computer will act as its startup, don't give any error and stay on a black screen. Verify that the processor is locked in place. Then remove the ram and try a stick of RAM that runs on another computer. If you try the RAM and the processor do not always start, then chances are your motherboard is dead and must be replaced. Hope this helps and that solve you the problem.

  • Satellite A100: webcam works does not for windows live messenger on Vista

I recently lost my picture when working for video calls in windows live messenger, the sound of two ways and I can see them, but no one can see me.
I also bought an external webcam, and it does not work either.

When I go to Device Manager it says that the two cams don't work properly.
I tried to update the drivers but they are up-to-date.
I wonder if it's a problem of Windows live or Toshiba.
I use Windows Vista Home Premium and the new version of messenger.

    > I also bought an external webcam and it doesn t work either.
    > When I go to Device Manager it says that the two cams don't work properly

For me, it looks like a windows system problem.
Usually two webcams operate independently from each other and so I don t think that it is a webcam driver problem I think that it s windows or windows live messenger problem
Maybe something confused keys registry or files may be some updates to update or similar

In your case, I recommend you to uninstall the software of webcam software, internal external webcam and the windows live messenger.
Then, you must clean the BONES and the registry tool like CCLeaner cleaning, for example. It the free tool.

After this, reinstall the Chicony webcam software and test functionality without installation of windows live messenger.
If the webcam will be functions then you could install the windows live messenger again.

  • Action Script 3 code works does not start and stop button?

OK so I have what I have created simple animations of a circle that moves from one side of the stage to the other. I have added a new layer and named her buttons. On this layer, I added 2 buttons. One for the beginning and another to stop. The goal is to get my circle to pass from one side of the stage to the other, but be able to use my buttons so that I can start and stop times random animations during playback. I've corrected all my faults of the compiler now the problem is that whenever I click on the start or the stop button, I get an error output. I have a 3rd layer which is called actions and that's where all my code is displayed. I removed this layer and put my code in the first frame of the layer of buttons to see if that would change anything but I still get the same errors of output. So I just added back my layer actions. What could I do it wrong? I made sure to name all of my video clips and buttons correctly and I even added an instance name for them.

  • Satellite A100: Does not start a recovery DVDs

    Hi guys.
    First timer here.
I have read some of the Q & A on reboot problems the A100 since the recovery DVDs.
It seems I have the same problems as keith.

I want to start all over again the OS and my laptop does not start from the DVD.
Tried the standard f12 boot from cd option. tried her "hold C on the boot option.
Both options end with no joy.

The screen that says "loading ramdisk image", loads the machine breaks, asks me to wait, then every time the same thing.
The screen goes black, flashes very quickly and white and then loads from the hard disk as normal.

Now try to hold my frustration and do something radical.
I know that in the Q & A previous, the subject is considered as replied...
    other options?

My following thoughts are to delete/uninstall almost every thing and try and force the thing to boot from the DVD.
have also copied the dvd and tried to boot from the copy, always with no joy.

    Are there any other suggestions?

Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?

is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?

is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?

    see you soon,
    Martin

    Hello Martin

To be honest, it's pretty strange question. There is one thing I am interesting for:
Is - this first time, you try to use a recovery media for the installation of the OS?

If possible, try to get the Microsoft CD/DVD facilities to see if the same thing will happen.

In any case, I will try to give you answers to your questions.
    > Is it possible to put a partition in the existing drive and to start the recovery dvd in there, then delete the junk of the original section of the drive, and then delete the partition?
It will not work. On the recovery of the media it is recovery image and this image must be installed correctly. You cannot "recover DVD in there. Not question

    > is it possible to close all essential processes and format the HARD drive?
I would like to know what you understand under the 'essential processes?

    > Is it possible to reset the HARD drive somehow?
You can't do this somehow. If you want to 'reset' HARD drive, you must delete the existing partition or delete any OS installation. After having done that, you need to install new OS. All this will be done at the beginning of the recovery procedure.

I really don't understand what's wrong there. Please answer to my first question, and we will continue this discussion. ;)

  • Satellite A100-596 - RAM does not work in location B

After meeting with the blue screen of death, my A100-596 was out of service for some time. I decided to give it a last violin and had it work. I removed one of the modules of 512 MB ram and it works fine.

The problem is that if I put the RAM module the computer starts not (the same problem that he had). I used a program called CPUZ and it recognizes the RAM in two slots (if I insert the other when the computer started upward).

Why CPUZ recognizes the RAM, but windows does not start with it inserted or even to recognize.

I've played around with the RAM modules. Two of them work in the A slot but neither location B. The maximum extension of my motherboard is 2 GB, it means that I can't put a 2 GB module in one of the slots?

It seems strange that CPUZ fortunately sees the RAM in slot B, but windows does not start with it in.

    Help, please.

    > If I insert the other when the computer started upward
Really pass the RAM if the computer was started? Laughing out loud
I think that this is not a good idea. An upgrade of RAM should be done only if the computer or portable computer is turned off.

I put t understand why can CPU - Z can recognize the RAM but Windows not? To run CPU - Z, you must start Windows before.

However, I think that if both modules n t work in location B the slot is faulty.
Also if you can upgrade the laptop to 2 GB not using a module with 2 GB of memory. Use two modules with 1 GB for each module.

    Hello

I am having a serious problem with my old laptop (Toshiba Satellite A100).
When I turn on the pc, it does not start the Windows but is stuck.
If I press F2 to open the Bios, it seems not work while the works of F12 (select boot device), but it is impossible to start anything.

    I tried the following:

1 removed, cleaned and replaced the RAM
    2. HARD drive removed and reconnected.
    3. check the HARD drive if it is damaged, but it is not.
4A tried to boot from the Windows XP cd and install it but it crashes
5A tried to boot from the cd with Linux, but it does not work.
    6. has created a Windows 98 flash drive to start, but it does not work.
7 tried to clear CMOS by removing the battery, but I couldn't because he is stuck on MB.

I visited a technisian but he couldn't fix it.
He told me that the BIOS is corrupted or crashed. Maybe I should replace somehow.

    Is this possible?
    How?

    Thank you

Internet Explorer works well until I tried to download Firefox. Then it crashes too. This pc work Firefox very well since I bought it 10 months ago. I upgraded FF3 4 then 5 with no problems. All of a sudden yesterday it stopped working. There is no error message and of course FF does not start because there is no list of Firefox in the process tasks or applications Manager. I tried to uninstall Firefox, then tried to download usingInternet explore, but when I click on the download button on the site of Mozilla, Internet Explorer crashes. I did a system restore to 16/08/11 when Firefox was still working. This restored the program but it still does not work. Google Chrome seems to work very well. • Re: Satellite A100-011 does not start, a black screen at the beginning

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-011, which is almost 5-6 years. It suddenly started to behave abnormal.

First of all, I started to get a 1-2 sec black screen when he was running. The screen was on and off occasionally.

After a few days, I could not started upward from my windows xp sp3 operating system. I tried to start in safe mode with networking to see if I had a few spy, virus or something. I ran avast, hijact, ad-aware and some more, but not found anything.

Later, I tried to format my laptop with a xp professional, but this time I can't see any reflection that passes more fun running and a black screen. I just got a black screen at the beginning and it does not start.

I plugged on a television screen, and here I have started. I have re-installed all the drivers and formatted, but all I get is a black screen on my laptop at the beginning.

What should I do now? Do you think I have a problem with my screen of HW or a driver problem with nvidia geforce go 7600? Maybe I'm missing something?

Thanks in advance for all replies.

If you can see the picture on the TV there are a few s laptop display problem. Y at - it some problem connection or display itself.

You want to fix it yourself? You can disassemble the laptop?
I mean if you have any experience with this kind of things that you should seek professional help.

  • Satellite U300-13U does not start and the recovery disc fails to too much work

    Hi all

I have the above computer (or should I say my wife) & it is nothing that a good pain since the first day we got it.
I have had it about 2 years & had to reformat the HD at least 6-8 times using the product recovery disc as laptop starts.
    The laptop runs Vista.

In any case, problem I have now is that new laptop does not start, but for some reason any product recovery disc also does not work...
    What I can do...

I have read on various forums that it might work if I reformat the HD first using some s/w on a bootable CD but how / what S/W can I use...?
The laptop has a SATA HD 160 GB installed. How can I check that it all works.
I don't know if the current problem is S/W or related material...

Toshiba has a utility that I can use...?

Thanks a lot for all the help...

    Hello

    What happened exactly?
Do you receive error messages by using the recovery disk?

Check if the HARD drive is OK! You can check in the BIOS.
If the HARD drive is listed in the BIOS then the HARD drive and HARD drive found BIOS is not dead.

Usually, you might start Notepad with the help of a Live disc for example Bart PE
    It s a bootable windows CD/DVD live

This can allows you to format the HARD disk, and then use the recovery disc!

  • Windows XP restarts all the time; does not start mode safe mode and last known Configuration does not work either

Hello! Recently, I installed Wubiand appreciates well. However, a few days ago, when I tried to boot XP on my netbook (EEE PC 1005hab), it restarts just constantly return to the selection screen of the BONES. I tried Safe Mode and last good Configuration known with anything will do. What should I do now? Ubuntu has not stopped working suddenly, so I can't access my data.

I don't have to have a Windows XP CD, there is something weird Asus recovery instead. In addition, it is a netbook so I don't have an optical drive to run the recovery CD. I'm doing a Livecd of Linux USB so I can back up my data... but I can do but reinstall at this point?

    Thank you.

The afflicted system has a working CD/DVD drive (even an external).

You have a true bootable XP installation CD (it is not the same as any recovery CD provided with your system)?

If there is a problem starting, XP is configured to automatically try to start again and you can stuck in a loop not being able to go beyond the screen boot options, or none of these startup options you choose will work only.

Sometimes, when XP has a problem starting or falls down and tries to start again, it will give you a "short" menu of boot options and none of them will appear to be good to get your system going again.  You have tried them all!

The options are similar to the Advanced Boot Options menu XP, but the only option that you need (disable automatic error system reboot) are not offered, because XP went too far during the boot process and offers a limited number of boot options.

If this is the case, you must call Options menu advanced boot yourself until you do not see the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

When you get the XP Advanced Options correct start menu, it has options on it like these:

    Safe mode
    Safe mode with networking
    Safe mode with command prompt

    Enable Boot logging
    Enable VGA mode
Last good Configuration known (your most recent settings that worked)
Directory Services Restore Mode (Windows domain controllers only)
    Debug mode
Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

    Start Windows normally
    Reset
    Return to OS Choices Menu

You need to choose in this menu is the option:

Disable the automatic restart in the event of system failure

Then if XP does not start normally, you will see an error screen with information and clues about the problem and then you can decide what to do next.

If you do not see the automatic restart on system failure option turn it off, you must reset your system and start typing the key F8 on the keyboard until you see her disable automatic restart on system failure option.

If you miss the window of opportunity F8, you must try again and start pressing the F8 key with more urgency (earlier and more frequently) until you see disable automatic restarts on system failure, and then select it.

You must keep trying the F8 menu until you see disable automatic restart on system failure option, and select it.

Answering queries and results report of the disable automatic restart on system failure screen and you can decide what to do next.

Do, or do not. There is no test.

I need YOUR voice and the points for helpful answers and propose responses. I'm saving for a pony!
