Re: Satellite A210 dead after that BIOS crashed

Someone please help!

During BIOS update computer laptop (toshiba satellite a210) spontaneously restarted.
As the record on the controller was not performed (if I understand correctly) is now a laptop is not included.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi mate

I m afraid. I have bad news for you.
The laptop needs a help of ASP.
The module ROM BIOS has to be flashed again and this can be done by ASP in your country. The technician would use a disc of crisis of BIOS that allows to get the laptop back to life.

    Hi all, help is needed.

After a BIOS updated with the help of Toshiba TEMPRO laptop Satellite A210-199 stopped working. The updated spent normally, but when it was turned off is more responsible. All this time the yellow indicator Burns power only. In a few minutes a laptop trying overloaded, but has no outside effect and so constantly.

How is it possible to correct?

    Hello

Well, it seems that the BIOS update has failed or something else. Maybe the ROM module must be reflashed by a technician of the laptop.

But you can try this workaround first:
Remove the battery and the AC adapter and wait an hour. Then reconnect both devices and try to start the laptop.

If it doesn t work on the Toshiba site, you can search for nearest authorized maintainer:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported downloads & => find an authorized service provider

  • Satellite A210-16f - after the BIOS update pops up a window with password

    Hello

I tried to update the BIOS on my Toshiba Satellite A210. I downloaded an update from the official site of Toshiba, and then I did everything according to the instructions.
I've updated the BIOS under Windows.
Update at the end, a massage "updated successfully" appeared and I just need turn on the computer again.
So I did, and there was a problem.

When I turn on my computer now, it shows me a blue window with a password. I don't know password.
Maybe you know how to disable the password or you know some passwords for Toshiba which corresponding?

Toshiba doesn t have a sort of universal password, and unfortunately, no one here can help you with this problem.
I just hope that you have downloaded the good BIOS upgrade for your laptop model.

The password can be removed by the Toshiba service provider. They can do it in 15 minutes.
Sorry, but buddy I'm afraid there is nothing you can do about it.

    Hey Buddy,

It seems that the BIOS is damaged and it must be reflashed to an authorized service provider. This is a delicate procedure so these tools can t be downloaded and are only available for the FSA. On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of all FSA. Simply contact the closest in the country and ask for help. Guys will help you best possible

    Hello

    I have a problem with my A210-1BW
I did last night a Bios Update, but winphlash hangs up during the update. I waited about 20 Minutes, but nothing happened.

Then I killed the WinPhlash process and try again to update, but then get an error message. I try to restart and get the white screen. I turned off the laptop and close again on it, but now there are nothing but black screen.

I already try the drive of crisis of Phoenix with the 2.0 version of the homepage of Toshiba BIOS, but not worked.
Anyone know what I can try?

And can someone send me to try an older version of Bios and then on the home page?

    Thanks for your help.

    Good bye
    MaximL

(Sorry for my bad English, I'm German)

The system will still boot from the CD?

In the case where it doesn't start at all, there is little you can do. Re-flashing with the cd of the crisis is according to my knowledge the last possibility, otherwise you should better communicate with Toshiba service center. Maybe they can help you or fix the laptop (replacing the BIOS chip).

  • Satellite A300 - pad touch dead after update BIOS 2.20

    Hello

exact model is Satellite A300 PSAGCA-06M01N under Win XP.

I had a problem with the webcam, and I read in the forum that it can be solved by a BIOS update. so, I advanced and downloaded the latest version of the BIOS on the site of toshiba, especially for my laptop model. It went quite well with no error.

However when the computer restarts after that the BIOS updated my touchpad no longer works.
I went to Device Manager and could still see the Synaptics touchpad device and it says "this device is functioning correctly. but its completely dead and will not respond with the 2 keys. before I updated the BIOS I never had any problems with it.

I tried FN + F9, nothing helps. plugged in a USB mouse and it works without any problem. In fact, when I plugged in the mouse the synaptics software says "Deactivation of the key because of the external pointing device" for the device driver for the touchpad works.

If I remove the mouse, it will say the touchpad is restored, but it still doesn't work. restarted several times and still the same problem. went into BIOS and chose "default" not still a no go.

Can someone offer any advice or ideas please?
I really need the touchpad for the way I use the laptop...

    Hello

In many cases, the touchpad (pointing device) can be enabled and disabled in the BIOS.
I think you should check if this option is available in BIOS and if so, check whether it should be enabled.

  • Satellite L630 dead after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a problem with a Toshiba Satellite L630 laptop model PSK00E-017019EN (British model).

An analysis of software Toshiba recommends an update of the BIOS and that I had a few problems with the laptop, I decided to let it run... big mistake!

The laptop will now not enter bios is effectively dead.

I downloaded different versions of the crisis Phoenix Recovery Disk (that will build a bootable USB key with MINIDOS. SYS, PHLASH16. EXE and a generic BIOS. WPH) and have also downloaded the latest version of the BIOS on the toshiba site.

The downloaded BIOS Toshiba is an exe SL630_L635_WIN_B140.exe file that will extract the following files using WINRAR (I tried also pick up the files in %Temp%, after you run the exe with the same result).

The files that I get are:

    BB10140. FD (4170kb)

    Ding.wav (104 KB)

    InsydeFlash.exe (764 KB)

    iscflash.dll (1760 KB)

    iscflash.sys (14 KB)

    iscflashx64.sys (23 KB)

    and platform.ini (9kb)

I expect to see the real bios in the form xxxx.rom or xxxx. WPH so that I could add this to the bootable flash drive to reflash the bios.

So my real question, can someone direct me to where I can download the correct BIOS. ROM file for this laptop and also where I can get the right version of the software Phoenix crisis Recovery Disk.

Also could you confirm the correct key sequence to start on crisis Recovery flash drive... I've seen talk of the F and B FN FN (both used without battery and plugging in the adapter, then power button / stop)... the FN routine F seems to start the Flash Player, but obviously without the right file WPH will not solve the problem.

    Thank you

    Phil

To be honest, I don t think that BIOS ROM module needs to be replaced.
In my opinion the ROM module must be flashed again using a special disc of crisis of the BIOS.
I recommend you contact Toshiba service and pay a small fee for the flash ROM module.
It is much better solution to handle the motherboard.

  • Equium A210-1AS - after update BIOS screen no longer works

I tried to find the same problem but impossible.

I had to reinstall Windows Vista after mistakes with programs (recovery was useless so install fress was necessary) and everything worked fine. I downloaded all the drivers and updates section of drivers Toshiba, I installed the ATI graphics driver, then update the BIOS.
While the closed laptop, now when I turn it on, the fan on the works of graphics card, battery, power and load turns on but the screen remains off (not illuminated). I tried an external monitor and the same problem again. As the screen worked fine until the update im guessing its something that the BIOS has done, or the graphics update.

To me, it sounds like the update of the BIOS's not on your laptop. If the BIOS update fails more often than computer start doesn t more you can see anything on the screen but you can hear the fan, etc.

In any case, you can try this workaround: remove the battery and the AC adapter. Wait an hour and then reconnect the two devices. Now try to start Notepad and hope this works ;)

If it doesn't work, you should contact the nearest authorized service provider. Technicians can try to reflash the ROM module

  • Satellite A500-13W - after update BIOS the FN buttons do not work

Yesterday I updated my Bios of my laptop to 1.50. After that the FN buttons no longer works. Can someone help me? ^ ^

    Sorry for my bad English

    Hello

You have installed the correct version of the BIOS of your laptop?

Features of FN buttons are normally not depending on the version of the BIOS. So, you need Toshiba value added Package and utility tools to Support Flash Cards. Then I recommend to reinstall two of them.

    You can download it here:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Remove all older versions first. Reboot then install VAP and finally Flash Cards Support utility.

    Hello

What Satellite A210 do you have exactly?

  • Dead by Satellite A500-1pj after involuntary Bios Update

    Hello world

A friend of mine bought a new PC laptop toshiba Satellite A500-1pj a month ago. Windows 7 pro 64-bit pre-installed.
Also preinstalled: support software toshiba who - correctly - configured search automatically and installs updates and critical fixes.

Last Sunday this wonderful software recommended an update 'critical' to my friend - she's no expert but a user experienced who can make the difference between an update of the bios (and avoid this!) and a security patch, she agreed to download and install what she believed to be a security update.

Sure, she gave permission to an update of the bios being installed. During the process of updating the machine froze completely. She waited for three hours and then pulled the plug. Guess what: the machine is now completely gone. Does not display without fan, simply nothing.

Hotline support Toshiba told him that his cell two weeks old is not under warranty because this warranty does not cover software 'problems and the Bios updates are software upgrades.

The company repair says a repair will very probably equal to buy a new laptop so here we are...

    My questions:

    (1) the laptop is a Satellite A500-1pj (PSAR9E-01M00QGR) fitted to a phoenix UEFI bios (bios toshiba/phoenix, 1.1.26 update tool is pretty radical - no warning at all! he tried to update me my computer dell laptop, lucky!).
I found some posts on older machines that can be reflashed using a usb disk, hot spare bios back and a combination of keys (Fn + B or Fn + F...). is it possible to do this with a UEFI bios too?

    (2) anyone out there have the same problem?

    (3) any chance of toshiba help us with that issue and prevent others from making the same mistake to understand at least a warning in their bios updates?

    Thanks for your help!

    Tony

    > The company repair says a repair will very probably equal to buy a new laptop so here we are...
    I doubt that
I think that the module ROM BIOS was flashed incorrectly (don't know why) and therefore you can not start the laptop.
This can happen for different reasons, maybe that the update process was interrupted due to a process running in the background, etc.

In order to solve this problem, the ROM module must be flashed again using a special crisis disk BIOS... that's all.

The update of the BIOS is always a sensitive procedure but if everything was done correctly, then update the BIOS must successfully complete.

I found this very interesting and useful to Toshiba and HowTo doc correctly updated the BIOS!

Today one of the programs from TOSHIBA, that came with my laptop (L650-11F), warned me about an update of the BIOS (v1.80) after download and install my DVD drive disappeared from Win7 and it has a continuous yellow light on it. It does not even open when I press the eject button.

    Hi enigmo,.

I can t imagine this happening due to the update of the BIOS. Have you tried to reinstall Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk?

This BIOS downgrade is possible only to an authorized service. Technicians can install all versions because they have these special tools to do a downgrade.

On the Toshiba site, you can find a list of them. Just give the guy and ask for it. They will help you! :)
