  General it s not possible to upgrade the processor or the graphics card, but you can upgrade the memory and the HARD drive on this laptop.
  You can upgrade the maximum memory 2048 MB of memory (2x1024Mo) and you can use a with the 80 GB HARD drive may also 100 GB.

  I am trying to install Windows 7 RC1 on an Equium A210. Some of the utilities and drivers, I can understand; for example, things like the acoustic silencers, updated the BIOS, driver Bluetooth Monitor, Bluetooth Stack, controller card, reader DVD reader, display, update Firmware, infrared Driver, LAN Driver, Modem Driver, Sound Driver, Touch Pad Driver & Wireless Lan Driver makes sense.

  The exact model and specifications of my laptopl isn't important ine relatively to this question and I realize that none of these things are certified for use with Windows 7, but this really isn't the point; I don't know what they are used to with Windows Vista or XP or.

• Satellite A210-1AO: modem are not not in Device Manager

  I bought toshiba Satellite A210-1AO part number: PSAELE-03Q009G3 with Windows Vista Home Premium.
  There are a lot of unwanted software from toshiba (bloatware) and I wanted a clen of OS windows vista installation, so I downloaded all the drivers from toshiba europe web site and update bios version 1.90.

  I installed vista and the driver necessary, video, recorder, bluetooth monitor, flash media... I realized that this modem is not listed, when I try to install modem driver progress bar if poster and work until the end and then disappear but modem is not listed in Device Manager.
  After many tests modem is still not present or detected by the operating system.

  Mention that I have not any exclamation point in Device Manager and all devices are installed.
  I tried to go back to the old State with toshiba recovery cd and's done it without problem but modem is not present in that too much. BIOS does not include an option to turn on or turn off the modem, so I don't know if it's the new 1.90 bios problem or what?
  Else this medication works very well.

  How to activate the modem? modem port is of course present.

  Are you 101% sure that you see the modem in Device Manager?

  I have a 10Y A210 and in Device Manager, the modem is listed below the mouse and other pointing devices.

  Hi, I have a Satellite a210 under Windows 7 64-bit. I m not sure, but I think that the "Realtek ALC268 @ ATI SB600 - high definition Audio Controller PCI" does not support a 5.1 sound system.

  As far as I know a few notebooks with S/PDIF out port can be connected to 5.1 devices.
  What you need is probably an external solution.

  Did you check Google if this device is in force and can be connected on your laptop?

  I have two Toshiba laptops and I m happy two on the laptop cooling solutions. It of not too hard and the computer laptop isn't not hot.

  In my opinion, you should clean the laptop first. I clean my cell phone every 3 months and I m always asked how much dust out.

  I m an owner of the Satellite A50. It s unit a bit old but I used only as a portable backup and second.
  In any case, I updated the notebook with 100 GB HARD drive! It works!
  So I guess you can also use a 100 GB HARD drive, but please take a look at the HARD drive interface.
  It is important that the HARD disk supports the good interface. To my knowledge, the HARD must drive supports improved interface IDE (ATA-6)!

• How can I send a fax using pc? What improvements are needed by my O.S. (Vista Home Prem.64 bit quad) to allow the sending of a fax? Scanner/printer is installed.

  As you can see from the link above of MS, Vista Home versions do not come with Fax software.

  Home Premium, you can only change it to Vista Ultimate, which has included Fax software.

  I'm about to change the hard drive of 80 GB for a Toshiba MK5055GSX, a disc with allegedly similar to the original, including the freefall (FFS) sensor which I assume is the same Easyguard installation in the existing drive.

  I have also updated the BIOS from 1,5 to 3,7 WIN because I assume that the original BIOS could not manage one as large as 500 GB drive.

  Can someone tell me what improvements are included in WIN 3.7 and if it will show a half-terabyte disk?

  The next point is that a BIOS update doesn't improve the compatibility of the HARD drive. It s based on the hardware of the computer laptop if your computer supports a 500 GB HARD drive or not.   You can use and install ONLY the cooling module that is compatible with the Sat A210 series. The point is that you can not use any different coolers of different laptops because these modules will not match in the computer laptop satellite A210.
  Motherboards are different and the place where the cooling module is also completely different.

  Well, I checked Toshiba European page and there is not a lot of drivers XP for Equium A210.
  But don t you worry man. I think that you are not lost ;)

  As far as I know, that this device supports ATI Radeon X 1200 graphics card.

  Some units of the Satellite A210 series were equipped with the same graphic card.
  So please check the Satellite A210 series (there are different so go through A210 all singles series) and try some graphics drivers ATI posted on the European driver Toshiba page.

  These drivers must run.

• Satellite A210 - 11 p connected to the TV - the colors are too bright

  Just changed to the top of an A60. I used a TV S-signal with one SCART and it worked fine.

  Now on the new computer, the colors are too bright and washed out. I updated the driver but no luck.
  In fact, I find the screen on the A210 way too bright and had to calm colors to factory settings.

  Does anyone else find this?

  I have an A210 and I don t think that the screen is too bright.
  Fact is that some of the A210 notebooks are equipped with the real bright screen. This is a new display technology and it s great.
  I like it much better as common display without the true light.

  On my laptop satellite A210 colors are light and not washed out them. The display is perfect

  One question; have you noticed the same problem on the internal and external monitor or TV?

  I use a Toshiba Satellite A210 - 1 4 and think that the hard drive may be showing signs of failure.

  _The symptoms are: _

  * While the Windows 7 boot frequently stops at 'Starting Windows' screen (before the Windows logo appeared) and all HARD drive activity stops meaning a hard reset is necessary to bring him back.

  * When I unplug the power cord on Windows 7, the computer freezes usually with nothing happens and stop any HARD drive activity, once again a hard reset is required to bring back to life.

  For me it doesn t look like the HARD drive malfunction if Windows 7 stops when starting or freezes when you unplug the AC adapter

  Have you already tried to reinstall the operating system? It could be the software problem.

  If you still want to check your drive HARD uses a disk HARD Drive Fitness Test as a diagnostic tool. It s freeware so you can find it if you search on Google.
