Re: Satellite L25 heats

I have this toshiba which is getting really hot even with a cool pad under it.
It slows down a LOT when it's hot, but doesn't have a virus.

I think that the dust and hair are not the problem.

Is there a way I can fix this?

Are you sure there is no dust in the radiator?

It seems that the unit is overheated. Try to blow compressed air through the vent (when the laptop is turned off). You can buy compressed air in a spray can of electronic shops.

If there is no dust, then the device must be repaired by an ASP. They will check the thermal grease, check that the fan and the heatpipe work and check the other functions.

Do you mean the button that launches Internet Explorer?

According to your message the laptop doesn't connect to the WLan automatically and you will need to connect it manual to get the job of WLan.
    Is this right?

I put t know how you have connected the laptop to your router, but usually, if you own Windows WLan zero configuration then you should make sure that the parameters to a called + connect when this network is in range. +

  • Satellite L25 - Question on recovery DVDs

I have to do a clean re-install of my Satellite L25-S119. I have the recovery and the Applications DVD, but not sure if this includes Windows XP Home Edition. I've had this laptop as a birthday present so not sure if it comes with a separate Windows CD. I want to just make sure I'll be back Windows XP Home Edition.

    Hello

The recovery DVDs contains the operating system already preinstalled (factory settings). Another Windows CD is not distributed with Toshiba laptops. The recovery DVDs contains the operating system itself, all the necessary drivers and all Toshiba designed tools and utilities.

    Toshiba Satellite L25 S119
    Model - PSL2XU D 00500

My HARD drive is a Toshiba 60 GB 5400 RPM (MK-6026GAX) hard disk.

Would be it someone please let me know where I can find the HARD drive diagnostic software appropriate to the hard drive of this model. I suspect that it starts to develop problems and run a check until I have look at the controller.

    Please notify.
    Thank you.

    Reggie

    Hey Buddy,

Google can answer this question too... ;)

There are a lot of diagnostics for your HARD drive. You can use the Drive Fitness Test of Hitachi for example. It creates a boot disk where you can boot from to start the test.

An alternative look at HD Tune. It s Windows based but can check bad sectors too. In addition it allows to test the speed of the HARD drive.

  • Satellite L25 - S1192 AC adapter compatibility

The they gave me the back is a model API1AD43 number. Can someone tell me the right manufacturer / model of AC adapter / CC should I have?

    Hey Buddy,

they gave you the wrong AC adapter. You need an AC with an output of 19V with 6. 3 and when Googling for HQ you actually, I found that the adapter a 19V but just 4. exit 7A. It is not enough ampere for your machine, must return to this store and ask them for an AC adapter with an output of 19 VOLT with 6.3 amps.

  • Satellite L25 does burn the DVD-R

    Hello

    I am not very computer so I hope it's a simple question. I have a Satellite L25 with a DVD-ROM.
I am trying to record a video on a disc. It works when I save it to a CD - RW, but it does not seem to recognize the a DVD-R disc that I bought a whole bunch of today.

Have I bought the hard drive or is there something in my computer that should be adjusted?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Karen

    Hello

I found information that on some laptops Satellite L25 there was only a CD-RW/DVD-Rom drive installed. In this case, you can only burn the CD and read only DVD-ROMS.
In this case, all ok on your laptop. You must use compatible support

  • Symbol does not appear when I use the hotkeys on Satellite L25

    Hello
I have a Satellite L25. I have a little problem. Before when I used a few hotkeys (such as Fn + Esc) there was a sign on the screen (for example, that there was a cross sign of the sound or it was a volume). Now these signs do not appear, but access keys still work.
Is that everyone knows what it takes to make such signs appear?
    Thank you very much

    Hello

Not easy to say why it is not.
Maybe there is something wrong in the registry, but in my opinion this isn't a serious problem.
All functions work correctly and in my opinion, you should not be angry about this.
But if you want, you can refresh the driver. Maybe it helps.

This unit was designed for the American market. In this case, you should check the site Web of Toshiba us for the necessary driver.

  • Satellite L25-S1192: WLan disconnect when moving from router

I looked in the nets, and I can't find an answer to my exact problem.

I have a laptop Satellite L25-S1192 and XP running.
My problem is the Wi - Fi works very well until I'm 10-15 feet away from the router.

Once I get beyond that point, I lose the connection even if when I display the network connections it shows that I'm still have an excellent signal and always connected. Other laptops work in the House and I did several other tests to rule out the router.
I updated the driver but nothing seems to help.

Given that the connection is working near the top which tells me the settings are correct.

    What Miss me?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

In my view there is nothing wrong.
The WiFi signal seems to be too low and therefore the WiFi disconnects.

I think that this happens when you run Notepad with battery operation. Right?

Well, you can go to Device Manager-> properties-> Advanced tab Wlan card
There you can check if the WiFi network is set to mode harder

  • Satellite L500 - heating power cord

    Hi all

I have a Satellite L500 with a heating problem. When in the course of use, the power adapter gets extremely hot, if the battery is in or out. So much so, that melted the case around the adapter. My first thought is that it's the cord itself which is defective and will buy a replacement for it. If not, should what other things I look for?

    Thank you

-Cord becomes very hot * with * or * without * battery
    -fans and vents were cleaned
-the heat is in an area around the power adapter

    > the heat is in an area around the power adapter
It of difficult to say what's wrong or if something is wrong.
I have two laptops Toshiba and the area around the plug of AC adapter is not warm or hot.

But in the worst case, it could be a problem with the power supply or the broken cable
Maybe you should try a genuine Toshiba AC adapter and another, good work.

  • Satellite A100 heating and fan problem

    Hello

I will try to describe my problem in detail because I so hope that it might help!

I have a 5 years A100-011, Nvidia 7600 Go satellite. Recently, I fixed a display problem that I used to, however, this time (two weeks ago) him comes from the computer laptop back from the workshop with this heating problem. Which is the first time! The problem is the fan.

When I start the PC, the fan works like it ti be long, maximum for 3-4 seconds. After that the fan barely works! According to me, the air coming out but very very low! less than how it is used for years! I came back to the same place, I corrected the PC. They checked and claim his fine and work! So, I give it a shot and tried the PC.

Unconsciously, there is problem. Because the temperature of the GPU that has the problem, idling about reaching 60 c (SpeedFan) and goes high (65-67) while surfing the net! And using this way too much for internet!

What makes it even worst fan always at the same speed very slow! The speed can increase little when he reached 67c!

In this way, I can not use any high performance program, because the PC becomes more heated then stop.

    Note: I tried the following:
1-BIOS (latest version) no available fan control
2 power settings does nothing and there is no option of cooling method
3 - fan control software. Unfortunately, nothing has worked

I don't really know what the problem is! Given that the fan works but not all the time and why the GPU gets hot without doing something really serious! What is a cleaning problem? If so, why the fan does not reach its maximum speed at this temperature. !

I hope I am fine help and answer here!
    PLS help!
    Thank you

I agree with the user Notepad Akuma is 5 years old and I think that there is a lot of dust and debris inside the cooling modules that prevent fans from running correctly.
Air can circulate properly and therefore the temperature rises
    So what to do?

You can use a jet of compressed air to remove dust from the fans that I'm doing this regularly and it helps to clean the fans

  • Satellite A30 heats and turns off automatically

    Hello
I love my computer laptop satellite A30 with part number as PSA30E. Recently, it has developed a problem. the laptop GET closes after a bit of time if connect us the power supply external source.but the work of the laptop very well if the battery is fully charged. It is not warmed up quickly because it works with the external power supply. However I noticed that the machine gets very hot after a short time, then the pc stops automatically. is that someone can help me please...

    Hi stephanie,.

This soundslike a case of overheating caused by the heat sink of the CPU obstruction with dust and lint sucked up by the cooling fans. You will find this described in the following link:
    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA35/satellite-A35-fixing-overheating.htm

You will find that it is easier to use a vacuum cleaner pipe placed on the grids of air intake based on your laptop computer, since it is very effective and doesn't involve any dismantling of you A30.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite A210 - heating and BIOS update problem

My aunt was having problems with his A210, so she bought herself a new and gave me the old one. The problems that she has been seen was the computer kept stopping at random. I think it's an overheating problem because the laptop runs quite hot. The BIOS has never been updated so I thought that might help with this problem. in any case, when I tried to update the BIOS this error message came.

Cannot load the C:\Users\Dan\Desktop\MK10AWF\PHLASHNT driver. SYS.
Please verify that your accounts, if you have no administrator privileges, please sign in again!

    Error code: 5

I am the only user on the computer so I have administrator privileges and I don't know why this error is coming. Help, please. Thank you

    > Has anyone else experienced problems with the A210 of overheating? All solutions?
    Hi mate

I m a Satellite A210 owner and to be honest, a higher internal temperature might occur if the laptop would not get enough air to cool the internal parts like CPU and GPU.
A few weeks ago, I used the laptop on the sofa I don't the opinion of t that the cooling that are placed at the bottom of the unit fans were clogged because of my position relax, if you know what I mean ;)

After a short period of use, the laptop shut down automatically I was a little surprised, but I realized that air could not circulate, and so the laptop overheated

Now, I m using the unit only on the desktop. This method is recommended, and it helps to keep the temperature at the lower level

    PS: My BIOS is updated...

  • Application of Satellite P200 heating/cooling

    Hi all

I'm popping up this question because my P200 will soon be available at the end of its warranty, and I don't know if it is useful to do a repair for the next 'disease' or if, in fact, others have found a similar effect or knows that it is in the normal operating parameters.

After execution of any fairly intensive program, just like one of my pieces from the analysis of the data from the software or game, for a period of time (for example, one hour), I noticed that the wind/radiator on the right near the hinges of the screen is very hot - uncomfortable to touch and to the point if it was warm I would be unable to touch at all. The base of the machine is also worrying hot. Anyone who has observed this, is it indicative of the early stages of an overheating problem and I expect the system looked at? I think that the computer can run a bit slower as I remember in a first time do, but I don't have any solid data to support that.

Thanks a lot for the ideas and opinions!

    Michael.

    > After execution of any fairly intensive program, just like one of my pieces from the analysis of the data from the software or game, for a period of time (for example, one hour), I noticed that the wind/heater on the right side near the hinges of the screen is very hot

I'll try to explain your problem.
Fans and cooling modules are placed on the right side of the laptop.

It is a laptop upscale. It was equipped with a high-performance CPU and graphics card. And it turns out that these devices produce a lot of heat when running with a maximum return.

This leads to a temperature higher inside the laptop.
The fans blow the hot air outside the laptop and so the right side is hotter than the left side.

    I have a question;
Which driver of video card you are using?

You should always use the Toshiba designed graphics drivers because these drivers support and protection against overheating. If the temperature of the GPU would rise to a higher level, then the graphics card driver would decrease performance GPU to make sure that the chip would not overheat. This protection is necessary because the graphics of mobile phones are not equipped with the huge cooling modules like graphics cards for desktop PC.

Non-Toshiba driver graphics don t support this protection and this could lead to a higher temperature and overheating and finally, it could damage the GPU!

So you should always use the Toshiba GPU drivers to prevent overheating of the equipment/laptop!

    Greetings mate

  • Re: Satellite L25-S1217 don't angrrr battery

My laptop does not seem to charge the battery.
    I have a L25-S1217.

Under the electricity meter, he tells me unknown battery. The problem started when I sent it repaired because the backlight blew. I also had the battery replaced due to reduced life expectancy.

The problem would be the bad battery or the tech made a mistake could someone? Please help me

If you didn t have the problem before you send it in for repair, you must contact the partner of service again.
They should check your laptop again because I think they have made a mistake.

The reason could be the battery or the motherboard, but this should be verified by a technician for laptop.
