Re: Satellite L300: Vista demands the keys to the series after update

I should come to you today because I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite L300 and I don't know who to go to?

The problem is:
I do the update for my laptop last night (January 29, 2010) and now my surprise, my computer asks me to activate my WINDOWS VISTA HOME PREMIUM... thing that I don't understand. Because I have my laptop since November 11, 2008 and I have never had such a problem.

Hello

It's really strange since the Toshiba, preinstalled operating system (any OS there is) is already activated and you need t to enter the serial key.
I m not sure why, but I think that Member States updates affected activation and, therefore, this pop up message.

In your case, I just only advice;
I recommend to recover the laptop again, you can use HARD drive recovery option which allows you to reinstall the operating system without the use of any recovery disks

After the installation of the new operating system, try to update the new Win Vista

Welcome them

    Hey James,.

I does no change, I didn't download a document from my email (from a sender of confidence). I tried to start in safe mode, just, it restarts and goes back to the corrupted checksum display... Last known good config was the same result! The only error message is one that is in the title of this post, not others. Another detail, that I forgot to add is that it does not get insofar as a logo windows before it fails, just the toshiba start screen, then either passes the corrupt message checksum or a blue screen and restarts before I can read the text on the blue screen. Thanks for your response! Any additional help would be excellent if you can. In the meantime, I'll try your methods. Thanks again
OK, I have now managed a Startup Repair trying over and over again. Restore all settings and now looks very good, thanks for your help!
  • How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you reconnect then wireless.

problems with wireless Vista "local only".

How is it that some machines running windows vista, when the router is updated or changed, they show "limited or local only" when you then reconnect wireless... nothing else was changed on those computers and other devices can connect ok?

    Hello

Each router is assigned to the specific address (called IP address or IP address). And each router maintains its own database (called as base of router) to follow the networking devices communicate with him. When the router is changed, the particular router is unable to detect the device, especially the network card to communicate with the computer.  Since he does not have details of the database of network devices, communicate with him.

  • Satellite L300 - Vista asks me for a key

I recently bought a Satellite L300-1CU with Windows Vista already installed.

When I start the programs that they ask me to enter a key, when I entered the 25-character key found on the Windows sticker at the bottom of the computor as computor says it's the wrong key.

I'm doing something wrong? If not, where can I get the right key of.

I doubt that Vista asks for a key. I think you mean Microsoft Office, right?

Well, the button on the underside is for Vista preinstalled, NO Office but normally you can see from the thumbnail (Windows Vista product key)

On Toshiba laptops there s only one Office pre-installed trial version and if you want the version complete, you must pay for it.

  • HDD Recovery Fail on Satellite L300 Vista

I'm arrogant and not install virus protection software and eventually get drowned in the spyware rather than go through the hassle of trying to remove each of them so that they slow down the computer to a halt, I decided to restore the factory State.

It seems easy, but now after the first part (a command window with a percentage) he told me that he had no HARD drive recovery.
What can I do now that I can't use my computer, I don't have a Vista disc because Toshiba has asserted that I could recover from the hard drive I could use XP if there is no quick fix I have a drive for this, but how easy is it to find and install all the drivers, incidentally It's a Satellite L300.

I have no idea why the recovery partition does not work that way, while the guys do you recommend I do?

    Thanks, man.

    > It seems easy, but now after the first part (a command window with a percentage) he told me that he had no HARD drive recovery. What can I do now that I can't use my computer, I don't have a Vista disc

Have you tried to start the HARD drive recovery?
Simply press the F8 key after laptop powered upwards and choose fix my computer.

Usually, this will help you start the recovery disk again.

If this is not possible then you will not be able to recover the laptop without the Toshiba recovery disc.
He really stupid situation if you didn't create the recovery disk before this problem happened :(

Well, your last chance would be this site:
    https://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

Here you can order a new Toshiba Vista recovery disk

    Good bye

  • Re: Satellite L300 - initialization of the webcam

    Hi all!

I have installed Windows 7 on my Satellite L300 and the only problem I have, is that the built-in webcam does not work.
I downloaded the software from Windows 7, but each time after reboot it tells me, that there is a problem with the initialization of the webcam.

Any ideas to solve the problem?

    Thank you

    Hey,.

What exactly downloaded Windows 7 software? You need the Camera Assistant Software to get the job of the webcam. You can download it on the Toshiba page.
    Did you do that?

And what Satellite L300 you use exactly?
You did an upgrade from Vista?

  • Satellite L300 07R - need the Windows XP drivers

My boss gave me a L300 - 07R (model # is PSLB0C-07R08C) for work because I had no machine XP and unfortunately it comes preinstalled with Vista.

This is useless for programming because of the way Vista handles file types. I intend to install XP with the drivers from Toshiba Europe site, but the short model number (PSLB0C) is not in the list. The closest is PSLB0E (I assume that C is for the Canada and E is for Europe). The drivers will be always compatible with the Canadian machine?

Many people have said to download from the European site in discussions of other people in this forum, but I want to be sure before I reformat the machine I won't be stuck with no operating system.

    Hello!

Normally, you can also download and use the driver for the European Internet site because it is the same thing but on Toshiba Canada, you will find your Satellite L300 model.

    You can search here:
    http://www.Toshiba.ca
On this site I founded your model and in your case I would be there, download the drivers.

    Good bye

    Hi the Welsh,

Never heard about this error message then I asked Google on this subject and that therefore say: also no information :(
    Very strange

    So, step by step:
Do you see the same behavior when you start Notepad (Windows) in safe mode?

  • Satellite L300 - Vista downgrade to XP

    Hello

I bought a Toshiba Satellite L300. I have some programs that do not work under Vista. Can I Downgrade Vista to Windows XP?
    And how can I do?
    Thank you

Try to set the AHCI in the BIOS mode comatible.
Then you wouldn't need the SATA driver.

But usually the Intel Storage Manager should help you too...

In any case, try to change the settings in the BIOS...

  • Satellite L300 - 'W' and 'F' keys not working do not - cannot open a session

    Hello

    I have a Toshiba Satellite L300.
My 'F' and 'w' keys do not work and because I have a built-in HARD drive password containing these letters, I can't start my computer.

I got a problem "starting" a few months back, and what I had to do was restore my laptop to an earlier date. I did it through management of Boot at startup. The only thing is that I don't remember how to do it now.

I can't find the restore disks that could come with my laptop - so the only way I can do, thanks to a Startup Manager.

So, how do you do a system restore? or y at - it another way to solve this problem?

    Help, please! :)

    Hello

If I understand your case, the HARD disk password has been set and now you are not able to boot the laptop because the password can not be typed due to the defective keyboard.
    Right?

Hmm, replace the keyboard buddy I think it's just the ideal solution.
Of course, you can try to plug an external USB keyboard but I don't know if it will generally work at the BIOS level, it should work, but in the worst case you will need a new internal keyboard m.

  • Error messages when you try to retrieve satellite L300 Vista

I have a Satellite L300, which keeps freezing upwards so when I tried to do a recovery I got an error message 10 D 045 fa12 and when I tried to completely erase the disk, I got an error of the FFE 20 045D

This unit was sent to toshiba for repair and technicians said there was nothing wrong with the unit, but my research tells me there is probably a fault requiring the replacement of the HARD drive - so now that my warranty just expired do - what I do? Can I still take the unit for repair since the issue of original warranty has never properly addressed? or is there a way I can fix the error?

If the warranty has expired, this can be a problem now, but I wonder why you did not react immediately when you saw that there is a problem.
On this forum, you can find several threads with the same problem and if you have time try to read this that people writing here.

I can imagine there is problem with HARD drive, the HARD drive can be replaced but you can do it alone.
It's really not a big deal.

  • Satellite L300 - fails during the installation of recovery

Today I took delivery of a recovery disk bright, shiny, new, directly at Toshiba. I was under the impreession it would erase all HDD and recreate a factory install with the recovery of HARD drive partition (which is what I want), but it fails every time in the same place with the following error message:

[WARNING] W\:Sources\Boot.wim [unzip the file: (seq. 90)-> file corrupted block at offset D 024 8020]

Any ideas how to solve this problem, or I've been waiting for 2 weeks for a failed CD?

    TA, Fred

    Hello

I also have Satellite L300, but never had a problem with the Toshiba restore disk.

What happens if you install Windows using a disc of Microsoft? It works or you get an error message too? If so, it could be a hardware problem, HDD, RAM, or something else.

Also I've read here in the forum that it sometimes useful to format the whole HARD drive before using the Toshiba recovery disc.
    Check it!

  • Everyone updated card wireless network on Satellite L300 to get the WPA?

    Hi people,

Unfortunatelly the Toshiba Satellite L300 only supports WEP encryption for wireless communication.

So, I wonder if anyone has a nice solution for or even better WPA - WPA2 - encryption without buying a new laptop computer...

    Best regards
    Saarland

    Hey,.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you!
I have the Satellite L300 and I use WPA2 encryption for 1.5 years now and t has not had any problems. The WLAN on WPA2 connection works like a charm!

I assume that something is wrong with your WLAN configuration have installed you latest driver WLAN on Toshiba official site?

  • How to connect by Satellite L300-110 to the TV?

    I'm sorry. Help me

    I have the Satellite L300 110.
I want to connect to the TV.

    Is this possible?
    What should I do?

    Hello

As much as I know the laptop supports only port external monitor (RGB port)

You may be able to connect laptop external monitor using a VGA cable but no TV.

There is no available port TV out then I guess you won't be able to connect this unit to the TV
