Re: Satellite L650/07C-boot-loop after memory upgrade

I have a Toshiba Satellite L650 / 07C - PSK1JA-07C017.
To get a little more life out of it, I've updated yesterday with a SSD and 8 GB memory.

The SSDS works perfectly and I have installed OS and all the drivers and software.
However, the memory causes a boot loops. I returned to the standard 2 x 2 GB memory at the moment.

With the new memory installed, the computer startup-loops. When you try to start Windows, the computer will appear at the stage of loading Windows (the boot animation) and then restarts.
I tried to start with the recovery discs, and it arrives at the stage of loading of Windows Setup, and then restarts.
She will continue trying to start, then by restarting (then repeat), until I turn it off.

The memory I installed is Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 (2 x 4 GB):
http://www.Corsair.com/cmso8gx3m2a1333c9.html

For me, it looks like the same specifications that the modules of memory Kingston 4 GB listed on the Toshiba site as being compatible with my laptop:
http://www.MyToshiba.com.au/products/Accessories/memory/KTT-S3B/4G/accessories

I found the specs of memory recommended here:
http://www.LASystems.be/PDF/Kingston/246787/KTT-S3B4G.PDF

If I go into the BIOS, I see that the memory is detected as 8192KB. The Toshiba site says that this laptop is expandable to 8 GB.

Is there something I'm missing?
Is there another step I need to perform when upgrading their memory?
I don't know why it won't boot with the new memory modules in that I put.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I assume you have the Australian model is not easy to find info on the hardware upgrade. What I can say is that model European uses DDR3 1066 MHz memory modules and 4 GB of RAM compatible a part PA3677U-1M4G number.

It must be exact model described by microcens.
I recommend you use the tested and compatible memory modules.

I just bought a Satellite L650 / 07C. When I bought it from the dealer, I was under the impression that this model came with the function disk hard drive shock protection system (hard drive Impact sensor).
I ran the Toshiba PC Health Monitor application, but it seems not to have this function - it gives me the power settings, Temp and fan are monitored, as well as a status of hard disk drive, but nothing on the disk hard drive shock anti-siphoning (hard drive Impact sensor).

Under my file utilities Toshiba HDD SSD Alert application that shows the same icon as the one I saw in the reseller on their Toshiba Satellite when they did there evidence the shock protection system. I ran this application, but it gives me just a status message that the drive works properly.

Could someone please confirm with certainty whether the model I have this feature.

    Thank you very much.

  • Factory default software start startup Satellite L650 / 07C first time

    Hello

    Today, I bought a new laptop Toshiba Satellite L650 / 07C.
When I start the laptop first, he went to the recovery of factory default software?
There is nothing on it is mentioned in the manual.
Is this normal? is that mean that my laptop is not a new or was defective?

Does anyone have the same experience here?

    Hello

Everything goes well with your knees. Just my recommendation is to create a recovery disc, do not postpone this procedure. Use of high quality like Word to Word and tdk media to burn recovery discs.

  • Satellite L650 - 1KR PSK1JE - dead after BIOS update

As the topic already says, my Satellite L650 - 1 m Ref. PSK1JE is completely OFF after upgrading BIOS 2.40 - bios-download-page VICTORY.

I tried everything: press all the buttons, remove the laptop battery, laptop battery only,... .simply anything!

Sorry to hear you have such problem now. I guess something went wrong and now the BIOS chip is bolted to the top and in such situation you need professional help. Toshiba service provider can help you with this, but I'm afraid, it can be very expensive m.

In the past I never had such problems, but on the net, you will find many pages with description, what can be done. Visit this page and check if you can find something useful. I mean you can try to fix one.

  • Satellite P100-219: overheating after memory upgrade

    Hello guys,.

I've recently upgraded to 4 GB RAM in my laptop, and he did it again.
Computer laptop stops immediately after awhile. CPU or GPU gets really hot. Works fan CPU, GPU was not used intensely. Simple web browsing/cat/emailing.

What becomes hot however is part to the left of the memory/wlan compartment. Is it possible that a chipset gets hot after just upgrade memory?
I tested the memory with Memtest + for more than 3 hours. No errors.

Moreover, the last time that my phone was in ASP it had returned with DMI saying it's Satellite L20! I dunno if that could be related...

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
    mentorek

You have blown the dust anyway? As you say, maybe another component is overheating rather than the CPU or GPU. The CPU/GPU heatsink can be shared with other chips.

Have you installed RAM high performance? His best choose RAM that has the same Timings CASE/RAS as the original factory of RAM.

The name DMI does not cause something like this.

PS. If you're running Vista, you must pass the BIOS and driver nVidia on the Toshiba site

My characteristics are the following: I have a motherboard ASUS P5KPL-CM, processor E5200 Intel Duo Core, 4 GB RAM, 1.5 TB hard and a Radeon HD 4870 graphics card. I built myself this PC. It was Windows XP, but I formatted the hard drive to do a clean install, so now I we a Creek so to speak. Help please?

    So I fixed it!

I do not know what was causing the boot loop, but the solution was simple. I removed my second hard drive, my video card and 2 GB of ram. I've heard say that windows 7 like no more than 2 GB of ram to install. I reinstalled from the disk, and all is well. If anyone else has this problem, it's worth a try.

  • Satellite L30 does not start after the upgrade to 2 GB of memory

I bought 2 GB Crucial memory for my L30. After removing the 512 MB module and adding two modules of 1 GB the L30 wouldn't start. With only 1 GB start ok ok, with the other boot only 1 GB.

Either 1 GB modules and module of 512 MB with start ok. The two modules of 1 GB boot not together. Crucial gave up and offered a full refund, but I'd rather have a solution if possible.

At the BIOS level is 2V30, that I understand to be the latest version available.

    Ideas please, John

    Hello

You're right, this problem seems very strange and I wonder why this happens.
Satellite L30 certainly supports the 2 GB of memory and you should be able to upgrade with 2 x 1024Mo modules!

It's strange, but it seems that these two modules are not compatible together
I found Toshiba recommend module on options and accessories site.
DDR2 400/533 1 GB (PA3411U-1M1G) maybe you could try this one...

In any case, I don't think that you will be able to solve this problem in another way. The modules must be replaced.

  • OSX Boot loops after booting in to Win10 via Bootcamp

    Hello

I did a clean install of Mac OS x 10.11.6.  After execution of all updates I used migration assistant to bring my userdata and apps.  Then I installed Pro Win8 x 64 via bootcamp.  From there, I upgraded to Win10 Pro x 64.  Win10 works great!

Once I shut down and go to start back in to OSX, it boot to loops.  Chimes, starts loading osx restart... repeat.   I started in recovery mode and have already told him to use OSX as a boot drive, and it always starts loops.   Reinstalling OS 10.11 via the internet recovering toured, until I decide to use Windows again.  He eats also 30 minutes of my time just to get OSX running again.

Any advice? I have the Win10 feeling is something EFI settings?  Help, please.

Try to use Boot Camp to uninstall Windows and then see if you get a normal startup. If so, try to reinstall Windows using Boot Camp.

  • Satellite C850-19Z - boot loop error

    I have a Toshiba Satellite C850 - 19Z on Windows 8. I got it for about 18 months.

At startup, the Toshiba logo comes up as usual. Then a blue error screen comes up with a:(émoticône & dit le portable devra redémarrer.) The Toshiba logo rises again with 'AutoFix preparation', then the screen turns off. Still on but blank, & then it just keep looping it. I took it for my University COMPUTER support, they tried to recover with a disc of Windows 8, but it did not work. I contacted Toshiba, they sent me the 8 step guide to recover the hard disk (0 to start holding), but after selecting Yes, it just goes back in the loop again.

Hoping someone can help. It just happened out of the blue when I was not even in the room. I've accepted the fact that I will lose everything on it, but if there was a way to run and save all my stuff, this would be ideal!

It's not easy help this issue.
In my opinion the best test would be USB or DVD recovery recovery recovery image installation, but somehow I feel you didn't create this recovery, right media?

  • Y430A can not boot after memory upgrade

    OS: VISTA HOME PREMIUM 32-BIT
    CPU: P7350
    MEMORY: HYNIX DDR2 667 2GB

I added a 2 GB Kingston ram on the connector 2

First of all, it can be the start and connect to windows,

but after a while, the system of suspension or the SCREEN BLUE DEAD shows,
He cannot even get into the bios screen when I reboot it

but it can be boot up if I remove and reconnect the memory

Sometimes the machine can be restarted and works correctly, except if once I turn it off

    I tried to exchange the slot 1 and 2 with 2 x 2 GB,

and also replace with 2 x 256 MB Hynix memory.

    but it does not work.

The new memory is not faulty or is not compatible because it works very well if it autonomous.

In short, if I install 2 x 2 GB memory, the system may start only once.

Is it the BIOS problem or it's my mistake?

Please help and sorry for my bad English.

    Thanks in advance.

This is perhaps due to the incompatibility of the modules of RAM, working together. If Yes, than to change only the modules will help.

Also looks like Y510 behavior when it was a fresh model - Y510 all were not able to manage two RAM modules. Update the BIOS helped. For now no new BIOS for Y530/Y430, so will have to wait.

  • Satellite Pro C650, boots OK, after Windows starts to the top of the screen becomes white

    Hello

    I have a Satellite Pro C650.
    It starts very well.
I see Windows commissioning - after start-up - the screen goes completely white.

    Has anyone seen this?

Am geussing there could be a loose view link - but I have the screen displays the start-up and initial windows startup sequence.

    Kind regards
    eeiddne

    Hello

I put t think that your display is faulty.
What happens if you access the BIOS at the beginning?
To access the BIOS F2 press and turn the device on/off.

Access the BIOS and let it run for a few minutes and check if the display starts at White.

In addition its recommended to connect an external monitor and generate the display 2. If the 2nd screen is not OK, then the graphics chip could be the troublemaker.

If you think so, why n t contact you authorized service provider?

    > no boot device - insert book and press a key.
Have you checked that the correct boot order is set?
The HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS?

Well, maybe just the Windows installation is confused upward. Therefore, you need to reinstall Windows.

  • Satellite L650 - Touchpad turn off after BIOS update

    Hello
    I recently got a new laptop, a L650-1CN,.
I run different types of software from Toshiba, and one of them is Tempro,
He shows me messages when a new update is available.

Today I saw the message that a new BIOS update v.1.80 was available.
I downloaded and installed. After installing my laptop closed. Then I started again.
But after a few minutes, I noticed that my touchpad disable itself more.
I usually use a logitech wireless mouse.

Now, I wonder if I should do a system restore and not install this update of the BIOS or find another solution for this problem. Because it's really boring.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Buddy,

Usually the touchpad disable automatically if an external mouse is connected, but only if you enable this option in the touchpad settings.

I also use an external Logitech mouse and have enabled this option. You can find it in Control Panel > mouse. Go to the device settings tab and mark the internal pointing device option disable when the external USB pointing device is attached.

    I hope it works :)
