Re: Satellite M30X - battery won't charge unless the laptop is turned off!

I have a Satellite M30X who is about 4 years old and all of a sudden, she stopped electric network load when the laptop is turned on but strangely fees - although very slowly - when it is turned off.

Any ideas please.

Thanks for your help

If you want and if you can, then you could try to replace the battery to check if this problem is related to a dysfunction of the accumulator.
I mean your battery is 4 years old and it wouldn't be nothing unusual if your battery does not work as it should.
My battery is about 6 years old and 3 years may not be loaded correctly.

But note that these are only suggestions and if you want to be 100% sure, you should ask a technician for a detailed notebook check.

I own a HP Pavilion Notebook PC m6, which is less than a month. Regularly, I charge my laptop at 100% before l ' switch off before unplugging. • Satellite A300 - battery won't charge

I have a Satellite A300 - 21 H, which does not charge the battery, I tried a supply of replacement batteries and power with the same result, he said that they connected and charging the battery but in fact is not. Laptop works perfectly on power supply or battery, OS is windows 7. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried to charge the battery while the laptop is turned off or on?

In your case, it would be test when the laptop is turned off. So you can make sure that is not a problem of software of s. check also if the LEDs for charge and connected adapter are on or off.

In the worst case there s a motherboard related problem because you have already tried a new battery and charger so I think that there is nothing more you can do, but it s my personal opinion

  • HP ENVY Notebook PC m6: HP Envy does not charge while the laptop is turned on.

Well, I'm having some trouble loading with my HP ENVY. My laptop does not load as I'm with her. It will charge, but it does charge when the laptop is closed and sometimes if it has locked and disabled.  I don't know if it would be the battery or the power supply? Maybe something internally?

    Key points

    * Battery charge does that when the lid is closed (sleep mode). **

    * If I close the lid and plug in the charger, the light indicates orange and the battery will deliver to load almost exhaustive *.

    * If I open the lid before the orange light changing to white, battery icon always says: _ % available (plugged in, does not support). **

    * I tried to waste the battery. I removed the battery and the AC adapter is plugged in. I tried to turn on the laptop or don't put in place *.

I don't have to replace anything yet. I was hoping to find out if anyone has had this happen to them before.

    Thank you

  • Satellite L500 - battery won't charge

I had a problem last week - my laptop (Satellite L500) works well on alternating current, but the icon shows "plugged in, not load ' and the battery charge is at 0%. So if I remove the outgoing cable it runs immediately. Lighting load LED on the front of the battery is not more.

Laptop is a little more than two years, but works well, everything original Toshiba (battery and charger). I had noticed recently that the battery life was not what it was when lappy was new, but it lasted at least 45 minutes or more, so I knew the battery was endangered, but it is hard to believe it's just failed when two weeks ago could load and run OK?

    Any ideas?

    See you soon,.

    > so I knew the battery was on the exit door but find it's hard to think he's just failed when two weeks ago could load and run OK?

I think that nothing is impossible, that it means that the battery could be defective.
Of course, it is my personal opinion, but I see only two possibilities: either its battery problem or motherboard problem.

So if I was you, I would check if the problem persists with a new battery tested.

By the way: you can also view this short work around:
-disconenct the battery and ac adptor
-Press the button power (30-40 seconds long)
-connect the battery and AC adapter and turn on the device
-to check if the battery can be charged.

  • Satellite L350 - battery won't charge

my computer is 2 months old, and since 3 days, ligth that indicates the battery charge is always orange and won't get the Green and the load to Vista or Ubuntu battery indicator, indicates that the pc is supported, but only 6% capacity. I change the battery with a new one, and nothing changes. I have download the latest bios update, but I have the latest version of the bios for this PC.
    Thank you for your response.

Hmm if you tried a new battery, so it seems that the motherboard has a problem.

Send the laptop to an ASP for warranty repair.

  • Satellite C650 - battery won't charge

Laptop 18 months ago, with Windows 7. Has had a normal household use. In the last days, when the battery has run out and I plugged the AC charger, battery LED green light lights up green (battery charged). And the message I get when I hover over the battery icon is, say, 14% available battery, plugged in, not charging.

I googled the problem and found the battery method Microsoft ACPI compatible control uninstall and remove the battery, but only works for this battery charge. He returned to the Green LED, as soon as I plug the AC charger, even if the battery is at 10%.

Hope someone can help me with this. I'm not a geek so please keep this in mind when replying.

    Thank you.

Maybe it's time to change the battery.
After 400-500 charge cycles the battery begins to lose own performance and sooner or later the replacement is inevitable.

I think you should try a new battery, but it is recommended to test the new battery before you buy then maybe you can visit a distributor in downtown and test a new battery

I was with my hp envy m4 core i7 for quite a while now... recently, I formatted and installed windows 8.1 64-bit installed. When I tried to repeat the entire process as well as close the laptop, remove the battery and turning it again nothing work and completely refusing to charge for its on.when I decided to turn off completely and then it was off it perfectly complete accused 100% operating battery estimated more than six hours of charge time, guys help me to understand what might have developed and what will be the best solution.

    Hi @Phanz,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I entered which you have tried to download the driver on the HP website for your laptop but realized you need the model number.  You have removed the battery while the laptop is running.  Now when you reinstall the battery, it shows that it is connected but does not charge and continues to 7%.   You have repeated the process and close Notepad and removed and reinstalled battery, but there was no change. If you turn off it charges the battery to 100%.

You did all your Windows updates?

Have you tried the troubleshooter in Windows?

First of all, I would like to try a Windows restore to before remove you the battery.

HP computers - using the Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)

If restore doesn't work or is not possible, you could try a Refresh Your PC to solve problems (Windows 8).

Then you can try the following steps.

HP laptops - test and calibrate the battery (Windows 8)

The battery method compatible ACPI Microsoft control is basically the driver that communicates between the computer and the battery. There is a chance that it became corrupt and bad reads the battery level.

Step 1. Go to the Device Manager
    Step 2. Select the stacks
Step 3. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
    Step 4. Click on uninstall
Step 5. At the command prompt, put a checkmark in the box to remove the current driver
Step 6. Shut down the computer

Step 7: Remove the battery for a minute and then put new

When the computer returns to the top it should automatically find the driver.

Step 8. Go to the Device Manager
    Step 9. Select the stacks
Step 10. Click with the right button on the "Microsoft compatible battery ACPI Control method" which is in the list
Step 11. Click "automatically search for an updated driver.

Do the same thing with embedded controller compatible ACPI Microsoft.

Last option is to reinstall your Windows 8.1 Pro.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite C50 - battery won't charge

Advice on how I can get my battery charge. Laptop says charge and 100% complete, says health battery charged and in good health, should be like only 4 months old laptop. Taking the battery out and pressed the button for 30 seconds, restarted, but the problem remains, as soon as immediately off. I think that there should be a light on the front that must be turned on and it is not.

Do you think that the battery is faulty? It is covered by the warranty?

    Thank you

Notebook is only 4 months old, so if there is a problem with the battery, you should get a new one.
You can contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, explain the situation and I hope that technicians will help you.
They can check the power supply Board and know what the problem is. Do it.

  • WiFi won't connect unless the laptop is charging

If my laptop is still very new, about 2 months, but over the 3 days it stopped to connect to any wireless signal, unless he is in charge. It's very embarrassing that you could imagine, and I was wondering if there is any way to fix it.

I noticed you posted this under Windows 8.  Version 8.0 is three years old and hundreds of problems identified and corrected over these years, including a wide range of WiFi problems that have developed over time.

I highly recommend you open the "Windows Store" and get the update 8.1 as soon as you can so that you have an advantage of all these fixes and updates.

If you do not want these updates, you might be able to work around the problem in this way:

    1. On the taskbar of office, near the clock, right click on the power icon and choose Power Options.
    2. Click on the 'Change plan settings' link on the right blue.  Down, then click on the "change advanced power settings".
    3. Scroll to the bottom to find the wireless section and set the "battery on ' the same as 'power '.  This can make the driver work using the same configuration, regardless of power source.
  • Satellite P10 - 802 - CD when the laptop is turned off?

Apparently, my laptop can read audio CDs while it is turned off using the audio buttons dedicated next to the cd player.

He says in the presentation of the product and also the manual.
I don't know how to do. can I just put it on a disk before you turn off the power (if not, I can't eject the disc)?

    Then I press play?

I think you should read carefully read the user manual, because you can find all the information on this subject in Chapter 4-8:

If your computer is on or off, CD/DVD/audio control buttons are locked by default. To unlock, press the CD mode / digital for more than 3 seconds. Press the CD / Digital again for more than 3 seconds to block them again. When the CD mode / digital is unlocked, press CD mode / Digital and digital briefly to switch between the CD mode. The system LED status indicator will show you how you are.

For more information see the user manual and if you n t have it you can download it on the Toshiba site.

    Any ideas what wrong?

If it is the battery which batteries would be compatible with my laptop to replace and how do 2nd hand/battery cost these days for my laptop?

My battery model number = PA3250U-1BRS

I found a battery on a site that resembles a Toshiba Satellite A35 (don't remember if it's A30 or Pro A30) - looking at the Toshiba Satellite A35, it's the same as my Toshiba Satellite A30 it would be compatible?

    Thanks for your time...

Eventually it s a battery but problem is just a suggestion.
I do not recommend buying a second hand battery because second hand battery will discharge a lot faster.
In my opinion, you should buy a new one.

I googled a little bit for PA3250U-1BRS and found a few deals online, it seems that you can get it for 50-60 euros

    Regarding the battery A35.
I think that it should be compatible with your laptop. The A35 is a Toshiba US series (A30 is the European model) and it of very similar to A30.
