Re: Satellite P200d-12U and 4GB memory upgrade

Hello

I was given a Satellite P200-12U with 2 GB of friend of a friend and asked to be upgraded to 4 GB.
Have purchased and installed the memory, but noticed BIOS and still only registered WINDOWs 2GB.
Then went into BIOS

JASAA BIOS V1.40

and I noticed that the options are usually very limited, and that memory is indicated but not selectable.

Do I have reason to think that this machine is limited to 2 GB? And may refer the 4 GB to the shop?

Thanks for any information.

Hello

Can you please send the exact model name?
Subject and then validation you wrote about two different laptop models.

Satellite P200D-12U or Satellite P200-12U?

    (2) if I replace the HDD with a SSD do you know if it will be possible to connect very quickly as with a ultrabook (spec intel)?

    Vince

According to the specifications of the laptop it has 4 RAM slots and can be upgraded up to 32 GB of RAM.
    Rams compatible are:
    4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

I advise you to buy high-quality Kingston modules and you will be safe from the 100% compatibility.

With SSD I think that there is no problem at all. I upgraded my laptop older and it works perfectly.
    Which would you buy?

  • Re: Satellite P200D - 11L and a station

    Hello
I have a question about Satellite P200D - 11L. Is there a docking station for this model (except Dynadock i.e.)? For example is forward compatible with this laptop Port Replicator?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

Satellite P series is not designed for use with the docking station. Can be used with docking station for all models have expansion port placed in the lower corner.

Docking station can be used with all mobile hat belongs to the class of cases like Tecra and Portege. As far as I know a few Satellite pro models can also be used with docking station.

  • Satellite A500 - 1 H 1 - memory upgrade

    Hello

As I am ready to upgrade the memory of my laptop, for the moment, my laptop has 2 x 2 GB DDR3 PC3 - 8500 1066 MHz (at least that is what the spec said). I intend to remove them and put in 2 x 4 GB, but PC3-10600 @ 1333 Mhz. * is my plan feasible or memories of 1333 Mhz are not compatible with my laptop computer motherboard? * problem is get 1066 Mhz is pretty surreal, where I live, because they are quite rare and most shops offer only of 1333 Mhz and higher.

Thanks in advance for your answers/suggestions.

    / Q

    The fact is that Satellite A500 - 1 H 1 supports the Intel Core i3 - 330 M CPU processor and the CPU supports DDR3 modules - 800 1066 Mhz RAM.
Generally, it should be possible to use faster RAM modules as 1333 MHz (DDR3-10600), but the speed will be limited to 1 066 Mhz.

    Hello

    I own a Toshiba Satellite A500 - 1 H 4, and I would like to improve my memory of 4 & 2 GB 4 & 4 installation.
Given the complexity of the subject, I need some information:

-What are the detailed specifications? Memory of 1066 or 1333 MHz? Should have 200 or 204 pins?
-do I replace both of the chips or one would suffice?

    Grateful for answers.

    Also, sorry for my English.

    Best regards
    Piotr

    Hello

AFAIK the upgrade of RAM is mentioned in the user manual.
Have you checked this in the past?

    The laptop runs of DDR3 1066 MHz (PC3-8500) DDR3-SO-DIMM (204 PIN)
    memory modules.
You can upgrade the RAM to 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) because the Intel HM55 supports 8 GB of RAM.

I recommend using two exactly the same modules to avoid some compatibility problems.

  • Satellite C75-A-144 - Kingston memory upgrade problem

    Hello

I recently bought a laptop C75-A-144 and wanted to do an upgrade with the bar of memory KINGSTON 4 GB (4GB 1600 Mhz DDR3 Non - ECC CL11 SODIMM SRx 8).
Unfortunately, the laptop does not start with this module installed. I checked the module in the other laptop (differrent manufacturer) and it works well.
Then... there at - it some compatibility problem with Kingston memory modules and model C75-A-144?

In addition, because I really want to do this upgrade, can someone give me a list of the modules that will work with this laptop?

Thanks in advance for your help.

According to specification for laptop, that your computer can be upgraded up to 32 GB of RAM.
Compatible RAM modules (verified by Toshiba) followed part numbers:
    2 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M2G
    4 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M4G
    8 GB DDR3L-1600-PA5104U-1M8G

Check it please these part numbers and use them to order of RAM.

In the past I ve used memory modules RAM Kingston for upgrade and there is no problem at all. Maybe you're trying to use Rams with different specifications.

  • Satellite P100-219: overheating after memory upgrade

    Hello guys,.

I've recently upgraded to 4 GB RAM in my laptop, and he did it again.
Computer laptop stops immediately after awhile. CPU or GPU gets really hot. Works fan CPU, GPU was not used intensely. Simple web browsing/cat/emailing.

What becomes hot however is part to the left of the memory/wlan compartment. Is it possible that a chipset gets hot after just upgrade memory?
I tested the memory with Memtest + for more than 3 hours. No errors.

Moreover, the last time that my phone was in ASP it had returned with DMI saying it's Satellite L20! I dunno if that could be related...

Thanks in advance for your suggestions,
    mentorek

You have blown the dust anyway? As you say, maybe another component is overheating rather than the CPU or GPU. The CPU/GPU heatsink can be shared with other chips.

Have you installed RAM high performance? His best choose RAM that has the same Timings CASE/RAS as the original factory of RAM.

The name DMI does not cause something like this.

PS. If you're running Vista, you must pass the BIOS and driver nVidia on the Toshiba site

  • Satellite L40-143 (PSL40E-04E00LGR) - memory upgrade

I want to upgrade the memory of my laptop: Satellite L40 - 143 Modell Nr.: PSL40E-04E00LGR

I can find my phone on the support site and the following information for the memory (which is consistent with the information I have):

    Standard: 1,024 (512 + 512) MB
    Max Erweiterbarkeit: 2.048 MB
    Technology: DDR2 RAM (667 MHz)

I understand I can go to a maximum of 2 GB. I have two questions:

    1. question:
By clicking on: 'Zubehör' I get the suggestion to buy the next memory:

    1024 MB (1 GB) memory PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) PA3411U-2M1G
    512 MB memory PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) PA3412S - 2M 51

It is however 533 MhZ DDR2 PC4300, in my manual and on the technical page details it says PC 5300 at 667 MHZ, well? What is the good memory to buy?

    2. question:
I now have 512 + 512 MB in the notebook. Can I buy a single module 2 GB instead of the two modules of 1 GB?

    Thanks for the replies!

    Hello

In your case, I would like to buy RAM with the specifications of the user manual. In the worst cases it runs only on 533 MHz but I tried a little with Google and it seems that the laptop is using 667 MHz modules.
Moreover, I can recommend high-quality Kingston memory.

Regarding your last question, you can only buy two 1 GB modules. It is the maximum capacity for each RAM module.

  • Satellite A500-1F4 and frequency memory problem

    Win7 gives SAMSUNG r.620 DDR2-800 * 6.2 POINT *.
But it gives my laptops memory * only 5.9* which is DDR3

So, I looked at the speed of RAM with everest program and get shocked... It says my ram turn frequency to * 73 mhz * (speed DDR). Laughing out loud...
Update the BIOS to the latest version, but nothing has changed.

This is ridiculous. What it means?

I took the screenshot of everest, you can check it out here:

And your opinion is that Everest is an application more suitable for this kind of thing?
You have the SAMSUNG r.620 DDR2-800 with your laptop?

Strange thing is that all Satellite A500-1F4 I found were shipped with the DDR3 1066 MHz modules. How can you have DDR2 inside?

  • Satellite A505-S6973 and the OS upgrade

Users of computers laptop toshiba colleagues,.

I'm here tonight to find out, my laptop has touchpad buttons and quickplay and wondering if I should upgrade my pc to Windows 7 I was able to use all these features (more eco and pc health monitor utility).

I ask this because currently my pc has, which is supposed to be a hard disk of 500 GB, 317 GB of available hard disk space, but I barely information or documents stored on my system. I understand I have programs installed, but still for this amount.

So, long story short, if I had to remove and install the Windows 7 operating system, and I installed the toshibha value added utility programs package and eco, that would be all I need to dload and install because I love this pc.

Also can anyone with a Toshiba Satellite A505-S6973 tell me if they can smell it the breeze coming out of their laptop because my fan seems to blow slowly and always higher, the temperature on my system is currently 90% and 64% CPU TEMPERATURE FAN SPEED and I HAV my system set up to use low power.

I enjoyed all the comments, suggestions and advice...

I don't have a US mobile phone model and can't answer your second question, but I know with certainty that Win7 works well on the Satellite A500.
Two months ago, I had the Satellite A500 friends home. Initially, it was pre-installed with Vista.
I did two experiments to see how it works with Win7. First I updated it with the Toshiba upgrade kit and everything was OK.
With the new installation of the OS, everything was OK also.

Before Win7 installation please check Toshiba support page to make sure what version is fully supported. Here in Europe only Win7 64 bit is completely compatible.

  • Satellite P30 - 110 and new memory

I just bought a 1 GB memory module to fit into my laptop, but when I put and start the laptop to a blue screen appears and tells me there is a problem with one of the graphics card drivers and then the computer restarts continually.
I updated the BIOS and the ' display readers on the Toshiba site and changed the virtual memory settings, then tried again and now it is continually restarts as before or will start as normal and open windows but will be very, very slow and not all the graphics will be displayed on the screen, (for example the text saying 'start' in the task bar is not there some parts of windows are blacked out) (, and the boxes around these buttons under the name 'ok' and ' Cancel do not appear.)

I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works well if I remove the new memory and just leave the old 512 MB module in weather. I checked the memory and it is of the correct type, there is someone out there who has experienced similar problems or who knows how to fix this, please?

    Hello

If you are 100% sure that this new module memory is responsible for your problems I recommend ordering a new module of RAM from Toshiba or Kingston. The module are tested and they should work fine.

Compatible modules for your unit are:
    512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024 MB (PA3313U-1M1G)

    Good bye

  • Satellite P200D-139 - battery appears to be dead

I have a Toshiba Satellite P200D-139 and for the last year or so the battery seems to be dead (so I think).

the laptop will be work with the charger connected and if the charger is removed then the laptop turns off.

under windows it says sound plugged in but no charge current and charge level is zero percent.
the ac power led is to say I have it plugged in, but the battery light does not illuminate.

If I pull the battery and reinsert it with the laptop is plugged in, the battery light stays on for about 2 seconds, then goes back new.

is this just a battery flat, because before all this happened to the use of the battery if flow from 100% to 0% in 2 minutes.

Yes, that sounds like the battery needs to be replaced.
My 6-year battery is dead too.
It loads and indicates that its full load but after about 1 min of use the battery is completely empty

    That s nothing unusual

I have an error code, but my cd and the laptop (SATELLITE P200D-11MX) are the two new.
"First start" Installation failed, then I tried the recover Option and got this error.

    What is the problem?
And: What I can install Vista again if I format the whole HARD drive? And how to proceed?

Thank you very much for the help.

    Hi Philipp

This is a very stupid situation. I have Satellite P200D too and got my phone several times. Everything works fine and I am really confused now. Can you please write what happening exactly when you try to install the OS using a supplied recovery media?

You can install Vista when you want to. Why you want to format the HARD drive? You don t want to use the factory settings?

My father has a laptop Toshiba Satellite P200D-139 and today a shot then screen is just gone dark.

When the power is off and you start the laptop, the screen is very bright as it should, but after about 30 seconds, the screen becomes dull, as if the brightness has been lowered.

Now when I close the lid and put it to sleep then open it again and then get out of standby, the monitor remains dull. The only way he'll light is by cutting off the power completely and turn it on again but it goes back dull after about 30 seconds.

The laptop is still running from the charger the battery was totally turned off and does not charge for a year now.

I tried to update the drivers and allsorts but can t fix it.

If I understand you right so that you see Toshiba welcome screen everything is OK, but when Windows loading problem, right?
Have you noticed the same thing if you start the laptop in safe mode?
Have you tried to reinstall the display driver?
