  I have a weird question I have not met before.

  When the laptop is turned on, you get the Toshiba splash screen, pressing f2 gets you into BIOS, f12 allows to you in the start menu, both these menus work fine.

  However, no matter what happened it just gives a black screen, for example, if I had to choose the network boot as the first option of starting, or cd-rom or hard drive.

  I tried the following troubleshooting steps

  1 removed HDD/DVD and tried to network boot - nothing
  2 reset BIOS default checked startup items have been correctly
  3 removed ram and ram equipped of well-known work, tried both slots
  4 removed the battery and drained static
  5 attempt to recover the bios using the diskette (results in the same black screen when you try to start it)

  No bios updates were never ran before, all the client has tried to do was to connect the laptop to a projector.

  Any ideas?

  Why do you update the BIOS?

  If nothing works after the Toshiba screen it appears to be a malfunction of the equipment. You must contact the nearest authorized service provider for professional assistance. You guys can check the cell phone and fix it.

• Screen flickers because cable stuck into the hinge - permanent no solution? (dv3t)

  My screen dv3t has developed a white flicker bad all over the screen, if I push down on the right hinge area (to the right of the icon wireless on the body "bezel") he goes, but it always comes back... I was open the housing and relocation of the cable and it helps for a while but the problem always returns and I'm getting sick out all these small screws (I had been referring some chips on top of the cable insulating tape so it moves in the hinge where it is probably pinched).

  I thought some kind of small sleeve plastic (hard), installed around the cable maybe it would protect. I brought it to a pc repair shop and they have looked at and said the cable was fine (no); They recommended buying a new laptop (!).

  Without being able to see, I'm limited on suggestions. Cut a part of a straw plastic, packaging and attaching it duct tape around the same area, you've been putting pieces of Chatterton autour would be a viable option? It may have to be short and thinner in diameter than a regular straw to fit this space. Feel free to send pictures if you have the time.

  Hello, I have this problem with Toshiba satellite A300.

  I deleted several files and folders of my drives C and E. To restart the computer, it only shows the Toshiba logo then a slightly gray white screen on a thorough inspection. Whenever I press CRL + ALT + DELETE, the computer restarts and behaves in the same way.

  I tried to use an external monitor, but there is no difference. The tent to start using a CD/DVD, same behaviour occurs, it does not start and screen remains blank after the Toshiba logo, I tried even to change g the order of boot, but in vain.

  What could happen?

  It seems that you deleted system files and Windows no longer starts. Have you tried to restore the disk image factory settings or hard drive recovery? Or do copy the Windows installation... It is easier to reinstall rather fix the problem.

  Unfortunately on this path, it is not easy to say why this is happening. Each user has a specific configuration OS and we don t know how your operating system is configured.

  You can boot OS in safe mode? If Yes check what the problem may be a little. If there is anything you can do I recommend you save all your data and preinstall unit using rescue media. If you do this I recommend also to create two partitions.

  Don t compare WXP and Linux startup procedure. As you know that Knoppix using just the RAM and no HARD drive for the race.

  40GBs is the minimum; who will be vey quickly useless.

  Recovery partition would have been photographed by the manufacturer of the computer hard disk and you can't replicate that.
