Re: Satellite Pro A300D - firmware for the DVD player?

Hello

I recently got a nice new Satellite Pro A300D of my work and was just my typical thing to go through the update of their efforts. However, when you try to update the firmware of the DVD drive for my particular model (PSAK9E-00C003EN), I realized that the firmware he suggested was wrong. After watching on my pc, I discovered that my drive is Pioneer DVD - RW DVRTD08A (1.50), but I can't find information anywhere on the net about the updates of the firmware (or the existence of this drive at all!). Could someone point me in the direction of some information and firmware more recent if it exists?

Thanks for any info that someone has!

Willybob

Satellite Pro A300D was equipped of various CD/DVD players.
On the Toshiba driver page, you can find an update of the firmware that came out for a CD/DVD drive that was not installed in your laptop and so you can not install this update.

If you are unable to find an update of the firmware of your CD/DVD drive, then an update doesn't exist and is not necessary!

Is it possible to recover the old firmware (1.50 worm) or newer for DVRTD08A drive?

Unfortunately, I flashed this drive with the wrong firmware version 1.54 to DVRTD08L with label flash function.

My drive does not have this feature. This firmware will not affect the player functionality?

    Hello

Unfortunately, you can download only the updates of the firmware which are available on the European driver Toshiba page.
If your favorite firmware update is available, then you would be able to downgrade it.
Is there no firmware then you can not change this :(

    > Will this feature of player firmware affect?
It's not easy to tell in many cases, you can still use the CD/DVD drive and will not see any changes, but sometimes this incorrect firmware can damage the disc and make it unusable.

  • Satellite Pro A300D - driver for multimedia audio controller

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite pro A300D and someday the built in mic, built into the camera and the speakers stopped working.

When I checked the Device Manager, I saw that the driver for the multimedia controller wasn't working so I uninstalled and went on the toshiba site for the installation of the new driver.
When I watched the drivers to my computer, they have everything except this driver!

Is there anyone who knows were I can find it?
I use the computer to work with the music and I'll record some people soon and I really need to work!

    Best regards

    Hermann

    Hi Hemmi,

Interesting to know is which operating system you have.
    Can you post this information?

Generally, all the drivers are placed on the Toshiba driver download page. There is an audio driver for normal output audio (speakers) and the webcam software. The latter you must also for micro because it s a part of webcam.

  • Satellite Pro A300D - what is the model number for the keyboard?

My husband managed to dislodge a key on my keyboard CAP and broke the clip white scissors that holds up on... (don't ask me how)

He spoke of the authorized service center here in Norway and they sent us replacement scissors tongs (actually they sent an old non-functional keyboard), but the clips are of a different design to those on my laptop.

I was wondering if anyone has an idea of the model/serial number of the keyboard used in the Satellite Pro A300D-151 (PSAK9E) so I can get the correct replacement part.

I really don't want to have to replace the entire keyboard when it's just 1 scissor clips which is broken... the laptop is only 5 months old.

Here are some pictures of the scissors clamp in question and where it attaches to the keyboard (sorry for quality)

    Hello

Boyfriend sorry but it is not possible to exchange a few individual keys on a keyboard, so in this case, you must replace the full keyboard. But normally, it shouldn't be so difficult.
Either you exchange the keyboard yourself or you sent the laptop to the authorized service provider.

The model number for the keyboard is not known to me but contact your ASP! They can order all the parts of Toshiba and they should know the right part number.

  • Portege R700 - restoration of utility for the DVD player

On my laptop (Win7x64), I only need to restore the software DVD player. Yes, I could restore the system to factory default from the HARD drive or my recovery disks self-made, but according to the manual, it's a process all or nothing. Hello

You want to install the DVD playback software pre-installed? This tool isn't available for download for Windows 7 64 bit and cannot be installed with the entire recovery image recovery disk.

But why to install a DVD player? Just use VLC media player which can play a large number of other audio and video files. It s freeware nice tools and makes unnecessary DVD playback software. You can download it here:

  • Dialog box for the DVD player

Whenever I put a disc in my dvd player, a dialog really embarrassing opens asking me what I want to do with the contents of the disc. I can't find any obvious way to stop it.

    Anyone know the secret?

    Hi Alan,

This box appears because Windows didn't say what to do with the content it finds on the disk. Part of the installation for Windows includes this type of information so that the application will be launched when a disc is inserted.

There are two ways to deal with it: -.

    1. when the dialog box appears, select the application you want to use for the type of disc, and then click the checkbox "always use this application. Then in the future of the dialog box will not appear and the application will launch automatically. (Note that you will need to do this for each type of content on the disc you are using.) You can even choose an option "Time to Action No." If you wish.

    2. you can disable the optical drive AUTO play feature so that Windows will not attempt to launch applications at all when a disc is inserted. It is up to you to start some application that you want to use with the disc you have loaded. (The best way to proceed is to use the Microsoft TWEAKUI application, which is part of the software available on the web site of Microsoft Powertoys).

  • Why is there a limited number of changes in the region for the dvd player

    Hello

I live in the US but have a number of DVD in the United Kingdom - region 2, I occasionally like to play. When you place a region 2 DVD in the tray and launch, I am asked to change region 1 (used 99% of the time) to region 2. BUT there is a message saying that I only have a limited number of swaps in the region (and now I go out)

    Issues related to the:

    1. Why is there a limited number of area swaps?

  • Satellite Pro M70, Possible replace the DVD - RW drive?

I thought that in the future come lightscribe Slim DVD - RW. Is it possible to remove the build - in the disc that came with the computer, with a slim-line DVD - RW. I think the connection, it is standard on all readers optical slim for laptops, or is it IDE/SATA or something like that?

    Hi whc

Physically, it is possible to remove all parts of the laptop. On your device should not be a problem at all. The problem is the compatibility of the player.

Each car will not work (can not recognized correctly) on each laptop Toshiba and, in my opinion, you should check the compatibility of the player by the service partner before buying one of them. Your unit is a mobile most recent with fantastic super multi DL drive. As James said, wait and you'll see if Toshiba will be those and also compatible drivers for your device.

  • Satellite Pro A100 IO error - CD/DVD player-

    Hi all

My car does not start or read, all I get is an error of e/s.
She produced just out of the blue and after trying to fix it on my own I had to turn to my local computer dealer, but all he told me was to send my laptop in to Toshiba for a renovation, impossible to determine themselves what the problem was.

I saw on the net that the carpet * a player installed on this laptop isn't the most reliable on the market, with similar errors a bit, but unfortunately, there is not too much advice on how to correct this problem.

Is there anyone out there with a few aces up their sleeve, or the best thing just to get a new laptop?

    > fix it on my own
As I see that you are trying to fix it yourself and nobody don't we know what you did exactly.
I still don't know what you want to correct. Either player is working or not and that there must be a reason for it. This reason is known to you?

In any case, the assignment of pins is not the same for all readers, and if you use some with the wrong pin assignment you will get this error. So, if you want to fix this alternative to find and swap the drive with a compatible. Nobody says you have to use the same model.

In s manuals you can find a list with all compatible readers for your laptop model.
    Check it out.
