    Hello

I did an upgrade from 32-bit Windows 7 Professional (clean install) to my SatPro this week, and almost everything is fine. I reinstalled Win7 readers listed on this site and my software with no obvious problems. I say almost because the switch for wireless on the front of the unit has stopped working.

Previously with the switch pushed to the left of that internal map could be put off, it remains now on. The light goes out! The wireless card works OK and connect to home and office wifi networks, but I can not turn off when connected using a connection cable.

Any thoughts on how to restore the switch function? I have looked for the readers, but cannot identify all.

Once, I had this problem on my A500. I pressed Fn + F8 to disable wifi and switch pushed to the left, in any case just to play with it. In my case, it helped me.

  • Satellite Pro L300-1 b 9 cannot connect to my wireless router

    Hello!

I activated the nw wireless on SAT L300 PRO 1 b 9 - but with a lot of struggle...
First I had to find the switch to turn on (I never got :-)).
Then I had to uninstall Atheros Windows and set flags on (activate) in the Windows driver.

But in Linux and Windows, I couldn't connect to my wireless router.
My luck was that some of my neighbors have a wireless network security-disabled, open, I could map to test.
The test was succecfully with this network, but my wireless router was inaccessible.
The other machine I could reach it.

    The result was:
If I set the router to broadcast the SSID, the two OSs (Ubuntu + Windows) can use the wireless network.

But if I turn off the broadcast (to protect my router), the network driver is unable to use my router, it does not matter I set the SSID...

A router is WRT54G, and he works with other computers if I hide the SSID, but as Satellite Pro L300 unable to connect (with this option).

Someone knows why? What should I do to I could hide the SSID to the bad guys?

I put t know what Windows operating system you use, but if you use original Vista, I think that, good WLAN driver is part of the package. For the wireless network adapter must be properly installed.

It is not easy to say what the problem is here, but if the laptop can see and detect your WLAN network side laptop computer s everything should be OK. Try to reboot your router and check all the settings.

In my opinion, there is a problem with the WLAN settings.

    > I tried to boot from a dvd with xp sp3, and report a problem, maybe a virus or a bad hard drive
This may be a virus, because the new installation of the OS would erase the entire HARD disk and you'd get a clean OS.
Maybe it's a hardware problem if it would be a HDD issue then you cannot start the operating system of the s. You would only see an error message that OS has not been found.

You can check in the BIOS if the HARD drive is recognized, otherwise will need you a new HARD drive.

The new laptops Toshiba are not equipped with recovery DVDs!
There's a reminder installed on the laptop and it says that you must create a disk recovery first!
Looks like you've ignored it or didn't check this and now you have any disk :(

  • Satellite Pro L300-1FL - WLAN network adapter does not exist

    Model: Satellite Pro L300-1FL (PSLB9E)
    Operating system: XP Pro SP2
    Wireless card: PA3616u-1mpc (atheros AR5007)

the laptop came with pre-installed vista, everything worked very well (including wireless), although a little slowly, but decided to downgrade to xp. integrated SATA drivers into my xp with nlite installation disc. XP installed fine. visited the toshiba support site and downloaded all the drivers for xp and install.

Despite the installation of the wireless driver there is still no present in the wireless network card device driver. It is an "unknown" device listed, which I think is the wireless card.

at first I was not sure what card appeared so systematically installed that all options of wlan of the toshiba download page [intel/atheros/realtek], none has worked. little more digging autour and discovery was a then reinstalled atheros atheros wlan client on the toshiba site. still did not work. found a update atheros ar5007 driver installed, still no joy.

forward wireless switch is on [the orange light] and has been throughout the process. have you tried enabling / disabling fn + F8, which doesn't do anything.

I think I read somewhere (having read much too many post on this over the last few days!) that update the BIOS to version 2.4 can solve the problem. However the version offered for my model by the toshiba page BIOS update is 2.1 (which I've updated when you install all drivers in xp) and I'm not that eager to update the BIOS to a version that is not supported by toshiba, because I have no idea how fix an incorrect BIOS prevents starting the computer.

When you look at the BIOS option "wake we wireless" is grayed out and not selectable. There is no other network without wire/related parameters. This might infer that the BIOS does not recognize the card wireless for some reason any. whereas he should have before, I started to lose its time, as worked it fine under vista wireless. so I think that upgrading the BIOS might have broken, although I can't be sure that I've updated the BIOS until I realize that the without wire did not work under XP, so it could have been broken before the BIOS update. Does this sound plausible? also, I have no idea how if is take to solve this - you can downgrade the BIOS?

any help greatly appreciated - have been pulling on my hair for 2 days now and there is only so much googling, you can do before find yourself you constantly re - visiting the same sites over and over again!

    Thank you

worried that he may have been conflict for different drivers wlan I had initially installed, so have done a complete re - format and re-installation of xp. Install the drivers, including the wlan driver atheros. but still no adapter wlan in Device Manager.

the unknown device in the other section of the Device Manager is listed as an ethernet controller; However glancing upward from the PCI/VEN # (C & DEV_001C 168) on the basis of data from the provider PCI identifies that this is indeed the atheros card.

This means that it is not a hardware/BIOS problem as I previously suspected. XP can 'see' the device, but for some reason, the driver won't work. Hmm

someone at - it had a similar problem? is it just a matter of finding the "correct" driver

  • Satellite Pro L300-128 - startup problem

    Hi all

I recently bought a Satellite Pro L300-128 GB specification, that has a Celeron M550 running Windows XP and a construction date of the end of June 2008. I have a problem with the switching on of the machine if it has been turned off for a long period of time.

Basically, if the AC cable is inserted into the computer laptop and plugged in, the green light turns on, but pressing the button it does nothing. By the process of elimination, I have found that, after a short period of time (say 15-30 minutes) if (and only if) the AC cable is then removed from the laptop, it lights up then!

Plug the AC cable, while the laptop is on, do not cut the machine and charge the battery as usual. The battery life seems very good, if a little short (say 1.5 - 1.75 hours when used "constantly").

If the computer is restarted, it lights again very well - if it is turned off and left for a few minutes, once again no problem. But, if she is not with the battery fully charged and left all night - it lights again in the morning.

Now, as a new machine, I'm wondering if the battery needs a long initial load (such as a mobile phone)? Nothing is said about it in the manual. I have not yet checked if the battery down completely himself during the night. I haven't run the battery to the laptop for a long time (say all day) to 'trickle charge '. I don't know if the period from 15 to 30 minutes to get the thing started is once again because the battery is completely discharged during the night (I need to check the BIOS to see if "Wake up we LAN/wireless" is activated)-anyone know how long a fully discharged battery must be charged before that the machine will let you start it?

Under the machine, there are two battery release buttons and it seems loose - I don't know if it's related, but can't see how. Moreover, when the question arose (during the first delivery the laptop), I removed the battery and tried power upwards of food, but nothing to do.

I ran all the software updates (chipset etc) I can find on the download page, the BIOS version is 1.40 (last) of the factory.

Any suggestions would be welcome before I have use the service of repair under warranty for the first time! I don't know if it is related to the fact that the power button seems to be a micro switch rather than a good button/switch in the conventional sense of the term, i.e. you can 'feel' it do something!

    Thank you very much
    Richard

    Hello

If you have purchased a new laptop, the battery is empty and needs to be charged in the first place.
You can also connect the adapter to the laptop while the battery is empty and the laptop should also lights up properly.
The laptop must also run without the battery and using only the AC adapter.

It should also be possible to put the laptop by pressing the power button for about a second, if this is not possible, a malfunction of the laptop could be possible.

In such cases, it s always advisable to contact the local ASP for a verification of the laptop.

I mean your laptop is under warranty and if something is not wrong with the machine so everything must be replaced free of charge

In my opinion, the laptop must be checked!

  • Satellite Pro L300 WiFi continues to drop and doesn't reconnect until you restart

Hi, I have a Satellite Pro L300, number of model PSLB9E - 00G007EN running windows Vista professional.

Recently I started trying to connect to my wifi at home instead of using the ethernet cable.

Research shows my home network and then I connect with the password, everything all right at this stage, sometimes an hour, sometimes for 10 minutes and then the connection disappears. When I try and re-connect it does not find any wifi network, but I have not moved from where I was when I was connected. I have I-phones, etc. and another laptop running windows 8 connected wireless, and there is no problem with any other machine, just my toshiba!

Sometimes if I turn off the wifi using the switch at the front and then put it again which solves it, but once again only for another 10/20 or 30 minutes. Sometimes even that does not work and I have to restart the machine to find the network! It works, but once again for a limited period until he gave up the connection and it disappears again, back to square one.

I even tried to take this work and connect to the wi - fi, but still exactly the same thing happens, so I think I can rule out problems with my home network / router.

I'm not very good with computers, but have managed to check if the driver is up-to-date, etc., and all appear here... Help, please!

I think that the wireless is the following: Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802. 11b / g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network adapter

    The driver version is: 6.1162.610.2009

    > I think that the wireless is the following: Realtek RTL8187B Wireless 802. 11b / g 54Mbps USB 2.0 Network adapter
Yes, you are right, the laptop seems to be equipped with the Realtek RTL8187B WLan card.
This wireless network card supports 802.11 B and G standard.

    First update the WLan driver.
Here you can find the latest WLan drivers available on the Realtek page:
    [Driver Realtek RTL8187 WLan: http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=21&PFid=40&Level= 5 & Conn = 4 & DownTypeID = 3 & GetDown = false & downloads = EU tr]

This driver is for Win XP / Vista / Win 7

In the event that the issue will not be resolved, go to the Device Manager.
Choose the WLan card-> properties and go to the Advanced tab
Here, choose either the 802 standard. 11 B or G. This setting depends on the settings of your router. If your router supports 802. 11 G, you must choose G

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro L300 (PSLB9A - 02L 001). Have'nt after being on the dial for the year last I was wireless (it worked well before that) but am now back on broadband but I don't seem to have any wireless.
Checked the Device Manager and there is a yellow exclamation next to the ethernet controller and it seems there is no pilot, but apart from that, there is no further details. I tried to update the driver but it cannot find the driver on my computer and it will not search the Internet for this.

I tried, but none of the drivers I downloaded seems to work...
At the back of the computer laptop is a sticker - PA3613U-1MPC, I think it's the wifi card that is missing the driver but I can't find a driver for it for the life of me...

    Any help would be wonderful.

    Try this;

This should renew all your network cards and must assign the IP again.

Using the ipconfig command, check if the wireless adapter is listed in the list.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - 29 c very dark display

    Hello

The display on my Satellite Pro L300 - 29 c is very, very dark. It's dark, both during POST / in the BIOS and configuration once Windows loads. The brightness of the screen (Fn + F7) is set to the maximum. If I plug in an external display, which works perfectly. I can say that this model is not a physical wheel or something similar that controls the brightness of the screen.

Should I have a hardware failure? Is this something fixable by the user?

    Thanks in advance.

I can't say for sure, but I think FL inverter is faulty (backlight) and it should be replaced.
The FL Inverter control the backlight. It is important that FL Inverter are not too expensive part.
