Re: Satellite Pro P300-1FP - no ball calls when low battery

My mother just bought a P300-1FP.

It's great, but the laptop is not pop up a balloon invites when battery becomes low. We are aware of the possibility of passing the mouse on the battery in the notification area icon, even though this is not always an accurate indication of remaining power and also it is a problem to remember to periodically.

I have an Equium L10, which usefully prompt a ball about 5 minutes before runs. Is there a setting for the P300-1FP to do the same?
Thank you.

Hello

Just a question: what operating system do you use?

On Windows XP with Toshiba Power Saver for example I can configure the method of notification, e. g. sound + notice, notice only.
It should also be possible on Vista: http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD84026Q0000R01.htm

But don t forget that some programs like XP-Antispy tuning or something else may disable those balloon notifications.

Good bye

  • Occasional Satellite Pro P300-1FP - gel during video playback

    Hello forum,.

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite Pro P300-1FP, age about 4 years old.

    Running Windows 7 (32-bit version).

An occasional but annoying problem: when playing video, from time to time the whole system freezes. Sound continues to come from the speakers, but it is usually either an idle down & distorted version of what I should be heard, or a noise buzzing/scream loud, repetitive.

System retrieves ever - only freezes completely, unresponsive, frozen display, the mouse pointer moves, etc.. Have to restart every time.

Anyone know what could be the cause of this & how can I fix this?

    Thank you
    Alan.

As far as I know SP P300 works well with Win7 32 bit. My brother has the same machine and use it with Win7 too. We checked often performance with different games or playing different videos, mostly from avi or mpeg files. Also very good race and YouTube videos smoothly, so I really don t understand why you have this problem of gel.

Have you installed the Toshiba download page display driver?
HARD drive is extremely busy before that happens?

The same thing happens when you play games?

  • Satellite Pro P300-1FP: need drivers Windows XP

    HI -.

just bought a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300-1FP.

Came with Vista installed. I would like to use XP instead.

The aircraft crashed the first time I tried to install XP.
I looked online and found that I needed to change the BIOS settings to work around this (SATA, "AHCI" to "compatibility").

This and that the installation worked fine, but there are a lot of missing drivers, for example for the sounds, graphics, ethernet, wi - fi, etc..
This leaves me in a difficult position since I am currently unable to connect to the internet to look for the missing drivers missing drivers.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

    Thank you very much

OK buddy, I want to help you

First of all he must know that your Satellite Pro P300-1FP belongs to the series of PSPC9E

  • Satellite Pro P300 - BIOS upgrade to 64 - bit

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro P300 - 266 PSPCDE and I am very happy with him.

Since I have a WIN7 64 bit OS, ready to use and 8 GB of RAM I need to update the BIOS to 64-bit.

I found a WinPhlash file on the support site of Toshiba (toshiba - tro.de) bios called - 20090226124829.zip. I tried to use it as described in the Toshiba support on the use of WinPhlash (http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9502M10000R01.htm) page. Also, I made an exception for WinPhlash in the registry of the DEP.

    It still does not work.

Since I am a user knowing very mediocre modern computers I guess I'm doing something wrong or I can be monitor something... can anyone please help me upgrade my system to its full capabilities?

    Thank you

    Aernout

You don't need to upgrade BIOS. If everything works well don t change anything.
I have Satellite P300 with preinstalled Win7 32 bit and works perfectly.

How do your shopping with the 64-bit version?

  • Satellite Pro P300-25W - noise fan too heavy

    Hello

I just got my Satellite Pro P300-25W and I hate the noise of the fan. Is there a way to make it less noisy race less often?
I updated to Windows 7 and installed the drivers from the Toshiba DVD.

In power options I selected everything to be optimized battery / record maximum power in the advanced power settings. But still, the fan runs almost all the time. I use Windows to surf a little, the CPU usage is very low (less than 10%), there is no 3D graphics movies or something goes on that would put fun on the GPU.

    It drives me crazy.
I can do something, or should I just bought a laptop?

    I hope you can help!

    > Is it possible to make it less noisy race less often?

There is an extra entry called Toshiba Power Saving and there you can change the performance of cooling module for battery or power mode.
    Usually, this should help

But note; It depends on the internal temperature! Higher temperature means more rapid cooling modules
It might be also possible that your cooling fans are full of dust and debris and prevents air circulation, remove dust and clean the fan using a jet of compressed air. Who helped in my case

  • Re: Microphone completely after installing XP on Satellite Pro P300

My father bought a Satellite Pro P300 that I went down to Windows XP by using the included CD/DVD.
Later, we found that the internal microphone is very quiet when we tried to use it.
We need to yell into the microphone to get any sound at all, more like sounds random blip. Type the microphone sounds more scratch.

All other sound effects are great. speakers work fine. We connected an external microphone to the mine in the laptop and video calls worked without problem, the problem is only with the internal mic.
I saw that someone else has the same problem in the forum (link: [http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=33844&tstart=0]), but it does not say how or if this problem has been resolved.

I would really appreciate if someone could give me the fix or a link to the fix to our problem other than plug in an external microphone.

    Hello

Windows XP supports a microphone amplifier. Have you enabled it?

Go to control panel-> Audio & Sound Devices-> advance tab press Volume button

    Optionally, select advanced controls

Then you should see the volume of the microphone. Please set it to a higher value.
In addition, press the advanced under the microphone button.

Here, you can mark the micro amp.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - install the graphics driver

    Hi all

This is my last resort before I throw this laptop through the window - and it is a gift for someone for Christmas.

    I recently bought a Satellite Pro P300 - model PSPC1E-005008EN, 2 GB RAM, 17 "display and Intel GMA X 3100 video card.

As a very experienced engineer, same one that makes me tear my hair out.

When the bike video car is installed with the ATI drivers what we call, or drivers intel I get an error 12 code saying there are not enough resources to launch pilots.

When I discovered the Device Manager with the hidden devices turned on that I have 2 video cards, 1 that works properly and 1 in the error state.

I uninstalled the drivers, all the video cards software related and reinstalled all, or just the drivers and still no joy. I have a laptop that shows no model model of monitor or video card in display properties and the resolution doesn't go above 1024 x 768, and the image is so bright.

    Can anyone help?

    Hello!

Your P300 has an Intel GM965 graphic card so I put t know why you want to install ATI drivers?

I think the best way is to reinstall Windows with the Toshiba recovery disc.

Or you try the graphics driver from Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

Normally when you purchase a Toshiba laptop do not install some drivers or utilities from Toshiba, it s all preinstalled.

  • Satellite Pro P300 - no recorded on Skype voice

    Hello forum,.

I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro P300. Configured as a system dual boot, Windows 7 (32 bit) / and Ubuntu 11.04 (also 32-bit).

I like to use Skype only occasionally. The laptop has an internal microphone, and when using Skype on Ubuntu it works fine. The use of Skype in Windows, however, does not work. When I do the 'test call' Skype and try to save my voice, all I hear is silence.

I guess that there is a missing driver, or something like that.

In Windows 7, Skype said "your microphone seems to work very well" and gives me two devices microphone to choose among, both called "Microphone (high definition Audio Device). There is no error message to be seen, but nothing happens.

I'm sure this is a simple solution, but I do not know how to proceed. Can someone please advise?

    Thank you very much

    Alan.

    Hello

The microphone is a part of webcam and if it doesn't work, you need to reinstall the driver for the webcam. Make sure that you have installed the latest version of the Toshiba page.
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Also make sure that the microphone is set as default input device. Right click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select recording devices. Select the microphone as the default device, and check if the amp microphone is activated.

  • Satellite Pro P300 has NO stereo Mix in Vista with Realtek sound card

    Hello.

I have a P300 with Realtek internal sound card and drivers updated.
I NEED a stereo mixer in the recording devices, but I currently get only a MIC input, even after checking "Show offline and disabled devices."

Yes, I updated the drivers HD Audio of this site Web and Realtek and still nothing.
The only other thing that could affect this, but I don't see how I use ASIO4ALL drivers audio in conjunction with the Realtek drivers.

I'm running Vista 32 bit Edition Home Premium

    Hi mate

I confused m do you know why?
Because you talk about audio driver Realtek and sound chip and my knowledge, that the Satellite Pro P300 was equipped with the audio chip Conexant!

It s NOT the Realtek chip! It s Conexant!

According my Conexant audio chip experience can't stand stereo mixer in the recording devices!

  • Satellite Pro P300 - 23L - horizontal lines on the taskbar

    I have a portable Satellite Pro P300 - 23L.
Last night it suddenly appeared, about 30 horizontal thin white lines on the taskbar (actually on the bottom half inch of the screen).
The top 3 or 4 of these lines seem to pulse in a fast and regular way.

Now, I can barely see the icons in the taskbar, or the button to start in the lower left corner.

I read on another forum that the problem may be due to a problem of "grounding".
The charger plug is actually broken and repaired the wiring myself, but that some time previously, so it is possible that a connection is loose or is now was something shorting causing this effect.

I had to order a new charger but in the meantime would appreciate any assistance in order to confirm or deny that this could be the problem.

Any advice on how to remedy this?

    Hello

If the problem would be with the power adapter this lines should NOT be visible using the laptop with the battery. Right?
Therefore, it would be really interesting to know if the same lines are visible if the AC adapter is not plugged in.

But I think that this is unrelated to the power adapter. In my opinion its a display issue or a graphics card problem.
Therefore, you must connect an external monitor to check it out.
If the same lines are visible on the external monitor, the graphics chip is assigned the case, it could be a display problem.

I have a Satellite Pro P300 - PSPCDA 03 P00D: I would like to know the best option for high-quality audio from this unit to a blu - ray player or an optoma projector. (Or a good way to find the answer)

The blu - ray player has hdmi (the satellite does not work) and the optoma projector has a 3.5 mm mini-plug.

The satellite has a sound piece dolby - is it possible to get a feed for audio output dolby?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Not sure but I think that the headphone socket supports S/PDIF
I think you should check the user manual for more information on S/PDIF
If his support, then you can use it to get the best audio quality

    Hello

The European driver Toshiba page provides two audio Conexant drivers for this model of laptop.
    + Driver sound + 4.36.10.0
    + Driver sound + 4.83.1.0

I recommend the new version 4.83.1.0
Uninstall the old driver first in the Device Manager.

Restart the device and install the new downloaded drivers.

Hope this helps to get better sound quality :)
