On my Satellite Pro S500 (preinstalled Windows 7 64-bit) change the brightness by pressing FN - F6 or FN + F7 does not work. The other NF - f... combinations seem to work correctly.

When I press FN - F6 (or F7) a control box to change the brightness to poster (as expected), but the level is still displayed as "1" independent of the current value (for example changed from Control Panel or with the eco utility) and it is not possible to change it with FN - F6 or F7. I just reinstalled vap and restarted the computer, but nothing has changed.

    Hi asdf.

I put t know what s wrong exactly but normally the FN keys are associated with value added Package, but you wrote that you already reinstalled

In my opinion, you should try a system restore to an earlier point. Maybe something messed up the registry, you can start System Restore in Windows Advanced Boot menu.

    Help, please.

    Hello

The FN keys should work after install Toshiba common Modules.
Depending on your other threads you have not installed the common Modules on this laptop and I assume that this is the reason why don t FN keys work properly.

    The solution is simply.
-Go to the page of the European driver Toshiba
-Choose your laptop computer and downloaded and install the common modules

    Welcome them

  • Satellite Pro L20 USB ports no longer work

    Hello

A little bit ago, I experienced a few problems with my Satellite Pro L20. After he brought to life, I found out that the USB ports no longer work.

    Things I've tried so far:

    Reinstall the chipset drivers
    Update the BIOS.
Ensure USB is enabled in BIOS
Uninstall and reinstall the USB controllers via the Device Manager.

The USB ports no longer work and I ran out of things to try. Any suggestions?

    Thank you

    Hello

If possible, try to install the operating system with recovery media. On this way, you will have to factory settings. It's the best test you can do. If the problem persists, it may be a malfunction of the equipment. Sorry but on this path is not easy to tell what the problem may be.

  • My Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE7E) touchpad no longer works

    Dear Sir.

My problem is my touchpad does not work, I usually enable it or disable it in a tab to hide automatic at the top of my desk (which was disappeared after I updated to Vista SP1), after that and accidentally stopped the pointing device driver,

I tried to re - install again but I could not find out who the good driver for my laptop is (ALPS Synaptics pointing device or pointing device)?

I tried to press FN + F9 key but I had no change that the touchpad is not working, so I have to use a USB mouse...

    Can you help me please

Note that I'm using Windows Vista Business SP1, Toshiba Satellite Pro A200 (PSAE7E)

    Thank you very much

Have you checked the Device Manager? Normally, you should see what touchpad you have exactly.
So the latest driver, you can download the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online support & downloads-download drivers online

    Check it!

  • Satellite Pro A200 - Fn keys does not work with Windows Vista

    Hello

I own a Satellite Pro A200-PSAE7E and a license to retail for Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit Edition (with SP1) is installed.

Before installing Vista, I have updated the BIOS to the latest version available on the Toshiba site ([http://it.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/vista_drivers.jsp?service=IT]).
BIOS version is now 2.20 - WIN32 contained in this file: [http://support.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/bios-20080404121735.zip]

After the installation of the operating system, I installed "Value package" ([http://support1.toshiba-tro.de/tedd-files2/0/vap-20080109135106.zip]) that contains the "utility Flash Cards". In my understanding, the installation of the "value added package" should allow the use of Fn keys.
This doesn't seem to be true or not true.

    Here's what's happening.

-Prior to installation of the 'value-added' package, all Fn keys did not work.
-After installation of the "value added package", if the process of TCrdMain.exe is running, all Fn keys do not work.
-If I remove the startup TCrdMain.exe and I restart the PC, only a few keys Fn function (Fn + ESC, Fn + F1).

There is no way (or I have not found a way) for all keys Fn works.

Someone knows how to fix this?

    Thanks in advance,

    mme000

I am not sure, but it may be because of the SP1. I installed Vista Ultimate on A200 and stuff all listed (drivers, tools and utilities) from Toshiba support page.

Contains your Vista DVD facilities SP1 or you install on your own? If you install Vista Ultimate Edition (without SP1) and all the stuff on the Toshiba support site order Instructions of facilities.

    Hello

In this case, I recommend a restore of the system to an earlier point.
    Check this box!

Which is a good example to never touch a system running! ;)

  • Satellite Pro M30 - FN keys do not work

Sorry to answer in English, but when I write in German get a message that my "message contains profanity.

I also have the version of the Bios 1.6

The FN keys do not work. On the suggestion of a technician at Toshiba, I should update the Bios.

I also have all the problems above. Cannot install because of administrator rights.

Really desperate for this update. My screen is very dark and the FN keys could solve this problem.

    Thank you

If the n t FN keys work, I recommend installation of the common Modules.

You can find this tool on the European driver Toshiba page.
The M30 Pro Sam seems to be an older model laptop and so the drivers are located in the Archives!

  • Satellite Pro A100 - card reader no longer works

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro A100 - PSAACE-008002EN, that I bought a month ago, its worked perfectly so far and has been fantastic to use.

The main part that I use is the memory located on the front card reader, I have used it with SD, MMC and cards XD for my pda and cameras, until now, it worked well, but recently, I was music transfer etc for my Sony PSP Memory Stick using a Memorystick Pro Duo Pro adapter so that the card fits properly in the slot and it works very well.

All of a sudden the laptop can no more read on my MS card, I tried the card in a usb card reader and it works perfectly with or without the adapter. The laptop card reader reads cards SD MMC and XD, still perfectly fine but when I framed my memorystick, it shows the stick as being there in my computer, but when I click on the dialog box appears and says that there is no disc?

I tried to install the latest drivers but it does not work, any help is appreciated

    Thank you very much

    Rich

I found this information and first of all, I want to put a list of supported cards:

SD (support of multiple Digital Media Card slot) capacity 8MB - 2GB
Memory Stick (supported by several Digital Media Card slot) capacity 8 to 256 MB
    photo 16-1 GB xD card
Memory Stick 8 to 256 MB
Memory Stick Pro 256 MB to 2 GB
    MultiMediaCard 8 MB - 1 GB

According to this list, the Memory Stick Pro Duo is not supported. But you used an adapter.
But maybe this is a reason why the card reader cannot read the MS cards more.

What you can do is to remove the card from the Device Manager reader, and after new restart try to install this new device

  • Satellite P750 - Soft Touch keys no longer work, nor of the FN keys

Recently my soft keys touch has stopped working. My laptop is only around the age of 4 months. Had been working fine so far. No new software had been placed on the laptop in the week before the soft keys touch, stop working. I tried to use the FN and function keys, but they did not seem to do anything.
I tried to push for a restoration of the previous system with no result. I uninstalled and reinstalled the value added together as suggested several places in this forum and most who did for me is to kill internet bandwidth and my time.

Is there a solution for this or I have to send this to a warranty repair?

I noticed you want it seems to be a common problem across all series of portable computers satellites. Is there a common error here?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hello

Next to the installation of VAP, the Support of Flash memory card utility must be installed also.
The control of the utility Support of Flash Card FN buttons

If this is not enough, you have another option: you can get laptop to factory of course it is method ridiculous because the HARD disk should be formatted in such a way case before doing this, backup data, first.

  • Windows XP Home on the Satellite Pro L650 - FN keys do not work

    Hello everyone!

I have a problem with my laptop. I have satellite L650 pro Windows XP and then install drivers and utilities hotkey. But the hotkey buttons do not work. (fn + f5 and others)
    What should you do?

    Hello

I think that the installation of the Hotkey Utility is not enough
As you can read in other forum threads you must also install Toshiba common Modules.

So please check again the Web from Toshiba site and download/install the common Modules. Then retest FN keys.

    I hope it works :)

  • Satellite Pro L100 - FN keys does not work

When I press Fn + F5 to switch between my LCD and an external monitor, nothing happens. Do not see all the windows appear on my screen to display the current mode of the screen (LCD or external) while I'm activating/deactivating keys.

By pressing Fn + F1 (function of the white screen) also does nothing.
However, the brightness & related Fn + sound combinations work.

It seems as if a utility somewhere does not work.

    Please notify.
    Thank you.

For Vista, install the package on the Toshiba value added in.

  • Satellite Pro S500-139 - FN + F9 key does not have to turn off the touchpad

    Hello

I use a Satellite Pro S500-139 and am having problems with my F9 key. When I tap my palm touches the mouse and send the cursor somewhere else on the page. I reinstalled the ALPS pointing device and now have access to the Advanced setting that I was not able to get.

Although I can set the sensitivity etc. I would really be able to use the shortcut to disable the mouse momentarily while typing. My keyboard shows that, if I press fn and F9 the i should be able to disable the mouse but the function does not work. F9 all other functions seem to work.

Do you know if there is a solution to this?

I am running windows 7 pro 32-bit service pack 1.

What you can try is to reinstall extra package from Toshiba.

Then downloaded the latest version (2013) the update of the bios for this series and windows 7, 32 bit. When I try to run the update I get the message "this computer is not supported". If anyone can help.

Try to hold down the F12 key during the restart of the unit. You will see several options on the page that appears. You'll want to install at the bottom. I have the case of the warning you will are you aure you have win 7?

Most of the time you get this error, or you have a different version, in this case 64 bit? or another OS 8.1 or 10? Take a look at your computer, control panel settings of IE - settings then you can ook at what OS you have and the 32-bit version of or64.

  • Satellite Pro S500-14Z - how to access the BIOS?

    Hello

on the Satellite Pro S500-14Z I can´t access the BIOS via F2 and can´t change the bootpriority through F12. By pressing F2 or F12 during startup, the S500 beeps and restarts. When you first start, I had access to the Bios and set the password and active supervisor module TPM. Since I have no access to the BIOS before Windows starts. Is there another key to access bios (I tried ESC, DEL, F1, INS) or how can I change the pw supervisor (I know my real password!) and disable the TPM?

    Thank you
    Karl

    Hi karlS_1,

Normally you can access the BIOS if you press F2 before Windows starts. It works with an external keyboard?

You can change some settings in the BIOS using Toshiba HWsetup. This tool is preinstalled on your laptop and you can change the order of boot with this tool.
