Re: Satellite R630 - 13L randomly display brightness to OverDrive ramps

Since the purchase of my R630 - 13L, sometimes the brightness on the screen to not appararent reason would begin to thin to the point where the screen is saturated and the graphics download "upset".

As randomly as it started, it ended. I thought it was some kind of sensor related to the camera built-in that adjusts automatically the brightness based on the lighting conditions, but then again I wasn't changing my environment I see not all the controls in the display panel.

The problem now is that when it saturate the display (as it is now) it stays on overdrive.

Everyone knows this?
Any suggestions or ideas?

Hello

The brightness of the display can be changed using the Fn + F5 (decrease) key and Fn + F6 (increase).

Have you checked this key combination? Does that help?

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite R630-141 running Windows 7. During the last two weeks, I noticed that I had the machine will be during the suddenly very too saturated color and very high contrast. This makes it impossible to see some fine lines (e.g. the gray contours stars in gmail disappear completely) and become completely distorted faces and bands of color. Restarting the computer solves the problem. I have the latest drivers for the graphics (8.15.10.2189)

I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem and if I should send it the laptop in return?

    Thank you

    Hi cueball,.

This strange s version the pre-installed Windows 7 in Toshiba or is it your own installation that you are using right now?

This probably has nothing to do with the display driver that it would be interesting to know what is happening with an external monitor. So if you connect an external monitor, you may notice the same problem or everything is ok?

  • Can I use Satellite R630 with Netgear and Intel wireless display technology

    Dear all,

I am a user of a Satellite R630-105 (processor i3 M350). I would use this laptop with Wi - Fi on my plasma on the wall display. Recently, I heard about Intel wireless display technology connected to the Netgear adapter as a possibility for wireless connection to the screen.

Can I use my computer with this technology? If so, what is the process? If not, is there an alternative, using cable is very inconvenient. I'm at the beginner level.

Thank you very much, to come.

    > I would like to use this laptop with Wi - Fi on my plasma on the wall display.
Can you please me for what purpose you need this connection?
I mean what kind of data you want to transfer?
With other words you do exactly?

What system is preinstalled on your Satellite L50 - A series?
Have you changed anything in the configuration of the system?

  • No 3D video on external projector not connected to the Satellite R630 - 14H

    I bought a projector that supports 3D 1080 p videos.
I plugged in my laptop Toshiba Satellita R630 - 14H with a HDMI cable which should also support 3D.
I used reading software that should also support 3D and downloaded a few demos to the SBS format.

But when I play these videos, they are really displayed side by side and not as 3D.
When I say the beamer from 2D to 3D, it always says that the entrance is not in 3D.
The program of Intel graphics driver that has been pre-installed lists a 3D option.

What version of HDMI the R630 - 14 H uses?
    Support 3D-video?
    Am I missing something else?

    > I plugged into my laptop Toshiba Satellite R630 - 14H with a HDMI cable which should also support 3D.

Where did you get or find information about the 3D on this laptop support?
Technical data Toshiba Satellite R630 - 14 H says that this support unit unit internal Intel HD graphics.

Sorry mate but this isn't 3D capable graphics card and I don t think 3D release would be possible.

To be able to use an external 3D monitor or projector, you would need a laptop with compatible 3D graphics card. For example a GPU nVidia Driver compatible 3D display, (NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit) 3D glasses and 3D compatible monitor or projector (120 Hz).

  • Re: Satellite R630 - HDMI - the image on the TV was not whole screen

    Hi all

I just tried to connect my Satellite R630 with my LCD TV with a HDMI cable. However, the image on the TV was not all screen, with the HDMI 1 port (my TV has 3 HDMI ports), there was still the black space of 1.5 inches.

I was wondering if there is anything I missed? The connection with the TV was very good with a good old VGA cable. Thanks for any advice.

Have you tried to play with all available display settings?

  • Satellite R630-141 - Bluescreens after virsus

I have a Satellite R630-141, which recently began to be planted in a blue screen. This product at random, even when he's not be used and sitting idly. I initially thought it's bourne virus so using zonealarm security suite I ran a scan of the entire depth. I also ran malwarebytes. The two scans are a total of three infections that have been quarantined. This does not resolve the issue.

My second step was to run the check disk HARD windows and memory check that both have no problems.

Then, I thought that this may be caused by overheating. Using the Toshiba PC health monitor and a freeware called coretemp I followed the core temperature hovering around 30-40 degrees centigrade and with moderate use that can go up to 60 ° C with gusts thereon to 70 C idling. I don't know if these temperatures are in the correct area, but they seem fine. I ran a CPU and RAM stress test, which has managed to increase the temperature to 90 c without crashing the system, the fan speed is tilted very well thanks to this test.

before doing a complete restoration or repair, I wanted to ask if this is a known issue on or if you may be able to give a reason for his appearance.

    concerning
    end

    Hi findlay234,

To be honest, I doubt that the problem is caused due to overheating. If your laptop overheats it would power off immediately or freeze, but I never had a problem with blue screen due to a higher temperature.

In your case I might make a recovery facility. Maybe the virus deleted some files (registry) important and that s causing the bluescreens.
You can use the recovery disc HARD reinstall Windows, but don t forget that everything on the first partition (C:\) is removed, so back up your data on another drive.

  • 15 "version of the Toshiba Satellite R630

I am migrating from a 13 "MacBook Pro because, frankly, I can't stand his fragile keyboard. As a writer, most of my creative energies are hi-jacked by rage whenever I have do typo. Indeed, which is very common. I've identified on the Toshiba Satellite R630 as one with which I do business the keyboard and I'm a fan of Toshiba computers in general.

However, I have enough desire to a screen 15 '' rather than another 13 "one. Anyone would be able to recommend a very similar to the R630s of Satellite from Toshiba model which comes with a 15 "display? I realize I will probably have to compromise on battery life, but I'm willing to do that. Ideally, it would take 4 GB of RAM, an identical, good keyboard map graphics and excellent display.

My budget is between £650 and £1,000.

    Any help much appreciated.

What do you think about 16?
I mean that the keyboard or similar (and keypad) is used on the Satellite A660.
I have 3 months now and it is great piece of hardware.

  • Screen on my Satellite R630 has a strange resolution.

The screen of my laptop went much paler and more contrast. For example, photos on FaceBook are pale yet contrasted so that people look at oranges.
This website the text more pale is also very low and difficult to read. East of the sidebar to drag and down its barely visible, what can I do on three lines in it!

It is certainly not something iv pressed or because I was not on the parameters of the screen for centuries, just checked and they are all as usual.
IM so worried, everythings much harder to read and I've only had this laptop since Christmas.

Its a Satellite R630 passing PLEASE HELP!

Have you noticed that using the browser only, or is it a kind of general display problem?
Did you notice this when you enter the BIOS when you see the Toshiba welcome screen or when Windows loads?

  • Satellite R630 - HDMI does not work

I tried to connect my Satellite R630 X HDMI with my Sharp LC-32XL8E of Full HD 1080 p TV.

The tv will recognize the connection but indicates an 'incompatible signal' and remains black.
The Satellite rotates the screen in black and will only be if I disconnect the HDMI cable.

If I connect via RGB too, the Satellite will operate in RGB and (!) HDMI mode, but with the native resolution of 1366 x 768.
Try to use the RGB Mode and changing the resolution 1920 x 1080, any resolution above 1400 will not appear.

I think that the Sharp and the Satellite will not be correct on the possible resolutions.
Two other laptops (old!), I tried with the same tv works well: I connect the tv and the tv will show the desktop in the right way.

What can I do? I can't access all the options while the laptop is connected by HDMI, because both screens will only show black screens. When I disconnect, the satellite will give not any possibility to set a monitor, which is not actually connected.

    Hi Verwaiser,

How do you spend the TV? You can test the FN + F5 key for this combination. Then, you can switch between all monitors (internal and external).

In addition I would test another cable in your case.

Also try to update the display driver. You can download the latest version of Toshiba's official website:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

  • Satellite R630-14 days - WLAN turn FN + F8 option does not appear

I just got my Satellite R630-14 days with OS Win7 in German so I reinstalled the OS is in English (Win7 Ultimate).
I installed all the drivers supplied by Toshiba (Chipset utility, value added package, WLAN Broadcom Wireless Driver, etc.), although when I press FN + F8 combination only keys to toggle the Bluetooh is available.

Turn WLAN switch option is not displayed.
Because of this, I can not disable the WIFI network.
Why the WLAN switch option does not appear even after installing all the drivers?

    Hello

What it means that all the FN keys work correctly, but only the Fn + F8 for WLan is not OK?

Hmm I think it has something to do with the WLan driver. If the WLan driver has not been installed properly, then you will not be able to activate this using FN + F8.

Check-> network adapters Device Manager and check if the wireless network adapter is listed correctly!

  • Satellite A100-151: Win 7 + brightness problem

    Hello world!

I just upgraded my toshiba Satellite A100-151 with Win7 ultimate.
Now, I have a problem with my display brightness setting.
On win xp, I was able to adjust the brightness using the FN + F6/F7 key... but all the keyboard shortcuts and the FN keys no longer work on win7 and I can't find drivers... Please help!

    Thank you

    Hello

You must install the package of value added.
I visited the Toshiba page and found the package of value added for Win 7.

    Download and install it!

  • Satellite A300 - screen goes really bright

After that I connect everything works well on my Satellite A300, but after a minute or so, the screen gets really bright, can someone there help me with this problem? Thank you.
Games like cod4 work fine without any extra brightness.

As far as I know Vista there are 7 levels of display brightness. To be honest, I can't imagine that is the lower, for you, too bright, but all we have own opinion on it. Just for example, for my daily work, I use level 6. I don't like the maximum level.

So there is not much you can do. Power settings choose your preferred plan (I use BALANCED) and set the brightness of the display. This plan will be loaded whenever you start your laptop and you can work on your laptop by using the lowest level of brightness.

That's all that I can say about it.

  • Satellite R630 - integrated webcam does not

    Hello

I hope someone can help me.

My built-in webcam on my Toshiba Satellite R630 spontaneously stopped working in the last two weeks.

    I tried:

-Check if it is enabled in the BIOS and there is no option to select a webcam here.
-Restore my laptop computer to a previous state when the camera worked. This no longer works.
-Updated the driver for the webcam - it installs the driver but then it disappears and nothing happens.

A few things that it might help to know:

-In Device Manager, "imaging devices" are missing, so I can't find the driver for the webcam here.
-J' used to get a pop-up whenever I turned on my laptop which was loading a webcam bluetooth but saying that he could not. This stopped happening; I think I turned it off in msconfig.
-It is not a hardware problem
-Yesterday, I had a weird time breakthrough - I downloaded an app on my phone to try to use it as a webcam through bluetooth. I had activated bluetooth on my phone and laptop. I plugged my phone into my laptop and the pop-up the camera bluetooth (see previous point) came, but this time worked without the error message. However, instead of my phone works like a webcam, the blue light came next to my integrated webcam and who has started working. I thought it was fixed then all closed and ejected my phone and webcam stopped working again. I tried to repeat this sequence, but with no joy.

I'm really frustrated and ideas. Can anyone help?

    Hello

If imagine device isn't listed in Device Manager, it means that the module is not found. Even if the driver is not installed, the module must be included in the BIOS as imagine device, unknown device, etc.
    But this isn't the case

So I think there are two possibilities: the module's fault or the connection between the module and the motherboard (Controller) isn t put in place.

As far as I know the internal webcam module is connected to the USB controller.
If the connection drops (cable) the module will not be recognized in Device Manager

From my point of few, it must be a nuisance material
