Re: Screen dead on my Satellite A200-27U goed

Intermittent (and frustrating!) problem with my new laptop Satellite A200-27U. Every now and then the screen turns white and the only way to return to work is power off (and the battery) before turning on again.
This problem may occur twice in the space of an hour, or not at all for a day!

Any ideas?

Hello

I assumed that the screen remains empty after that laptop computer went into sleep mode or displays have disappeared because of the power settings.
Well, I read about it in the various threads and everybody says that the BIOS update should help resolve this annoying problem.

So I would recommend visiting the European driver of Toshiba page, to download the good BIOS and then to perform the BIOS update.

Good luck

  • Satellite A200-27U not wakes up after hibernation when you open the lid

I just bought a new Satellite A200 27U which goes a lot so far.
However, I have configured in hibernation mode when I close the lid.

I can't resume automatically hibernate when I open the lid.
I have to press the power button.
Is this normal, should resume automatically?

If yes how to do it do?

It is the same with my Satellite P200 and I think it's normal. It is the same on my second laptop preinstalled WXP.
Putting into service is not automatically and after you open the laptop I have to press power button / stop too.
But it is not so problematic. What do you think?

You use Windows XP Home or Vista edition?

  • Power connection Satellite A200-27U

I just bought an A200-27U from Amazon, and I am concerned about the AC adapter.

Sometimes when you first, try to turn it on, the blue light of DC - IN doesn't come on. You physically disconnect the power cable on the side of the computer, and then reconnect again get on, to power the computer. Jiggling around has no effect, you must physically, remove it and reinsert it.

When turned on, it is fine, it's just the first step.

This has happened several times in recent days.

Can I have some sort of defective or is power connector - this normal?

    Hmm that's strange
I think that both parties should be checked; laptop and the power adapter.
I mean that the two parties could malfunction; the AC adapter cable may be broken or electronic power to the Board of directors could cause this problem too

Anyway, as you can see we only provide suggestions and only authorized technician may be able to know exactly what's wrong.
I think you should contact the ASP in order to ensure that the question is not really serious

  • Re: What screen is compatible with Satellite A200 PSAE3

    Hello

I have a problem with my screen is damage.
Now my question is what is compatible with my laptop so that I can find another that is compatible with my laptop.
I didn't ask Toshiba how much it is for a new screen.

    PSAE3 A200
    Model number: PSAE3E

So, I hope that someone can help me.

    Hello

The laptop has been equipped with a 15.4 "widescreen XGA display. Is this good?
In my opinion, you can use most 15.4 screens in this model of laptop A200.
You can also order such screen partner of service authorized in your country.
They should be able to provide all the compatible parts.

But note; the internal screen for laptop is one of the most expensive parts of portable. This replacement can be really expensive.

  • Black Screen on Login on Satellite A200 on Vista

My new boots OK Satellite and takes me to the fine login screen. When I choose to connect, I get a normal screen as if it's going through my home page, and then after a few seconds the screen goes black, with just the showing white arrow cursor.

To get out of this I go , move the user to another user and repeat back to me as a user. Then it works OK but it will quickly thanks to a black screen when I change new user.

Clues as to what is happening and how to fix it?

Have you installed and configured the Toshiba picture yourself?

This is a very rare issue because there should be only one user configured (you).
I think that you need to insert the recovery CD and should recover the laptop to check if the same thing happens on the new OS installed.

  • Black screen randomly on the Satellite A200-10 x

Hi, recently my laptop started giving me a black screen for like once a day. Now, the past 2 days its been quite... 4 times this morning! The symptoms are: black screen + DVD drive LED lights up and stays like that. So, I stop it manually.
Sometimes he does once again as soon as I load Vista.

There is no specific request which is the cause as it happened all through my emails. I have updated the BIOS VGA drivers and too.

I don't think that it's an overheating problem because he never gave me problems before, and compared to other laptops, it becomes not that hot.

It is still under warranty, but it is so random, I just hope that the technician will say just that its nothing. Any ideas?

    Thank you

    Hello

Have you tried an external monitor to your laptop computer? If the external monitor works properly I think that there is something wrong with your internal LCD. Maybe it's s inverter a FL issue because this part control the backlight of the LCD screen.

In the worst case, there is something wrong with the motherboard or graphics card but an ASP is able to help you. The laptop technicians can check your laptop and share the material if it of necessary.
Here, you can search an ASP:

  • Satellite A200 screen backlight is disabled

I'm having a problem with my Satellite A200.

When the screen is opened, the backlight is disabled. You can vaguely see the screen keep it turned on, but it is too small to read.
When you close it, you can see the screen backlight turns on, it stays on for just less than one second when you re - open the lid, and then turns off again.

I guess that it has something to switch the lid being faulty.
    Can someone suggest solutions.

    Thank you very much
    Anthony

This part of the message is very interesting:
    > You can vaguely see the screen keep it turned on, but it is too small to read.

According to your description, you can see the screen and eventually the office too, but the entire screen is very low as behind a thick fog.
    Could this be just?

Well, I think that this problem could be linked to the failure of inverter FL.
The FL inverter is a tiny part hidden behind the frame of the screen and it controls the backlight of the screen s.

In my opinion, this part should be checked by a technician for laptop.

  • Satellite A200 - black screen of death

    Hi all

I have a Satellite A200 PSAFCA-01K00J model. This model, I bought Harvey Norman in Australia, but I can't find any registration on the web site of current Toshiba or abandoned. This sux because I am looking for any bios updates available to address a recent black screen problem.

The first time this has happened that I was able to reboot after removing the battery/cut the current to several times before its good. The next day, after an attempted works to install Kaspersky Anti-virus update the same problem... Power disconnected, removed, deleted drums (replacing the cylinder one and then the other to check the faulty ram memory cards) of ram and hard drive and then bled off residual tension with start button. Through this process several times before finally successful. I had to pass by it a few times since after restarts automatic windows updates, etc. I extracted the procedure to manually reset the bios by jumping it, but it's something I want to avoid doing this until I've exhausted all other options.

    Toshiba Satellite A200
    Model - PSAFCA-01K00J
    O/s - Vista
Hard Drive - 160GB with 50 GB of free space remaining.
System 32 with proccesors core duo. (intel)
    Bios Version/Date-phoenix Technology Ltd 5.20, 25/10/2007
    SMBIOS Version - 2.4

Any idea of sourcing on the last correct bios or any other input gratefully appreciate it... :)

    > Black Screen Of Death
What happen exactly when you start your laptop?

By the way: I ve checked the download from Toshiba on http://www.mytoshiba.com.au/support/download page and can not find this old model of laptop. I don't understand that Toshiba to THE is some archives for old models like on the page of European support.

Anyway, I don't think that BIOS is the reason for this behavior.

  • Satellite A200-1CR - black screen and no boot

    Model:
    Toshiba Satellite A200-1CR

    Question:
By pressing the power button to power on the computer for a full boot, the power LED lights up but still black screen (not even of lighting). The logo led 'Satellite' in the lower left corner of the chassis remains off while the HARD drive has made a unique quick snap; DVD activity led (the device) always remains on even without any CD inserted, by pressing the eject button do nothing (status bar is locked) and no sounds of activity.
No logo screen of boot (show stays), not of beeps dark and wide, no DVD or HARD disk activity, keyboard seems does not (all combinations that should light up an led, capslock, numlock, etc, does nothing), the fan works.

I have already (without success) tried:
-Unlock the tray, insert the rescue CD and power on
-Remove the main battery and power on with AC adapter only
-Insert a bootable USB stick/external HARD drive

The computer worked as expected the day before and there has not been any kind of shock. Described is the situation I faced when I turned on the next time (only 24 hours later).

    What could be wrong?
    Thank you.

    > By pressing the power button to power on the computer for a full boot, the power led turns on but screen stays black

Well, looks like hardware problem; Maybe the memory problem or something serious with the mother or the CPU. It of really difficult to say what could cause this.
You can try to check the RAM modules.
Trying to start using a maybe only module, it is useful in the case otherwise I fear, you will need assistance from technicians Toshiba ASP m

  • Re: Satellite A200-1BQ, does not not after the screen saver

Hi, I have a Satellite A200, 32-bit Windows 7 OS. When you use the screensaver to the PC stop responding. Have to spend because no response.

If you have a report some problem send it please.

    Hello

This means that Windows 7 hangs and does not answer only when the screen saver has been activated?
Have you noticed the same problem with Win XP or Win Vista?

If not then this behavior of the laptop could be related only to Win 7 and I think that it might be caused by the graphic card driver

Remove the graphics driver that you have installed and test the screen saver using the common windows driver 7

It would be interesting to know what is happening

You have disconnected the display while you cleaned up the laptop?
Are you sure that the display is connected correctly?
    Check the cable?

    > The laptop shows that read the hard drive and the processor works well.
How do you know that? Flashing LED HDD?
You know, it's not easy to say what may be the problem.

You can also try testing with external monitor.

  • Satellite A200 - 14 d - screen freezes

    Hello

I bought a Satellite A200 - 14 d 4 years. During the last week that the screen was frozen and I could do nothing. The mouse or the keyboard worked or ctr + alt + delete. I tried to format it and I thought it was ok until that it happened again. I tried to reinstal and reformat the drive, but the problem remains. (Even during the new installation of Windows Vista, it froze again).

I think that the problem has to do with the hard drive but am not sure. Can you help me and what do I do?

    Thank you

    Hi gfotis,.

You have reinstalled Windows using the Toshiba Recovery disk or original disc of Microsoft? The Toshiba Recovery disk contains an image of factory for all drivers and tools will install automatically. This image has been pre-tested by Toshiba and normally everything should work perfectly.

It's not easy to say what the reason is mostly in this case but theoretically it could be the HARD drive on this virtual path. You can test the HARD drive with special diagnostic tools to drive as Drive Fitness Test. do a search on Google and you will find this program or others, they are free! :)

  • Satellite A200 - screen turns off without reason

I have a Satellite A200-E530D on Windows Vista Home Premium. For a month, I had something strange happening on my computer, shortly after the start, the screen turns off. without good reason! the only option I have is hard to system boot and everythings... Although a few times after the restart he still went.

I tried to upgrade to the last poster of drivers (I have an Nvidia Geforce Graphics card 7300 Go with 128 MB of VRAM)

Another weird thing, Vista SP1 does not install on my machine. tried to uninstall my Anti virus, but that did not help either one.

Can anyone shed light on my dark screen?

    Hello!

You have the same problem on an external monitor?
I m not sure if it s a display problem, mother or software card
