  If you are upgrading Windows 7, it should have pulled the driver from 7 or installed in native mode.

  If you have a system with Windows 8 natively, it should already be there.

  If you have the Recovery Manager, you install all the drivers and applications from there.

  Otherwise, I will propose to restore the system to factory settings.

  Thanks that solved the problem of missing driver.

  Had to download off site due to firewall blocks FTP. But as an alternative would download flow anyway.

  One needs drivers Intel gigabit network.

  The other requires the Intel Management Engine Interface driver (or the driver HECI).

  This device is not the reason why you are unable to connect to the internet.  I suggest you find a PCI or PCI Express x 1 card network card and install it in one of the available locations.  I can't make suggestions on personal credit cards because you have not specified what operating system is installed. I'm fairly certain this isn't Windows 8. Your venerable PC is a bit too far back in the Windows 8 compatible PC platforms.  It's impressive that it continues to work after all these years.

  If you have installed Windows 7, then the simplest solution, especially if you have access to a router wireless, would be to install a dongle usb wireless for internet access.
