  • Satellite U405 - S2833 Fingerprint error: could not open the sensor

Hello, I am very new to the forums so I apologize in advance if I don't give all the necessary accurate information in this thread.

I have a Toshiba U405-S2833 and it came with the TrueSuite Access Fingerprint Software.

I downloaded an update a few days ago, but I don't remember if it's for Vista or Toshiba. Since then, my fingerprints were all removed from the system, and when I try re - save, I get this error message "error: could not open the sensor" I can't find the material to fix the sensor manually without going through the TrueSuite software.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

I am also having the same problem.

My boss uses a Satellite U405-2628 fingerprinting and with the sensor TrueSuite Access Manager. It worked fine, then I updated windows and it has stopped working. I was on the updates and noticed an update of TrueSuite and thought that maybe that was messed up things.

Then there were other issues that went past me locked out of the machine (anti-virus and loss of relationship with the field... also my fault). So I decided to wipe the machine and install fresh Vista.

I installed everything but the TrueSuite software still not able to open the sensor. After hitting my head on it, I decided enough was enough and I restored it using Toshiba recovery disks.

It took a few hours and here I am logged in as administrator and the TrueSuite software still cannot open the sensor. I don't know what I can do, since it is to return to the factory settings.

As the above poster said, HELP!

    Thank you.

    ... a little later...

Well, I managed to do work, and this can be useful for some people out there since I found no easy answers. I can't guarantee anything, and it's really complicated... so here go us.

First, I downloaded the latest update from Toshiba (util_fingerprint_27460A.exe) and nothing has worked.
Then I uninstalled the sensor since (click right, uninstalled) Device Manager to uninstall the driver as well (it should invite you to do so)
Then, still in the Device Manager, I scanned for new hardware and it came with my sensor. I said to look for drivers and when he could not find, I think it gave me an option for windows search for an answer... or something like that. He came back with a link to Authentec (www.authentec.com/win7update/w7wbf32.exe, I think). So I downloaded that and installed. He rose through the device under "Biometric devices" then before... I think it's under the "Personall security device" or something like that. But alas, still no luck. So I uninstalled all the device from the Device Manager (taking care of uninstalling the driver as well) and of the TrueSuite software. Then came the break I was looking for.

Online research I came across this page... http://members.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?action=download&driverid=1194755. I had the chance before to DriverGuide.com so I thought what the heck. It is a driver of HP for the same sensor and it is dated 2006. So I downloaded and installed. Still nothing...

Disgusted, I thought, well let's try to install util_fingerprint_27460A.exe on top of that. So I did, restarted and I couldn't believe my eyes when he said to connect and register fingerprints not seriously. And so I did. I hope this helps people, I don't really know how the sensor I so messed up, but I'm glad it worked.

Yet one thing... and this may be important. When I took TrueSuite first after doing all this, he told me that the storage of fingerprints was full... or something in that sense. So I clicked the button remove all traces of fingers button and it I would like to register my fingerprints. I'm starting to wonder if that was all I had to do in the first place... Guess I'll never know.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite A300-M01 - fingerprint - cannot open the sensor with Win XP

    Hello

I got a Satellite A300-M01 with Windows Vista but my my software is very slow, so I'm a Windows XP Installer to put in. After that, the fingerprint reader no longer works the registration of fingerprints he'll only say 'Cannot open the sensor' and if you access the service of this device it says "specified device instance handle does not match this device."

I already downloaded the driver for this sensor of isd.toshiba.com.au, but after the installation, the problem is the same. Any info is much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello!

Have you installed the tools and all the other drivers of Toshiba?

Search on the Toshiba site for a BIOS update.
Maybe this can solve the problem.

    Good bye

  • Cannot open the database: TrueSuite Access Manager

Whenever I try to record fingerprints in TrueSuite Access Manager, I get an error indicating that it was unable to open the database.

    Hello

Have you tried to reinstall the TrueSuite software?
I think that the registry is confused upwards or a part of the software is damaged. Who knows.
But I think that a new installation of software could help to make it work again...

  • TrueSuite Fingerprint error "error: could not open the specified database.

    Hello

I bought new Toshiba Satellite P300-PSPCCA two weeks back and fingerprints worked very well. Suddnlly stoped working. I was getting connection to fingerprint for the unavailable error message when I start my laptop. I try uninstalling and reintalling software Truesuite and dirvers but no luck. I downloaded the latest version of the software from toshiba Web site but still no luck.
I was looking for a solution and I have read on several forums that must back the driver, if who does not then the only solution would be the factory default setting.

I try to roll back the drivers, but still, it does not solve the problem. Finally, I put my laptop to factory default and still having the same error message...
I also tried to delete all fingerprints via the Truesuite software but I get "error: failed to remove fingerprints...

It has no option in the bios to wipe the fingerprints of memory... because I saw in IBM there is option in the bios to remove the fingerprint via bios... but not at toshiba...

I really need help with my problem... Please... someone help me...

    Kind regards

    Hello

These questions are not easy to solve. Many people have noticed problems with this software and everything what you have done is OK, but one thing is strange to me.
After the new installation of the operating system using the Toshiba recovery image everything should work perfectly. After doing this you have the same situation as after the purchase and start. Then I don't understand how you can have this problem again. The fact is that the stored data will be removed by cleaning the drive HARD or OS recovery to factory default state.

On this forum, you will find many similar topics. Please put impossible to open the database specified as search terms in the advanced search option and check the listed topics. You may find the final answer.

  • question about cleaning the sensor of the A57

    Dear community of Sony,

I have several questions about the cleaning of the sensor of the A57.

Recently, I noticed several dark specs appearing on images when shooting at low opening (F20, F22), especially when there are high for them (like the sky in a landscape photo) contrast. To my knowledge, I've categorized as possible of dust on the sensor. I have read the section of the manual about cleaning the sensor and followed the procedure. However, the problem remained. I have previous experience with cleaning of the more resistant the probe of a Sony NEX dust particles, so I applied it to the A57. I used the specialized sensor cleaning tools combining two parts kit - wet and dry. Noted little dust on translucent mirror as well, so I cleaned up afterwards. Later, I considered this mirror could have some specialized coatings.

So my first question is: should I have done some permanent damage the mirror or the sensors? Currently, the camera works OK, although some features of dust still remain. It seems that I had pushed some of them to the edges of the sensor.

I'm not so happy with the tool that I used. I'm thinking about this one for a more thorough cleaning:

    http://www.digitaltoyshop.co.UK/Eyelead_sensor_cleaning_kit_SCK-1_Sony_Alpha_A57_t2836_6789

It is marketed as a tool for A57. Should I use it?

    Thank you in advance?

    Best regards Angel Marinov

PS: I'm really happy with my Sony A57 and the NEX. They made me a fan of Sony. So, I want to use this topic to also say thank you to the developers of Sony.

    Hello Angel!

Read the following steps carefully and let us know if you have any other questions.

  • Should I clean the sensor before mounting the new lens?

Hello guys! Sorry for stupid question, but I'm not sure I know the correct answer. One of the devices that I use is Canon 5 d classic, and there a lot of dust on the sensor and the viewfinder (not unusual for 5di). I just got a new goal, and I wonder if there is a possibility for the dust on the sensor/viewfinder to get inside the lens while filming? Or I have to clean the viewfinder/sensor before mounting? Or just forget to dust as will evertually get inside the lens of dust? Thank you! I appreciate your answers!

    Good advice so far...

    1. you don't have to worry about the use of your lens on the camera. The goal is pretty well sealed against dust, so all the dust that's in the mirror in the camera box is unlikely to migrate into the lens (it is more likely to migrate on the sensor, but even what is low risk). There is no such thing as completely dust free a lens, anyway. A few grains of dust inside a lens have virtually no effect on the images.

    2. you probably should take advantage of your membership CPS to have the camera, cleaned and checked.

But you can also learn how to clean yourself. Some call it the classic 5 d a magnet 'dust '... Just, I think he's got a big sensor dust get on and does not have a self-cleaning feature because is on later models. It's going to get dusty again, you can bet. So at least you might want to get a blower bulb ("Rocket Blower" is a brand) and learn to use it.

You probably already know, seen in the viewfinder of the dust is usually harmless. It is usually on the mirror or on the focus screen and will not be displayed in the images taken with the camera (unless she manages to migrate on the sensor itself, which is hidden and protected behind the shutter with the exception of the brief moment when an image is rendered).

If the dust seen in the viewfinder appears sharp and in short, it is on the focus screen. If it is fuzzy and blurry, it's on the mirror. Unless you know how and have the right tools for the job, it is not a good idea to give the focus screen and nothing more aggressive than a breath of air from a blower bulb mirror. These can be cleaned more thoroughly, but both are very easily damaged: the screen is optical plastic and can be ruined by using the right type of gasoline on it. The mirror is before coating aluminium vaporized, so is very easily damaged. Aside from an occasional breath of air from a blower bulb, I recommend to leave the mirror screen and concentrate only until you have done a professional cleaning.

A more serious problem to monitor does not light seals. There are seals foam around the edge of the focus screen, which builds the mirror upward against when it is triggered, to keep stray light out of the box mirror during exposure. Over time, these seals foam begins to degrade and may throw particles or even coat of glue holding them in place on the mirror screen and focus. In general, clean up the damage, remove the old and install new foam gaskets are a little tricky, so I recommend that you have any replacement of the foam seal done by a professional. (Also, there are foam seals similar elsewhere inside the camera that are likely to need replacement too, if the joints in the mirror box go wrong. A pro will know what is needed and have the skills to work deeper inside the camera.)

Time does not always have to send a camera in for a simple cleaning of the sensor, so it's something that you can learn to do it yourself. There are two sites that discuss good detail: www.cleaningdigitalcameras.com and www.copperhillimages.com. The first is maintained by independent, professional camera repairmen who also are providers of the repair industry and sell most of the specialized tools and supplies needed for the cleaning of the sensor. The second part of the merchant site one of special cleaning procedures ("Copper Hill Method"). Both sites have good information. Read them carefully before performing any cleaning yourself.

If you decide to learn how to clean the sensor yourself, some things you need to know...

Never use a q-tip common (i.e., "Q-Tip") inside a camera. They throw cotton fibers that can enter and jam of delicate mechanisms.

Check the manufacturer's website you plan any liquid sensor cleaning aid is formulated and approved for your particular camera.

No matter what digital camera that has never had the sensor cleaned almost always need a "wet" cleaning first. This is because there is almost always oils on the sensor (actually in most of the cameras the surface to be cleaned is a filter which covers and protects the sensor). These oils are excess thrown out of the shutter mechanism. Any method of "dry cleaning" that touches the sensor will coat oils and make things worse. If a "wet cleaning" is always advocated, first time around.

It is important to have some the aircraft batteries fully charged before cleaning and work quickly, so that to be able to hold the mirror up and the door is open doesn't work low allowing the shutter to close and the mirror to fall on a tool used for cleaning. Professional cleaners often use a continuous supply instead of a battery, to be sure.

It is convenient to have a magnifying glass Magnifier and light any for easy cleaning. When you view the sensor at the front, don't forget that the image is upside down and reversed. Thus, for example, if you have seen a job in the corner upper lefhand of your images, when you view the sensor directly you will find straw incriminated in the lower right corner.

You usually have a variety of tools to do a multi-step cleaning...

"Fan bulb cleaning' to blow the free particle outside ("Rocket Blower").

"Wet cleaning" with approved optical and fluid swabs from cleaning to remove oils and the particles more strongly respected ('Copper Hill method kit', 'Pecs Pads", 'Pécs swabs', 'Eclipse' solution) of sensor cleaning.

'Adhesive cleaning' using a slightly sticky surface take off slightly adhered particles ('Dust Aid').

'Cleaning antistatic brush' stubborn Claire, remaining slightly adhered particles and to reduce static electricity that attracts dust ("Arctic Butterfly").

"Deleting individual speck" with a reusable precision tool ("Speck Grabber").

"Final Polish" always is a last step to remove the haze left by gasoline ("by LensPen sensor pen"). It also helps to discourage the dust sticks to the surface again.

I've included a few brand names of the products in parentheses as examples. There may be other equally effective products.

Most of the time I find myself with several or even all of these when I do a cleaning of the sensor.

    See you soon!

'Open the drawer out press ok' message with the tray open output and pressed OK. Seems that the device does not believe that the drawer is open. This has happened directly after deletion of a paper jam.

Sometimes a small part being out of alignment can make a sensor turn off inside the printer, so make sure you put everything back together right first.  Although you to act this way, looks at the printer closely for any broken pieces.  If you do not see what has obviously broken, try to do a hard reset.  Instructions that are below.  If the hard reset does not clear the error, the output bin sensor may be broken.  If this is the case, you will need to get a new printer, as the sensor is not repairable.

    To do a hard reset:
    1. make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. pull on the power cord from the printer.
    3. pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. wait for 30 seconds.
    5. plug in the printer and turn it on.

After installing iOS 10, when I opened my iPad original air cover (with magnet) I suddenly need to do something extra to access the unlock PIN code screen. I used to be able to enter my PIN to unlock immediately.

It's really annoying, that I almost never use the home button on my iPad, simply open the lid is allowed to enter the PIN to unlock and start to use the iPad. Now, I have to first press the home button, it means an additional gesture.

  • Cannot open the contacts on MacBook air

I can't open the contacts on MacBook air (OS X Yosemite 10.10.5)

    Any solution?

    Good afternoon maorts,.

I understand that you are not able to open the Contacts application on your MacBook Air running OS X Yosemite.   When this issue is produced?  Will there be any changes made to your computer?

The first thing I would say is to restart your computer.  This system reset is often all that is needed.   If the initial restart does not resolve the problem, try to start your computer in safe mode.

OS X Yosemite: start in safe mode

If the problem still persists, if you use iCloud, check that your contacts are at www.icloud.com.

Try to create a new user account.  Getting the Contacts app?  You can add a contact to it?  This will isolate the question to your user account or to a question of scale.

OS X Yosemite: set up users on your Mac.

If the problem turns out to be systemwide, then you should make a backup of your computer using Time Machine.

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac

Then you can reinstall OS X Yosemite or update your software if your MacBook Air is compatible.

    How to reinstall OS X

OS X can be installed on the same version or an earlier version of Mac OS X, without deleting your data. You don't need to remove or disable the existing system first.

    1. Start of OS X Recovery now command-r immediately after start-up or that you restart your Mac. Release the keys when you see the Apple logo. Start-up is finished when you see the OS X Utilities window.
    2. Choose to reinstall OS X OS X Utilities window, and then follow the instructions on the screen.
    3. This installs the latest version of Mac OS X, which has already been installed on your Mac.

maorts, please take a look at the resources offered here, try these initial troubleshooting steps and responds with the results in this regard.

    Take care.
