Re: using hp pavilion 15 and it says plugged in not charging battery
The testing and calibration of the battery link (http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00821536) is for Windows 7. Our PC has Windows 8.1. I tried on the advice of anyway, but it seems holding down the home button while restarting can no longer pull the PC in safe mode.
How about a reference for W8 and one for the W10?

Laptop didn't work when it's plugged in and the battery says "plugged in, not charging." Battery LED also flashes a few times from time to time, so I don't know if it's a circuit board problem or the battery itself.
I tried updated driver battery without success.
You can try to unplug the power and remove the battery. Press and hold power for 30 seconds, Plug and see if it is supported.

I recently had my Qosmio F55-Q502 repaired by Toshiba.
Two issues have been addressed, and one is fixed.
However, the second attempted to decide without success.
When I try to play multimedia games such as call of duty IV, even if the system is completely loaded, a few minutes the system will begin flashing the "Backlight" and then when I see the loading icon, he says: "plugged in, not charging.»
This really worries me because I read online many similar questions, but none of the solutions seem to work.
Having to reboot every time that happens and your in the middle of a game, really STINKS!
I even had what is happening with SimCity4 which is an old game.
Any suggestions on this good?
Did they replace the battery when it was sent to which seems to be what most needs to be done.
If your Qosmio laptop was being repaired, I think that you should not discuss any issue on the forums, but put a pressure on the service and specify every single problem with your laptop.
Please do because the warranty is still valid and it is now time to clarify everything.
I am not an expert in hardware, but it sounds to me like some electronic power supply question but I can't say for sure. Speak with the service. Try to clarify this with them. Be nice, be cool and all will be ok.
Yesterday, the light on the front of the computer which is usually blue, blinking orange light. When I click on the plug/battery icon I get the message, "plugged in, not charging." Do I need a new battery? My laptop is less than 2 years.
Rated capacity 47520 Full last Charge 36018
This report shows that the battery still has 75% of the initial charge capacity. This means that the battery probably not causing the problem with the projection of light load and plugged him, don't not supported message.
I would recommend that you knew down and unplug the phone. Remove the battery and make sure that there is no dirt or residue on the contacts of the battery or the contacts inside the battery compartment.
Reinsert the battery and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi Mr Ohm,

2. you remember to make changes to the computer, after which the issue started?
Take a look at the following link:

1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
2. What is the brand and model of the laptop?
3 - is the battery gets loaded when the laptop is shut down?
I suggest you to see the laptop manual to activate the option of battery charge. If you are using a Dell portable computer, then you can try the following steps.
a. Insert your Dell laptop battery in the battery compartment on the bottom of the computer case. The battery will snap into place.
b. connect your Dell laptop battery charger to a wall outlet.
c. Insert the opposite end of your Dell laptop battery charger in the entry on the side of the computer.
d. turn on your Dell computer and allow it to boot into the Windows operating system.
e. press the Fn key and the key on your keyboard that you must type to activate the refill on your Dell laptop model. For example, on a Dell Inspiron 1525 you must press the Fn and F2 keys to activate the recharge, while on a Mini 9, you need to press Fn and 3 keys. This will change depending on what model of Dell you have, look for the key that has a picture of a laptop battery. It is the key that you press. Battery charging is now enabled.

In general, I keep my laptop plugged into current alternative, whenever I use it and transport mode 'sleep' with the lid closed whenever I'm the take on a trip. The laptop is 4 years old and the battery is not required to load as it used to, so it's going to go from 100% to 50% when it is dormant for a stay of 6 hours. I just moved into a new State and left in mode 'sleep' in my laptop for more than 24 hours bag, which (arguably) took the battery up to 0%. Now that I'm unpacking and save and running, the indicator in the tray system constantly readings "plugged in, not charging" with 8% of battery (but it was 9% yesterday). However, the laptop turns off immediately every time that I unplug it from the power sector, even with the lid closed mode 'sleep'. I tried several different outlets and a spare cable load but can not get the battery to start charging. I know that the battery is old and will need to be replaced, but I suspect it might also be a software failure or sensor because the battery while he was in mode 'sleep' perhaps? I tried a few other troubleshooting steps online (clean the contacts of the battery and reinstalling it, update drivers to the battery, remove the battery from the Device Manager and reboot) but nothing has fixed. The laptop still works well on alternating current with the battery removed. Any ideas to try before giving a shot a spare battery?
Thank you for joining the Forums of HP Support and welcome @jwenskovitch,
I read your post and I understand that you lose the battery while the laptop is in Sleep Mode. You said that your battery can't hold a charge.
Please make sure that there is nothing external, connected to the laptop (other than the AC adapter).
Computer battery life varies, depending on the power management settings, programs running on the computer, the brightness of the screen, the external devices connected to the computer, and other factors. To learn more about how to improve the performance of the battery, please follow the document provided in the hyperlink.
You have whatever it is connected to the laptop?
Have you tried to put the laptop on a power saving mode?
If your laptop battery does not hold a Charge, you can try to troubleshoot the battery to see if it needs to be replaced. Sometimes the battery may need to be re calibrated. There is a document called test and calibrate the battery. You can use the steps in this document to the status of the battery you have and see if there are any suggestions.
To the HP Support Assistant's help is ideal because you can use also HP battery check tool.
Here's the documentation of sleep and hibernation problems . It can help you find why your battery drains in Sleep Mode.

I typed in the product key, but he says that's not the right number. I checked it several times. It's a HP Windows Vista Home Premium.
As HP shipped computers with Windows preinstalled, it is likely that you are using the incorrect product key. The Windows product key is usually in a label in the computer chassis, while the office is usually available to a box or envelope.
