Re: Which module of memory is good for Satellite P30 145

Hello.
I need a little help to decide which module of memory I need to upgrade my P30-145. IV ' e two seen on the Toshiba web site which I think I can use. We're the PA3313U - 2M1G PC2700 DDR SODIMM (333 MHz) and I saw this one mentioned and recommended elsewhere on this forum. The other is PA3411S - 2M1G PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz)
The processor is an Intel Pentium 4 with a clock speed of 3.2 GHz and a 533 MHz front side bus speed.
Anyboy can advise

Thank you

Hello

for your CPU, you need the PA3313U - 2M1G PC2700 DDR SODIMM (333 MHz) since the PA3411S - 2M1G PC2 - 4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) is not compatible for your machine.

PA3411S-2M1G PC2-4300 DDR2 (533 MHz) is for newer machines with Core2Duo and the more recent Pentium M, but not for the Pentium 4.

If you buy some RAM just ensure that you purchase RAM DDR1 PC3200 or PC2700. That's all.

    Where I can buy it?

    Thank you

I think that the best way to find modules like PA3313S-1M1G is to google after them.

PA3313S-1M1G just type in google and you will find many shops online that will provide you with the necessary things. You can also search an other brands that are known to work correctly with as Kingston KTT or OZC Toshiba laptops.

  • Question about upgrading BIOS for Satellite P30 145

    Hi all, first post!

I have just received notification that there is an update of the BIOS for my laptop, Satellite P30-145, I downloaded and tried to install it but I get this message "the size of the rom file is incorrect" ideas?

    Hello

Seems Toshiba has released and document technical support for this newsletter.
I found this useful statement from Toshiba:

I can't update my BIOS with the function BIOS Phoenix-file ZIP Windows XP Windows.
I always get an error message: the size of the ROM file is incorrect.

    http://support.toshiba-tro.de/KB0/TSB59014X0000R01.htm

    I hope it helps.

But note; The update of the BIOS is always risky! If you have any problems with your laptop you n don't need to update the BIOS.
The bad BIOS or bad BIOS update procedure may damage the cell Board!
So take my advice and never change a running system ;)

  • What is a compatible DVD player for Satellite P30 145

    Hello

My DVD player packed. We know what readers out there are compatible with this laptop. I am currently looking for a NEC ND-6750.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Did you look in the user manual?

In my manual that was preinstalled on your laptop, I found a list of compatible drives.

I think the similar list with disks taken in charge and compatible, you will find in your manual document.

Otherwise, you could ask the guy to service Toshiba for the compatible device.
You know, it is important that you purchase a supported player with the settings of the master/slave/c-salt because it of not possible to change these settings later.

  • Upgrade memory 667 Mhz for Satellite U300

    Hello

I have a new Satellite u300-11v and I was hoping to upgrade the memory standard modules of current 2 x 1 GB 2 x 2 GB ddr800 for a max speed of memory. However, after looking at intels site for specifications of the chipset for my machine (its got an intel mobile GM965 chipset) it seems that it will only support up to 667 mhz RAM modules.

Reading a little further, I think that if I have a memory at 667 mhz bus it can only be reached through the module 1 x 2 GB at 667 mhz. Currently I put 2 x 2 GB 667 modules in the machine, the default memory bus at 533 mhz.
I watched chipset specs of your laptop (945GM) while I was on the site intels and your in the same boat as me.

Heres so the dilemma: you have just 1 x 2 GB 667 MHz memory to get this speed little extra memory or go for 2 x 2 GB to the slowest to 533 mhz to accommodate all these massive windows page file.

For me, have family Vista premium running on a machine that can bring together only a bus 533 mhz memory with 4 GB of ram is not acceptable while I will now go back to XP pro which is not so heavy on resources.

Did you really notice the difference between the memory 533 MHz bus and memory 667 MHz modules?

Of course, there is a small difference in performance, but you will never get a performance gain by using the modules of 667 MHz instead of 553 Mhz modules.

  • What is good for Satellite L300 recovery CD?

I recently bought "Toshiba Satellite L300" which had the Windows 7 operating system, but the recovery CD was Windows XP.
And my hard drive was the only partition and Microsoft office was not working on this laptop and I used this CD to solve these problems.

But I lost my previous Windows 7.

Now, it's Windows Xp SP 3 on my computer.
But I'm not satisfied with the XP Windows 7 fault.

How can I get it again for free?

Please let me know what is good for "Toshiba Satellite L300" recovery CD. ?

    > I recently bought "Toshiba Satellite L300" which had the Windows 7 operating system but the recovery CD was Windows XP.

Hmm, that's strange, I don't have any idea of what Satellite L300 is, but generally a L300 series has been pre-installed with Vista Home Premium

So I m wondering why Win 7 came preinstalled and why you get the Win XP Recovery disk

Usually the L300 should be equipped with a HARD drive recovery partition containing the image of Toshiba.
It should be able to recover the notebook using the recovery of HARD drive and this should help you to reinstall the Vista operating system.

In my opinion that you should talk with your dealer maybe that the laptop was a replacement unit?
    Who knows

  • Driver memory PCI Flash for Satellite M60 - 167

I just reinstalled Win XP Professional (a new, because the version of recovery has been only XP Home), and after that, I have a problem with the PCI FLASH memory driver, the hardware Manager to show me that I need this driver? Drivers for SD memory cards have already installed, but the problem is still there. I need memory PCI Flash driver for Satellite M60 - 167 model No.: PSM60E-0C801GGR

    Hello

Generally, tools and Utilities CD should be delivered with your laptop.
On this CD you will find all the required drivers for Windows XP. You can use the same drivers WinXP Pro.
If you install the drivers if you do it in the right order.
Installing the chipset utility is very important. This must be done first.
In addition, you must pilot your controller CardBus PCMCIA cardbus.
    Check it out.

  • Satellite P30-145: where to find the Radeon 9700 Mobility for Vista drivers

Does anyone at - he had a success get drivers ATI Radeon Mobility 9700 to arrive correctly on a P30-145 on the RTM of Vista version? Currently, everything seems to be detected ok but I get an error in saying Device Manager: "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) "Googling didn't turn out much more than a certain number of people see this same error and it could be necessary an update of the BIOS, or the problem may be in the area of drivers ACPI?

Outside the upcoming graphics card not properly the only other comment I have is that system standby support doesn't seem to appear and that the cooling fan is continuously on, both of which I'm sure that can be fixed with a Toshiba release.

All had experiences with Vista and Satellite P30?

    Hello

I have no Satellite P30, but it will be interesting to see what kind of support Toshiba will arrange for older models of laptops and where will be the last limitation (how the old units will be supported).

AFAIK P30 is about two years old and we will see if the units in the year 2005 will be Vista supported. Official start is January 2007. Before that I n t believe you will get official info. I just hope that my Satellite Pro M70 will be supported.

    In any case good luck!

  • Equium M50-235: which module of memory should I use?

Impossible to find a solution as module type, that I need to upgrade the amount of memory. PC world who provided the laptop say their 512 MB PC2100 DDR DIMM will do the job.
What is the best compatible module for M50-235 series laptop?

PS: It is a model not announced as current and abandoned on the Toshiba Web site, so I guess it's a special that they threw their spare bits to do something unique for PC World.

    Hello

The unit has 2 slots for memory and you can upgrade the memory for max 2048 MB
Toshiba recommend using these modules DDR - RAM:
    PC2700 256 MB (PA3311U - 2M 25)
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 2M 51)

    Hello

As far as I know, that you can use but I think it makes sense. Is the bus speed of 333 MHz and these modules should go down with the speed of the bus running. It is always recommended to use the appropriate modules to avoid any damage.

  • Where to find bars of memory 2 GB for Satellite Pro A100

According to the Toshiba site, the A100 has 2 memory slots for up to 2 GB per slot, but I can only find 1 GB max cards. Anyone know where I can find 2 GB cards?

With the card, you mean the memory modules?

You Satellite Pro A100 must be a unit of PSAACE-xxxx series because AFAIK other A100 Pro supports only 2 GB of memory.

In any case, someone posted a useful link to the site to upgrade memory. I found this:
    http://www.orcalogic.co.UK/ASP/ProdType.asp?ProdType=26257&ft=m&St=3

I chose the ProA100-828 because I put t know what exactly your unit.
However, there is a 2 GB module shown.

By the way: 200 pin DDR2-533 SODIMM modules are compatible!

  • Good for Satellite M40 DVD DVD player model

Can someone tell me what model of drive of DVD the Satellite M40 (PSM40A) was supposed to come with?
According to Windows (XP Pro), mine was initially a carpet * a UJ831S, the version of firmware 1.00. Due to problems with this drive, it was replaced under warranty by Toshiba.

According to the label, the new disc is a carpet * a UJ840, with annotation HW 1.10 FW 1.40, which I assume the hardware and firmware versions respectively. Problem is that this drive is reports still on Windows as a UJ831S, a firmware version 1.40 now.

I am sure that Toshiba write their own firmware for these drives and so have control over what is reported for Windows. I suspect that this model of M40 should never take a UJ840 and so it's to be deliberately badly reported to Windows as a UJ831S. I never saw the label on the original disc and have therefore no ideae if it was actually a UJ831S.

The reason why I'm curious is that I always have problems playing some audio CD original with this player and think that it could be a problem of hardware compatibility. It is certainly not a question of protection of the CD, and the CD set fine on other laptops I tried them, with the exception of Toshibas with Mat * one or recorders of DVD Teac.
Toshiba say that nothing can do more.

I must point out that this laptop was purchased in New Zealand and can be specific to the Australasian market. I write here because the New Zealand from Toshiba web site (actually ends up on the Austraian site) does not appear to have a forum.

    Thank you
    Malc

    Hello

I studied a bit in the internet on the disc that came with this unit but I can't find useful information about the name of the drive and which drive was delivered with this device, but I guess it was a UJ831S.
However, I suggest that the new drive is UJ840, but the Windows operating system recognizes this disk as a UJ831S because of the firmware.

I found this topic on the identification of bad player:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=10034&start=15

In this case, the drive was out of life, and he was replaced by another having the same properties.
I think that he is even on your laptop.

    Hello

You must use the Toshiba recommended memory modules but the Kingston works correctly on your laptop.
Please check this information memory upgrade site:
