Re: Windows XP and Satellite T110-11J

Hello

on a Toshiba Satellite T110-11J computer, I want to install Microsoft Windows XP. I wonder if the drivers installed on this site Web is for 32-bit or 64-bit system.

Thank you for your answer

As far as I know Toshiba hasn t supported Windows XP Home 64 bit edition. 32-bit version only.

    Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my laptop, a C855D-135 satellite.

I made a mistake during a recovery, and I did not any left recovery (no recovery partition to the left, no option to use the recovery in Start menu - F12 when starting computer).

I read that the windows Key is in the BIOS and I tried to get the key to returning, and I got a key with a tool on the internet.

I tried to install a different version of windows 8, but I was not able to activate windows after installation:

I heard a windows version 8 which is supposed to activate automatically at first use, look for the key directly in the BIOS. What version is it and where can I find?

    I tried:

A version of the RTM of windows 8, but I could not activate it (error 0xC004C032) and windows is defined as 'enterprise evaluation.

A 'classic' Windows version 8 and I have used the key that I founded before the install without any problem, but activation does not work because of the key.

What could I do to install my laptop?

    Should which version I install?

(I don't want to BUY the DVD of recovery, and I think it's a shame to sell DVDs of recovery...)

If someone could help me, it could be great!

    Thanks for reading me :)

    > I don't want to BUY the DVD of recovery, and I think it's a shame to sell DVDs of recovery
To be honest I don t understand why do you on this path. Pre-installed OS is packaged on laptop and you buy it in the package. At the same time in the price valid license for usage is also included.
You can install image recovery 1000 times and each time it will be activated if the best option for you is the use of the recovery image, especially because the installation and usage is user friendly and easy to install.

Because of all this I highly recommend restore disk original order. It costs a little, but you will have BONES, all necessary drivers, Toshiba tools and utilities and also some additional software, all in one package.

If you don't want to do all that you can do is to install own OS version and buy a new license for this.

    Someone knows how to do...

    Hello

Don t use all websites 3rd party SATA driver download.
Either you need to download the European of Toshiba on-site or on the Intel site Intel Matrix Storage Manager directly.

On the Toshiba page, you will find the Intel storage Manger under

This package contains the INF files

    Hello

This error message can occur if a hardware component malfunctions, or if it has installed the damaged or incompatible drivers.
To resolve this issue remove additional memory modules that are installed on the computer, leaving only the minimum required for the computer to start and run Windows. Restart the computer to see if the error messages persist.

This issue has been described on the Microsoft Web site.

  • Windows XP and Satellite M40X - programs are broken

Hi, I recently bought the Germany satellite m40x. Windows was in German so after coming back to India, I tried to install the version of the University a license of Windows XP on it.

I tried several versions of windows with or without service pack, but the problem that remains with many applications like Yahoo! Messenger 7 and Nero Start Smart and the age of empires and many others... the programs crash. I am not able to understand the reason behind this. With the Windows German, all the programs worked.

After installation, the program works, but after the computer restarts, it starts in error. Some older messenger versions work, but no version of nero does not work.

    Hello

In my opinion, you can find on the internet.
-Acrobat reader can be downloaded from the internet.
-DLA and recording is now installed on the original image.
Java runtime environment 2 - Dim V1.5.0 you can also find on the net and install separately

I hope that in Device Manager all hardware components are installed correctly.
What you mean with the same error? Can you be more clear about this?

  • Drivers for Windows Vista and Satellite M60

I´d would like to know when Toshiba will release drivers for this type of laptop for sure Vista premium computer laptop.

We have been waiting 1 month and a half, why users like me of this laptop are declassified on this way?

    Hello Tomas

You should know that there is no producer of laptop that will support all models of laptops for the Vista operating system. The same situation is with models of Toshiba laptops. Each laptop producer must create dead line. I assume that this deadline may be portable production data or maybe hardware configuration because Microsoft gave some hardware requirements for the installation of Vista.

It seems stupid, but Microsoft has obviously quite a lot of influence on all of this. In any case, on the latest portable WXP, you will see sticker to Vista. This means that devices with this sticker that can be preinstalled Vista (home to the less basic edition). For these models, you can expect a Vista support but for your older Satellite M60 chances are not so good because this laptop has probably no Vista capable sticker. My M70 also comes without this sticker.

I'm sure that you can install Vista on your device. I recommend you create the second partition on your HARD drive and install Vista to test the feature. I'm sure it will be successful. I tested it on my Satellite M70 too and it works well but I am certainly not so happy with it and will use WXP Pro as before.

    Bye and good luck!

  • Windows 2003 and Satellite M45-S335

    Hello
I bought a toshiba a few months ago, I want to know if windows 2003 is now supported on this subject? I once installed, but I had a problem of drivers, the improvements are there in this?

    Thank you very much
    Bilal.

    Hello Bilal

As much as I know XP units don't are not supported to W2003. For W2000 maybe but I have heard that with W2003 is not so easy to configure the device perfectly. Try to find out material manufacturers have some drivers on its support page.

  • Windows 10 - FN button and touchpad lock/unlock button problem Satellite L675-11J

    Hello
I have a Toshiba Satellite L675-11J and 10, lock/unlock FN key touchpad button do not work after upgrading to windows.
    Help, please!
    Best regards

Fn keys require special Toshiba software that controls this feature for laptop.

But Windows 10 drivers are not published for this series of Satellite L675 because is not win 10 supported.

From my point of few, this means you can use Notepad as part of Win 10 but without the keys FN function.

  • Satellite T110-11U: WLan connection dropped and very slow performance

    Hi people,

I use a Satellite T110-11U running windows 7 Home premium.

After having initially was very satisfied with its use, it now becomes more and more frustrating to use with wifi, with connections dropped and very slow performance.

I have updated the BIOS and think I have updated all drivers wirelss, but could be the problem. It seems that wireless, software of management is at fault because the networks are detected, but not clinging.

Any suggestion or tips to try will help save my sanity!

    Thanks for your help.

    John

    > have updated the BIOS and think I have updated all drivers wirelss, but could be the problem.
If you need to make sure that you use the latest WLan driver.
The driver can be downloaded here:
    http://APS2.toshiba-tro.de/WLAN/

The laptop uses the Realtek RTL8191SE of WLan card.
Please also reset the settings of the Wlan router. I had a lot of problems with my WLan and after the reset of the router, performance problems disappeared.

  • Satellite A110-180 - update of the Bios for Windows 7 and Linux

    Hello

I want to change the following settings in my bios on my laptop satellite A110-180
    * AHCI for SATA
    Disable the IDE

    But none of these options.
So I thought that maybe I should update my bios.
I found the download page, but there are 2 options: Windows Vista or NO vista, but I want to dual boot windows 7 and linux.

Which one should I download, or is there another option to change the settings?

    Thank you!
    Bart

    Hello

Satellite A110 does not support these options (SATA AHCI).
The update of the BIOS will not help you!

Linux is not supported and therefore, you will not find any special BIOS for Linux OS!

The two BIOS updates are for Win Vista or OS independent.
Therefore, if you use other than Vista OS then you should throw the update of the independent BIOS to the BONE!

But as mentioned above; both options will not appear after the BIOS update!

  • Satellite T110-121 - Question about disk and hard drive recovery

    Hello

I started to use my nice new Satellite T110-12. How can I create a recovery disc?

Why is there that a common message on the vibration has been detected, HDD head has been moved to a safe position? Is there something wrong? I would return it before the week is up?

Please answer, thanks a lot a lot!

    Hi LindaMon,

    > How to create a recovery disk?
What about reading your user manual?
You need a 8 GB USB key for the creation of a support recovery and preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.

    > head drive has been moved to a safe position?
Yes, that's normal and everything is ok with your laptop. Your HARD drive will be protected by HDD/SSD Alert utility which is a nice feature of Toshiba to avoid accidents of the head and can improve the lives of the internal HARD disk.
But yoou can disable these notifications if you want. ;)

  • Satellite T110-13R - convert Windows 7 64-bit in Windows XP

    Hello

Anyone with experience to convert (or wipe the HARD drive completely) this computer in a Windows XP version that is well known and controlled?

    Thanks for your replies.

    Hi Xplover,

Yes, it is possible to install Windows XP instead of Windows 7. I checked Toshiba driver download page, and according to the various drivers support Windows 7 and Windows XP. You can get all the drivers for the two versions of Windows

But before you install XP, you must create the drive of Toshiba recovery if she s does not. This disc contains a picture of the factory settings and can restore preinstalled Windows version each time. It s a disk bootable, and easy to use.
Simply start preinstalled Toshiba recovery disc creator and create the startup disk or a USB key.

After that, you can start with the Windows XP installation. You install XP with Service Pack 2 at least, but I'd recommend final SP3 because it contains updates of security important, etc. Then, you can start with the installation of the driver.

It is perhaps useful, so here's my XP on s T110 installation command:

  • Satellite U500 - problem with Windows 7 and HSDPA USB modem

    Hello
My wife recently purchased a Toshiba Satellite U500, that came pre-installed with Windows 7 64-bit.

A few days later, I bought a modem high-speed HSDPA USB by Alcatel. The problem started immediately that we plugged the modem, that drivers would not install.
Then I went to the Web of Alcatel site and found the drivers for windows 7 for her. But then we hit another road block since now the drivers are installed and it does not detect the modem, but whenever we try to connect to the internet, screen flickers at the connection for a moment and then disconnects again.

I found cela a lil strange so I tried to connect using my own pc which has a 32-bit Windows 7 and it works fine there.
It is the same for a machine that still had Windows XP. Makes me think its something to do with 64-bit Windows 7 itself. Could someone help please?

    Thank you and best regards.

I don't think that someone here can help you with this problem. You will be very happy if someone on this forum has exactly the same model of laptop including same USB modem.

In my opinion, you have two options: either you can clarify this point with the support of Alcatel (they have enough experience with own products) or with people from the nearest Toshiba service provider service.

Have you tried to test the features with the Win7 32-bit version?
