Reading a .bkf file

My hard drive crashed. I had a shop in a new drive and they recovered nearly all the files and photos. But it seems that the only data retrieved were what was registered in the files of Windows. Nothing has come from other programs.

The repair shop to load Windows XP on the drive. I guess that if they had all my loaded software (photo, GPS, office etc.) maybe they would have had a place to retrieve and store that I'm now missing. In any case, I have an old backup (Iomega eGo USB) a year ago - I would be more vigilant - and I would like to read this file .bkt and copy my other photos, GPS files and my Outlook .pst file.

How to do this. When I click on the .bkf he wants to launch a backup recovery and I don't want to destroy everything that happened last year and the store could save, just to get some files off the Iomega drive.

Hello

You cannot restore files come from the .bfk file. The only way is to restore all the data.

  • Reading of .bkf files on xp pro with windows vista or windows 7.

It comes to clarify my previous post. How can I open the files in .bkf created with xp pro backup tool with my windows vista machine? I have similar problems with windows 7 to use these saved files with my new computer?

Here is a free software that opens and retrieves the BKF files (and repairs corrupt files): .  Once loaded, you'll be able to read BKF files using the program (and repair those that are corrupt).  This program is compatible with Vista (according to information posted on the site).  If it installs like normal programs, it creates an association between itself and the BKF files so you won't have to go through the process every time that you want to open/recover a BKF file (if it doesn't, go to Start/Default / programs / associate a file or Protocol with a program / and find the BKF files and changing the association to the program (if it isn't already there).)  You may need to search for the executable file of the program manually make the association (but I doubt it).

Here is another option that may better suit your needs (I'm not sure what you have in mind): .  The same notes on file associations apply to this program (although I would not install both of them at the same time to avoid a situation of conflict of associations - although the more likely scenario is that the last installed program will be the one with the association).

I don't know how these files (or others) will work with Windows7 - please post this question in the Forums Windows7: http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/windows7 where people who specialize in issues of Windows7 will be more than happy to help you with your question.

    I hope this helps.

    Have you tried?

I know that Vista has replaced NTBackup with Windows Backup and Restore Center, who did not read *.bkf files in Windows XP, and there was an outcry until Microsoft made the available restore NTBackup utility.

I have several cd with backup files, but I can't access either one of them.

    Hello

Are you able to browse the disc and see the files after you insert the disc in the drive?

    (a) Insert the CD in the computer.

    (b) double click on computer and select the CD/DVD drive.

If you are able to see the files, you can copy and paste the files.

If you can't see the files, then there is no other options left to fix the problem.

In case of failure the backup to the top folder may be corrupted, do third party software to retrieve.

    Note:

  • read several off file lvm 2D arrays

    Hello

for the acquisition of my data, I join three tables 1 d in a 2D array. I then record several of these paintings in a file of lvm 2D, until she is larger than 500 KB. Here, I got her 'write to measure' express VI. When I'm reading the data, I have a problem:

"the measure file read" express vi, seems to give only the first 2D table, which is located in the file! Each 2D table contains 75 values for each channel. I checked the content by drag / drop the file in Excel and Notepad. I see then all the tables, I saved in the file and not just the first. I tried to adjust the parameters in the "read the measurement file" VI as well, but nothing seems to help.

I have attached a sample file of lvm and my VI of reading.

It would be nice if someone could help it

    Simon

    Hello

I don't really know which way you want to read the data.

Do the different 2D picture belong together, which means that table 2 is just a continuation of the first?
If this is the case, you can select 'Segment Headers' > 'No headers' in VI 'Write to file measure. "

Then, select "File as read": read generic text file and adjust settings accordingly.

Use the function 'Now read file' to test the settings.

In addition, you may need to modify the indexes for the table to Index in your VI.

However, this method has the obvious drawback of losing the header information.

Alternatively, you can save the data in a PDM file, instead of a file of lvm. Here the headers are treated better.

Select 'Header only' in the writing to the file of the measurement. When your then read the data, it will automatically read all the data.
And you keep at least the first header information.

If each 2D table should be read separately, you must use a different approach. Please let me know, if this is the case and that I will explain later.

  • Detection of folklore in "reading a spreadsheet file.

    Hi people,

I need help in the detection of expressions of folklore in a "reading a spreadsheet file. I'd like to stop a while loop by plugging the expressions of folklore? the stop condition indicator, but it does not work. For resons design that I can't replace everything in a loop with a for loop and I don't need the while loop. I read something about creating custom detection of expressions of folklore, but I wonder why the builtin work in vi doesn't work and if it is not a simple solution.

  • Not able to read the text file several times - Bug?

I open the Refnum to a text file by starting my software and I'll keep the file open until the software works. I read a text file when an event occurs. The problem that I'm facing here is when I read that the file 1st time Lily can't read the text of the file but when I read it to get even empty string only. Could someone help me understand why this happens.

A race condition?  What's with the two readings at the same time?  Keep the opened file is not a problem, but remember that there is a file pointer.  If you read empty strings, it's probably because you're at the end of the file.  Use Set leader VI to set Position is for the beginning of the file.
