READYNAS using Readycloud Desktop App - incremental backup?
Hi guys,.
Have been using my ReadNAS for some time and it is great, just recently tried the application backup on ReadyCloud and the conclusion that it is always indexing or download.
Just test it with a single file that contains the data of 6 GB. I wish a backup where only files updated the incremental was saved but it seems index of all of the directory and then download the entire dam every time thing!
Am I missing something here?
I use Windows Desktop App 10.
If the ReadyCloud desktop application can't make incremental backups, to suggestions for an alternative?
Thank you.
Of course, just used Windows file historical, not good for off site however as a NAS device is in the same office, it is fine for now.
See you soon

Hi all
Is it possible to use the ReadyCloud Desktop Client to synchronize a directory between two computers, i.e. of office and computer laptop?
I use OS 6.4.2 and the latest version of the Desktop Client at ReadyCloud.
In addition, both computers are running Windows 10 Pro.
Thanks in advance
Kevin
Hello knocwans,
Sorry, but ReadyCloud app is designed to allow you to synchronize folders computer device ReadyNAS and not from computer to computer. There is no option on the client where you select as the source computer and another computer as the destination.

How can I open a windows app use parallels desktop 11 as before?
Hello.
I used to use Parallels desktop when it's version was 4... I use it for a long time until today, I had to update it and install it again for a windows application...
Previously, parallels has given you a choice, allowing you to choose whether you want windows applications open as they are native applications mac, or if you want any operating system windows on your mac as having the bar of windows taskbar and other things...
but now that I installed it I can't get windows apps to run as they are applications native mac and run only and only this app, not all windows OS as a window...
What should I do?
Parallels Desktop 11
PS: I know it's a bit out of place here, but don't know where otherwise the question and it's urgent
When you have used Parallels desktop version 4, remember inside Windows installation until you can run Windows programs? You did, and except if you have saved the Machines virtual Parallels created, you have to start over. However, viewing this document Parallels that explains where Parallels VMS files (Note: by default, all virtual machines are stored in
/Documents/Parallels
or in/Users/Shared/Parallels
files). See if you still have on your machine and, if so, try opening and updating the virtual machine file to work with Version 11. -
How can I play the songs that are in the format of .wma on my PC using my Desktop 4.0.9.17 Windows XP iTunes app?
Thank you
RSHello Ristrawn,
Thank you for your message. There is no way to play .wma in the iTunes player. You will need to find a 3rd party software to convert .wma to .mp3 files. From there, you would be able to listen to the MP3 in the iTunes player. Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.See you soonEngineer Jason Microsoft Support answers visit our Microsoft answers feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Lost my beloved 8330 with tons of data into it, but I have an old backup to a month using Blackberry Desktop Manager V 4.3.0.17.
Verizon wanted to know if I wanted to Android. No, I'm staying with Blackberry, so I got a new Blackberry Bold 9650.
BUT... big but Blackberry Desktop Manager seems to have no way to allow me to put this old backup of data in the new 9650.
How is that possible?
Hello
You should probably switch to a later version of the Desktop software. You can then use this KB:
- KB23680 How to back up and restore data from BlackBerry using BlackBerry Desktop Software 6.0 smartphone
If something does not work, please be specific.
Good luck and let us know!

Take screenshots when you use Remote Desktop Store app
How this is done?
This is because the Remote Desktop app captures the key windows as a Windows key on the remote computer. Therefore impossible to use the Windows key the Surface to take screenshots at the Remote Desktop application.
As a work-around, what I do is put another app on the side of my application of RD and then clicking on in the application, so this is the active application. Now, when you press the Windows key and the low volume button, it will take a screenshot of the entire screen which will include both the remote screen. Then you can crop the App on the side if you wish.
It is a workaround, but at least it allows you to take a screenshot. Just be sure to resize your remote desktop screen when multitasking and no multitasking so that you get the maximum image.
Another option is to shoot to the top of the keyboard to the screen (in all Apps > accessibility of Windows), you can then move the keyboard of the road so that it takes as little as possible of the screen and still allow you to push the print screen on it button. Once it is low, you can paste the image that has been save to your Clipboard as you would when you take a screenshot in Windows.

Roll forward standby with RMAN incremental backup when used DG broker
Hello
I'm about to use the process defined in the note: steps to roll forward a database ensures the RMAN incremental backup using during primaries and Eve are in the file [836986.1 ID] ASM system. I'm on 11.1.0.7.
However, it does not mention the DataGuard broker.
Did someone played this process when you use the broker.
The broker he manages properly?
Does it matter if the broker is upwards or downwards during the physical recovery of standby or replacement of control file?
Should the broker configuration be re-created?
Thank you.user11993454 wrote:

Switching devices blackBerry Smartphones using the Desktop Manager
I just got my Torch 9800 replacement since my first only the battery was drainning (apparently a common problem).
Until I returned my old Torch 9800 I backed up and also used the device switch option in Desktop Manager. When it asked me to connect the new device, I unplugged the old camera, he took to the shop orange and then plugged my new camera.
Then an error has occurred and asked me to update the software on the new device. I did it... and then when I use switching devices, it asks me to connect the current device but the problem is... I don't have the camera more.
As I backed up all the data, I did a restore. He restored most of the data, but it has not restored my apps.
Any idea on how I can do?
I hope it is interesting all that.... and I get a better battery life this time!
Hi and welcome to the Forums!
Ah... never mind. While the device switch Wizard can indeed move a few apps, the backup/restore process does not have applications. So, in the State you are in, you must go to the source of your applications and re - get them. If you by AppWorld, the process is very smooth:
- KB17625 How to install or transfer has already purchased apps from BlackBerry App World for BlackBerry smartphone
If you have from other sources, then you should see if these sources are a simple way for you. I hope you have good record of all your activation keys... and some will indeed have to be regenerated some developers to attach the key on the BB SPINDLE, which is now different since you have a new device.
Good luck!

Hello
I'm nologging operations + deleting some files in the primary and you want to roll forward the day before using the incremental backup Yvert.
I do in particular, as the files are dropped?
I got to meet ( Doc ID 1531031.1 ) which explains how to roll forward when a data file is added.
If I follow the same steps, to make the move to restore the data file newly added, will it work in my case?
Can someone please clarify?
Thank you
San
I was wondering if reocover noredo is performed before restored controlfile, oracle will apply the incremental backup error-free files, and in this case, what would be the status of the data file in the control file.
Why do you consider to retrieve the day before first and then in the restaurant of the controlfile will lead to problems. Please read my first post on this thread - I had clearly mentioned that you would not face problems if you go with the method of deployment.
Here is a demo for you with force logging is disabled. For the first time the day before resuming and restored then the controlfile ensures:

Differential incremental backup for RAC
I inherited a CAR of two nodes (11r2 on RHEL 5.8 tikanga) with a shared network directory to be used as a backup location. He is the current backup strategy.
RMAN> show all; using target database control file instead of recovery catalog RMAN configuration parameters for database with db_unique_name TESTdb are: CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO REDUNDANCY 1; # default CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION OFF; # default CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP OFF; # default CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO '%F'; # default CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP TYPE TO BACKUPSET; # default CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED; # default CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION FOR DATABASE OFF; # default CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM 'AES128'; # default CONFIGURE COMPRESSION ALGORITHM 'BASIC' AS OF RELEASE 'DEFAULT' OPTIMIZE FOR LOAD TRUE; # default CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO NONE; # default CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/dbs/snapcf_testdb1.f'; # default
The above is for the node 1, node 2 is identical except for line 17 (he refers to the "_testdb2.f").
The backup script is below.
run { recovery copy of database with tag 'ORA_OEM_LVL0_TESTdb_PRIM' until time 'SYSDATE-7'; backup check logical incremental level 1 cumulative copies=1 for recover of copy with tag 'ORA_OEM_LVL0_TESTdb_PRIM' database; backup check logical archivelog all tag 'ORA_OEM_ARCH_TESTdb_PRIM'; } allocate channel for maintenance device disk type; crosscheck backupset; crosscheck archivelog all; delete noprompt obsolete device type disk;
I'm a relatively new DBA, but I think that the strategy above maybe even does not work like the "db_recovery_file_dest" SQLPLUS references + FRA (not the shared network directory) and the two places (both FRA directories) and shared network directory without large amounts of data in them. I think that the previous owners of this CAR may not had adequate support DBA.
In any case, I thought to change the configuration as such:
RMAN> show all; using target database control file instead of recovery catalog RMAN configuration parameters for database with db_unique_name TESTdb are: CONFIGURE RETENTION POLICY TO RECOVERY WINDOW OF 7 DAYS; CONFIGURE BACKUP OPTIMIZATION ON; CONFIGURE DEFAULT DEVICE TYPE TO DISK; # default CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP ON; CONFIGURE CONTROLFILE AUTOBACKUP FORMAT FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO '%F'; # default CONFIGURE CHANNEL DEVICE TYPE DISK FORMAT '/SharedNetworkDrive/ora_df%t_s%s_s%p'; CONFIGURE DEVICE TYPE DISK PARALLELISM 1 BACKUP TYPE TO BACKUPSET; # default CONFIGURE DATAFILE BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG BACKUP COPIES FOR DEVICE TYPE DISK TO 1; # default CONFIGURE MAXSETSIZE TO UNLIMITED; # default CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION FOR DATABASE OFF; # default CONFIGURE ENCRYPTION ALGORITHM 'AES128'; # default CONFIGURE COMPRESSION ALGORITHM 'HIGH' AS OF RELEASE 'DEFAULT' OPTIMIZE FOR LOAD TRUE; # default CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO BACKED UP 1 TIMES TO DISK; CONFIGURE SNAPSHOT CONTROLFILE NAME TO '/u01/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/dbhome_1/dbs/snapcf_testdb1.f'; # default
RUN { RECOVER COPY OF DATABASE WITH TAG 'incr_update' UNTIL TIME 'SYSDATE - 7'; BACKUP INCREMENTAL LEVEL 1 FOR RECOVER OF COPY WITH TAG 'incr_update' DATABASE PLUS ARCHIVELOG; DELETE ARCHIVELOG ALL; }
I don't know that miss me a few things in my backup strategy. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thank you
PS - Yes, we have a license for compression
Good point about ARCHIVELOG ALL DELETE. Your suggestion would be to replace it with DELETE NOPROMPT OBSOLETE? Do I need to perform a cross-checking beforehand or Oracle already know from the backup?
- CONFIGURE ARCHIVELOG DELETION POLICY TO SAVED 1 TIME TO THE DISK.
- INCREMENTAL BACKUP LEVEL 1 for BACK OF COPY WITH TAG "incr_update" DATABASE MORE ARCHIVELOG;
- DELETE ARCHIVELOG ALL;
As you have Setup CONFIGURE the STRATEGY of DELETING ARCHIVELOG RMAN will not delete archivelog until archivelog backup 1 time on the disc.
But HemantKChitale have a good point, if for some reason any person clearly that the configuration you'll probably ARCHIVELOG DELETE without backup, do your backup is inconsistent.
So is advised 'INCREMENTAL BACKUP of LEVEL 1 TO RETRIEVE COPY WITH TAG "incr_update" base of DATA PLUS ARCHIVELOG DELETE INPUT' or 'BACKUP ARCHIVELOG ALL DELETE INPUT';
You can avoid delete the archivelogs without backup, because RMAN will only remove saved ARCHIVELOGS.

RMAN incremental backup continue to make backups "complete"?
Hello, I am new to RMAN. I used only the full backup by RMAN, and it was OK. Now, due to lack of disk space, I decided to make incremental backups.
I put 'to recovey retention policy window of 3 days; then made a new backup (by MS) job, looks like:

But, always visible, size of the backup is the same all the time as a full backup? Where is my mistake?
