REALLY basic question about SG200 - 50 p

My question is: no matter what switch port I connect my router port to, or are all the ports on the switch 50 identical?

Background: I have a switch SG200 - 50 p in my house.  I struggled to find the cause of the slow who produce despite the consistent low ping times and speed of Web page loading tests. Page load speed is variable, making it harder for me to unravel, but stagnating always to some extent. However, when I bypass the Cisco switch and connect a computer directly to my router (a gateway uVerse), speeds seem to be very reliable. Then, when I move the cable (from the bridge) to an another Cisco switch ports (one of expansion ports) and then reconnected the computer switch, speeds are now equivalent, directly from the router and through the switch.

My conclusions are just a coincidence?

Thanks a lot for any idea.

Hello

Please try to hard code speed and duplex on switch connected to the router port, the latency would be due to collisions on this link.

Cordially. Aref.

  • A really basic question about fonts in InDesign

I'm new in the world of graphic design and teaching myself by trial and error and Lynda. One of my biggest problems in my project design is the selection of fonts. There are about 4 million, six hundred, two hundred twenty two thousand and seven policies .2 in the world and see that a 8 points of the just "Sample" version is not made for me.

I'm reluctant to apply each police to turn my text to see what it looks like. When searching the Web, fonts displayed in the glory of the point 20, require at least a download, if it's not a transaction by credit card as well. Am I missing some obvious sign that facilitates the selection of fonts Manager. Perhaps a preference secret which could consolidate at least of fonts by family instead of alphbetically?

Please help before go me blind. My eyes are starting to cross.

Thank you! in advance for your Help.

Oh Steve it is a better way to see the live type games, not black.

    Since InDesign Secrets.

Select the text frame with the direct Selection tool, by clicking in the character Panel. Use the arrow keys Ko, high-low, to see the change of type of live.

  • (Basic) question about layers

    Hi all!

I'm a little Photoshop-beginner and I have a question about layers, just as the title suggests. I have a bunch of PNG files which are the design of what happens in the UI (user interface) for an app Anyhow, I need to break down each graphic element in the files (for example, the logos, the "buttons", the small images) in different layers. How this is done more efficiently?

Any help would be much appreciated and I hope that I have explained the task well, but if you need additional information about the files or the task, I will be happy to provide that.

    Thanks in advance,
    EM

Use the Quick Selection tool to select each item and then press Ctrl + J (Cmd + J) that will create a separate layer. You can select with the rectangle selection rectangle if you want straight borders. Each item will have a transparent background which will allow you composite with other pictures or blank documents. Click on the symbol of the eyeball in the layers palette to the right to turn on and off and then you can view layers individually.

  • Basic questions about the port of Vsphere mirror

I set up a lightweight VM that would deal with inter-VM traffic. To do this, I want to activate the duplication of port between virtual machines.

I have ESXi 5.5 Update 1 installed, use the Vsphere (no webclient) client. I see no duplication of port capacity on my Vsphere Client

    vsphere_esxi5.5_sc1.png

I have some very basic questions:

    (1) all documentation I've read involving 'Port mirror' is done via web Vsphere client. Vsphere is provided with Vcenter (please, correct me if I'm wrong)

    (2) only functions with "Distributed Virtual Switch", not "switch vSphere Standard" port mirroring. How can I activate "Distributed Virtual Switch"? What products can I download/install and try (suppose I go to the user a license for 60 days)

    (3) exist what API to enable/disable/setup Port mirroring?

    (1) all documentation I've read involving 'Port mirror' is done via web Vsphere client. Vsphere is provided with Vcenter (please, correct me if I'm wrong)

Because the mirror of port requires a distributed switch, you will need to vCenter Server and once in vCenter Server, you can the vSphere Web Client of the user or the vSphere Client (c# version).

    (2) only functions with "Distributed Virtual Switch", not "switch vSphere Standard" port mirroring. How can I activate "Distributed Virtual Switch"? What products can I download/install and try (suppose I go to the user a license for 60 days)

You can download the server vCenter Server (60 day trial) and you'll have an Enterprise Plus version for your ESXi host vSphere.

    (3) exist what API to enable/disable/setup Port mirroring?

  • Basic question about the selection of the AP and multiple channels

I have about 10 PA (Aironet 1240 G) intended to be deployed one of my floors of office. We examined a diagram of the floor and made sure that we ordered enough to completely saturate the ground with wireless coverage. There are a few AP which are probably only 50' with each other. It's actually a bit exaggerated.

I put a base on the switch configuration so that there are two different SSID on the access point (one for a production of WLAN and the other for a WLAN comments). Each SSID is associated with a VLAN different.

I want to know is this what to do on the channels for the AP? Each access point will be independently configured and controlled.

I understand that there is a way to control which channels each AP uses, but I'm not familiar with the controls or best practices for the configuration of the AP

Can I do something like make sure that each access point uses a different channel than its nearest adjacent neighbors? Someone would mind sharing what is the command to do it, and where it is applied?

I have read through some archives and saw people talk to set "no bunk channels" and to configure them to use 1,6,11 channels. I guess I don't understand what is meant by there.

Manually define you an access point to channel 1, then set his neighbour to use 6 and another neighbor to use 11, and then you who stay?

What is the worst of the scenarios on what happens when you have no AP too close to the other located on the same channel?

It is a pleasure to read through the documentation if someone wouldn't mind pointing me to it. I'm still trying to understand the concept, and then I should be able to understand the documentation that came with the AP.

    Thank you for your help.

If your stand-alone Access Points. If it was a deployment of Comptrollership, in fact to dynamically manage the channels for you.

But what you really want to do, is you see APs do something like this:

(imagine each number represents an access point, and it channel)

    1 6 11 1

    6 11 1 6

    11 1 6 11

    1 6 11 1

It is a conceerne configuration guide. I think he has a small section on the channel assignment. If you do this manually, I think that you specify the actual frequency used in the CLI instead of the channel number.

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/12.4_3g_JA/configuration/guide/s43rf.html

So the CLI under the Dot11Radio0 you would do something like 'channel 2412' for channel 1... 2437 for 6, 2462

    for 11...

If you have APs side by side on the same channel, you are likely to have clients interfere between them.

  • Basic question about Flash CS5 Pro

I apologize for my question here but I couldn't find a Forum so basic Flash where my question would be held. I'm editing my AVCHD in CS5 movies and tried to add some animations with Flash. After two days of hard work, I managed to create a SWF file to a motion tween that I could add to PrPro: the SWF is a card on which a ship (vector) moves from one port to the other. (I managed to size, modify the movement, etc.). So far, is good. I am stuck at the next step: I would like to move the ship at the next port, after it remains to the present for a few seconds, but I can't handle this. I can add a timeline and a new motion tween, but the ship won't be exactly in the same place where she ended the previous trip. I don't know that there must be a simple solution. Also, I have a few questions (very primitive) that I have post in the appropriate Forum of Flash (if I find). Sorry for the long post and I'd appreciate any help. LACI.

Well, from http://forums.adobe.com/index.jspa I see 7 forums starting with Flash

  • Basic question about using Eclipse

IM using RH9 to create help for use with an Eclipse plug-in. I use the EclipseHelp Generator.jsx without any problem. The problem I have is probably very basic, but I have not found the answers up to now: I would like to include a hyperlink in one of my subjects to an Eclipse help topic that exists outside of my project. I thought that I simply copy the URL I see section target (found via the properties for the topic of the target):

    Eclipse help topic Properties URL.png

Of course, I was very naïve. I now understand that IP address is actually a loopback address, which is useless for the creation of a hypertext link.

My question is, how do I create a link? In other words, what address information can be used instead of the loopback address that will allow such a link to work?

Am I barking the wrong tree entirely? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    -lc

    Thanks again, Anjaneai.

After reviewing the situation, I realize now that it's a bad idea to try to link directly to other Eclipse plug-ins documents for a variety of reasons. Its a bad idea and therefore does not at all. I appreciate the attention - thank you.

  • Basic question about webcenter

I am new to Oracle. I sent some ADF applications (including a SOA application) to a weblogic domain. I have also some applications deployed running on tomcat and jboss.
Can I use webcenter to integrate the following pages:

    http://localhost:7001 / em
    http://localhost:7001 / console
    http://localhost: 8080

WebCenter and other J2EE Portals are based on standards. If your application does not apply to a standard that you can forget about integration.
How a Portal integrates different applications is to use a portlet. You cannot integrate just some random application on some random application server. If it is a standard base portlet, then it does not matter what application server, it is running.

Webcenter you can integrate existing applications of ADF turning them into portlets or some taskflows.
Another application can also be integrated, but you must also transfer to the portlets.

Another way to integrate web "pages or parts of web pages is a web clipping. In this way cut you parts of other pages and show them to your portal.

Another thing to do is use web center as base for the users entry point were they can define the external applications. You can set external applications in webcenter providing the connection URL. Each user can set up their external application, so they can click on a link in the webcenter and the external application opens without they need to connect to this application again. It can be doen for any application on any application server.

WebCenter has components to display a list of the tasks of a SOA process.

You cannot integrate the weblogic console or enterprise manager to the breast of an application webcenter unless you configure it as an external application... But you cannot create your own screens using components of the console or EM.

WebCenter is not a magic tool that integrates it than never J2EE application... WebCenter has limited features to integrate as I said above. You can use web clipping and external application.
If you really want to integrate, transform the other applications for portlet providers.

Their isn't any product on the market that allows you to integrate different applications to different application servers... Their is always a necessary equiped efford... In the case of webcenter, you must transfer the request to the producers of portlet...

  • Basic questions about events

1 can explain the basic need of a start point event? And how it works with two processes?

I heard that he used to invoke (initiate) another process in the case of an event. In this case how it is differ from chained process (IE subprocesses ARE)?

    Thank you

    Nith

"I heard that he used to invoke (initiate) another process in the case of an event"

    That is right.

"In this case how it is differ from the chained process (IE subprocesses ARE)?

It is similar, but yet others.

With the chained process, you decide when you call the sub-process by adding a step in your process. But sometimes, you don't want to add a step to the process. You want to rely on an event of lifted from somewhere.

The event can be lifted by one step in the current process. For example if you use the service to the user, you can intercept the OnDeadline event and then start a new process when a delay occurs. You can do that with a chained, process because the element is not really completed yet the user stage.

Sometimes, you need to catch an event that does not come from your process at all. For example, LC rights management can raise an event when a document is viewed in Acrobat. With the event, you can start a process when this happens.

  • basic questions about WLS

Hi, I'm new to weblogic administration. How can I find the databases accessed by application? How to find dependencies of the application for a given applicattion? Apart from data bases on what resources to ask idepends? I don't have access to the administration console. What is the another way to find this info?

I will be happy for any info you guys provide me in order to understand the basics of weblogic better beyond my questions.

    Thanks in advance.

You can find out what your domain is configured to use data sources:
    \config\jdbc

Regarding the dependencies of the application, those are usually described in application deployment descriptors. I suggest to ask the team of application for each application.

  • REALLY stupid question about virtual machines and disks of cancellations.

I'm a bit hesitant to ask this question because it might make me look stupid, but...

When I'm done using Virtual PC and a virtual machine running Windows XP Pro with Vista 64 Home Premium because the host os, often I did not any significant changes to the hard disk of the virtual machine.

What I save gets saved to a network share on my server for files and printing from Win98 and saved on a flash drive.

Assuming that I do no configuration changes or anything else I want to keep, is there a reason barely stopping properly when I 'cancellations discs' enabled?

Any reason, I can not save time by pressing the 'X' button and choose 'disable and remove changes '?

I am aware of patches, but took me to inform me of the patches, and I can get patches when it's convenient for me and I always validate changes when I install the patches. I'm not using it for anything other than my classes of the school of the evening for the time being, so it is not much of a value of protection on the virtual machine, and I used to write papers on the host operating system. I just use the virtual machine to play with the admin tools in an environment where I can easily fix it a massive screw-up without spending hours to reinstall Windows.

    Hey SlickRCBD,.

Not a stupid question at all! :)

It's very well hit the X when you have activated the disks of cancellations. And corruption or problems with the active virtual machine will be resolved when using the drive to cancel it.

  • Basic questions about HP 4620

I helped my mother buy a new 4620 HP all-in-one recently. We live in different cities and it is new to computing and printing but I help via Skype and webcam. It is an 85 spry.

Anyway, I just wanted to know something that I see not answered in the Guide of the user of the printer. I know that the ADF (automatic document feeder) can take up to 35 documents at a time, but I get the impression that if she puts more than one document in the ADF, it should press copy then black copy or color copy once for each document in the ADF. Is this fair? Or is there some sort of option print all she can call to a couple of keys can get the entire stack in the ADF file to print?

Unfortunately, her webcam is not sufficient resolution for me to be able to read the writing on the screen. She said that she did not see any option like this to the screen, but this surprises me a little. I would have thought that an option Print everything would be present somewhere.

Also, can anyone confirm if there is a real wireless BUTTON on the control panel or is it just an icon? I'm talking the leftmost four points on the control below the LCD Panel. The User Guide is a wireless button and warns that by pressing will cause his wireless connection information appears on the screen. I can't get a response directly from it or not, there is actually a button (with a top icon) or simply as an icon. Her webcam is not sufficient resolution for me to be able to tell. I wonder if it's like the power button on my screen, a Samsung T260, which seems only an etching printed as part of the monitor, but cause actually the monitor to turn off if I put my finger on it, or even if it is not raised or depressed somehow from the rest of the framework. Where's the button wireless separated from icon and at a different place? The manual seems to say that it is a button and an icon, but by the behavior it becomes, it seems more that it's just an icon and the wireless button is. If the button is separate, where is he?

I would try the troubleshooting wireless in the manual, but I can't start since we can not get the wireless button to bring up the wireless information.

The last two times she turned on, the display shows the wireless connection needs to work before her, even if it is just copy, which shouldn't need the wireless feature. The wireless must actually work to copy?

If I could get the answers to these questions, I think we could do ourselves. In fact, we are very happy with how this printer is easy to use. My mother is very new to all this technology and has actually used most of the functions of the printer now without incident with a coaching just a little distance from me. Once we nailed this wireless issue, I think we'll be good to go in the foreseeable future.

    1. all pages in the ADF will be considered to be a job. It will not be able to tell a new document. So, if you press color copy, it will make a color copy of pages loaded in the ADF.

    2. the wireless here icon is a light. If it flashes, it is not connected to the network, if it is regular, it is. You can access the settings wireless via the configuration menu. You can get more information here.

    Thank you

  • Basic question about ESXi networks

    Hi all

It may be a very simple question for you but I am new to ESXi and I need your help.

I have a configuration of ESXi envionrment like that.

    192.168.1.200 - ESXi Server

    192.168.1.50 - a Linux machine

    192.168.1.60 - a Windows 8.1

ESXi server connects to a router and the network is 192.168.1.0/24.

    The topology just like that.

    Screen Shot 2016-07-03 at 11.08.25 AM.png

    My problem is,

    1. I have a Mac machine connect to the same router. There is a web interface built into the Linux box. Can I use the Windows 8 to go, but I can't use the machine to physical Mac do. The firewall is off turn in ESXi already

    2. How can I make the two machines able to access internet?

    Thank you!!

After taking a second look at the configuration of the network, I have seen that you have configured a VLAN ID on the port group. Assuming you are using a router not supported (i.e. without ports trunk/tag), this may cause the problem. Please remove the VLAN ID to see if that solves the problem.

  • basic questions about the Bigdata, NOSQL, and Hadoop

    Hello

I have fundamental questions related to Bigdata. (I have Googled it but still want to confirm with experts)

Please correct me if I'm wrong on below.

    (1) as far as I know data large are the collection of unstructured data. We can even store relational data as well.

    (2) NOSQL is a product of Oracle to manage bigdata (UN structured data and relational data as well)

    (3) Hadoop is the only framework that is available on the market to manage the bigdata.

What are the other systems of database that we have in the market to manage the bigdata.

    See you soon,.

    Suri

    Suri,

NoSQL is a distributed (with indexing and schematics) database. From a database point of view, NoSQL is a good place to start you off. Hadoop is a framework for distributed processing, rather than a database. If you are looking to take advantage of your database skills, then I suggest starting with NoSQL.

Oracle Press has recently published "Oracle Big Data Handbook," which is an overview of the suite of large data Oracle technology products. I would start there. You can find the book on Oracle Press or Amazon , Barnes & Noble.

    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards

    Dave
