  My H233H monitor displays an annoying blue "cable not connected" when my computer is off or in stand-by mode.  Monitor works find out otherwise and all the buttons on the front panel work.  But impossible to find a setting that will turn the monitor off when the computer stops sending a signal.

  Well, I realized that it is a problem of Acer monitor with HDMI input.

  There is no problem if I connect my H233H monitor with VGA or DVI cable.

  Just thought I'd come back and answer my own question if someone ever comes back here with a similar problem.

  There is lots of useful information to the Web site of your printer.  In addition, the most important thing you can do is to install the full features software for your printer.  The installation process should help you with the login process.

  General instructions to install the printer software

  • Create a Restore Point: create a restore - Win7 Point OR create a restore point Win8
  • Open drivers HP & downloads
  • Enter your printer model information
  • Select your printer in the list of the 'results '.

  OR

  • Open of printer drivers HP ENVY 4500 e-all-in-one
  • Enter your operating system from the menu drop-down
  • Click NEXT and scroll down
  • Find the category driver - software product installation
  • Select the base driver, e-print, or a full features software
  • Save the *.exe installation package (s) on your computer

  I just changed my BT broadband to Sky.It works fine on my Mac but not connecting with my roommates PC that uses Windows Vista.After calls long with sky they said there is a problem with the DNS.   The problem solved itself, Thunderbird has just started working. I followed the thread suggested by Christ1 and found none of it applied. No malware, no browser, no certificate error security block. I did, however, in Thunderbird, under Tools/Options/General uncheck the button for "When Thunderbird launches, show the Start Page in the message box." I do know that if this helped, Thunderbird still do not access Comcast mail for hours after that, even with several stops and restarts.

  I also created the same printer to be used wireless by the other devices without the Office of marketing, it was a pain having to keep it logging on when he fell asleep. The printer had a different name if you are using one.

  I have a portable Satellite L850-1v0.
  My monitor is an A.c.e.r X233H
  Windows 8

  I have the setting 'Disable the display' 5 minutes.

  However, when the laptop off the screen I get a small box that bounces around the screen stating "Cable not connected". The monitor is connected via the VGA port.

  If I connect the monitor to my other machine it turns off fine and do not show this message.

  How can I get the laptop to turn off the display correctly?

  The message appears because the signal to the external display was interrupted because of the setting: turn the display off.

  I think that the other computer/laptop supports another graphics card and so this message does not appear.
