Rearranging Drive C - can recommend Vista management computer or maybe third-party software such as the Partition Wizard.

original title: reorganize the C drive

I am very short of space on drive C (system disk).   I've been advised to rearrange the drive C partition, as I have a lot of space on the D drive.   What is the best way to do this without losing any data on C or by altering the system?   Can anyone recommend Vista management computer or maybe third-party software such as the Partition Wizard.

Hello

read this topic to regain free space on C:

see if this program helps you to determine what is take up space

http://www.Jam-software.com/treesize_personal/

by default system restore will have up to 15% of the capacity of the hard disk

you would like to reduce this amount

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/76227-system-restore-disk-space.html

http://www.vista4beginners.com/system-restore-space-used

also use disk cleanup

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/delete-files-using-disk-cleanup

also scan for malware

Download update and scan with the free version of malwarebytes anti-malware

http://www.Malwarebytes.org/MBAM.php

and read these information from microsoft on windows optimization

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/optimize-Windows-Vista-for-better-performance

and using vista disk management you need to delete D: and extend C: into the unallocated space where D: is

You can't fire a piece of D: on C: using vista DM

Save all data, because it will be lost on D: and make sure that D: is not your recovery partition

    Hi dynamitenews

    1. are you able to boot to the desktop?
    2. what happens when you try to start the computer?

    You must have the DVD drive to start the computer using the disk, you cannot use the external hard drive to do the same thing.

    Also I suggest you to make sure you have defined the start as CD/DVD-Rom as the first choice option in the BIOS. See below the help link-

    If nothing is done, then you can contact the manufacturer support for assistance on setting up the correct boot sequence and check.

  • Are third party software to convert dynamic disk to basic Drive Safe?

    Hi all

    I installed Windows 8 Pro on my laptop recently. Now, my hard drive got converted to basic dynamic. I want to use third-party software like EaseUs Partition Manager or Assistant Partition AOMEI. I want to know if it is safe to do so?  Are there Complications?

    Hi harsh,

    Note:

    There is a high risk of data loss. Make sure that you back up all the your impotent data before trying these steps.

    You can try the steps from here (article is for Win 7, but it also applies to win 8)

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc755238.aspx

    See the section additional Considerations of the article mentioned above.

    • The disk must not have any volumes nor contain no data until you can change to a basic disk. If you want to keep your data, back it up or move it to another volume, before converting the disk a basic disk.
    • Removal of volume will erase all data.

    Once the disks are converted to Basic, you must reinstall the operating system or to perform a factory reset.

  • Recovery software data and the partition for Vista?

    I have a HP desktop computer that started having problems starting. Startup Repair couldn't fix, but showed "no OS installed. I guess it's a corrupted MBR/MBT problem.

    In any case, I made the fatal mistake assuming that Vista has the same functionality of XP restore/recovery and would simply repair the file system not complete format/reinstall. Within two seconds, I realized that it was reformatting the drive and disconnected from the computer (because you can't give up a recovery).

    Now, of course, the player starts not at all and displays "No MBR".  I removed the disk and put it in an external USB box to see the content. It only shows a new Windows and a few other folders with one or two files system in them.

    Anyway, I know that all the old data has been not overwritten in 2 seconds, if it is still there. Not to mention, HP no longer ships of installation disks of Windows and preload in place of the images in a separate partition. I need to recover this option to re - install Vista, in the worst case scenario.

    So, I need/file recovery at least get software partition all my data. There are a hundred apps out there, and it is difficult to tell which are the best (they are quite expensive). I can't find any reputable sites that do an actual test on the Soft full - for example, C/Net only tests the features of the limited demo version.

    At the very least, I would like to recover my lost data on an external drive, then recover if possible, the installation of Vista partition and do a clean install on the disk.

    Are there apps free open source reliable and easy to use? So far, I am considering

    EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard Smart Partition Recovery

    Try this info below.

    You may need to contact the data recovery for it experts.

    Be warned: they are very $$$.

    Data recovery:

    Use Knoppix Live CD to try to recover your data:

    http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
    Download the Vista software from the link above.
    After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.
    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
    Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.
    See you soon.
    I'm not sure what a certificate of authenticity of the situation - I think nothing.  What you need is a product key (an alphanumeric code of 25 digits in 5 groups of 5 digits separated by dashes), usually affixed to the botton, back, or on the sides of the computer - unless you are fairly well watered and the disc will be useless since you will not be able to activate.  As well as the product key you need an Installation of Vista genuine disc (any disk of the same size of the ILO will be - maybe you know someone you can borrow an of) or an OEM Installation disc or a recovery disc from the manufacturer (at a small fee) or maybe there is a Partition of Recvery (depending on the manufacturer and the make and model of computer) - you can ask when you contact the manufactrer and their ask how to access - it will be a keyboard command any (not a BIOS change) assuming that it was not erased when they cleaned the disc.
    There is no download legal, free to a Vista installation disc, and you cannot use the recovery disk from another computer, because pilots and other information will be wrong and it will mess up of the facility and maybe even cause damage.
    Gurus,
    We are implementing PMS in R12.2.3
    We have a requirement that if a manager can ask a third party or a participant to be part of the evaluation process?
    Is this possible via the seeded approach?
    BR,
    In R12.1.x, system allows the Manager to add a participant/person in the evaluation process (step 2, add Participant) while to introduce him.
    Hopefully, similar functionality would be there in R12.2.x.
    Original title: Upgrade Vista 32-bit
    Buy a disc to update my pc using windows vista 32-bit. The disc has 4 netfx files. installation package I tried and get message asking me to install a setup of .NET Framework 1.1. Only having the disc I bought to upgrade. Help please.
    Exactly where did you buy this drive?
    The installer of Windows 7 should not be prompted to install the .NET Framework.
    Try to download the installation media of Windows 7 since Microsoft Software download page or follow any other instructions to get the media to install Windows 7 32-bit:
    For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.
    It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.
    Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:
    How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?
    What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?
  • How can I stop firefox to load a third-party file at startup to redirect?
    A member of my family recently install some freeware on my computer and now I have a question where it is basically hijacked my browser. For the most part, I have fixed all the problems except one: when ever my browser starts, it attempts to load an external file, which I've deleted for obvious reasons (in fact the whole directory there in), that redirect to a search engine, it is no longer occurs because the file has been deleted. I don't have any success for any part of the path to the file in the subject: config so I guess that it is clean. I copied a profile from a computer completely different to ensure it is not garbage in there. Finally, I already ran an anti-virus scan and two cleaning of Adware programs. Regardless of the boot settings, I always start up a "cannot open file:///C:/ProgramData/Bamcofs/snp.sc"which overall does not seem to be a problem, but it is rather annoying.
    PS I rather not have to reinstall unless it is absolutely necessary.
    You can check the target line in the shortcut to the Firefox desktop (right click: properties) to make sure that nothing is added after the path to the Firefox program.
