reboot to xp disc?

What is the simplest procedure to create a disk to reboot to xp?

You have a XP installation CD bootable authentic with the same Service Pack as your installed XP (many people don't).

You can make the CD bootable emergency easily - no XP support required.

I give bootable XP Recovery Console CD and Hiren's Boot CD and the candy to the people who have no real installation bootable XP CD - because they either lose or they have never had one in the first place.

You need no XP support for create or the other, even if you need real XP media to create something like a UBCD4WIN CD.

If your system came with XP installed, there are some Internet articles on how to create an XP installation CD bootable from what should be the folder c:\i386 on your preinstalled version, but I've never tried to see if they work.

Here are some notes I have on it (not verified by me personally).

Here is a link that describes a method involving an OEM and SP2 system I've ever tried, but it looks like it could work.  If you try it and it works, let us know.

Create a bootable CD of XP from a preinstalled OEM OS system that has an i386 folder.

They will help you in the flow of the current XP Service Pack inside a copy of the current i386 folder:

http://www.howtohaven.com/system/createwindowssetupdisk.shtml

Depending on which Service Pack that you have, you may need to change the signs to Service Pack 3 and then it may not always work.

Some say that's not possible:
http://www.askdavetaylor.com/can_i_create_my_own_windows_xp_installation_cd.html

If you want to be able to have a very good chance of repairing your system for future problems (while you are thinking about creating an XP installation CD), you should at least have a bootable XP Recovery Console CD available.  If you do not have a hardware problem, you can fix any affliction XP from the Recovery Console.

  • After the backup hard drive cloning ARD launch

OS: 10.11.6 (issue which happened on 10.11.5; update today to see if this helped)

Recently, I reformatted my hard drive to correct some wacky partitioning I played with and cloned my rear disc of a direct clone of CCC.  Also, I recreated my restoration, installation of Boot Camp and installed Windows partition.

Then, I went to launch the Office remotely and received the following error:

As a logical person, I uninstalled the application by following the steps here, reinstalled and restarted... to get the same error.

At this point, I have Google would be a bit and found mention of a permissions issue which was that other people having the same problem.  I checked my diary and here, I got the same errors:

The strict solution seems to be to delete this folder and recreate it.  First of all, I did this by connecting to the recovery partition and deleting the folder 'C' via the Terminal I didn't so not disable controls system integrity.  This resulting no change on a restart, even after do it again, uninstalling Remote Desktop, and then reinstall.

Then I disabled the system integrity (csrutil disable) in recovery and started to remove it when it is started.  I ran across the same as hoops above because it does not work all the time.

I even went away so crazy just now as to delete the folder of higher level instead of just the subfolder 'C '.  That no longer works.  I changed the permissions on the folder to 777.  No change.  Changed the owner to my user account because he invites him for an administrator account.  No change.

I went to the ARD support page and tried to present a real ticket, but it turns out that the ARD is not in the list of software that you can file a ticket on.

I'm out of ideas.  No luck, can anyone provide some guidance?

Hi, I have exactly the same problem the first time, I don't have the link with a CCC clone, but this morning (after a clean install because of this problem), I cloned my boot on a new SSD drive and this issue comes up with the clone. I reboot the original disc and ARD works on original, CCC is causing the problem, I made several clones with previous systems without problems, so it's probably a mixture of Capitan/CCC/ARD pure problem.

I left a message of support to the CCC with a reference to your thread.

hope for solution too... for the first time in my life of Apple that a problem needs a new facility...

  • Clone of SSD will not appear at startup, but present in the startup disk

    OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan

    iMac (27-inch, late 2012)

    2.9 15

    32 GB of Ram

My machine came with a standard 1 TB hard drive. I recently bought a PNY 960 GB SSD CS1000. and a USB to SATA adapter from Ebay.

First of all, I cloned with the CCC. Then tried to use disk utility to see if that was the problem. Both have the same results.

The cloning process was successful in both cases. It displays not only at boot time. I start my imac. Press the Option key and the new drive does not appear as a boot option. To make sure that its not only meet its time but never watch? After the starting of the machine. I go into the Preferences system-startup disk and performances as an option. I unlock a tell the machine to reboot using this disc. And it will restart, but still does not use the SSD.

I did score as GUI and logged and followed all the relevant instructions. It seems fitting that at startup it find until after the start.

Any ideas on what is happening. I want to be sure that it will boot from USB until I open my machine and install it as a replacement. Thank you

Strange indeed. Looks like you've done everything right, but something does not play well. My first suspect is the USB-SATA Adapter, I do not trust any of the cheap knockoff sold on eBay. What happens if you clear and just install a new copy of El Capitan on the SSD instead of a clone? It will then start?

  • Boot order does not

    Hello

I recently bought my first Acer laptop, the 572 R7.

I have a question about the order of starting Windows for Acer R7 572 with Msata disc and the original HD 1 TB at the same time.

I used successfully the method of retrieval USB key to install windows 8.1 a Samsung Evo 250 GB Msata disc (with 1 TB WD HD) removed.

I have re inserted HD 1 TB and could now use the boot (via ) menu to start either disk 250 GB Msata,.
or the original HD 1 TB and saw the two disks of Windows 8.1.

The problem I have is that by default (without using the start menu), the laptop still start on the original
    1 TB HD.

Is it possible to configure the laptop so it will start always from MSata disk with Windows 8.1 still installed

on the original HD 1 TB?

I was reading the various posts, and it seems that, in order to always start from the msata drive, I have to
format the hard disk of 1 TB to the original address. Can someone please confirm this and also please advise if there is
things to watch for when the HD 1 TB reformatting.

I prefer to keep the 8.1 Windows hard disk of 1 TB, but would be ready to format it if it is the only
way to have the drive msata as the main boot drive.

    Thank you

Just a note that I solved the problem for the benefits of others.

I used start to boot from the disc Msata menu and formatted the D drive (it's actually one of the partitions on the disk of 1 TB). When I started the laptop, he went to drive recovery.

I've rebooted using Boot disc menu Msata. After some research, I used the diskpart utility to remove all 4 partitions on the 1 TB hd: (Disk0 is 1 TB of hard disk, disk 1 is MSata)
    DiskPart

    Select disk 0

Select partition x (x = partition no, for each of the listed partitions)
    Delete partition override

After you delete all partitions, computer management shows a 1 TB hard drive to the adjacent address. I formatted the drive and then restarted the laptop. Now, my laptop stops on the Msata drive automatically, and I have a HD 1 TB of storage.

  • Oleaut32.dll seems to be on the computer but the 3rd party install can't find it

A brief history. I got the Itunes error for months. I lived with him (after failed it several attempts at correction). To do this, I'll post the following event log error. Now I am trying to install software for a video camera and it can not find the file oleaut32.dll (this time in the System32 directory). I bought and run the RegServe software to solve registry problems (which was supposed to go to fix this). Now, I'm getting several other errors in the event log (unrelated to the errors of the oleaut32.dll file) after the execution of this software. I tried to repair Itunes after the register of difficulty in case he had to just update its links. No luck. No luck on installing the camera software. I installed optional updates from Microsoft incase they might also need this dll file and therefore would set the record link. No luck. (but no installation failure).

Prior to this installation, I was running 32 bit XP pro

You'll need during cratch because there is no way to upgrade a 32 bit OS to a 64-bit version of Windows.

Check your BIOS to make sure that your DVD drive is set as the first boot device, and then save your settings (if a change was required) and get out.

With the 64-bit DVD in the DVD drive, restart the computer.

Choose the "Custom" option and then delete the existing system and Windows partitions, click next to continue the installation,

Since you enabled the OS using the 32-bit product key most likely you need to activate by phone this time.

    Hello world

    I have a Satellite M100 (bought mid-2006), 512 MB RAM, 60 GB HDD, Intel CPU T2050.

I decided to have a cleaning and use the restore disc to return the laptop to factory settings, and then reinstall only what I really wanted.
I had this done yesterday, I had forgotten something, then he ran again about 4 hours later.
The first time that the restore worked, now it reboots once the progress bar reaches full when he says "Loading RAMDISK Image".
After the progress bar reaches full, the mouse pointer appears for a few seconds then restart the computer.

Nothing has changed with the hardware or BIOS, and what is on the HD should not have any effect because I am booting from the DVD.
Can someone please help? I am at a loss to explain what happened in this interval of 4 hours.

    Thank you

    Hello!

I put t know which causes the problem too because I m not an expert, but sometimes I can read in the forum, you must delete all partitions before using the recovery disk.
You can do this with the Microsoft disk for example. Just boot from it and delete all partitions. After that, restart and try to use the recovery disc.

I put t know if it helps but you can give us feedback. :)

  • Disc SSD data store unavailable after reboot

I have a Kingston SSD drive installed in a Dell T620 SAS (Controller H710) basket bottom. It is configured RAID 0 (disk). Therefore, it is OK, and I created a data store using the full disc. It works very well in the virtual machine that it is assigned to you. However, when I reboot and look in the configuration of the storage is not there. I can add and it remembers. The bad news is that the virtual machine, it is affected to cannot start as long as I add back in manually.

A look at the list of devices, it shows that mounted. The difference between it and other readers is it says unknown partition format, it also says non - ssd.

I'm just against a unit of failure in charge here? I do not see the SSD drives listed in the list of supported devices, but I hardly find this page.

    Hi Lou

Why do not connect you to a port SATA (my last one)?

This seems to fix. Also, he appeared as an SSD and remembered all the stuff.

I guess it has to do with the SAS/RAID connection. Will try another drive to be sure.

Paul (German and English answers please)

    > I bought Norton AntiVirus but McAffee spam my computer every time. I don't find anything on McAffees support.
If you cannot use McAffee move the system and only use Norton.
(Control Panel > uninstall or change program).
    > And I wanted to have a recovery disc, so I started the program of recovery and burning the files to a dvd... but when I started my Win7 nothing happened... Is the DVD OK or not?
Sorry, but I don t understand this. New laptop comes with the pre-installed operating system (recovery image). Valuation backup image is saved on the HARD drive and you can use it for any new OS install - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm
Toshiba recommends that every laptop owner to create valuation DVD facilities. This DVD can be used for the installation of the OS, if something goes wrong with the HARD drive or recorded the recovery image.
To recovery, DVD creation, that you must use preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Media Creator. This is small application that will burn the recovery image on DVD media. It is very easy and in manuals s explained how it works.

Problem is that I don't understand what your problem is when you write when I started my Win7 nothing happened. Recovery DVD has nothing to with OS boot.
    > And I need a program to use my media Blu - Ray disc cause I wanted to watch a Blu - Ray disc but impossible to start...
As much as I know to watch BR Toshiba drives preinstalled WinDVD BD for Toshiba and you can use this drive BR discs.

Sorry, but only English is allowed.
