Hello
today I received a call from 001-256781425 a guy asking to come from a Microsoft technical service (New York accent?)
I hung up.
The call came through on my landline in the Netherlands Europe about ten minutes from there. 1.35 local time.
Please explain?

Did you expect a call from Microsoft (for example, in response to a support request, that you had made for them? If this isn't the case, then unrequested calls of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

Hey! I received a call from someone that they are of the Microsoft Security Department. They told me to visit www.microsoftantiscam.webs.com/support and download a program called Ammyy admin. Is it legitimate or not? They told me that they were legitimate, showing me that they knew my computer number or something.

    Quick answerr please!

Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

If you have given them access to your PC and then what you do will depend on the type of information you store on it, and how to use it. Personally, I would, at a minimum:

    ·        Change all passwords that may have been compromised. Doing this on another PC you can

have been infected and send the new password to scammers.

    ·        Make a clean (including a format) install of Windows or restore the factory State. You will lose all

data, so back to a separate drive. If you do not feel confident to do this to go

    professional/expert help.

    ·        Check the above return for viruses using at least two independent analysers of up-to-date antivirus.

    ·        Tell your bank, credit card companies, etc., what happened.

    ·        Watch for suspicious charges/payments on your credit cards and lodging.

    ·        Watch your e-mail accounts for any suspicious activity.

    ·        Consider to tell the local police / authorities.

It's a scam and with all the names and phone numbers, one who has
    become very frequent lately. See
    http://www.troyhunt.com/2012/08/virus-scams-social-engineering-victims.html

In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value,
If you leave them in your computer, which knows what losses they did are
    where confidential information they stole.

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following
    immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.

    2. change all of your passwords, especially banks or other
    financial sites.

  • I received a call from someone claiming to be the Microsoft.

Original title: fake call from Microsoft?

08:30... I just got a call from a man claiming he calls Microsoft (sounded Indian)... He began to tell me that I was apparently the Registrant for windows (bad) and I was loading the garbage in the back on the ground, when I tols him would not discuss anything over the phone with someone when I could not check who they were he got snotty with me  I told her to remove my number from their database and if they called again I account him for harassment... and then he raised his voice so I said how dare you call me at 8:30 in the morning and holler at me!

Needless to say that the number was not available when I tried to back ring

MS has no way to tell what is on your PC.  This is another example of the scam usual ' calls trying to access your PC to enter data and make you pay loads of money for "clean."

  • I received a call from someone claiming to be a representative of Microsoft

I just got a call from someone claiming to be a representative of Microsoft to report that my network downloads could be accompanied by unwanted files without my knowledge.  I know it's a scam, but I played along anyway.  The representative asked me to press the keys Ctrl + key Microsoft Logo at the same time.  Of course I hung up immediately, but I can't find in any of my research, what will make this combination of keys.  Can anyone advise, please.  Thank you.

Original title: what is CTRL + touch Logo Microsoft do?

It is a scam. This combination of keys does nothing. Then, my guess is that they will tell you that he was supposed to do something and work on you from here to get info on your machine. Microsoft never does unsolicited phone calls.
