Received an email from myself that I've not sent!
I received an email in my spam from my own email address - but I did not send the message!
It happened only once and I have loaded about 3 pieces of a strain of the virus on my computer (Dell Dimension 8300) to clean it out. It was months ago and now reappeared barely (I was monitoring it).
I have since run the adaware and spybot, AVG on the PC to delete, but I need to know if I should just delete this email address? -What is the email address that has been compromised or my PC? And how avoid that my email hijacked like that? Once that my email has been hacked it right? Should I just create a new one?
AdAware seemed to get something in my documents and settings (rather than General cookies) and who was kidnapped, but I want to know how it got there because I have all these pieces of virus on anyway?
PS - no one I know (in my AddressBook) received the same email from me.
Is it a coincidence that I moved my PC/internet connection on the same day and had bad plug or do any e-mail address that I put to the top of my machine, it will be hijackable? I have to get my PC cleaned by a professional? Or use virus checkers enough?
PS - I have too many virus checkers on anyway? someone once said that too many is just as bad as anything?
I know there are a lot of questions here - grateful for any help, thank you

I received an email from my address, but not send it.
I received an email from my email address, and the text was a phishing scam. I have not clicked on anything in the message. I ran my security software and found no problem. I'd do anything else? Thank you for your help.
It is not uncommon for messages of spam and phishing to have a fake sender name and address because if you're spamming, you will not use your real information. The idea behind using your name and address as the sender, it's that you're not likely to block you.
Of course, it is always prudent to consider whether someone might have actually gained access to your e-mail account, consider changing your password, but usually it's just a case of falsification of documents.

Proceed to a very thorough check for malware and then change your password by e-mail.

If you need search malware here's my recommendations - they will allow you to
