Receiving e-mails on the network home

I have a network made up of a desktop computer running XP Professional with a Verizon router and a Dell Vista laptop.    My office shows new messages received more than my laptop.  For some reason any messages more get at my desk as my laptop.  He worked for a year, then all of a sudden it stopped.

What should I do?  Where should I start?

Assuming that he is a POP account, you see behavior waited, the first machine to connect to the mailbox downloads the messages if found, then delete them from the server. These messages are then unavailable for the second PC, which, in turn, will perform the same action on all new messages as he deems, preventing these now those to be available for the first machine. In order to keep the 2 PCs in sync, they must assign "Leave a copy of the mail on the server" for both PC to have access to all messages.  In this case, one of the two PCs must be also on "Mail to delete the server after days (xx)" so that it accumulates and you run our space e-mail on the server of your ISP.

  • How to access Windows Mail from another PC on the network home wireless.

I have Windows Mail already implemented on the Dell XPS with Vista. We have added a second Netbook with Windows 7 on wireless network at home. How can I access the widows of the second PC Mail account? Thank you

The solution mentioned by others you will only see
new entrants on multiple computers.  It will allow you to see the
messages sent from a computer to be seen on several computers.  In the order
to do the latter, you would need to move to an IMAP or HTTP account rather
    as POP3.

Note this time Windows Mail and Windows Live Mail require that their message
store reside on a local hard drive, not on premises that are not accessible via the network
    drive.

  • Expansion of the network home

    Hello

I have a LRT224, and I recently added a WRT1900AC on the network.  Before the expansion, I got 3 computers and a PS3 connected to the 224.  I have a 4th computer, call it #4, in a remote part of the House, it is not near any network connection and decided to add the 1900.

I encountered some problems.  The computer to port 3, let's call it #3, 224 custody loss of connection to the network and so to the internet.  I could see 3 all the computers on the home network until I added the 1900.  When I connect #3 to the 1900, via a cable, I have a connection and the internet.  #4 works very well get on the net.

The other question I have, is that computers on the 224 cannot see those on the 1900 and vice versa.

My guess is, I need to change some settings in the routers themselves, but I do not have those to whom I need to change.

    Where should I start?

    Thank you

    EDIT:

I forgot to add the before and after configurations.

    Before:

    Modem to 224

    Port 1: Computer 1

    Port 2: Computer 2

    Port 3: Computer 3

    Port 4: PS3

    After:

    Modem to 224

    Port 1: Computer 1

    Port 2: Computer 2

    Port 3: Computer 3

    4 port: WRT1900AC

    1900

    Port 1: PS3

I moved the computer to port 3 on the 224 to port 2 on the 1900 due to connection problems.

    Thanks again Chad.

    I turn to these configurations.

  • How to configure the network home wiFi with dlink router

I need to create a home network using the dlink WiFi router
a computer with Vista and the second with XP
can someone tell me what havo to do to configure the router etc etc o give me same informamation on where I can learn to do
I want just the old pc with xp for the server and the vista one customer but more importantly I need the file on XP to migrate under vista.
Thank you very muche for your end of the patient cooperation
in return, I give free cooking classes
    see you soon

I'm not sure if you are asking how to set up a secure wireless network, if you ask how to share files between your two computers (and there is no "customer" or "server" in a working group, in a field - which is not), or both.

So I will give you information on doing both.

    Router - configure manually

Setting up a router is simple enough. Normally, you run the CD that came with the router and follow the instructions. If you're running Vista, maybe the CD that came with the router does not work; I do not know this. But you can set up the router without the CD. Note that if you have Internet cable for the connection you have just set up the router to DHCP (or there may even be a choice of cable to choose). If you have DSL Internet, you select TRP usually and enter the username and password you selected when you initially set the DSL connection. So:

    1. turn off the power to your cable modem.
    2. attach a class (usually supplied with the router) ethernet cable cat5e port Internet/WAN from the router to the ethernet port on the cable modem.
    3. connect the ethernet cable cat5e from the network card in your computer to one of the ports on the router. If you do not have an ethernet cable (because you were using USB), you will need to go to the store and buy a.
    4. turn on the cable modem. After that all the lights are on, turn on the router.

    To configure the router:

Have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine. The first thing to do is to change the default password because * all * known default passwords for different routers.

Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password that you have created (exactly as you wrote it with all capital letters and punctuation) to join the network and start surfing.

    Networking

Here are the steps of general network troubleshooting. Just cannot apply to your situation, so just take the bits that are. It may seem daunting, but if you follow the steps in the links and suggestions below calmly and consistently, you will have no difficulty to implement your sharing.

Excellent, comprehensive, but easy to understand article on sharing files/printer under Vista. Contains information about sharing printers and files, and the folders:

    http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

For XP, start by running the Network Setup Wizard the on all machines (see warning in section A below).

Problems sharing files between computers on a network are usually caused by 1) a misconfigured firewall or a firewall neglected (including a dynamic firewall in a virtual private network); or (2) inadvertently run two firewalls such as the firewall of Windows and a third-party firewall. and/or (3) do not have accounts to the same users and passwords on all computers in the workgroup. (4) tries to create actions where the operating system does not.

    A. configure the firewall on all machines to allow traffic to local area network (LAN) as being approved. With the Windows Firewall, it means which allows file sharing / print on the Exceptions tab normally run the XP Network Setup Wizard will take care of this for these machines. The only "witch hunt", it will turn on the XPSP2 Windows Firewall. If you are not running a third-party firewall or you have an antivirus/security with its own firewall component program, then you're fine.  With a third-party firewall, I usually set up the allocation of LAN with an IP address range. E.g. would be 192.168.1.0 - 192.168.1.254. Obviously you would substitute your correct subnet. Refer to the safety of any third party program or the user forums for how to correctly configure its firewall. Do not run more than one firewall. DON'T STOP FIREWALLS; CONFIGURE THEM CORRECTLY.

    (B) to facilitate the Organization, put all computers in the same workgroup. This is done from the System applet in Control Panel, the computer name tab.

    C. create the counterpart of the user accounts and passwords on all machines. You do not need to be logged into the same account on all machines and assigned to each user account passwords can be different; accounts/passwords just need to exist and to match on all machines. DO NOT NEGLECT TO CREATE PASSWORDS, EVEN IF ONLY OF SIMPLE. If you want a machine to boot directly to the desktop (a particular user account) for convenience, you can do this:

XP - configure Windows to login automatically (MVP Ramesh) - http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Autologon.htm

Vista - Start ORB > Search > type: netplwiz [Enter]
Click continue (or provide an administrator password) when you are prompted by UAC

Uncheck "users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". Select a user account to connect automatically by clicking on the account you want to highlight and press OK. Enter the password for this user account (when it exists) when you are prompted. Leave blank if there is no password (null).

    D. Si one or more of the computers is XP Pro or Media Center, turn off Simple file sharing (Folder Options > view tab).

    E. create share as you wish. XP Home does not share the users directory or the Program Files, but you can share folders inside those directories. A better choice is to simply use the Shared Documents folder. See the first link above for more information on Vista sharing.

    F. you have the job of file sharing (and tested by exchanging a file between machines), if you want to share a printer connected locally to one of your computers, share of this machine. Then go to the printer mftr Web site. and download the latest drivers for the correct system. Install them on the target machines. The printer must be collected during the installation procedure. If this isn't the case, install the drivers and then use the Add Printer Wizard. In some cases, printers must be installed as local printers, but it is outside this response.

  • Unable to join the network "Home" with the iPhone

Immediately, my iPhone detects my network "Home", but will not allow me to connect. I have 2 desktop Mac connected if it means something. Support Apple says that the problem is with the router. I was watching the boards until my head swim, and I can't find anyone else with this problem. In other words, unless those with password failure are the same SEO. My subject line in this post is exactly the error message I get. I would like suggestions. Thank you!

What is the model of the router?

What kind of security you use on the router...? If you use WEP, use Key1 as network key. Make sure that Mac Filterring disable on the router... Try changing the channel on the router wireless. Also check out this link.

This is not a fault BLackberry, when you send an email to the same address, the e-mail appears in the sent and Inbox on the Z10, it also gets sent to the computer.

  • Disconnecting from the network home

Win 7 I have a stand-alone computer (not other computers) with a USB - connected printer and a connection to a modem (without router) via a network (?) (not USB) cable.  I have no other computers or printers.  Win 7 connected me to a network home, maybe because my printer is compatible with wireless (but I have no WiFi - or interest in functionality).  If I disconnect the home network I lose the internet connections or printer?

My apologies but I found your statement at the opening a bit confusing.

Your home network is connected to the modem, a local area network, and is a type of HOME that helps your computer share with a reliable source, connected to your modem/router.

A HOME network is essentially the default setting...

A PUBLIC network limited with any computer that can be attached to your router/modem to share files.

If your printer is connected via a USB cable, disconnect from the network will NOT affect the communications between your computer and the printer and the printer will do what you expect it to do.

However, you will lose Internet you disable the network connection.

  • BlackBerry 8330 smartphones cannot receive e-mail from the ISP

I tried and tried to set up my own domain mail server to receive e-mail. I even picked up the phone to Sprint and they tried, but we are unable to read incoming messages. Sending works fine.

I think that I followed it to down to the fact that I use the mail server's 'pop' in the name if the Blackberry Internet Service thinks its an IMAP4 e-mail account, it is not. My server name is "mondomaine.fr", without mail or pop in front of the name. I can't understand how to change this setting advanced since the Blackberry or on the site of Sprint, even though I see the setting as IMAP4.

    Any ideas?

It turns out that the firewall on my Blackberry settings were set to block all messages from BIS. I had removed the battery because of a condition of hanging a few months ago, and I guess that this reset that firewall setting. If I wasn't a geek, I never would have figured this out and Sprint and this forum was no help at all.

Thought I'd know others where they have the same problem. You need to go to Options > Security Options > firewall > and look for the check mark next to Blackberry Internet Service and uncheck the box. Then save. E-mail started downhill a few minutes.

It was buggy, and so I went down to the firmware before that.  I have all the computers works well in the House except my office.  It connects to the network, he can see the other computers on the network can still do a windows update. But when I go to use google chrome or internet explore it just won't connect to the internet.  Has anyone already experienced this? It does not work either if it's a wired or a wireless connection, it was fine before the upgrade downgrade and following. It is on this desk that I installed and uninstalled cloud connection thew.  I know enough to set up the network, but when it does not work... .so I'm lost for what to do. Help, please!

I did a restore of the system to a point before I upgraded to Cisco Connect Cloud, and that did the trick. Thank you for your willingness to help. All is well now.

  • Password required to access the network home

I just plugged my new Dell XPS 420 under Vista Premium on my Dell Dimension 8300 under XP SP2 through a router linksys wired. I changed the workgroup names are identical and sharing.  The XPS 420 replaced a Dell Dimension 8100 older on the network.

The Dimension can access shared files on the Vista machine with no problems, but when I try to access the files on the Dimension 8300 in my XPS 420 wonder a user name and a password.

I don't know what user name or password it asks for but that you want to disable this requirement.  Any ideas on how I could do this, or if I can't disable it, what username and the passwork it might need?  My 2 pc's are not protected by Word.  Thanks for any help.

  • Why I have not received e-mails from the last 2 days?

It seems that my account has been hacked. All my contacts were deleted and some of my emails from my inbox sent have also been removed. Quite simply, I can't receive emails. I tried to use my son's account to see if there is no message, but nothing whatsoever, just, I don't get the emails. What can I do to start getting emails again and maybe even get all my contacts back?

Send you an email and see if you receive?  If this isn't the case, then there are probably a problem with your account.   If you get it, you may have no emails in the last 2 days (or if you are unsure that you did, just on).  If you use an e-mail program, go to the place on your online account and see if the emails are there - then the problem is that they are not transmitted for some reason any (it could be your e-mail program or it could be the provider - difficult to say at this stage).

You need to discuss with your email provider (one that provides you with e-mail service - perhaps your ISP, but maybe someone else entirely).  They are the ones who can access these things on your account and understand what is the problem (or help you to fix your computer's settings so that you get emails again).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

I would use on Win mobile 10 RGS sender connected on my home network.  Can someone from outside of the local network to connect to the system?  If so, what steps do you need to take the laptop/router to allow?  I used ROWS within a private network before with no problem, but try to use on the public network.  Try to work with remote clients.
