Recently, do 800ccc0f with Windows Live Mail IMAP protocol when just read AOL e-mail so I am not idle, but the server disconnected the connection!

I have Windows 7 Edition Home Premium, 64 bit on an HP G72 laptop. About 2 or 3 weeks, I get error code 800ccc0f when looking at my AOL emails on the downloaded Windows Live Mail program.  I am not idle, as I read my emails in Inbox, but it says that the server has unexpectedly disconnected the connection. So I close the program and restart WLM but the problem happen in say 15 minutes, sometimes earlier.

This is the IMAP protocol, with port 143 and secure SSL is 0.

(1) what is the cause for this?

(2) I have no virus detected by Windows Security Essentials etc.  So is it a recent Windows Update causing the problem, as kb2454826 affected WLM since January 2011? (I uninstall this update kb2454826).

I also noticed that the problem with the same error code occurs when I delete some e-mails in my Inbox.

So it is all awkward and Windows Mail on my last laptop Vista was better on the screen, functionality, reliability, and Outlook 2002 on my laptop XP Pro worked and looked better also. I use WLM version 11, I think.

(3) can Microsoft Windows Mail works on Windows 7, or at least improve WLM to look and work like Windows Mail with better reliability too?

Thanks in advance.

SofiaS

Hi Sofia S

I use windows live mail version 11 and have an account to imap aol here are the settings I use.

Right-click on your aol account and click Properties,
Tab servers make sure that my server requires authentication is checked.

The tab advanced,
Mail Port SMTP outgoing # is 587
Check this server requires a secure connection (SSL)

Incoming IMAP mail
Check this server requires a secure connection (SSL)

change the server 2 or 3 minute wait times, I use 2 and that works for me.

After clicking on apply and close the window re - open prorperties and check that mail port # 587 outgoing sometimes he stuck back to default settings.

Hope this helps

Sorry to have troubled you - problem solved. To set up my new Windows Live Mail I thought I need to establish a Windows Live account, so I did. Is not familiar with the presentation of Windows Live Mail, I didn't know that there are two accounts on the left side and one has been expanded, the Windows Live Mail account. My Westnet email accounts has been listed but not developed. As soon as I expanded it here, he had the sent mail another folder which included my recently sent emails! Outside of embrrassed, glad it is resolved.

  • Error with Windows Live Mail Server-4102

My windows Live mail continues to give me a server error - 4102.  My outgoing mail works fine, but my incoming does not come more.

Help needed and appreciated if all next.  Thank you.  Margaret.

    Original title: Server Error-4102

After three days of 'try' to fix myself, I finally called the Smart computer Tech, like taking his monthly magazine and their technical service VERY GOOD.

The only thing I have not done, but it has been reviewed, had to go to

My Control Panel and remove Windows Live Mail, to make it appear as once again.  But the com SM technology. at - it a much easier way.  He went to Windows Live Mail, tools / properties, then deleted my account and added a new one.

It's just to know the right way to take these steps. For me I went to help and Support & typed in "How to add or remove a Windows Live Mail account", and then click.  This will put you through to Windows Live Mail you read on the axes. (I found that I was unable to get to this SITE via my work Windows Live Mail icon on my desktop.) But the consultation through help and support in the type Blue and double clicking it came, giving me the Tools menu, click on it to get accounts, then proceed from there.

Then test by sending you an e-mail.

If all goes well it will help all those, novices (like me) to solve this problem.  Good luck.  June G.

  • BIG problems with Windows Live Mail

I am running Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 Professional to access my AOL email accounts, which are on a basis of IMAP.  I use a laptop brand new have a 1 TB HDD and 8 GB of RAM, so the size and speed are not a problem.  The first annoying problem I have is that whenever I close by Mail, I get a message saying that it is the purge of records.  Five seconds later, I get an error message from the server is offline, so the work has not ended.  Then, I need to close the windows.

Secondly, when I reply to messages, sometimes it takes 5 to 10 seconds or more for the wheel stops.  If there is an attachment to the original email, the message that I send doesn't go away, even after they are sent, which makes me wonder if it was sent.  There are also an excessively long time to delete messages.

I've used several other e-mail programs in recent years, including Outlook Express and have never encountered problems in using the same accounts AOL and format.  Are there changes I need to do, or are these problems known glitches between Windows Live Mail and an AOL IMAP account?

  • I had problems with windows live mail, I uninstalled it, now I have no e-mail at all, can you help me. I've been using windows vista

I had problems with windows live mail, I uninstalled it, now I have no mail at all, I was using windows vista

    Hello

You can download, install, and configure Windows Live Mail again or use Windows Mail, which is the default email program in Vista.

How to set up Windows Mail.

Contact your ISP (Internet Service Provider); They provide your broadband / dial connection.

    Ask them to:

    1. your username with them

    2. your password with them.

    3 incoming mail POP3 server.

    4. the outgoing mail SMTP server

All the settings that you need to come from them, not Microsoft; and they are usually happy to help you set up your e-mail program.

You can use this guide to set up Windows Mail:

  • Spam blocking: setting up a list of "allowed" senders of e-mail with Windows Live Mail?

I have on the execution of ideas to put in place of the blocked domains and keywords blocked with Windows Live Mail.  These work well, but the spammers are constantly thinking up new things that I've not yet blocked.  So, I would like to put up a 'allowed' list of email addresses that I want to go to my box and everything else go to the junk e-mail folder.  I have several thousand "authorized" addresses, in a worksheet.  Someone knows a way to do this?

One thing is certain, it's actually pretty easy.

    1. Click on the arrow under "Junk" in the toolbar, and then click Security Options:

    2. Use the 'Safe list' option only

    3. Add the people that you trust to the allow list in the top tab.

Tip: you can automatically add your address book, so that anyone in your contacts is automatically secure without having to add them manually.  You can also automatically add anyone you send outgoing messages, so that their response is considered safe when they respond back.

  • Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start.

Having a problem with Windows Live Mail lock up shortly after the start. When I start the Task Manager to end the process, it sometimes freezes and the only way to solve the problem is to disconnect which forces the profile to close. Assuming a corrupted profile, I followed the instructions of Windows support to fix a corrupted profile and copied all the files except ntuser.*. When I try to paste them into the new user profile (all profiles are admins), I get the error message asking if I want to leave to proceed. When I click on continue, all THE files in the profile block "corrupt" to the new one, including ntuser.*, that I was not choosing. Why? If the files are rewritten empty? Tried 3 times, same result. Please notify.

I think I found it! I went in the Windows Live Forum and found a thread that looked like my problem. He suggested going to msconfig and take off Live Mail list start. I couldn't find it on the list, but the top element was "" default EXE"something of an unknown manufacturer. I took it out of the startup list, and Live Mail works again! Thanks for your help!
