Added by Moderator: operating system is Windows Vista bit 65
Sony VAIO 4 GB, 300 GB hard drive, windows xp family premium 64 bit is slow, especially during the launch of any software of Microsoft Office family and freezes freezes frequently. I checked this virus with Northon AV, Microsoft Security Essentials, and Malwarebytes, none of them have found a virus in the system. In addition to problems, I can't back up my files (any time I try to backup, I get the following error message: "the backup was not completely successful.) An error has occurred. The following information can help you resolve the error: the system cannot find the specified file. (0 x 80070002) »
I should add that I began 'Microsoft shadow copy provider' as well as 'Cliché' services manually just before I start the backup.
Any help appreciated.
When you were looking for registry keys referenced were there profile keys that you did not create. In other words, your profile key is listed as C:\Users\Your user name. Were all the other user profiles listed?
You save on a disk to a DVD disc or hard? If it is a hard drive is internal or external
Please navigate to regedit and make sure that the following key is listed.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsBackup
If this is not the case, click HERE. Download the Windows Backup.reg file. Save it to your desktop. Right-click on the file and choose merge. Confirm all the guests.
If the foregoing is not in question and that you save upward on a disc hard launch check disk on the disk to save the backup.

Windows 7 screen freezes, freezes mouse cursor and keyboard freezes.
Hi all
About a month ago my internet kept cutting at about 02:00 in the afternoon - even if my BThub said it was a signal - and my internet access would not return until 05:00 sharp later that day here. This went on for about two weeks, it doesn't happen too much now, however, recently, something happens...
I have a desktop HP Pavilion s5000 and all day - every day - not only freezes my screen, if I'm online or simply type in a Word doc, but my mouse cursor and keyboard freeze too, all at once. It's as if all of the computer crashes, and the only way I can "unfreeze" it is cutting off the entire batch to the switch. In this case nothing three times a day to ten times a day. Can someone tell me what could be the problem and how I can try to solve it? I did a system restore, to restore the PC to a date earlier, I did this about five times now, but the problem persists.
Many thanks in advance,
Danni.
Hello Danni,
Thank you for reaching out to us to the Microsoft Community Forum.
When your computer hangs or freezes, it is disruptive and can slow you down. There are a few reasons your computer might hang, freeze, or crash. Try the following common methods provided for in article below as a first step to solve the problem.
8.1 Windows, Windows 8 or Windows 7 hangs or freezes
Note:
The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.
Also as you use HP computer, you can try the troubleshooting provided in the link below steps and check if that helps resolve the issue.
Computer hangs or freezes (Windows 7)
Note:
BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
Important:
In case you follow ' step 7 "in the above link from HP that speaks to recover the computer to factory settings then you will need to contact HP support and we also recommend that you back up all important data to an external drive before recovery of the computer to the factory settings.
Hope that the information provided will help you. Do we know the State of the question, so that we can help you further.

The mouse icon moves firmly around the screen
Original title: floating freely icon mouse?
When you move the icon on the screen, it does not move firmly/precisely...feels almost as another hand is control.
Hi Claire,
Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.
In order to help you better, please provide us with the following information:
- Using a wired or wireless mouse or a touchpad?
- Using a laptop or desktop?
- Check the behavior by plugging another mouse.
According the description, I understand that the mouse icon is not mobile firmly across the screen. I suggest methods and check them off below if it helps:
1. check your mouse for dirt or debris if you use a wired mouse. To check debris, flip the mouse and twist the casing around the ball. It should run free, allowing you to remove it. Check the mouse cover and the area around the compartment of mice for the forests of dust that can keep the ball from rolling freely.
2. determine if a recent update is causing your mouse drifting on a laptop. Click on the "Start" menu and open the "Control Panel". Click on "System and Maintenance" and then click "Backup and Restore Center." Select a restore point and to reinstall updates one by one to determine what update causes your cursor problem.
3. disconnect your mouse if you use a cable one and make sure that your USB port is free of debris. Plug the mouse back and if the problem is resolved.
4 update your device driver by right-clicking on "My computer", then clicking on "Properties" and then clicking on the tab "Hardware" "Device Manager." Find your mouse driver, right click and select "update driver software".
I suggest you to refer the below link and try to change the mouse settings and check:

iPhone 6 screen freezes frequently
I have iphone running iOS version 9.3.1 6
Phone screen freezes frequently. I can see the screen but the touchscreen does not work. If I lock the phone by pressing the button, after that, he worked for a few minutes. But every now and then it freezes. It happens with all applications even on the home screen. Don't know what the cause.
Grateful if someone can help!
Try resetting your device. This will not erase your data stored on that device.
- Press and hold the sleep/wake button
- Press and hold the Home button
- Press and hold both buttons until the display turns off and on again with the Apple logo on the subject.
Alternatively, you can go to settings - general - reset - Reset all settings
If that doesn't work, restore your device to factory settings. Please note that this will delete the data on your device.
Take a look this Apple Support article: use iTunes to restore the iPhone, iPad or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support.

Why the graphics (picture in my pictures and web pages icons) began to jump?
What happened a couple of times. Usually, I managed to overcome it by disconnecting and re-start. Today, he began again while I was trying to rename pictures newly imported into my images. Not only all the icons began to jump (like the old TV set picture). When it stopped, I tried typing the name change and it jumped back to image to a subfolder of folder. Re-booting (twice) did not help. HP Support screen was jumping as I type. What's wrong?
Hello
Shut down the laptop. Here tap f8 as soon as you press the power button to start the Windows Recovery Console. Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER. Let windows take over completely in this mode. The screen resolution will be different, that you always get the "jump issue"? To exit the Safe Mode, simply to restart the laptop.
Kind regards

I've been running Windows 7 for about a week, but today I had a "Recent favorite places" icon on my desktop and I can't remove it.
When I right click on it I get "open, clear recent items and create a shortcut ' no deletion.I do not want the recent items on the start menu. It's on my desk.
If I can't find a way to get rid of it, I'm going back to XP
