Recently upgraded to El Capitan, now Mail to automatically synchronize each account?
There are two Macs that run my business (for my father & I, then we can exchange emails), when we recently moved our Parallels and the operating system, we have encountered many problems with our old email accounts. They were all set up as accounts pop. We have been informed of all our POP accounts change in IMAP, so we did. Now, every email that comes in is synchronized between the two computers. Whenever he receives an email on his e-mail account, it appears both our computers as a new email. Should he read it in his computer, it automatically gets "read" on my computer. We are also two other accounts that are more universal for our society, that many of our customers will initially write us to inquire information. The same problem also happens with these accounts.
Is there a way to reverse the trend? Do we need to reroute other accounts to get sent to MY email?
Any advice would be helpful.
What you describe is exactly the operation when using IMAP accounts and that is what most people prefer.
To reverse the trend, switch to the use of POP to access email accounts.

Recently upgraded to El Capitan, I had that problem for Mail stop unexpectedly when I saw some posts. I followed the steps and was able to remove the trouble messages. Now I can't restore the mail window message viewer component. When I try to catch the separator bar to go back to the left, only half of the small arrow icon and line appears, and it cannot be moved. Can open the message by double clicking a message viewer.
Hi there, alicefrompa!
Thank you for using communities Support from Apple. From your post, I understand that you do not see the Message Viewer box which allows you to read your e-mails; only see you the Inbox that includes a brief overview of the message and are unable to restore access using the separator bars. I have had this happen to my own Mail app and am happy to let you know how I could fix!
You are really on the right track - you want to roll your mouse over the divider between the Inbox and sections Message Viewer (which should now be on the extreme right edge of your mail window) and drag it to the left. When you click on the receipt/Message Viewer box, the cursor turns into a line continuous black with a single arrow pointing to the left. When you see the cursor change, click with the left button of the mouse and (while holding down the mouse button in) drag the combination line / arrow to the left. You may need to drag a little further than before to get it. I had to hang mine almost completely in the middle of my Mail app before the display of the message box appeared.
From there, you should be able to adjust the boxes to your widths you want as expected.
If you are still not able to get the display of the messages visible after have try this, here are a few more things that you can do.
- Press command + O on your keyboard.
- Exit the Mail application, and then press on and hold the SHIFT key on your keyboard while reopening.
- Restart your Mac by selecting the menu Apple in the upper right of your screen restart from the menu drop down.
See you soon!

All applications "quit unexpectedly" - recently upgraded to El Capitan.
I'm at a complete loss for what to do about my Macbook. I can't identify when the problem started or what caused it, but my guess is it started after my upgrade to El Captian a good a few weeks ago.
You see, I mainly use my iPad and iPhone on the day the day. My Macbook (mid 2010 model ' Macbook' white), just sitting in our living room and is only opened and connected to our TV to stream Netflix on Safari a few nights a week. For the whole of this year, which was its only use, so I can't comment on exactly when the apps doesn't work anymore, because I have not used in a very long while to.
I got a notification of El Capitan upgrade a few months ago, so I did and my Macbook left overnight. It is only a day or two after that I went back to it to find the 'Welcome' screen and the new update in place. I completely forgot I have to perform an update. I then went on Safari as usual to stream a movie on Netflix and nothing could spread to alI. I gave up and closed my Macbook and watched on my iPad instead. It wasn't while a few days later I thought id try and solve the problem of streaming media. I tried Flash Player in the Finder to check updates, but after typing a single character, all the Finder window disappeared - it has not been seen all that. I tried to access their website but Safari was incredibly slow. I thought about my recent update of El Capitan has then tried to open the App Store for a possible new updated, but I was given message the completely unexpected "App Store." I tried from other applications to find many others gives me the same message, pictures won't work, Mail, Text Edit, and nor will the simple application 'Preview' among many others. However, iTunes opens, and Safari works very slowly. It is so selective with what will be or will not work.
Most of the bugs I find necessarily need access to the App Store, but it won't work. I am looking for fixes for the App Store but I tried a lot of those, and they will not work either. This has been a problem for a good month or so now, but after trying and patches failed, eventually I give up and close my Macbook for a few more weeks before deciding to try again...
What happens on earth I can do to try to solve this problem?
Please read this message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It is unlikely to solve your problem. Don't be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The test is intended to determine if the problem is caused by a third-party software that loads automatically at startup or logon, by a device, by a police conflict or corruption of system files or some system caches.
Disconnect all devices wired except those required to test and remove all the expansion cards from secondary market, as appropriate. Start in safe mode and log on to the account of the problem.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can not do this. Ask for additional instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run as normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things work at all, including an audio output and a Wi - Fi connection on some models. The next normal boot can also be a bit slow.
The login screen is displayed even if you usually connect automatically. You need your password to log on. If you have forgotten the password, you will have to reset it before you begin.
Test in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and make sure you always have the problem. View the results of the test.

upgrade to el capitan, now error message at first upward...
last night I clicked on free upgrade to el capitan on the itunes site... download for a long time, then when done... the system restarts and I get the following error message
and it does not start... Please help...
If you do not already have a current backup, please backup all data, and then reinstall the OS. * you don't need to erase the boot volume, and you won't need the backup unless something is wrong. If the system has been upgraded an earlier version of Mac OS X, you may need to the Apple ID and password to use.
There are ways to back up a computer that is not fully functional. Ask if you need advice.
If you installed the runtime Java distributed by Apple, and still need, you will need to reinstall it. It goes the same for Xcode. All other data will be preserved.
Related support article refers to OS X 10.11 ("El Capitan"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later versions.

Upgrade to el capitan now cannot receive e-mail.
Hello...
I upgraded last night at el Capitan and welcomes most of my programs work. Who would have guessed that I would not be able to receive my personal e-mail? The settings are good. I can also receive mail business through the Web site account. Error message says it can't authenicate personal email. Why not??
I am able to receive my personal email on my iPad but not on my iMac 2009. Have used the utility disk and CleanMyMac3. No errors. Email is online on RoadRunner, so the problem is on the computer and it seems with El Capitan. Any suggestions of what to do next?
Thank you for your help,
Darling
There are three main types of e-mail account: Exchange, IMAP and pop. Is what type?
If you are unsure, open Mail's preferences window, select the tab accounts and then select the account in the list on the left. Under account information, the account type is indicated.

upgrade to El capitan now HP Photsmart will only scan in black and white
I just upgraded my iMac to El Capitan. My Photosmart HP 7520 analysis now only Launchpad and in black and white? any ideas?
Go to the App Store and try to run another software update. If your system does not automatically detect a new HP update... ?
Also have a look at > the basics of the Mac: using a scanner - Apple Support and try to use the Image Capture Scan-ware from HP instead.

I've recently updated to Lion at El Capitan and my library of more than 40 000 iPhoto was also improved (?) photo. He ran all night. I used Photoshop as my editor of "standard/default" in iPhoto, but now I can't seem to appear in the photo is the photo editor, which is not enough for my purposes. I have found a workaround that requires images to export], edited and then re-imported to the Photos, but I lose all the original images. Can I have Photoshop become my default editor for Photos, as if it was in iPhoto?
3rd party editing application must be updated to work with the new structure of the El Capitan and Photos before they will be able to work seamlessly with Photos.
In the meantime we must export the original file in the office using the menu option file ➙ export Original unmodified for 1 Photo and edit the file there.

iCal freezes after upgrade to El Capitan
I've recently upgraded to El Capitan on my iMac and am now having problems with my iCal. Whenever I run the application, iCal will freeze with a message "Retrieving data from the server", and then say it can not ("make sure that you are connected to the Internet") and asks if I want to try again, or try again later. Most of the time it freezes just at the point of data recovery and I have to force quit out of iCal.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!
Jon
Jon,
If you use iCloud, backup your calendars to iCloudand disconnect from the internet.
Force quit calendar.
Then paste this ~/Library text in the Menu Finder > go > go to folder... window and select 'go '. This will open the folder library users.
Open the calendars folder that is located in the library folder and move all the files with "Cache" in the field of name on your desktop.
Then open the Preferences folder in the same library folder and move the file com.apple.iCal.plist on the desktop.
Open an outbound/inbound session or restart and open the calendar.

Replace the El Capitan e-mail settings
Recently upgraded to El Capitan on my iMac 2011 and failure suffered by e-mail, have as much. Send is ok (despite apparently bad setting), but not receive.
Pretty much exhausted all the various workarounds suggested solutions in many discussions and forums, so I think I'm better choose delete the account and start again.
It seems that if you delete the account, you delete the emails that go with. Is this correct?
If so, how can I save/recover emails easily. I used time machine back to the top (before installation of El Capitan) then recovers from a few emails this simple?
Thank you
Marc
It depends on the account type. If your account is IMAP check your e-mail service provider's website to see if your messages are always located on the e-mail server. With IMAP, the app accounts Mail reflects only what is on the mail server. With IMAP, to delete the account and add it again even if you should be able to solve the problem without making it safe. If the account's POP, then message may be stored on the mail server and you want to export all first before deleting the account. Before making any changes, you must back up your ~/Library/Mail folder by putting a copy on the desktop.

After the upgrade to El Capitan, my iMac is very slow.
I've recently upgraded to El Capitan 10.11.3 on my iMac (Mid2011). I have a cyber-security ESET Pro installed 6.1.12.0. After the upgrade I have trouble with the speed of the m/c and the startup takes a lot of time. I can't use my Photos and export pictures to google reader. I tried to disable the antivirus change, not much. Thanks in advance for any help.
Better to uninstall completely any anti-virus protection and all the apps 'cleaner '.
most people here will agree that there is no need of these
also make sure you have enough RAM 4 GB is really minimal.
and look for updates for third-party applications that you have installed.

I set up an exchange account on Windows Mail on Windows 8 Pro. It syncs all e-mail said to synchronize 'your account '. you will need to change this PC settings to match the security policy of the mail server. See how to "allow windows to apply the security policy to this PC. now I can't find an option where I can leave my exchange server apply security policies. How can I achieve this.
Screenshot - http://sdrv.ms/U3RObM
PS: my exchange account works perfectly on iPhone/iPad and Windows Phone 7.5.
That left me speechless for a long time, but I think I just found a workaround that is may be what many of you who support companies can search for.
End users as admins have them is a complete no, no. I can't have that, it is unacceptable. It dawned on me that if I had to turn an ordinary windows app, perhaps I could temporarily raise so that the app can run and perform it requires registry settings. I did some research and found that you can run the command prompt mail application. I intend to make a race package once I deploy to my end users that I want to set up this app that launches the application as a local administrator, let's configure them it, accept the screen of "Enforcing policy" and get synchronization started. Once the installation program, they have more need the application to run as the local administrator. However, I did a lot of tests and I found that I needed to 'Allow no devices configurable' active too.
Here's the command line on the mail application starts. Test launch invite command as a local administrator of a standard user account and type:
Start ms-mail:
Script by far you want! It is not ideal, but it will do. Do not forget the colon after Microsoft mail. It is necessary.
