Recently upgraded Windows 2000 server to 2008 which does not support Netbeui. I am trying to install TCP/IP on the BACK box, but can't find a 16-bit version.

I have an old DOS box running MS add-on workgroup 3.11. It worked Netbeui for years connecting to a W2K Server with no problems. We have recently updated our server to a new server Win 2008 who now does not support Netbeui. I try to install TCP/IP on the BACK box but have had no luck finding the 16-bit version of the tcp protocol. I can succesfully add battery of 32 bits, but the network card doesn't.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

  • Impossible to pass to windows 8.1 because my processor does not support

OK so I have windows installed on my dell OptiPlex 745 8.1, I uninstalled so I could go to a 64 bit OS. Now it won't let me not reinstall windows 8.1 and says "sorry you can not install the patch because it is not supported by your CPU" I have 8.1 installed before.

Even if your computer's processor is capable of 64-bit, it does not support some Extensions in order to install 64-bit Windows 8.1.

If it does not support these extensions, a BIOS upgrade may be required to activate the support.

In some cases, you might be stuck with Windows 8.1 32-bit unfortunately.

    Hello

We have a new project to start upgrading windows 2000 to 2003 or 2008 (Wich is better). As I would like to know what our options here .all reference will be more useful.

You would need to go with Windows 2003, Windows 2008 is not certified with 11i - see (update on the Installation of Oracle Applications Release 11i (11.5.10.2) [316806.1 ID]) for more details.

I think the cloning option. What do you think?

You can use quick Clone to clone the instance of Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 in accordance with the following documentation.

Documentation fund quick Clone, version 11i and 12 [799735.1 ID]

Or, you could simply upgrade the operating system directly, and in this case, please make sure that you follow the steps described in these documents.

  • How much data transfer during the thin VMFS copy to NFS, which does not support thin?

    1. I copy using - VMFS volume thin for a 2003 hosted server NFS volume.  However, there is no indication that the destination in charge it is thin, and the size of the file becomes the size declared.  When I copy the NFS share that does not support thin volume VMFS does, the file becomes thin.

    a. when I copy volume VMFS volume NFS, the amount of data actually traverses the network?

    b. when I copy volume NFS volume VMFS, the amount of data actually traverses the network?

    2. I have two identical servers with the same 5.1 ESXi on them.  When I copy one of them, starts immediately to 0% and charges while the other starts immediately to 10% and progressive count.  I have never seen this on another server.  If anyone has seen anything like this before?

    Thank you!

I know already that thin size and thick.

If the sizes are well apart from each other, it would be easy to see how much is transferred.

  • How can I get FireFox to work on the first Google ChromeBook addition? He repeats to me upgrade and when I do it says does not support?

How can I get FireFox to work on the first version of the Google ChromeBook? Everytime I open it it said to update or upgrade to FireFox and make it your main page. So I downloaded it and it's open once it is installed, but then a message appears that says "can't stand" search for an application that supports FireFox and its software, or something of the sort. I was sitting here with a full battery when I started and now it is dead... and I still don't have FireFox on my ChromeBook.

What do I do now or how do I get it to work? And if it just simply won't work on a CHromeBook then they need to have that riht out in the open.

    Hello

I had a peek in this and was informed that Firefox does not work on Chrome OS.

It is designed and done a little differently from the likes of Windows and Linux and will not support another browser being installed.

  • Where can I find a 64 bit version (official) of Firefox for windows 10?

I've been scanning the Web for a product Mozilla Firefox 64 bit, but all I can find are 5 months there are forums who say he should be released sometime in September.

The 64-bit version has been delayed, apparently, it was not ready for prime time. 42 of Firefox is scheduled to be released Tuesday and may have a 64-bit version (I have heard that, but we'll see it).

My understanding is that the only plugin that will work on the 64-bit version is Flash. If you use sites where you need Silverlight or another plugin, you can stick with the 32-bit version.

  • Upgrading from Windows Vista Home Premium at 8 - CPU does not support NX

    Hello

I have Vista Home Premium (very probably OEM as it came with the PC) on a PC and I bought the upgrade license to Windows 8 Pro.
I understand that it is in terms of the license transition, but here is my problem:
The CPU does not support NX (and for sure there is no setting in the BIOS for this).
    So I can't move to 8.
To replace the CPU, I need to replace the motherboard.
If I replace the motherboard my understanding is I'm losing the license because it OEM.
So, in reality, I can't switch to Win 8.
The license, I bought said that I can pass any system running XP, Vista, Win 7 to 8 Win.
It does not distinguish between older versions of Windows OEM and retail versions.
For me, it's a huge conflict.
    So the question is:
Can I change the CPU + motherboard to earn 8? or not?
    Thank you
It has been some time but I finally had the time to do the upgrade (hardware + software).
For history and for others who could come on this post with a similar question and be discouraged by responses like this:
I contacted the technical support of MS and they confirmed that I had a Windows 8 Pro upgrade license and after upgrading my license would Win 8 Pro full-detail (what you want to call it). Essentially, after upgrade, I can reinstall any other motherboard. Of course you can only use a license on a machine at one time.
(Of course your upgrade license type may be different to mine, so you should check they type of license)
In any case, what is more interesting, it of that I got the confirmation that I can do a clean install and activate my upgrade license. Not only that, but they recommended the installation of Vista should not be present when installing on 8 to win. I was very skeptical and I asked for an account of the cat to be on the right side. They assured me that the support had made several times and is not a problem.
And so, I do a clean install on the new motherboard (and a new player) and activated windows 8 with no problems at all.
It seems very stupid that you can change the motherboard after the upgrade, but could not make the move and the Windows update at the same time. Fortunately, it is not the case.
To me, it seems that the MS are aware that in you to go from XP (soon), they should also use the materials for the upgrade.

  • Migration of the domain controller Active Directory of windows 2000 server to a Server 2008.

I have an old machine that is running Windows 2000 server and it's our only one domain controller in a mixed 2000/2003/2008 server environment. I would like to move to one of the servers 2008 Active Directory and make the PDC and withdraw from the old box of 2000.

I saw a sea of documentation about the updated/move ActiveDirectory, but no clear examples of what I need to accomplish.

Can I do a dcpromo on a 2003 server, synchronization of the 2000 box, retire the 2000 Server, then dcpromo th 2008 Server 2003 Server? I know this may seem simplistic to a complicated procedure, but I have not really found anything to support...

A simple link to a procedure taken care of step by step would be great.

Thanks for all the ideas in advance.

  • More older PowerEdge 2650 has been accepted, in the search of Windows 2000 Server to install.

Hello and thank you for reading this note.  First time poster here. Please excuse the bad post...

I was given a Dell PowerEdge 2650 (dual Xeon), which has been deleted.  There is a license sticker on top for Windows 2000 Server..., but this product is no longer available from Dell.  Technical support proposed contacting Microsoft about the availability of an installation CD.

I've been wandering the Microsoft site to research to find out where to contact (e-mail, phone, Mail US?) about this... and turn to this group for assistance.

    Who should I contact?

    Your time is appreciated.

    Hello
